I won't be buying the chapter myself. BHVR needs to step up and especially speed up improving their game if they want anymore money from me.

exactly.
like, you'd still have tbaggers, but as for the rest. c'mon, I just want to signal the nea who ran into the locker right in front of me that I KNOW she has head on, and I have a bit of time to burn.
On topic, I do not want Killers to have gestures. If you need to do a gesture. The all-time classic is the "nod".
Survivors definitely could need a few more. Like a "shoo / go away" gesture. Or a "stay quiet / hide" gesture.
-
Because BHVR likes money and want you to spend yours.
-
And that's why you never ever buy stuff right away. Wait for others to buy it instead and make a logical assumption based upon their feedback and review. Being impulsive and wasting your money isn't an excuse.
-
Its a really easy way to actual combat gesture spamming/abuse.
Hear me out here.
Animation lock.
Aka, if you want to dab on the Killer, then you'll need to wait for the entire animation to finish before you can move again. Bonus points if you make most gestures last 3 seconds.

lmao how so? Completing all the challenges doesn't grant enough EXP and shards to complete the pass, it will get you to around level 30 of the pass from just shards. Sure they'll miss out on a SMALL amount of money, but for the benefit of their players why not change it? Who am i kidding, they dont care about their players, look at the servers lmao, hit validation was the BEST thing this game has had in 2 years, it was removed in 2 days, all because they don't know how to code projectiles properly.....
If you cannot complete the Rift by yourself with the time you spend and the challenges you complete, they're hoping you'll succumb to FOMO and start buying tiers. That's why.

Except, if people can't complete the pass while playing more casually (like me recently) i have no motivation to buy it.
That's a risk they're willing to take. A person who buy the Premium track and a good 30-50 tiers of the Rift is more valuable.

It does not seem that you're aware off these devs avoiding any concern from the others, giving no proper graphic options in +3 years, neither a decent rift pass living up to the rest.
This ain't about enough free stuff, it's about being just really greedy with their system, it's got some really atrocious grind all everywhere, the shards as mentioned come at the speed of a turtle.
Devotion rewards still not a thing, probably will take a lot more months, so...
You okay with all that? Cause it seems not okay to me.
I ain't OK with it. It feels like BHVR is just a few minimeters away from adding Lootboxes to their macro-transaction grind hell that's Dead by Daylight.
-
BHVR would never allow for that. Anything that helps a player work their way through the Rift isn't OK. They'd lose out on money from people buying Rift premium and tiers.

Some cheap Acer "gaming" display. I don't recall the name of it.
-
3 / 10.
Seems to have nice perks that'll be nerfed hard on release but I doubt I'll ever play him.
-
I'd never use such a sticker. If I needed a crosshair on my screen, I'd use the function available on my display to put one on. Won't even show up in recordings.
The future is now, old man.

Kill rate is greater than 50%. Statistically speaking, it is.
Although near the skill ceiling, (4 man meta swf teams), it's a different story. But they are clearly rare enough to not be able to push kill rate below 50%
I think there's a pretty reasonable ideas to why the kill rate is above 50%.
If you check out Steam's global achievements, you'll see that 14% of all survivors and 8% of all killers have managed to reach reach rank 10 respectively. That means, the global of majority of players don't play enough to reach deep enough into the ranks (or are just bad enough to never rank up) to get past it.
Explains why the kill rate is so high when there's so many low ranked players getting annihilated.
-
There should never be a punishment for wanting to play together with your friends.
Twist it on its head and add reward for those willing to play together with SWFs instead, and here's my suggestion;
- Add a lobby indicator for SWFs. Who's with who etc.
- Add BP bonus to Killer and solo survivors depending on SWF size;
- 2 SWFs and 2 solos. 25% Bonus BP to Killer and 50% bonus BP to each Solo survivor.
- 2 groups of 2 SWFs. 50% Bonus BP to Killer.
- 3 SWFs and 1 solo. 75% Bonus BP to Killer and 100% bonus BP to the Solo survivor.
- 4 SWFs. 100% Bonus BP to Killer.
Yes, there will be dodging from Killers.. but only in the beginning. No one wanna dodge each and every game and the sheer percentage of SWFs overall will make it a futile effort to try it. Things should be working as before within a few weeks.
-
As long as there's so much randomness involved in DbD's map generation, there's never going to be a DbD E-sport.
-
There's bad and good players on both sides. The main advantage of PC is the generally higher FPS but I think Console players can and will adapt to their environment and play just as good, if not better, than PC. Except for Killers.. who's so gimped on Console.
PC players got an issue with.. elitism? Entitlement? There's a reason why PC MASTER RACE is a meme.
-
No. They won't learn if they're treated like that.
-
BHVR never did anything to combat the things that the old Ruin fixed. Now Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes the Weasel are both being targeted for taking its place.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Because they have learned in the past that saying what they are planning to do is a bad idea.
People take their words as gospel and will just rage when the devs say something and are then not able to follow it up for whatever reason.
Best way to stop people from using your words against you is to say nothing at all
Lose if you do, lose if you don't. But that's a situation the developers themselves have gotten into by withholding information (or twisting it) and doing weird design decisions. I rather have them be honest and open with us, even if it'd end up putting more heat on them.
-
I think one major issue with the whole perk system in general is that there's 3 levels of each perk you can find in the Bloodweb. If a perk could be bought "at full level" from the get-go, it'd reduce the frustration by a lot.
That said, BHVR needs to stop being so afraid of making viable perks because the META has been so stale and nothing will ever change if they don't start stepping up. There's so much trash (or extremely niche) perks available that's not being used.
-
Not unless you provide video evidence as well.
-
My killer queues have gotten better but I suspect that's because there's so many survivors queuing up.
-
I'd like new kill animations as long as they're NOT purchasable via the in-game Store. Its free or nothing.
-
@Todgeweiht said:
All they had to do was get a dev and make him say "yes, we are aware of these frame rate issues AND we are working on them". Is it really that hard?
It is hard. By apologizing they're confirming the fact that they know they pushed out their game to a platform where it wasn't optimized for. DbD on consoles have been garbage every since it arrived there.

As far as I know, there is no limit regarding healing speed. We'll Make It does mention a 100% healing speed cap, but that's only referring to the perk itself.
Precisely. It boost healing speeds by 100% but it caps itself at 100%. Can be over 100% with boosts from Botany Knowledge, medkits etc.
-
I have a love-hate relationship with it where I love the gameplay itself but hate the players, community, the developers, their balancing etc.
-
You see, back in the olden days, it was popular to edit your save file to get yourself 100s of millions worth of Bloodpoints. The BP Cap was introduced as a.. hard lock. Later on, they tried to justify it as a way to stop players from P3 new Killers/survivors on release date because you cannot get anywhere far with 1 million BP (up to level 35-40 tops).
Its a relic of the past.. like a lot of things are.
-
@Almo confirmed to me in a comment I made in another thread that Survivors are just skins and therefore shouldn't be locked. Which is super weird since that's basically promoting last-second switching and other toxic behavior. Lock survivors in when there's 30 seconds left so that a Killer got time to change their setup if the Survivor(s) make a sudden change.

But when i play games i still get bloodpoints? Could it be a bug??
If you're over one million Bloodpoints, you cannot gain any from games anymore.
-
Oh, it worked! Awesome.
-
Good on ya.
-
Going over the cap via giveaways and promotional codes and gifts etc doesn't mean a ban. The cap is there to stop in-game earned BP.
-
I don't play enough to want to grind all perks once more.

Perhaps try and order the Killer's position in the tier list according to their position? Tiers are all over the place.

Half-baked, underwhelming perks don't cause problems after all. When you try to design good perks and you overshoot it, you have to spend time fixing the mess they cause. But when you design crappy perks and overhsoot, you get a decent one sometimes, like Surge. Good enough to be used on some characters, but still too gimped to shake the meta.
And if you are truly a master perk designer you try your best to make new perks that sound like they might be good with the use of seemingly complicated effects and long wordings, so players get hyped up for the new content, but who really are the same bland filler perks that nobody will use after a few days and the meta go back to the way it is. 🤡
I rather have them make actually impactful perks that shake things up than playing safe. BHVR have let the game's META be so stale that every game's the same.

Stuff's broken.

Yes but apparently this game its way to being a game with cooldowns on killers and perks...so bored..
BHVR's terrified of making strong viable perks, especially if they're Killer perks. Dragon's hold is a perfect example (one of Blight's perks) that have three (3) cooldowns in one perk. Slapping a cooldown on a perk in order to gimp it and hold it back is just lazy game design.
-
BHVR's design philosophy dictates that things of higher rarity shouldn't necessarily be better.
-
I rather remove the cooldown completely instead.
-
BHVR doesn't like strong perks.
-
Removing perk levels would improve the game so much.
Another way we could improve the game (by lowering the grind) would be to remove the 8k cap on each BP category in the game and make them count towards a 32k total instead.
A third thing we could do is rework the BP offerings so they're more streamlined (aka useful) and more rewarding to use. And i so happen to have made a post about that a while back → https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/174323/bp-offering-rework-idea

I'll 100% be fine with this just to correct the killers who seem to think I'm 100% in a 4 man SWF no matter what if I coordinate with my teammates at all using Bond. "HOW ARE YOU COMMUNICATING!?!?!?!" they scream to themselves while spamming SWF in post game no matter what I say when they get 0 kills and maybe 3 hooks...
Plus no one "should" care about depipping if it doesn't account for matchmaking now and going to be completely removed in the future anyway (at least what they're implying)... Especially if you're effectively getting double the bloodpoints by going against the sweatiest of 4mans - might even see killers give up less or straight DC if anything (hah who am I kidding...)
Not sure why this conversation was sidetracked so hard but literally what the OP said could potentially be fixed by what Pawcelot said.
Its sidetracked due to whataboutism. We're talking about X but since Z and Y are also problematic in a way, it just makes its way into the post. Happens in every single post on this forum and it sucks.

That’s actually not true. The same DEV later went on twitch and said that people misunderstood what he said. He meant to say that he had already fixed a lot of bugs. Not that he already made huge changes to the killers power. I’m sure they are making changes though since the PTB version is a complete mess.
Makes you wonder why they even push the PTB when nothing we give is useful. Giving feedback and finding bugs on a Killer that's already outdated is like.. useless?
-
Don't play killer. Wait several months. Login once per month to get rank reset. Profit.
I know this from experience since I've taken a break from DbD lasting six months or so.
-
There's a reason for that.
They want you to open you wallet and buy the tiers you need to complete the Rift before the timer ends. The Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) is used here to force interaction.

If I could switch to legion to get even more BP I'd like it even more. But overall I'd like the game to be less grindy so I don't have to play 1k+ hours to unlock all perk on every killer and survivor.
I'd probably use Doctor myself.

For a 100% bonus BP I'll take the sweaty swf; I'm gonna get a good 20-25k base BP.

You were the one to bring Spirit in the conversation first...
Pretty much what I mean. People wouldn't be as afraid of SWFs if they got a fat stack of BP for the suffering.
