At first I was excited for the response but this doesn't even have any effort put into it. =/
Yeah... Not good bait at all.
If you want to learn, I suggest reading some Sluzzy posts. They are a good source of study as to how to properly bait.

Also, if you aren't open to criticism, why do you make the thread in the first place? "Get out of my thread" -no. You made it and I have every right to comment here.
Weak bait. Really weak.

I do exactly that. Still the game decides to hit the rock even though it was far away from my weapon. Or the surv somehow turned and 360ed and is already far away at the same time. You can sometimes watch a surv spin and then get teleported a few meters away.
as I said, if it should stay, make it consistently work against M&K as well. And make it so it doesn’t require you to have a super high sensitivity. Make it an actual feature. I wouldn’t have a problem with that. As it is now, it’s just entirely to there punishing new players and controller/console players. That is bad and unfair design.
I agree with the removal of autoaim. That is simply stupid.
Still, no reason to remove 360. If you can't land any hit on survivors that spin, it's entirely a you problem. If a survivor manages to juke even the best killers, then congratulations to them for being so good.
Also, getting teleported?! Yeah, that's definitely connection related. You aren't supposed to be hand held by the game because you have bad connection.

The new surv animations that were once on PTB apparently fixed this issue.
and again, i might not be a good killer but I have enough experience to see it’s an actual issue for me which isn’t entirely related to my skill. Just saying ‚git gud‘ (which is what you are basically doing) doesn’t work for me and obviously for many others as well.
360s are a dumb ‚feature‘ and either should be made to consistently work against all kind of players regardless of input method or fix it so controller players aren’t at a greater disadvantage than they already are.
No, it is realted to skill. Seriously, just wait for them to 360 and hit. Try to be patient and they will never work.

So what do I have to achieve to be able to complain about 360s?
i got all achievements unlocked and based on my opponents at least on some killers on semi high mmr
also, 360s are actually rewarding survs with a bad ping in my experience. And i wouldn’t call it a fair mechanic when killers on controllers and those on consoles/lower spec pcs are suffering way more from it..
If you are a good killer, you can't come in here and say "boohoo, 360 OP I can't catch survivors who 360". Literally, if you're anywhere near good, you shouldn't get spun more than once (the element of surprise)
Seriously people, complaining about 360s from all the things? One of the most unreliable techs in the game that only works as a last resort.
Also, how do you propose removing 360s? You can't just change hitboxes, that would mess with SO many things.

Despite YouTube videos saying otherwise, I'm not convinced that spinning your camera actually makes any difference to your spins, and if it does it can't make much difference. I tried a custom game and the other player couldn't tell when I was spinning my camera and when I was not.
If it spins to fast, you will end up hindering the 360. Basically, you will end up facing left while your character is still facing right, therefore causing you character to change orientation and ruin the 360.

Only if they have a low ping.
You can't change a fair mechanic because people with bad internet struggle against it.
360s are fine and period. They at most work only the first time and on bad killers. Learn to play killer then complain about 360.

But then they can get distance because you waited. And what if they're doing the wiggle instead of a 360?
Actually, it might surprise you, but when a survivor is close you can still move without attacking, and that's how you don't lose distance.
And wiggling is the same, just aim on a side and wait for them to get there.
Like seriously, you can't get spun for 20 seconds if you're anywhere near good

Hey, William Shatner's face isn't that scary. ;P
It's not his face that's scary. It's the simplicity of a dangerous serial killer being dressed with... A white mask and a black jumpsuit. All that evil dressed simply, not full of worms, decomposed, burnt etc.
For me something looking so realistic is scarrier than a skeleton walking around. Ain't no bone gonna run around without a muscle my guy.
-
But who could possibly be the killer? Literally everyone uses guns, can't remember anyone who used anything else (aside from Deok-Su, but he wouldn't be the killer you'd ever expect lol). Toy girl isn't... The right size.
But I want Jun-Ho as a survivor. Wi Ha-Joon remains my biggest crush ever 😍😍

Yeah it is. But you only see the rotten skeleton there and it isn't even meant to be the scary version of Sadako. I still stand by my point that the classic, clean white dress with hair covering the face is MUCH scarrier than a skeleton walking around.

Tbh, it's a case of western horror: making something "scary" by making it disgusting.
This is why I prefer Eastern horror. Base Sadako is much creepier than this over exaggerated version.

No, because people with epilepsy have no business in computer games in my opinion, because it is just too dangerous, sry
There is 0 downside in removing the flashlight strobing.
And yes, they have a business. As long as the game can maintain a trigger-free experience, there is no reason not to play.

That's not something to be proud of. What you have described there is just you being a bad gamer, we all know one person that makes playing games unfun because they are just no fun to play with (They get angry over losing, the game not going how they wanted, ruin it for everyone else just because they aren't happy) don't be that guy. Dead at no gens dead at 5 gens it doesn't matter.
You are taking the game far to personally and that's unhealthy,
The mori animations especially can be great, die thematically, own your loss and move on as getting all pissy over death in a game is really just childish and ridiculous, and it is just getting pissy like a child nothing more.
Best in game death I ever had was getting mori'd by hag on Hawkins, I was downed behind some barrels and all you could see was my feet sticking out, the hag's hands flailing and blood splatter it was a very cinematic implied death with only subtle visual, real horror movie moment.
Everyone is different. People on these forums have this thing with "if you are angry at losing, then you have mental issues". No, I am simply angry at losing and I'd be much better off just skiping a boring animation and move on.
And no, I don't ruin people's games because I'm angry. I can't ruin your game if I'm already dead.
-
No.

What the... What kind of an analogy is that?
Of course both have responsibilities.
The company for not having safety precautions/labels and the family member for not being able to advise cautionary procedures despite knowing the truth.
I mean, is this really needed to be iterated? Isn't it common sense?
Simply because the OP knew about the epilepsy isn't enough to make them think about the dangers and warning the cousin. If it doesn't pass your mind about that, why is it your fault?
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2837735#Comment_2837735
Never said it was his job, but if my family had diabetes and I know the consequences of eating too much sugar and having low insulin and I have knowledge of it, I'd be the first one to advise them of the outcomes that may occur if things weren't taken into precaution. Same goes for the OP.
If his cousin played the same game he played and even knew of the dangers of playing said game while having epilepsy brings more questions than answers regarding his responsibilities, since he had knowledge of his health issues.
Something doesn't need to be a "job" especially regarding health of a family member.
If a company makes a product and doesn't add "may contain x", and the consumer dies because of anaphylaxis, is it the company's fault for not putting that warning there, or a family member's who works there and knows there are those traces in the product, but didn't think of/ realize to tell their relative about it?

@Voodoo_Thirsty said:

Well, my apologies for reading it wrong.
Now regarding the hypothetical situation where the cousin was the only one playing the game, I can't really grasp this theory.
The OP clearly plays DBD and even if the cousin was to play the game in his own leisure/prerogative, I doubt the OP was unaware of the fact that his cousin played the same game he plays regularly. And it would be even worse to think the OP never advised his epileptic cousin about the dangers of playing DBD while suffering from epilepsy.
Either way, the hypothesis doesn't seem to add up.
It's not the OP's job or business to stop their cousin from playing. It's BHVR's job to remove flashlight macros and add a photosensitive setting, which turns off all instances of flashing lights.
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2837706#Comment_2837706
Because Pukenplag, an epileptic seizure doesn't happen when the screen is too far away.
This was the same case with the Pokemon episode where the kids were literally right in front of the television. After the incident, Japanese televisions started to broadcast to kids "to stay away from the screen".
If you want to deny the scientific fact, then you do you. But having researched this and knowing what the prerequisites are for getting into an epileptic seizure, I can guarantee you that the cousin was very close to the screen.
And I iterate again.
I'm not blaming the cousin. The cousin would not have known what kind of a game DBD was.
I'm blaming the OP, who would've known the nature of the game (being darker) and the very mechanics that came along with it (i.e. flashlight clicking) and having the audacity to come to the forums to blame the survivors and the devs for HIS mistake.
Have you read my text upside down, by any chance? Where exactly did I say THE COUSIN was far away? I clearly stated the cousin was playing either in the same room or the other one, and while they were having the seizure, the OP found them.
And once again, the OP is to blame? Why? I ask again, when did the OP say they showed their cousin the game or they made their cousin play? You are making assumptions and blaming the OP based on them.
-
@Voodoo_Thirsty the funniest part is how you ENTIRELY assume the OP showed the game to their cousin. What if the cousin was on the same room or next room playing and the OP found them having the seizure?
Also, there is no reason to blame the cousin or the OP in this case. It doesn't help resolving the issue. As long as the game doesn't need flashing lights to function, why not remove them so photosensitive people can play?
-

Skipping the death hook is fine, but you shouldn't be able to skip a Mori. Moris are rare, and vindicative for killers to perform and enjoy their win.
Would you also be fine with killers being able to leave when the exit gate opens? Or is it wrong for the killer to not be forced to watch you tbag at the gates?
In B4 "THE KILLER CAN JUST STARE AT A WALL FOR 4 MINUTES!!! D'x"
The killer still enjoys their win because they see the animation.
People that believe it's necessary to have the loss rubbed in your face, why? Why do we have to hurt each other for our loses? Why not be a good sport so each part enjoys the game?

I agree.
The argument I’m bored of seeing it, it goes for what barely 30 seconds, is just a lame rationale for being a sore loser.
I am proud to be a sore loser against dirty killers. Fun matches, I would gladly sit through the animation, you earned it. But when I die on hook at 5 gens with a nice item I risked using, because of a tunneling and facecamping 5k ping huntress, that animation just further rubs in my face the fact that I'm not good at hockey.

But the thing about Tombstobe is that it doesn't make me think "oh no, I'm playing a horror game", it makes me think "oh great, my teammates did something stupid, and now I'm being removed from the game before I even had the chance to play it"
Play safe. Tombstone Myers changes the game into something different.
If you see Myers is about to get you in t3, jump in a locker. You'll be caught either way, at least you won't get moried if he has tombstone.
Edit: not to mention there are ways you can get out of the game even faster. But people think dying on hook in the first 2 minutes is less quick than getting tombstoned after 4 minutes.

Strength doesn't make something meta, it being used most frequently makes it meta. I don't think NOED is used often enough to be considered a meta perk, but I might be wrong about that.
Well NOED not being used often is a good joke.
Edit: the latest stats I could find from the devs regarding this are from the last anniversary (June 2021).
NOED was the third most used perk back then. Considering Boonners, it's likely it may have dropped a bit, but nevertheless it's a VERY popular perk.

Fingers crossed Judith stays. "oh no, I just died".
It's one of the most interesting things left from old dbd. It's such a shift of imagery. You are now facing a killer that gives you no second chance. It's really cool to face and I recommend you shift your attitude from "very competitive game" to "I'm playing a horror game" when facing tombstone Myers. It's a unique experience if you know how to immerse in it.
-
I have been reported for looping, camping, facecamping, teabagging, clicky-clickying. And that was back in 2016-2017 when people reported looping and camping lol. As for the others, I used to be a prick in 2017. I used to idolize OchiDO so I thought being toxic was cool (poor 14 yo me).
-
@jesterkind said:
Are any of those actually meta perks, though...?
Maybe Starstruck on a select few killers, but I think it's hard to rely on an effect that you aren't bringing consistently. They're strong, at least some of them, but I'm pretty sure the meta has far more to do with slowdown than exposed right now.
NOED is meta.
People say how bad it is to have no perk all game, doing bones etc.
Run NOED, facecamp the first person you catch with it and you have at least 1 guaranteed kill, considering they don't attemp anything stupid.
This game rewards heavily dirty strategies. I was angry I couldn't get past 1k with any of the killers, so I decided to get a 4k.
Step 1: Pick Boob
Step 2: Select the perk "Insidious"
Step 3: Put Léry's
Step 4: Insidious camp the first guy you catch, go to basement if you can.
Step 5: Unless they are in a SWF, at least someone will get caught while trying to save.
Step 6: Enjoy the 2k by 3 gens left on Léry's.
Step 7: Find another guy that will suicide on hook knowing you are Insidious camping.
Step 8: Close the hatch
Step 9: Get the last guy, nod and hit them on hook
Step 10: Enjoy their tears in endgame chat, knowing how much you ruined their game and how bad you'd feel in their situation.
Oh wait, did I just get a 4k by using a no-brainer dirty strategy and being toxic?

If I have 1 million and I spend 950k on the graphics team, it's kinda obvious not so many bugs will be solved lol.
They allocate too much money on cosmetics while their game is falling apart. Cosmetics make them money, but if your product is in a horrible state, do you either:
a) spend more money on improving the product, so your customers are happy and you don't lose them
b) create even more products, change the packaging and the colors, but keep the same garbage quality
Behaviour goes with option b.
