Jurassic Park would be very cool! I can't help imagining a massive T-rex with Tinkerer on bursting through a breakable wall and scaring the living BEEP out of you lol.
I've probably said this one before but Man On Fire or straight-up Sahelanthropus from Metal Gear Solid. Just having Sally shoot his explosive stalactites at survivors, and have his missiles and mist bomb would be kinda hilarious. Although very survivor unfriendly, maybe they can hide in cardboard boxes and be safe from everything once per trail.
-
I've had the same experience with a slugging sadako who was pushing desperatly for fully condemning everyone just so they could mori the entire team, with a build that ofc worked very well for this type of gameplay. After that match finally ended I just stopped playing this game. Not worth my time or energy.
BHVR is amazing at saying that they care, but they don't really show it. How long have people been giving feedback on face-camping, tunneling and slugging all match? They mentioned being able to pick yourself up as an anti-slug solution months ago, but ofc that got scrapped.

the Killer impersonating a Survivor hack is terrifying & should inspire the next killer to be a shape shifter.
for anyone curious as to what I’m talking about, here’s a video I watched on YT last night above.
They could do that with an Us chapter. Where the killer can turn into any of the survivors, have no red-light, terror-radius, or HUD-icon indicator for X amount of time, a bit like Michael/GF.

I know but even with nurse, every chase lasted for about 20 seconds and 1 gen was done every single chase
Put on Jolt and send them to Midwich :) add LP and BBQ or AA, and you're all set.

I'm a console huntress main and every update they seem to just make it hard and hard to to have fun. Normally when I play her I throw on a bunch of aura perks and just run around going for shots don't care if I win or lose as long as I get some nice shots it was a good match. But the last 2 map rework and last few maps are absolutely atrocious for huntress. There's so much bs spread throughout the maps at chest level that 90% I'm a 110 m1 killer because I can't throw a hatchet because there's something there everytime. If it's not that then the hitboxes extend way over the actual object. So they seem to be pushing for only been able to hit survivors in animation locks because that's not fun.
Rant over.
Maybe try to zone them out and not just go for snipes.
A lot of the maps are horrible for several killers though, Billy comes to mind, but the same also goes for survivors. Some of the "loops" on Borgo are atrocious, and don't get me started on the killer shack in garden of pain. I don't really understand the devs' need to add clutter on every part of the ground on most maps, with the only exclusion being Shelter Woods.
-
A bad play at farming? The only times I've had this happen was when said player
FENGwas working with the killer 😅 -
I don't think it's as simple as just matchmaking. I almost exclusively play soloq, and there are people I get teamed up with who are really playing the game, not just playing hide-and-seek or there to do their archives and give up afterwards. Another thing I think also influences many games, is how you yourself are playing, and how well your team synergizes as a whole. Do they even bother with unhooking? Do they heal when necessary or take aggro? Or do they insta-DC at the sound of Nurse's screech?
What I genuinely love to
dotest, is see how my gameplay influences fellow solo players. I've had so many teammates play selfishly, to the point that it's costing the team, and the moment you do something for them, be it taking agro/healing them, etc. it oftentimes changes their behaviour as well. If I lose in those games, I don't even care, because people are at least trying to play the game.Above all, I think that the root cause might just be why people are playing. Are they there to just have fun and chill? Do their archives or a daily? Or are they in it to win? Considering this game unlike League for example doesn't have competitive/casual mode, it will always be a mixed bag.

Each to their own. I respect your opinion on the matter and true without intonation text often gets misconstrued.
Yeah I don't condone attacking each other over the forums, but if you post in an open online forum you gotta expect people might disagree with you.
If you post something downright egregious or completely ridiculous, you gotta expect someone will point that out to you also, which can feel like an attack sometimes.
Its an open forum so people are welcome to comment, the key point is to remember that when the dust settles its a gaming forum and is of no real consequence.
I honestly believe that people shouldn't hold a personal grudge against others over a gaming forum topic no matter how heated the "debate" might get.
Being on the receiving end of a lil light mockery does wonders for the ego too, I welcome people's dissenting opinions to anything I post because it makes for interesting discussion and that's why we're here, to talk DBD... warts and all.
And thanks, I started planting my garden so it has been a lovely day, I hope your day is lovely too.
Yes, I see what you mean. It is just a gaming forum indeed!
Aww that sounds very nice, I hope your garden turns out beautiful!

To be stuck in a 45 min game takes both sides to be not doing their objective.
My point isn’t survivor vs killer my point is just outright quitting when the game isn’t exactly what someone wants is bad form.
Coming to the forum to openly announce you plan to do that leaves you open for some justified mockery.
Morso when it’s in response to a bit of satire that was clearly missed.
I understand what you mean and where you're coming from. But I reckon you can also imagine that not everyone can read certain tones from text. However obvious it might be to you that it's satire, it might not be for someone else.
A 45 min is definitely people not doing their objective, cus I can't imagine players would like to face that again and again.
I agree that it's in very bad taste to leave a game, but I wouldn't mock someone either. But that's just me. You have yourself a lovely day!

But can't you see how that kind of selfish attitude lends itself to single player games over online games.
Basically you can't manage your time and anyone you play with has to pay the cost for that if the scenario doesn't suite you, that's a terrible attitude to have.
You are free to do it but it does make you a bit of crappy person to play with, I'd recommend single player games from now on.
That same logic as to having a selfish attitude also applies to a killer who refuses to do their objective for more a long period of time. Which is considered holding the game hostage, when you're quite literally refusing to do your objective (which goes without saying that it applies to both sides).
You can't blame players for not wanting to be stuck in such a match, though obviously quitting a match isn't a solution. An overall timer to the game could possibly solve it.
-
@Bot_Salvo88 said:
All of this can be fixed by a timer in the match. It's so simple. 30mins at max if you have to over exaggerate (even 15 or 20 should be fine). Once all the gens are done, the timer disappears since there's already the end game collapse that does its job.
This would be a godsend.

I don't think Mind Control will ever happen as it's a pvp game. It's one of those mechanics that works better when using it against npcs rather than pcs.
Evil Dead did do a pretty solid job with this aspect. It was very fun on both sides, wasn't too oppresive, but allowed the killer to do a bit more than the average gameplay allows you to do. Maybe DBD could do something similar with an Ash Vs Evil Dead chapter.
-
Whether it's Alien, Predator, or another RE chapter (plaga Krauser 👀), I look forward to it.
Overall, I hope we get some nice new perks :)
-
As far as I know, it's in the works. BHVR acknowledged that they were going to make them more equal sounding.
-
Blight himself? No. Some of his add-ons? Yes.
I don't think how a streamer plays a certain killer should influence the game that much. Because they dedicate so much of their time to this game, more so than the average player.

They didn't really address the issue with skull merchant in this patch. Other than that I don't really have much of a problem. They do need to do something so it's not miserable to play against her. Not even from a balance perspective but from a fun perspective. If something is this unfun it's bad for the game.
They didn't address that not the hard tunneling and face-camping. I don't think they're going to either.
-
depends a lot on the time of day. After 23:00h, it's usually more red pings. Though I don't see them before that time.
-
I couldn't agree more. Even with games where you can see that everyone is really doing their best, it's not enough. And if I have to see another SM holding 3 gens and not going for ANY chases for 40+ minutes istg I will uninstall, kidding I'll just become killer main and to hell with survivor archives lol

There's no infinite on any map any more. There used to be one on old Headonfield that allowed you to literally be on that window literally whole game until game shut down (this one got fixed even before the map got shut down).
There's no such a thing in game any more. The closest thing to it is dead dawg saloon main if u know how to fast vault from that difficult side that one window and use it with the other one on bottom floor - but even in this case killers gains a distance a little.
There are though: Garden of Joy, Swamp and Badham still have them, they don't always spawn but they exist. Edit: I forgot Borgo and DDS.
-
Yes, in the cases of BW and NOED, the wisest course of action would be to 99 gates, that is if you want to risk saving your teammate(s). This also gives the killer another chance at possibly downing/hooking more survivors. So it's a risk for both sides and can be equally rewarding, for survivors they can get 4 people out, for killers they could activate BW and get more kills.
-
I think it sometimes does. Because I used to notice this from time to time on old Eyrie and Swamp.

Let's see if devs will need to revert the changes first before you put final nail into the coffin for survivor gameplay...
That's a bit dramatic. They already changed a lot of the PTB nerfs, and maybe they will again afterward. My point has to do with infinite windows on maps, not the entire survivor gameplay or every window and so on. If you had actually read what I'd suggested you would've gotten that.
-
@camping_site said:
Let’s see how many survivors will be left after next update with dead hard and selfheal effectively killed. And then you can ask for next survivor nerfs.
That's not a nerf to survivors but to the maps that are unbalanced.
-
I certainly don't think that you're the only one. Even some of the biggest survivor streamers have a couple of warm-up games or run into walls mid-looping or miss-time things. I mean you're only human. Practise makes perfect, which you clearly have a lot of as killer, so it shouldn't be surprising if the same applies to you when playing survivor.
-
@HugTechLover said:
Lately survivors have been just giving up at a much higher rate lately. Anybody else experiencing this?
I’d say 65ish percent of the time, the first person I hook just drops themselves, causing a domino effect of quitters.
I even changed killers from blight to see if that was the issue; and nope, survivors still giving up and quitting. I’ve started slugging anybody who tries to give up early on as a way to discourage it. Why even Que up if you’re just going to quit on your team?
Props to the survivors that put up a fight regardless of the situation.
Yep, IDK what it is. Also, I've noticed that almost no one bothers to go for hook saves?! Even with kindred when they KNOW it's safe. I sometimes genuinely feel bad for their teammates, and for hooking them 😅
-
I mean, you can also just use the wallhack key and save the perk slot for something more useful.

This isn't bait. I fully plan to hit survivors off of hook from now on unless I see an Exhaustion perk during the first chase, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.
There's not really any incentive not to do this at this point.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3393180#Comment_3393180
In case you haven't been keeping up with the dev notes, they changed DH again since the PTB. Now it activates whenever the survivor who has DH is unhooked or unhooks themselves. That's why this post was made.
In case you did keep up and you meant exactly what you said, I don't care about points; if I got 7K points and everyone else gets 40K points, but I somehow got a 4K, that's good enough. Really doesn't matter to me which survivors got which scoring events; I just want to keep DH from extending the next chase by 30 seconds because they managed to time it right at a pallet in the only area of the map that isn't a deadzone when there's only one gen left.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3393181#Comment_3393181
Yeah, I made fun of people who complained about DH before its first nerf, but then my MMR went up, and I started facing survivors who know how to loop.
Even back then, you're right, it wasn't that big of a deal because I had my Ruin/Undying crutch to fall back on.
But it seems that survivors get to keep all their crutch perks mostly unchanged, and I don't get to keep any of mine; the only thing I can do to keep myself above water is to play without them, which means playing mean and being aggressive.
The fault in this logic is that you're making it an "Us vs Them" issue when it isn't. DH had been changed, same as CoH, Self-Care, Iron Will, and the list goes on. IDK if you're being serious or not, but stating that none of the survivor perks have been changed and only Killer perks have is being wilfully oblivious/in denial. I get your frustration, but come dude don't pretend like the Devs haven't been trying to balance A LOT of things on both sides. Is everything perfect? No. But at least they're trying.

Well, wasn't the argument for the ptb version that it encouraged the tunnel anyway?
At this point, I mUst camp and tunnel is the default cop out for everything and its opposite.
A change is made ---> it makes me camp and tunnel to counter it. The opposite change is made ---> it makes me camp and tunnel to counter it.
It's always something else that decides, never your volition.
You create the catch 22 in your head and then ride it to justify yourself.
If you want to camp and tunnel, just do it and take responsibility for your choices. Trying the most sideways arguments to rationalize it because you want to feel validated with yourself and others it's just an exercise in futility.
This is the sanest comment I've read on the forums in a while. Thank goodness people like you still exist.

Never had an issue with DH before its 1st nerf, didn't have one after its nerf, and certainly won't have one after this patch.

I would personally prefer to use Pop Goes... it's normally the only regression perk I bring anyways.
I think it is the limited use factor that does it, I do not like the feeling of "you can only use this ___ amount of times", it feels like I am punished for playing too well because Im just stuck with an empty perk slot for the rest of the match.
But this goes for most of the perks. They have a temporary function most of the time. You can use BW, NOED, Adrenaline, Unbreakable etc only once, and then it's wasted perk slot.
@ OP, DH is now basically another version of BT and OTR. It has zero value before hooking a survivor, so no extending chases early-game, and so on.
-
They did nerf healing. Did you not read the bits about medkits and CoH? Or were you too busy finding an excuse to justify being toxic??
If it bothers you so much, just take break or don't play, really simple :)
-
Your title should be "being chased is fun", since that's what you're actually describing.
I feel like more and more people don't even know anymore what tunneling/face-camping is and just throw around the words they hear 😅
-
I understand that it can be annoying, especially when people are being rude in EGC. But honestly, it's not like they had a gen-rush build, or were sabo-squads that sent you to a certain map to abuse boil-over etcetera.
Turning end-game-chat off might help a lot. Also, everyone has bad/horrible games sometimes, maybe take a break or play during different times/days? Or pair up with your friends and play a couple of customs. Do something that is fun to you and makes you happy.

As much as I like this idea, because it also kind of goes well with Mikaela being a witch, and having vengeful spirits would make sense (like the Spirit lol), it goes against the killer's main objective. I agree that it isn't fun, which is why I miss the days when most killers used BBQ & Chili, it was such a good perk that incentivized not camping/tunneling. It wasn't OP, had a great non-perk-related counter; lockers, we need more perks like that.

not much does against the s tier killers correct but against the rest of the "viable" killers really? with a straight face you say a nurse game is going to be as hard as a game vs a trapper?
i never guaranteed anything anywhere in my post...i just said survior is still going to be ez mode even with all the rng elements (unless you want to argue somehow that killer is ez mode you can state your facts as well). it is my opinion and i wanted to discuss why people are whining about taking one or two perks to counteract the healing nerfs.
autodictact stacks and you don't lose the bonus...longer healing time means more skill checks which means you get the efficiency from the perk in 1 to 2 heals go test it out. there is also botany knowledge or inner healing for quick heals none of this changed.
if i am full of it because i gave my opinion (since obviously i am the only one with an opinion ^_^) then sure guilty as charged. i would counter argue that you can easily prove it to me that killer is ez mode with your gameplay.
Since you clearly have no clue as to what you wrote yourself, here let me quote yourself to you :)
heck even overzealous is getting a buff and you don't have to waste time healing...i guarantee your matches are going to be much shorter with the new changes and the nerfing of gen regression perks on the killer side. slap on a resilience/overzealous/stake out/fogwise with a good toolbox and you will still be able to listen to music and chill
You want to compare one of the worst killers to the best, just because you think that will get your point across, or make your "argument" have any weight to it? How often does the average player even face a Trapper? Most of my games are against Nurses, Blights and Weskers and an occasional Spirit to spice things up. You try to get skill-checks and save up your auto-didact while S-tier killer or heck even B-tier destroy your team with the thorough healing nefs :)
BTW, once again, I never stated that EITHER role is better or ez mode in comparison to one another. You did.
-
I mean that's how clickbait works, and how they get something out of their monetised content I guess. But I do agree that it gets very repetitive, negative, and spammy. I don't think some of the player base needs to add any more negativity to their POV 😅
It would be nice to see more people make content with the bright side of things and constructive criticism!

not sure what accurate data that would provide since i would be rolling the dice with every game since you know random...i could get 3 other comp level survivors or 3 "i just bought the game today" survivors...play swf there are always posts looking for people on xbox not sure about other systems
you can prove to me how gen efficient you are or what do you do during the match? if you arent in chase you should be on a gen right?
all you need to run for this new patch is autoditact (2 skill check hits is the same as old healing) or botany knowledge for the 50 percent heal increase...med kits are still good for 1 full quick heal and with built to last/streetwise another one
You're literally countering your own initial post. Everyone gets pitted with randoms, players of different mmr, ping, and so on, not just you.
Besides, you're the one going on a tangent and "guaranteeing" that playing survivor will be easy mode, if you're so full of it, how about you prove it, without whining about the most basic nonsensical mechanics everyone faces.
I'm not the one here calling playing survivor gg ez, you are. And you're utterly hilarious if you think that putting on Autodidact is always going to help you/guarantee you of X amount of skillchecks. None of that does jacksh*t against Nurse, Blight and Spirit.
-
Hook them. If they get saved and are back, I'll just let the game continue like normal. If they die, then they die and I'll let the other 3 go. Simple as that.

the medkit and circle of healing changes are also needed...it was always ridiculous that survivors could heal mid chase (and very easy to do all you need is to predrop pallets and heal quickly)
as for killers you still are going to need more chase and aura reading perks than gen regression and try to get those downs as quickly as possible

SoloQ will be obliterated anyway. Just as killers. We're probably going back to where some top tier killers and high level SWFs are dominating everything.
In my opinion the healing nerfs were too heavy. Altruistic healing was never an issue and shouldn't be touched but making perks completely useless cannot be the answer.
Could not agree more
