A funny thing about the video tape 'item'
So I was just thinking about how the past 3 killers have had their own unique 'items'. Nemesis had Vaccines, Pinhead has the Lament configuration and now Sadako has the video tape items
However there's one key difference - the video tape item is not currently counted as a 'held item' meaning you can hold both it and normal items.
Anyone else believe this has been done because of Franklins/Hoarder again? In a similar vein to how Franklins was nerfed because the devs couldn't find a way to make it not eat the vaccine item.
Since the tapes are crucial to ridding yourself of the 'condemned' build up, it makes sense why this was done but it's also really funny to think that perks like Franklins/Hoarder are likely the reason things like this happen

I just find it amusing that perks like Franklins kind of dictate how 'items' can be used in conjunction with killer powers
Well the tape also provides a benefit to the killer while its held, unlike Vaccines and The Lament Configuration (unless you consider the barely consistent Chain Hunt on them).
True but it's also the only way to remove being condemned if i'm not mistaken?
She also has an addon that gives everyone video tapes at the start of trail. Which would override a survivor's item if they brought one in if the video tape wasn't it's own slot.
Oh man can you imagine if that's how it worked? That'd be so annoying
Well it's like
BHVR decides how Franklins works and instead of making special items exempt from Franklins, in a similar vein to how blindness doesn't affect killer power auras, they just decide to design the power around the perk.
It's a little funny come on
Wait, Franklin's change was a nerf? I'm pretty sure it can be considered a big buff.
They made it so it just drains charges, which you could argue is better but a perk being able to straight up remove an item from play was pretty good. Esp when old keys were a thing.
I think nerf was probably the wrong word, my bad
Well, removing an item only really helps assure the survivor won't use it in further matches (no one runs built to last lol). Removing charges makes most items useless once dropped.
"Killer Secondaries"(Vaccines, Lament Configuration, Video Tape) should be made immune to Franklin's Demise, that way the Video Tape could still count as an Item so you couldn't just hold the Video Tape and an Item along side it. It also wouldn't hurt Nemesis, since noone runs Franklin's to counter Vaccines anyway, nor Pinhead, as using Franklin's on Pinhead is a waste of a Perk slot since if you're chasing the box holder, they're going to get downed at one point or another
You forget that deleting someone“s item was always more satisfiying since they can“t run with it to the exit.
