NOED is actually an issue and it shouldn't be in game. It's a hot take because people on this forum always say it's fine and so on, but doing bonners is unreliable 99% of the time in solo q and dedicating a build to it means that no one does gens.
Yes, it's an issue and I stand by my point. Don't try to convince me otherwise.
Edit: excuse my blindness. I did not see the part with "*survivor* hot takes"
-
Honestly, the sad part if this happens is that new Freddy mains will have to experience what old Freddy mains have: losing their favorite character.
Wouldn't it be better if Freddy had an addon to revert him to old Freddy?

Can relate.

I don't play survivor that often, and I can't get a game that doesn't have someone kill themselves on hook, or have 1-2 people Dcing at 5 gens. I'm out, I'm going back to killer because this genuinely feels unplayable.
Honestly, this was what I thought back when I got back into the game last month. I only felt like playing survivor, and started getting saltier and saltier over loses. Then I decided to play killer (for the most part I used to play killer, but generally I'm a 50/50 throughout my career) and realized how much WORSE killers have it. Most of the time as survivor I had really good chances to get out, but as killer I am constantly getting stomped.
If I commit to chase, with the amount of loops they have I will basically waste 3 gens before getting the first hook. If I don't commit, they heal within the next 15 seconds and once more there are 4 people on 4 different gens. Without anti loop killers I just can't play at all.
I found myself doing the best with Pinhead, it seems I have the best MMR on him and honestly he is really fun to play.

It exists the way it does precisely because only Plague can do that and it comes with gigantic caveat of her power also producing fountains that pass out full heals in exchange for converting her power from a debuffing power to an active damage power with a lot of range.
There aren't many Hex perks that modify basic attacks with actual threatening status effects without a trade off.
Hex: Haunted Ground or Hex: Ghost Graveyard for the old school TrueTalent fans, is a booby trap and meant to broken.
Hex: Devour Hope is ultra high risk/high reward is you can get it stacked and keep it from popping.
Noed doesn't active until the gates are powered and if the survivors actual do the dang bones like they should it never has the chance to activate.
You get the general idea. Hex totems exist in high risk/medium to high reward balance zone and being able to just inflict broken status with basic attacks from the start of the game would be asking for swift rebalancing unless you had one heck of downside to even it out. Plague has a counter balance built into her power and her power is a time investment if you want to break people at faster speed. Judging by your name and profile pic I'm probably not telling you anything you don't know.
The thing is that such a hex is like the exact same perk for killers that CoH is for survivors. This perk could end the healing meta.
Rekindling it over and over again doesn't seem like something CoH doesn't do.

I would like to play Meg on Disturbed Ward against whatever killer I first faced. I remember perfectly the very first thing I saw in a match, back in December 2016, but nothing else.
I remember when I got SB at level 10, my cousin was always pressing shift to ruin the SB for me.
I really can't believe it's been 5 years since then.

Hi there,
I'd love to know what are some known hacks so I know what to report.
I'm relatively new to DBD, but I've noticed as a killer a few things happening that I believe are hacks. Survivors opening lockers without going in, survivors instantly healing a health state on another survivor who was only just been knocked into dying state. That kind of thing.
Problem is I'm too new to know for sure what is and isn't possible in this game, so I would love to know what hacks y'all know exist.
Opening lockers without going in is not a hack, it's the perk "Deception". Look it up on Élodie.
If the survivor healing instantly another one becomes broken aka they can't be healed (you see a cross with a slash on it besides the survivor's icon on the left), then they use the perk "For the People". Look it up on Zarina.

I wish dead hard was removed.

PinH made me feel weak first few games, but then I realized he has a ton of uses and is probably on of the most balanced killers out there.
Sadako, on the other hand, has nothing good neither on paper nor in game. There is no way this killer becomes good without some good buffs.

As year -1 player (after all, I got to know this game before it even launched on steam, I remember how excited I was to have it launch and see the new killers and new maps), I would probably not like it anymore. The game felt so horror back then, before people figured out to loop and stuff. I deeply miss those days.
The game nowdays... I play it because I like the gameplay. It's way different from what it felt like back then, but I like it. Would I have liked it back then? Probably not.

2 and 3 are your fault and indicative of poor play that can be improved upon.
Edit: The big thing to full comprehend here is if your MMR is going down so is the killers. Realistically, you should reach a point of no return where you can loop a killer indefinitely just because they lack the proper skill and resources to catch you. At that point you really shouldn't ever lose, and winning in that style should raise you to an MMR where other survivors have more developed skills as well.
And lastly, you can't fix potatoes, find friends and SWF. Knowing that this is a team game no-one should expect to perform as well when grouped with randoms.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2813390#Comment_2813390
Absolutely, except that this is never the argument being made. It's always the egregious exaggeration that someone ran the killer for 4 gens and still lost and it's the end of the world because that one game their MMR went down.
It's disingenuous and it hurts the people who are trying to engage with more reasoned arguments in good faith.
2 and 3 are generally not things you can improve on. Making bad plays is natural, even the best can make bad plays.
The issue is, however, that, as an above average player I'd like to believe I am, I am used to playing a bit riskier. Therefore, as my low MMR teammates suck and have genphobia, although I can hold a killer in a chase for 2 minutes (The game in the OP: I looped the shack for 2 minutes, before the hag somehow lost me), no gen goes by.
And then, when I get in end game, I unhook a second state survivor with BT, they take the hit, I then take another one, and when we reach the gate, as I realize that guy will be caught and they are dead on hook, I decide to go down for them, as the rest of my team is fully healthy and hasn't been hooked (except for that person I saved). But then, as my team prioritized the gate teabag, I die on hook, and, according to the MMR, the 5 hours Hag was better than me and I need to face a 4 hours killer with 2300 ping.

When you hold such a high position in a company, you have to be careful what you say. When you make such outrageous statements, don't expect people not to bash on the statements.
Also, to any mod/dev reading this: no, these aren't personal attacks on those people and I like to believe no one wants bad stuff to them. However, they are still important people in a big company, and when you hold such positions, you can't just say anything. Moreover, it's just childish to punish people (I won't go into any details, but I guess most people know very well who I am talking about) who critique these scandalous statements.
Nevertheless, I am sure this statement will age like pretty good job so far.
-
Wait, were you actually playing me while I was playing the game? Why is this precisely my experience today as well?

If you perform that well consistently you will escape more than you are sacrificed.
People refuseing to understand that one game makes not a statistically significant event are about as common as people who don't understand the emblem system is not your mmr.
The only issue is that, by dying constantly to baby killers and getting face camped, my MMR keeps on dropping, I keep on facing worse and worse killers and worse and worse teammates, untill I fall so badly I start climbing up.
How do you lose against a baby killer, you may ask?
1. NOED (yes, do bones, but when your teammates are just as baby it gets really hard).
2. A stupid play from your side by underestimating the killer.
3. You try to save someone in endgame and they leave you to die.
After that, it's usually either the no one saving you or face camping that gets me killed.

the most. When I saw the thread title and saw the overall content, the originality and wit of the title astounded me. By using the words of a dev to prove his point, he was able to allude to the content seen without needing to see the text. It proved that there are some instances where simply kills can’t show how skilled a survivor or killer is, since there is so much more that occurs in game. In using the quote by said developer in a sarcastic manner, it also applied a level of humor to the point made. So yes. It was original.
Nah, people used it a lot of times before him. That quote will just stick to be iconic like the pretty good job so far one.

I mean, do you really want to survivors to handhold bad killers like sadako and let you buy her with all those lies?
It'd be better to ######### trash tier killer and make it not worth playing I think, so BHVR has to do something.
It's one thing to play tryhard to show how bad she is, it's another thing to straight up bully and use flashlight macros.
Oh and as a sidenote: I just had a game with 2 DCs. I spent 5 minutes trying to get one guy to 7 stacks, but when he got to 4 he just decide to profit off my friendliness and clear them. I DCed and I'm not playing PTB anymore. Sadako is not fun at all and she is also very weak.

Not to mention one of them DEFINETLY had a smooth speed hack. I checked their profile and they had a lot of -reps for hacking. Reported their profile.

I read that, I was responding directly to where you contradicted yourself later claiming that since nobody had brought a flashlight there was no way for you to deal with hag's traps. There is a way, you just clearly either failed to implement it, are not sure how, or just feel like whining about a c level killer regardless.
Fact is, the camera spin is an intended and necessary part of her kit. If there were that many traps around a single hook then there should have been none anywhere else, meaning no gen pressure.
Of course that's ignoring the elephant in the room, being, If you were playing against the sort of baby hag that sets 5 traps per hook, how y'all managed to get two survivors hooked at the same time. Honestly the whole thing just reads as a skill issue disguised as complaining about a game mechanic you don't seem to understand the need for, despite it being explained to you multiple times.
So either A. There just weren't as many traps as you claim. Or B. Y'all were losing regardless so badly that the killer you were playing against stopped really even trying.
MMR should answer you how that baby hag got two hooks at once.

Seriously ######### is with the whole "I shouldn't have to do something to win" mentality of so many survivors? You don't need to go searching for them, just do them whenever you find one.
That unfortunately doesn't work! As I mentioned above, after bringing a totem hunting build and breaking 4 totems, the killer still had NOED proc because of my team not doing ANY totem. It's simply the reality.

It is just you, I read through it, and then disregarded the crybaby parts.
"Disregarded the crybaby parts" - you literally disgmregarded the "crybaby part" that was me seaying going crouched WAS MY INTENTION. However, as the Hag got very close, keeping on crouching would just get me killed .

You will have to forgive me. There are a lot of complaints in the thread.
Tbh it sounds like the map design is the problem. But that is for a different thread.
If a hag has two people on hook and 5 traps under each of them then she has exactly 0 left on the rest of the map. If she has 5 between the two hooks, then she may have half a web set up. In the first case, you can do gens and leave. Consider it the same as a face camp except she will never be a threat again in the match because she did not set up properly. In the second, she can be harassed to teleport between the two traps.
In neither case does the camera swing enter into any calculations. Your camera WILL NOT SWING if you are looking at the trap before it pops. If they are at hook and you know that they are there, there is no reason for the cam to swing.
Hags who put more than 1 trap anywhere are not able to get value from their kit, they are basically the same as any other camper.
I seriously suggest reading posts and watching guides on how to play as and against her. She has a tremendous amount of counterplay and depth on both sides.
About the camera swing: the hag obviously placed those traps all over the place, therefore each one switched my camera when activated, making it impossible for me to look where I wanted.
-
Max B tier. Has A BIT of map pressure, but way too RNG based. Her passive builds so slowly that, if you are lucky, someone gets marked end game. I think NOED would be really amazing on her considering that. She has a tiny hit of slowdown, but I don't think it's really that notable.

They made it so it just drains charges, which you could argue is better but a perk being able to straight up remove an item from play was pretty good. Esp when old keys were a thing.
I think nerf was probably the wrong word, my bad
Well, removing an item only really helps assure the survivor won't use it in further matches (no one runs built to last lol). Removing charges makes most items useless once dropped.

Then again im the type to run no mither for fun and a challenge and a warm up.
Soooo, I did bring the map with DH. Game went horribly wrong, everyone was downed by 5 gens left, however somehow we were only on death hook by 3 gens remaining. We got into end game, I cleansed 4 totems by myself, the only one who wasn't cleansed was NOED. I sneaked there, close to the gate, killer camping it. I did the totem and got out.
2k 2 escapes. Not bad. 10/10 will do it again.

People always say how NOED isn't a problem, it's fair etc. How come such a fair perk always gets complained about?

Except when im solo q i do do all the bones. With ease. But then again i dont rely on cruch perks every game.
I do rely because my teammates don't do gens, don't heal, etc. My best bet is to have perks that make my chases longer. I have an escape rate of probably 10%. I either die first hook, either no gens are getting repaired, etiher my whole team feeds etc. It's extremely unfair when I finally get a good match with good teammates just to get NOED camped.

It's possibly already fixed but they only do two hotfixes and now they are working on patch 5.6.0 presumably. It is disappointing but you have to remember nurse is one of soon to be 27 killers so in that perspective it doesn't really seem worth it overall to push out a patch that could possibly break other things.
Will* not could.
