My hype kinda went to poopoo land. I am still curious to see what Pinhead will do, but I lost a lot of interest after the ST situation.

With the Stranger Things license going away by the end of the year, means that any license could face the same fate in DBD.
Knowing that new players to the game will be facing a killer and working alongside survivors that they themselves will not be able to purchase is no doubt going to look really odd, but what's even scarier is knowing that BHVR may no longer be updating the characters in any way shape or form from here on out. Why spend precious development resources into updating something you no longer have a license to and can no longer make money from? Makes you wonder what other licenses could be on the verge of ending and could face the same fate? With the recent resurgence of the Halloween movies, no doubt the price for renewing the license will increase.
The Halloween license is the safest atm, they literally renewed it 2-3 months ago. If the license holds up as long as before, then we will have Halloween for another 4 years.

Nightmare on Elm Street has been in the game for about 4 years now without any issues, the license holders are most likely content with Freddy and Quentin being in DBD, otherwise the license would've been revoked a long time ago.
Silent Hill is the license in danger. Konami is very, VERY strict when licensing their games. It's a miracle BHVR managed to get Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason into the game. I would not be surprised if Konami suddenly decides that they don't want another company profiting off their characters.
I wouldn't go with the time something's been in the game for this. Some licenses are longer so they last years.
At least we know that Halloween is safe for a LONG time due to a very recent renewal.
-
I personaly think NoES is the one in most danger right now. As far as I know, that is the strictest license and it wouldn't surprise me to see it go.

Except a lot less people will care about the chapter because of this bad news.

Like others said netflix are going to make their own gaming service and seem like they will make stranger things game. I won't be surprised if it will be asymmetrical pvp horror game that's why they decided to sucker punch bhvr. Simple as that
Well they still lost a lot of fans with this move.

I hope they lose the saw & nightmare on elm street license next. Imagine never having to go against Freddy or play on Badham again. I could rest easy.
I love Badham so I don't want that license to go.

No it doesn't, but most the audience has grown up and I think majority are 15-16 (kids but not the screaming fortniters we all know and hate) odd. I can try and find specifics if you want.
There is younger fans, and they are the most vocal as they are excited about their games (and excited kids are extremely vocal) but there is also adults of 20 years playing because it was their childhood (13 years old when the first game came out).
If all the fans were 20 yo because the series is 7 years old, then it means FNaF is not popular at all. But it is, and young people still join the game.
Just because the original fans have grown up, it doesn't mean new ones are also grown ups.
Oh and as a side note, I have zero issues with kids, as long as they are nice.

Wasn't it something like staying within a certain range of the totem to gain its benefits or something around it has certain effects?

IT ISN'T A SEPERATE MODE lol. Just a normal, everyday game. You have the exact same game we do, nothing missing and everyone else who chooses them are completing them the exact same way you can if you just play the exact same way you always play the game.
This looks to me like some well-thought bait. I think we have the next Sluzzy here.

Indeed, just look at Pokémon. Some of those Pokédex entries are dark as hell.
Reminds me of Herobrine stories. If FNaF isn't for kids because of the lore, then I want people to explain why all 6 year olds were spreading stories about kids getting decapitated and then defenestrated by this being in their computer that wants to eat their families' souls.

As many people beforehand have said, fnaf isn't a kids game anymore, most of the fans are 20 year olds and more mature than when it was first released. And do you know the lore behind fnaf? People getting stuffed into animatronic suits, the bite of 87, springtraps whole lore? None of that's kid friendly, I assure you.
But keep having the delusion that it's "just a kids game".
Just because the lore behind FNaF is dark, it doesn't mean the audience has to be mature.
-
Well kinda sad for me cuz I got to test it only one day. I went to the sea on Friday and I'm getting back tomorrow so I guess I have to wait for the next one.
-
Imo the best way to introduce Pinhead sould be by him saying something like "The puzzle, you sloved it. I came" as a reference to the fact that we were so interested in finishing this teaser puzzle that the cenobites came.

If you are unhooking another Survivor with the Killer right behind you, you can instead just tap the action key which will activate a grab instead of a hit. The grab gets cancelled, however, because you did not keep unhooking, which locks the Killer in place for a bit. This can be done in any circumstance where a Survivor can stop performing an action that can result in a grab.
This was an issue because the Killer would be locked in the grab interaction for a bit while the Survivor was not, allowing them to commit an action without penalty in front of the Killer.
At most levels of play, this happens accidentally and not intentionally, but a few players DO try and get this to work in their favor. It's risky, but if it pays off, it pays off well.
The only issue is that, supposedly, this is due to delay, but I swear I have no issue always forcing the killer into a shoulder tap. Like I literally see them starting the animation and I stop what I'm doing while I CLEARLY see they are grabing me.
The issue if you ask me is that the grab has like a .5s window where it doesn't do anything. If the survivor stops in those .5s the grab is cancelled.

Springtrap can't be straight up ruled out
Yes he can.
This reminds me of a meme I saw with two characters putting together a puzzle that had been improperly stored, so the puzzle box didn't show the right image. As the pieces fell into place, it was clear that the puzzle hadn't been stored in the proper box, but one kept insisting that until they had all the pieces (of which they were missing about 2 or 3), the other couldn't say for sure it wasn't a duck and insisted that it was indeed a duck.
There is no room for reasonable doubt at this point. You either acknowledge that it's Hellraiser, or you don't. Emphasis on "acknowledge". Nobody genuinely believes it could be anything but Hellraiser.
At this point, it is basically that all the hints point towards main aspects of Hellraiser, while all of them still fit in minor aspects of FNAF. Out of all the teasers, there hasn't been any yet that straight up cut FNAF out.
Do I believe it is FNAF? No. And I'm happy. Since I know for a fact it is Hellraiser, I'm even gonna watch the movies.

RDT_20210813_1901541378373895227480566.jpg
Man, the current teasers spell the exact name of the Hellraiser franchise, the year it was realeased, a pin that doesn't appear in game, a gambler caged... And maybe more.
For Springtrap, they would at max spell a catch phrase, and a date that appears at some point in the game.
Springtrap can't be straight up ruled out, but at this point, it is just like they would tease a movie called "Pink", but people would still believe it is a Barbie Doll Killer because she wears pink too.

I forgot to multi quote, sorry. I just wanted to comment about your comment regarding rank working in other games because you say it isnt a pure grind and you are completely wrong about that. I come from the fgc (fighting game community) which i must admit is very different than the dbd community in some ways although its mostly about "mindset" comparisons that i wont get into here. Ranking is very much a grind in other gams, fighting games in particular because you have to get exp and grind not just mastering your character (execution, reacting to things etc) but you have to grind the match-ups as well. People seeing this statement and bring up the online vs offline debate but regardless of whatever reason for playing online or off your still grinding the mu and preparing for tournaments. DBD is obviously not a competitive game but they are taking the one thing that you can use to make assesments for a game like this away and like i've said before its a turnoff and personally i think its a mistake but time will tell.
I think I really didn't phrase it well.
While in other games, the ranks might be even grindier, the main difference is that you don't have to rank in a max of one month. You have the rest of your life to do so.
Dbd's ranks are grindy and you only have a month to grind them.
For someone that plays as much as me, reaching high ranks after a long pause, and of course many resets, isn't easy.

Watch 1-3. 4 is okay but 1-3 are the best.
Everything after 4 needs to be avoided like the plague
Why would I ever avoid the plague...
-
I don't play this game crazily. If you want proof, I don't think I ever made it past level 35 in any rift. Heck, as someone that knows this game for more than 5 years and has been playing for almost 5 years, I only have 1200 hours.
With this amount of playtime, I've literally never been red rank. With MMR on, I always have at least a red rank in my games. Which probably means that I am indeed a purple-red rank player, that plays very little, and never gets to rank up fast enough.
And don't get me wrong, I never struggle to rank up. When I play more than usual, I get to purple ranks. But that usually happens right before reset.
Ranking works in other games because it is not pure grind. There are things like jumping over ranks, qualification and most importantly, no reseting. All that happens at most is a season end which means you have to requalify. If you do very good, you might as well be higher than before.
-
I'm really excited! I've never seen Hellraiser, because I always thought it might be too creepy for my liking, but since it will most likely come to DBD, I guess thoae free movies sites will be welcomed in my life.

The game's WIN CONDITIONS are killing or escaping. The emblem system is a grade based on what you did in the match. You don't 'win' by getting all Iris and you don't 'fail' by getting all Bronze.
You win by escaping or killing.
You lose by dying.
The Killer's win/loss is more of a sliding scale of HOW MANY he killed. One could say he 'barely wins' at 1 kill to 'completely wins at 4' and only 'loses' at 0.
But the game's win conditions, as programmed into the game, are killing and escaping. This is a hard fact; the Killer does not 'win' if he tortures everyone to 2 hooks and 12 downs each, and then they all escape.
Lmao I think you are stuck in 2017. The amount of kills doesn't dictate the win result since emblems were implemented. You could literally kill all 4 at 5 gens with a nurse infectious slug and de-pip, getting Entity Displeased as a result. You could get a Myers tombstone 4 k and get a de-pip because you literally never played with the survivors, just plain out threw them out of the trial when you caught them in tier 3.
Lmao and what do you mean by "you don't win by getting all iris". The game never had a win condition anyway, but you could consider the final outcome screen the win/lose one. And as for killers, they have 3 kinds of wins, all of them based on how much they played with the survivor.
But don't say how you win please. Since the devs never stated this, it is up to everyone to decide their personal win condition.
-
@Power_Guy said:
The Killer player wins by killing people. There's no victory condition for torturing the Survivors.
So if the Killer player's goal = To Win. Then To Win = To Kill. Therefore Killer's Goal = To Kill.
'Torturing the Survivors' is just fluff. By the mechanics of the game, the Killer gets the programmed win state by killing, not by torturing.
So 'I camp/tunnel to win' is a valid answer.
This is false. The role, the tooltips etc. all say that the killer is meant to squeeze all the hope out of survivors, play with them, torture them, all before killing them.
The game's emblem system literally awards you for having longer and interesting matches. Quick matches or camping/tunneling ones usually hurt your emblems a lot.
And that applies for survivors too. Try to gen rush and all your other emblems are bronze/not existent.

Emigrate to Canada.

Myers using the scratched mirror addon. It locks him in tier 1 forever, however it allows him to see survivors through walls in a 32m ranged while stalking.
-
So we have...
1) RAISER spelled from the letter hunt
2) HELL spelled by the spectrogram of 4 audio files given by the devs
3) 4 audio files, the number of cenobites (as far as I know, all the cenobites are the same power level and importance, Pinhead is just more known)
5) Pin on the wheel
6) Caged Ace
It is Springtrap people comme on...

Sole survivor is far more useful that dark sense, even without object. It's far more useful than dark sense as it prevents information.
No mither is a niche build, which means it has its place
Monstrous shrine is pretty weak...but dark sense is still weaker
There isn't anything dark sense does that any other perk can't do better. You get up to five intervals of information, and that's only if your team gets gens done. If your team gets axed off before you can complete a single generator, which does happen from time to time, you were better off with sole survivor.
Dark Sense serves no purpose of value, informing a player of information that was otherwise accessible without it. Not only that, but undetectable is a thing that worsens its value. Any other perk is significantly better than dark sense is in its current form.
If dark sense ignored undetectable, only then would it be remotely useful.
You're entitled to utilize your perk slot any way you want tho, the fact is that it's simply a waste to use dark sense.
Lmao I never used dark sense. There is no way you just said dark sense is weaker than ms. But anyway I really don't feel like arguing about this.
Anyway, as you probably don't know, sole survivor now cancels ooo because ooo needs the killer to see your aura for it to work.

Alert is better. Kindred is better. Literally, dark sense is the weakest perk in the game.
As long as stuff like Sole Survivor, No Mither, Monstruous Shrine etc. is in game, a perk that shows the killer's aura after every gen and most notably, after the last one, is anything but the weakest.
-
I will now try to play killer.
For survivor tho, it usually goes like 1 match with potato team mates and sweat lord killer, and the next one with the best team mates ever and first time killers (no exaggerating, last game the killer literally said it's their first time playing). What I have noticed however is that 98% of the killers have Thana and Sloppy, with Tinkerer too. Not fun to be honest.
-
Because it is unfun to face. As simple as that. You got your answer, there's no counter argument. It doesn't matter if it is needed or not, that's not your question. "Why do people hate tunneling?"-It's unfun to face. End of discussion.

It sounds like a very limited issue, you're basically the only person I've heard of that's had that happen.
You can't disable something just because 1 or 2 people are having an issue.
Not to mention how DC penalties prevent DBD players from acting like literal children who quit if they don't like the smallest thing.
I hate people with the mentality of "if it ain't happenin' to me, it ain't real".
Sorry, but just because you didn't encounter this issue, it doesn't mean only 2 people have it. I personally couldn't play DBD at all this spring, every 3 or 4 games I would get this pop-up, saying I have no network connection, with the only thing that can be done is pressing ok, so basically the game says "you HAVE TO press ok now, which will kick you out of the game that you are currently winning, give you a penalty, waste your item, addons, and offering".
This only happened once during the summer for me, but as I can see, there are a lot of people still have this issue. And if you don't believe, I recall seeing a few big streamers encounter this too, with the one that comes the closest to mind being Scott, on Red Forest.

So someone made this post reporting a layout change of Dead Dawg that has appeared since last patch, and instead of moving the thread to a proper sub-forum, Mandy simply said they are looking into Dead Dawg and immediately after, Dead Dawg is disabled, with a twitter post containing an image (in those few minutes that Mandy acknowledged the issue and the Twitter post was made, there's no way someone had time to ss dead dawg, photoshop an image, decide to disable Dead Dawg etc.).
The same person provided this link where you can see the infinite, and it starts beautifully facing the salon, where you can clearly see there's no S.
