That can't be right.
Sure can't be. Had a 2 man swf meant to run the killer. They had WOO. All of us died, and in end game chat they were angry at the amount of pallets. They said they counted up 5, just like me.

Proof or it didn't happen.
I haven't done an inventory but it's ridiculous how a survivor on any map can drop a pallet, and be at the next pallet way before the killer can get close. And can do that with 9 or 10 pallets in a row (by which point you're lucky if only 3 gens have popped).
No offence but I simply don't believe you.
Played a match on rotten fields last night. After being chased twice and only found two maps, decided to just wastebtime and go around the map and count all the pallets.
There were exactly 5, shack and cow tree included.

Man... you don´t need to play RE.
Here was a thread with a drawn map of the RPD map. Can´t repost atm.
Just learn it - it is really not that difficult.
And a lot of gens are fixed. Always in main hall or the little room left (from front exit) or above. I think always in the bathroom on top and so on.
After playing this a few times you really should know these things.
May the Goldfish is not so far fetched...
I learnt it long ago lol. I meant the learning itself shouldn't be a thing tbh, but nevertheless, the layout is still garbage.

I think you missed the part where I said I didn't play the game this map was designed from.
Nostalgia has nothing to do with it.
#1: Never had this issue
#2: Library is useless. No reason to go there except to check for totem spawns.
#3: Gens are insanely easy to find and have a preset number of spawn points. Seriously, it is one of the most reliable gen spawn maps in the game. Midwich is FAR worse.
#4/#5: If you know where the hallways lead you can reach any spot on the map in like 30 seconds.
Well I guess I just further proved how little I know about RE by my first statement.
1. I had it a dozen times. Just because you never got in that situation, it doesn't mean the issue doesn't exist.
4-5. 30 seconds is almost a third of a generator. In any other map, unless you are on the exact opposite, traversing shouldn't take more than 15-20 seconds.

I think this just proves what I've been saying for the past few months, that the word toxic has lost meaning.
Left hand side, the only two things that are an issue there are 1. DC'ing and 2. Body Blocking (hostage taking) - both of those are against our game rules.
There is a difference between being toxic and breaking rules.
Flashlight clicking and teabagging when not strategically used, 4 man slug for no reason, hook hitting, closing hatch after carrying survivor to hatch etc. are all taunts and bad sports. In many sports, taunting is forbidden. There are people that are nice after winning and even escorting you out of the playfield, and there are DBD players making their best at rubbing the win in your face.
Do those taunters deserve bans? Maybe some of them should in order to learn how to adopt a good sport, but nevertheless, toxic shouldn't be equivalent to cheating or body blocking. Those are different things.

I love RPD.
I never get lost here because I do not have the memory of a goldfish. And I didn't play the RE remake, either. Cause I played the original.
But not everyone played RE. I shouldn't be forced to buy another game in order to learn the layout of a DBD map. It is hard to learn the layout of a map you get so rarely. But let's say with time you learn the layout.
Let's be objective: you love RPD because of nostalgia. It is an objectively BAD map for this game. It was built for a whole different game and it doesn't fit in DBD.
1. Down anyone near the main hall gate and try to hook them. Unless you have the gate hook, which may or may not spawn, the nearest hook is too far away to carry anyone to.
2. Library.
3. Gens are impossible to find.
4. Even with you knowing the layout, you still have to reach a certain place on the map by going in a completly differnt direction every time. This increases the time it takes to move from place to place by a hundred.
5. With 4 in mind, the map is EXTREMELY big, so needing half an hour to traverse it doesn't help it either.

@Laluzi said:
Hooks on indoor maps tend to be bad in general, especially the two-story ones. The change in hook density does not even remotely make up for the lack of variable routing and the forced adherence to hallways/stairs. A hook might be generated a 'fair' distance from a zone, but you've gotta walk in a left-right-right-left pattern to reach it, so it's not actually reachable in
sixteenfifteen seconds. I find Midwich is also really prone to expansive dead zones. For RPD, I think a hook should always spawn on the right side of the exit gate area that's attached to the main hall. Would help with some issues with where hooks spawn in the main hall and the reception room, though it wouldn't fix the issue with RPD having very scarce and hard to reach hooks compared to an outdoor map.
Imo, they should at some point manually assign fixed hook loocations on 2 storey maps. The same layout, always, no variation.
-
@Junylar said:
They should just remove RPD.
Or maybe introduce a new mechanic to the game, where hooks are generated based on the storey you are on. At the moment, if you have a hook upstairs on RPD, as far as I know, the game treats it as if it were downstairs, so no hooks spawn close downstairs.
-
@egg_ said:
If we remove "hooks" from the title of this thread, you have more or less what i question myself every time I load up in that map
Well, can't disagree tbh.
However, the map CAN be managable, except for the unexistent hooks. The only other map where you can get a down by the gate and have no hook near is The Game, which, unsurprisingly, also isn't that great of a map.

This was always a thing as far back as 2016 from my memory.
If you filled up your wiggle bar at least a small bit and were dropped, you'd gain the drop bonus but then as you were slugged (so not actively wiggling) your wiggle progress was gradually decreasing.
We've even had discussions last year on this on the forum, it was quite a surprise when I saw that many people didn't know it was a thing.
Oh well, I guess only the players from the dark times of perma sabo remember this feature. Back then it was definetly helpful in many situations. Not so much now.
But really, do so little people know wiggle regresses while downed? Wow –l I feel old lol.

He plays for content, not for win. That's why your example isn't that good. It's like soccer player who wants to score goals only in fanciest way to impress their fans
Regardless of whether or not he escapes, there is no way you can tell me he isn't a good player. There are very little people that can do all those kinds of jukes. Yeah, maybe you could use different arguments of how such players stay in low ranks and so on, but there is no way you can tell me JRM isn't a good player. However, because he doesn't escape, Patrick still considers him far bellow the skill of a blendette that never touches a gen and escapes thanks to her team's efforts.
-
JRM is an example of a very bad player, right? He basically never escapes, therefore the fact that he can be chased for like 3 minutes isn't an indication of skill.

Never heard of this happening, but okay. Flashlights are an integral part of gameplay at the current time, and I'm sure if the game is an issue, the persons affected have every right to complain themselves, or heed warnings and seek medical attention or not play.
Generators have flashing lights above them and flashing sparks come from them while being repaired. Doctor has flashing in his power. Why is this not being mentioned? Oh. Right, because fellow killers are only mad at flashlights.
Even so, we are talking about ACTUAL HATE BEHAVIOR, and to compare that to features that may cause adverse MEDICAL reactions is still asinine. These are different issues that need to be addressed differently.
And cyber bullying isn't hate behaviour?
Placing a lock on flashlights like "1.5 second interval between flashlight uses" is just enough. I can't see situations in which this would be detrimental to actual gameplay.
And as I said it would happen, you just said those people shouldn't play. Why didn't you say that to PoCs getting bullied by racists? In both cases it is an absolutely embarassing argument, considering simple fixes can come from the developers' side.
But anyway, if we are on the subject of epilepsy, there are people for whom situations like bullying can cause seizures. My best friend has such a condition, she is very sensible to harassment, for she immediately has seizures in such cases.
-
@HeyItsQuiet said:
While the intent behind the masks was lore-accurate (bubba wears all victims faces regardless of race) and well-intended, it's the toxic player base and racists that MADE it a problem.
Racist actions are more serious than the annoyance of crouching and flashlights. A cosmetic can easily be replaced with something else as long as the license allows it. You can't replace the time someone had to spend getting harassed by a racist Bubba with no way out besides a DC penalty.
To compare the two is absolutely asinine.
Except in both cases people had to suffer and were stuck in a game in which they were. But in one case we are talking about racism, and people like to show off their double standards. If it's suffering due to racism, it's bad, if it's as much suffering but another form of harassment, it's acceptable.
There are people getting epileptic seizures due to flashlight spammers, but they don't care, right? They should just stop playing because of a mechanic as easily removable as the masks.

Wait I actually agree with this what.
Yea actually removing that would be great for players with epilepsy. Can we leave the whole Bubba situation out of this tho?
Well, that is the topic of the post, but yeah.
I personally don't like people with double standards. Remove this because people are suffering due to it, but don't remove that because other people are suffering due to that. Just tell them to quit playing.

I'd equate the epillepsy thing a little more to telling someone not to eat peanuts because of an allergy.
Except for epilepsy, straight up removing flashlight strobing resolves their issue and they can be happy.
The same way they were able to remove skins in order to prevent harassment, they should also remove a mechanic that not only is hurtful emotionally, but also physically for some.
-

"They just say "don't be gaming if you have this condition". Couldn't I say "don't be gaming if you have this skin color" for the people that unfortunately got bullied by stupid racists?"
Do you want to actually support your stance with this argument?
Urgh, I knew that would turn up sounding bad lol. By no means do I support racism lol. What I actually meant to say is that telling people to stop playing because of a condition is as absurd as telling people to no longer play because they are getting harassed by racists.
-
I love how people use the argument of "one is hurting your feelings and one is racism".
Do you know why racist harassment made with the smartface mask cause? Hurt feelings.
Hurting people's feelings and making them feel trash is unacceptable, no matter if it's done through racism or taunting and bullying.
There is also the issue with photosensitive epileptics. Apparently, people don't care about these fellows, that anyway get a huge ton of ######### on life for their condition. They don't care that flashlight spamming is a stimulus for seizures. They just say "don't be gaming if you have this condition". Couldn't I say "don't be gaming if you have this skin color" for the people that unfortunately got bullied by stupid racists? In both cases, people are suffering due to vile people, because they were born in a certain way.
But of course we only care about combating racism, not cyber bullying and straight up intentionally causing others to have seizures.
Maybe we should value combating both, just saying.

So can't you understand that waving has the original meaning of "the killer is camping" but people have started using it for multiple reasons? They aren't trolling, the only one trolling is you and I'm pretty sure endorsing unsportsmanlike behaviour isn't allowed on these forums.

I don't have an answer to that I'm afraid...as I said, these are my personal feelings on the matter (although I also think I'm right lol).
It's also been in the game since release, probably something that does need to get looked into.
Imo, the answer is kinda simple. The devs never expected looping to be a thing, never expected separation to actually work in the survivor's favor and even more. When the offering was made, it was thought being split is a curse and would make matters worse for survs.

That's cool but you're not a company trying to sell a product. They're not going to take a stance of "English matters only" when the devs themselves aren't even primarily English speakers.
The great competitive games out there didn't exclude a voice chat for the few people not speaking English.
-
@Mandy said:

You also can't rely on voice chat for balancing a game, when not everyone speaks the same language.
Europe for example has many languages and we connect to the same servers, so are unable to understand each other.
Imo, voice chat isn't worth discarding because of the 76 people that don't know even basic words like "gen" "heal" "hi" etc.
And generally, I don't think that, in Europe at least, there are that many people that don't understand ANY English at all. Nowdays pretty much any gamer knows English.

Older players are not seeing the extent of how bad he is, because they have so many perks unlocked from other killers, to hide Myers' weakness.
I challenge anyone to play Michael Myers with ONLY his Myers perks + neutral perks, and no add-ons (new players dont have a lot of them stockpiled)
That will open eyes at how bad he is right now and is in desperate need of a rework. He's the most famous killer DBD has, with a movie trilogy mid-way through.... and this is the state he is in.
He is undeniably trash tier, but the people telling you he is ok aren't that far off in a way. In order to get value out of him, you need experience and better understanding of the game. You can get good results, but that requires knowing different strategies and hell, being a better killer in general.
It is important to first play both roles and more characters before deciding what's good and what's bad.

I mean for example if someone lost a whole progress (reset everything because of bug) and then if that person has a backup of older save, can that person use it or does is it prohibited?
Just curious :D I am not even sure if you can easily just upload your older save file since if I am not mistaken it is cloud saved nowdays anyway.
Note: I have of course read the game rules on forums but there is not mentioned such thing like "your own backups of saves".
You contact support with proof and give them the backup. That way you won't get banned.

The June peak was an all time peak that went away as quick as it came. Of course a lot of people played: RE, 5yrs bringing a lot of not playing players back, cakes etc.
But still, considering the usual play rate, 66k is a pretty huge number considering the "I'm uninstalling" rage.
