There are killers who avoid swf and some others dont. Same goes for survivors, some fear the killers some others dont. When i said it wouldnt be because of fear i was talking about my experience.
I never said all killers dodge swf.This does not answer the question. The question is why it's not a double standard to say that Killers avoid SWF because they're scared, when you also say that if Survivors avoid the Killer, it's not out of fear. Please answer the question.

@Vietfox said:
This: "You say that's not fear, but then you also say that Killers who want to avoid SWF are just "scared", so why the double standard?"And how does this relate to your attitude regarding SWF or Killer offerings, exactly? I'm asking how it's not a double standard to say that Killers avoid SWF because they're scared, but then also say that if Survivors avoid the Killer, it's not out of fear?

@Vietfox said:
There are not because i never dodge swf nor mori or whatever makes the killer powerfulThis is not about you. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
-
@Vietfox said:
1 - remove the hatch2 - nerf ds, sc
3 - nerf looping
4 - make other killers as powerful as (or close to) the nurse.
5 - make gens to take longer to repair (or gather pieces to repair them)
6 - remove SWF
Don't you see a big flaw if all of these ideas became real?
I personally find it funny when someone asks for all this and yet makes fun of survivors by saying they want ez matches.
PS: feel free to add more of these suggestions if you think they have been proposed often.
Disclaimer: i've already said that swf needs a especial treatment and some small tweaks would be needed in the game.
- Yes, remove free escapes.
- Yes, nerf free escapes and a perk that renders hits effectively irrelevant.
- Yes, nerf (or remove) what used to be an exploit.
- Yes, make Killers powerful.
- Yes, make it so Survivors don't dictate the length of a match as much.
- Yes, remove a feature that completely shits on the balance of the game.

@Vietfox said:
So no, there are no double standards on what i've saidThere are, but you're too far in the rabbit hole to even see it. Unless you take an honest look at what you're saying and how the game is, you'll never see it. You're literally saying that if Survivors avoid the Killer because they're too powerful, it's not fear, but if Killers avoid SWF because they're too powerful, it is. That's objectively a double standard, and everyone can see it. Everyone except you, that is.
-
@Vietfox said:
Oh, but i never taunt the killer and i've said in this forum that doing that is simply stupid.
The difference with SWF is that a too overpowered killer would be something permanent, while swf is something that can happen or not.
Best comparation to swf would be a nurse with ebony mori, less likely to happen but more deadly than swf, and when that happens i simply play the game, dont try to dodge it by DCing.We're not talking about you, we're talking about the general behavior of Survivors. Why do Survivors taunt the Killer into chasing them? Because they're not afraid; because Killers aren't powerful and they know it. If the Killers were powerful, Survivors would not be taunting the Killer. They'd hide. They'd avoid the Killer.
SWF is in 70% of lobbies, according to the last known statistic. They're so prevalent that the devs are bringing up solo Survivors to be on par with SWF in terms of information, because it's the only way to properly balance the game now.
-
@Vietfox said:
Yes that was me, but what did you mean by near the killer?If Killers were actually powerful and able to completely destroy a Survivor 1v1, then Survivors wouldn't taunt them to try to get the Killer to chase them. They'd avoid the Killer at all costs. Any time the Killer came near them, they'd want the Killer to go away. You say that's not fear, but then you also say that Killers who want to avoid SWF are just "scared", so why the double standard?
-
@Vietfox said:
What? I'm not sure to understand what u meantWeren't you the one who said, in another thread, that Killers are scared of SWF, and it's why they dodge SWF?

Why do the really stupid threads get so much attention and the really well thought out ones fizzle out in a few hours?Answer:
Millennials.
That's just pathetic. Anything else you want to blame millennials for? The temperature in my city is 8 degrees lower compared to yesterday. Was that caused by millennials as well? No wonder nobody takes your generation seriously when you turn everyone else into scapegoats.
-
@slingshotsurvivor said:
Actually it is - both end the game. If a surv DC's prior to loading in the game adjust the number of gens. When a killer does it there is no game.You didn't get in a game when the Killer lobby dodged. They're not the same.
-
@Vietfox said:
Yes, told you that would be an awesome mod. But making killers absurdly strong wouldnt make them scarier, that is different.So when a Killer doesn't want to face SWF, you say it's fear, but when Survivors don't want to be near the Killer, it's something different?
-
@Vietfox said:
If every killer gets to be extremely challange/a certain death... Dont you think that would mean it's unbalanced for the other side? Needs to be challenging for both.Every Killer should be certain death 1v1, because that's how asymmetrical games work. It shouldn't be even remotely challenging for the power role when it comes to 1v1 the other side. The fact that it's more efficient to have one person looping the Killer while everyone else works separately on generators means there's a big balance problem.

This can't be for real otherwise all game companys would be broke in no time.Yeah, I call bullshit. Such a price would make publishers go bankrupt, because they don't get 40000 per patch; patches are essentially irrelevant in terms of sales. Probably just another publisher whining about how game development is super expensive, even though game-related profits have constantly increased.

Description: Currently the game if you're Amanda which she puts the reverse bear trap at the head of the survivors, and if there is a survivor in the map with the trap in the head, can safely exit the trap.
My idea is to limit this functionality in which if a survivor has a trap in his head is that it is active, when it goes into the hatch area, must activate the trap and immediately kill the survivor as those of the exit gates, is only that to survive the survivor must surely go to remove the trap and get out of the hatchThe issue is that if you're last person alive with say 1 gen left to power, you can't power the gen without killing yourself. also if you're the last survivor and have a trap and have to play by your idea the pig will just follow you just far enough away . That way they don't trigger the trap chase timer pause but instead let you get blown up instead.
If you get to close to a box they either chase you and down you or get you off the box. The end result is going to be the same, the pig gets a kill no matter what.
If there's one generator left to power, the hatch won't be there anyway, so you're "killing yourself" either way (or you can be smart and take off the RBT before you work on the generator).
If the Pig is following you but not actually doing anything, then you're relatively safe.

So I guess you would be okay if survs dc if they suspect a mori is being used then right? Right?Lobby dodging is not the same as DCing once the trial has started.

@Vietfox said:
If you expect toxicity i honestly dont understand why you keep playing this game. You shouldnt tag all survivors as toxics.I try to disconnect from the toxicity. Don't let myself get triggered, and leave at the end screen before I even see if I pipped.
EDIT: Keep in mind "expected behavior" is not the same as "all Survivors are toxic". When you play the lottery, you expect to lose. That doesn't mean everyone loses the lottery all the time. -
@chemical_reject said:
Yep I'm garbage. Survivors came up with the toxic behavior. Killers are so abused and under powered. Gotcha.Let me know when you're ready to address my actual points.
-
@Vietfox said:
Careful now, you are not being reasonable.
The match starts, survivor doesnt abuse of looping (a big problem for some killer mains here) and gets caught, killer is garbage and decides to camp for no reason.
Your behaviour only encourages to survivors to do everything you complain about.I'm being reasonable. Expected behavior for Survivors is toxicity, plain and simple. OP seemed like a weak link, so the Killer tried to break it to have an easier time with the rest.
Off-topic: No stream today because my mod/BF isn't feeling well.
-
@chemical_reject said:
Alright then I'll loop the killer for 5 gens so u killer mains can ######### more about how looping is cheating. Saying I'm garbage cuz I try to play in a fun non toxic way is stupid. Don't u have another post bitching about the hatch to go make?You're garbage since you call the Killer garbage. Losing to garbage makes you garbage.
Consider this: looping and toxic behavior is prevalent among Survivors. Is the Killer wrong for assuming you're just a boosted Survivor instead of a Survivor trying to break from the norm? Sure, you weren't trying to be toxic, but he has no way of knowing that. In his eyes, you're just a bad Survivor he can eliminate with ease, and so he does.

@chemical_reject said:
I wasn't even gonna respond to @Orion and his killer main sided logic. Now having said that other people have made some good points but I'm not asking for a "free pip" if I get caught cuz I decided looping isn't fun for me or the killer and the killer decides he's to lazy to go look for other survivors cuz he wants his 1k I shouldn't lose a pip cuz the killer is garbageYes, how dare I suggest that you shouldn't get a pip if you're worse than a garbage Killer and didn't earn the pip. Can anyone post the link to that article about scrubs?
-
@Nickenzie said:
As much as I dislike camping since it's definitely fun to watch a survivor die in 2 minutes while the survivors are already at the exit gate finished with the generators. I feel like you should be awarded more BP for struggling and gain a SLIGHT emblem bonus for struggling on the unbreakable emblem category.Why should you be rewarded for failure?
-
@Tsulan said:
I want the game to be balanced.
Problem is, it's very unbalanced towards survivor right now.And Survivors want it to stay that way. They want to control whether or not the Killer has anything remotely resembling a fair and fun trial. All they want is to be able to bully/humiliate the Killer.
-
You lost a pip because you got caught early without having done anything useful toward the pip. Earn the pip and you'll receive it.

@Bravo0413 said:
You can hook from all sides though... am I right? That's why the vacuum moves the killer to the front of the hook... it would look wierd and dumb if the survivor ended up on the hook but the killer directly to the left of it... I mean the suction to the front of the hook looks ugly as well but either way unless they implement turning hooks it wouldn't look right..Nope. "Hook vacuum" aligns the Killer with the exact spot they need to be to hook the Survivor they're carrying. Only that one spot allows Killers to hook Survivors, which is why they can be bodyblocked by the Survivors.

Because as i said at the end, it's not healthy when it's taken too seriously, not for them nor for the communitySome people find that fun.
-
@Vietfox said:
I get fun is subjective, but some people shouldnt be so worried for that. I've been destroyed by those squads more than once and i couldnt care less, hell, i'm also having fun when that happens. I take it as a way of learning and if i see that i have no chance i even "play" with them, like doing moonwalking or nodding at the end of the match.
I get some people takes this game more seriously than me, probably most of them, but it's not healthy when it's taken way too seriously.If you know fun is subjective, why do you offer your perception of fun as being relevant to what other people consider fun?
-
@Vietfox said:
Some survivors do DC as well, no complaints here, but that doesnt justify killers dodging either. I find funny when someone wants to play as a killer but takes time to cherry pick each team. I've never seen any killer from a movie not going for especific characters because they are afraid of them.
PS: you dont know if op waited till the end to switch. After a match my game sometimes automatically switches to dwight and i've pressed ready before i notice it.Why do you confuse "wanting fun matches" with "fear"? I don't have fun against a flashlight squad, even if I kill everyone. I also don't have fun against a bunch of newbies. I don't dodge, but I can hardly blame people for doing so when they know it's not gonna fun.

I’m talking about camping like face camping where that person can do absolutely nothing and gets no point because they were hooked and some people might say “just don’t get hooked” but the is a ton of situations where that’s not possibleWell, this is a PvP game. Maybe those who complain should play a sandbox game, if losing is such a big deal for them.
-
@deadbydaylightfan said:
I mean as in they wanted the kill not points sorry about thatIf all three buzzards Survivors are swarming the hook, giving them a free hook rescue would be the worst possible play.

Which Killer said that they camp for points? Camping is notoriously bad for getting points.

@fcc2014 said:
Killer bias a bit.....??? Remove NOED also they should be dead before it geta that point correct??? How about every end game perk??? Failure right?!?!NOED can be disabled before it activates at any point during the trial. Once 2 generators have been repaired, even if the Killer finds and kills all the remaining Survivors one by one, they can no longer prevent the hatch from activating.
As for end-game perks, unless you're suggesting that the hatch is an end-game perk, I don't see the comparison. Maybe it should be a perk. Hatch won't open on its own unless the last remaining Survivor has Sole Survivor equipped. -
@Baphomett said:
I'm lost. What does agitation have to do with chasing? It only has an effect when carrying a downed survivor...Maybe he's one of those who thinks Agitation is "bugged" and works even if the Killer isn't carrying anyone, despite proof to the contrary.
-
Just dodge the hatchet. Literally just turn in any direction.
-
@NoxiousOnnyyxx said:
Ha! Not when you have agitation and fire up.Agitation only works while the Killer is carrying someone, and even then, still makes them slower than their base speed. Fire Up relies on letting the Survivors complete generators, so they're winning anyway.
-
@Rattman said:
Why create some complicated solution for hatch standoff, its fine as is.Sure it is. /s
Killer finds the hatch first - hatch standoff, where the Survivor has all the power.
Survivor finds the hatch first - instant escape, where the Survivor has all the power.@NoxiousOnnyyxx said:
Because it gives the survivors a chance. They have have nerfing the survivors and their perks so much. Soon it will be impossible to get away from the killer.Bullshit. It's only impossible to win a chase as Survivor if you willingly choose to lose the chase by looping.

How do you know the host quit after he* saw* you switch to Laurie???I just wanted to provoke some thinking..
Bye ^^
The moment I joined the lobby, I waited a while then I decided to try and get better at being Laurie.
2 Seconds later I get a message saying I was disconnected from the host.Are you familiar with post hoc, ergo propter hoc? It's a logical fallacy wherein you connect two events that might not be related at all just because one occurs after the other. Try queuing up as Laurie instead of switching to Laurie in-lobby, see if that works. And another question, are you switching at the very last second?
I decided to start switching to Laurie after I join the lobby (Not at the last second) because I want to see beforehand "Are my teammates going to help me as a Laurie?" If they will, I will be a laurie, if they won't, I go as whatever they would work best with depending on their character (Like how David's perk We're Gonna Live Forever works good with Claudette's Perk botany knowledge so he can keep bodyblocking.)
If I join as Laurie regularly, half the time I get the same message, "You have been disconnected from the host."
This is the reason I am begging for Dedicated Servers to come out soon. So I don't have to suffer because the killer wasn't up to going against a Laurie.Since when do dedicated servers stop lobby dodging? (That's what we call a non sequitur.)

The Clown is not the fastest Killer. I don't have the patience to read the rest of this poorly designed image (seriously, just write it like a normal person making a thread), but I'll bet there's more false information there...

A good point as well. I once had to go AFK after killing a Survivor because I had someone at the door. The Survivor assumed he'd done something to piss me off, but the truth was that real-life simply took precedent over the game.

Because characters don't have their own perks or anything, and DS is never used by Survivors.
I've never used DS except for several months back when I tried running it for 6 matches. I forgot I had it the 1st 5 and the 6th was at rank 12 against a Freddy on Thompson House. The other 3 quit as soon as they found out he was killer. I was left alone with 5 gens to do and got to use it right before I got hooked.
I ran it on Laurie just to get her Adept achievement and haven't looked back on it since. So no it's not always used by survivors just as Noed, Ruin, Devour Hope, Thrill etc are used by every killer. I've even had Billy's use TI in their builds.
I'm not saying it's 100% certain, but it's a lot more likely to see DS on Laurie than on any other Survivor simply because it's her perk.
