Yeah they should, as long as they don't hold the game hostage. And if they do, that's what the report system is for.
With your logic, all complaints about hook bodyblocking are now invalid.
True, just stay away from the basement during a chase.
Complaints about hook bodyblocking stem from the fact that facecamping was called an exploit for doing the same exact thing that hook bodyblocking does. By design, on the other hand, the Killer is supposed to be able to punish people for going into the basement. Do not compare the two.

No, the devs are the ones who want chases to end in 30 seconds, on average. I'm simply pointing out that even under the best circumstances for the Killer, those who do not have a way to shorten chases are screwed.
Ugh. Seriously, kid, don't quote what the devs say as being anything close to balanced. That is a steep, rocky, painful road to somewhere we all want to avoid. It is a miracle that the devs started listening to their player base when they did.
5 gens. 90 seconds each. 4 survivors. 30 seconds chase each. Yeah, they don't know balance and never will.
Plus, those are not the best circumstances. The best circumstances is committing to a gen, getting pulled off, and the killer has a hooked survivor in 0 seconds of chase.
Since you started this comment with an intended way to demean my position, I'll just ignore you until you become civil.
-
@Lockheart said:
I'll make it really simple: Straight line.1) Lunge.
2) Survivors don't just go in straight lines. When they change course, you can see from being behind in the chase and take a shorter route.
3) M1 does not mean just flat out chase. You still juke and use mind games.
4) M1 killers is not something encourage or buff. Killers should have to try and use skill and abilities, just like survivors. No killer in the game is just meant to be an M1 machine. .And the best killer players know they have to do more than M1 in order to counter looping.Don't complain about M1 being under powered. That's just saying that playing bad is under powered.
As for looping: That is a problem... When the killer allows it. Killers CAN counter loops. All killers in the game have a way to counter it. However, it does still need fixing because the use of loops is easier than the use of counters. Rather than remove loops, just add more ways to counter them. The obvious change to pallet looping is for the entity to break a pallet used more than three times in a short time, same way a window is blocked temporarily if used more than three times in a short time.
1) Doesn't matter for the scenario.
2) They can see your route as you're going for it, since they have third-person view and can rotate their camera anywhere.
3) Irrelevant when Survivors can see everything you do.
4) Please tell me how the Wraith can counter looping if he's slowed when using his power, for example.Killers who do not have any way to win chases with their power need ways to shorten chases. This is a simple fact, because chases take too long.
You do not know what pallet looping is. It occurs primarily before the pallet is dropped.
-
@Lockheart said:
PS: You want to end a chase and get a kill in less than thirty seconds? Thirty seconds already means you can down three players back-to-back (IF each chase lead directly into the other) in the same time the fourth survivor can finish their first gen without using items...No, the devs are the ones who want chases to end in 30 seconds, on average. I'm simply pointing out that even under the best circumstances for the Killer, those who do not have a way to shorten chases are screwed.

If I understand your thread correctly, if a survivor started a chase against a killer at 10m with your conditions listed in your thread. It would take 40 seconds to down that survivor which is a lot of time just to down one survivor.I agree with @Orion because a simple chase that he wrote in his java script would take 40 seconds. If a simple chase is 40 seconds long then who knows how long a complicated chase would be if a survivor knew where every pallet was at and had DS. I don't see any problem with his claim, he's just saying that a simple chase takes too long and if we added more complications... this would take a lot more than 40 seconds which could cause the killer to lose. However I don't think a 5% movement speed increase is needed since it's really pallets that you see. I mean yeah in your script a 5% movement would definitely cut the case down a lot but a survivor won't run in a straight line at high ranks, they will find pallets and jungle gyms. Pallets need to be fixed and after that, we can look at movement speed. Hopefully this was the reply that you was looking for!

It is indeed the reply I was "looking for". You've shown that you understand the premise of the script, while also pointing out its flaws and limitations. You also criticize (one of) my proposed fixes with proper justification. All this while remaining civil.
This is the perfect example of constructive criticism, and everyone would do well to learn from you, myself included.

I agree with Orion. RBTs are meant to slowdown the match. Of course they have the ability to kill survivors, otherwise there wouldn't be a point to take them off, but it doesn't mean they should kill effectively.Keep in mind I also think they should at least not be designed to not harm Survivors. Right now, by the devs' own admission, RBTs are designed not to harm Survivors. You may want to revise your statement.

You didn't say "designed with the ability to kill", you just said "designed to kill". The two statements are not equivalent, and only one is correct. Own up to your mistake, it won't kill you.
If you know how to use it, it will kill your opponent. It is designed to kill if you know how. I don’t know how to communicate this to you without just rephrasing the same sentence. I was so I could help you understand.

I actually am starting to think our communication styles aren’t very compatible, so I’ll leave it at the statement that I don’t agree with you, and I don’t need to make you understand my view of the ability because in the end it doesn’t really matter as long as we are both enjoying the game. I’m sorry you’re displeased with her powers.
And I'm sorry you can't accept that the developers literally designed RBTs not to kill Survivors. I'm also sorry you're being passive-aggressive about this and that you can't admit you made a simple mistake.
I wasn’t being passive aggressive, I just didn’t proof read and realize how many times I apologized. Take them as sincere or don’t. And I don’t admit I made a mistake because I dont believe I did. I believe you view it as a mistake, but I also believe you just don’t understand
I take them as insincere because you're not apologizing for anything you did wrong (like not explaining yourself properly). You're "apologizing" for me not being able to understand you. This is the standard insincere non-apology.

They might remove them, but you still win the game because those traps slowed down the gen thing, giving you more time to kill them. They also work "as" Blood Warden.
Except I win consistently even without the traps, meaning the traps are irrelevant.

Why should they take the Pig more seriously when the RBTs don't even become an active threat until the Survivors decide they do?The reverse bear trap is the scariest part of the game for a survivor, I think. I honestly don’t get how you have so much hate for something in the game which I think is so incredibly effective.
When does the RBT become an active threat, instead of something you may have to remove at some point during the game? Right, when Survivors decide to finish repairing a generator. Oh, but you can see all the box auras, so it's really no problem. Just Sprint Burst on to one of them, find the key on the first or second try, boom, done. If you get really unlucky, you may have to search three or even four boxes with the full knowledge that you're not in any real danger because this is a Killer whose power is literally designed not to harm you unless you're braindead.
Main purpose of RBTs are to slow down gen rushing, and they do that job pretty well. Timer needs to last long and boxes need to be shown because it can turn into a "free" mori, although i would rather see boxes auras only when trap timer is running. Also if timer was shorter tunneler/box patrol pigs would turn RBTs into a safer mori.
I wouldn't mind the timer if they'd start counting down immediately, instead of when a generator is repaired. As it is now, either the timer needs to be shorter, or it needs to count down immediately. Keep in mind that the timer doesn't count down when the person is in a chase, so "tunnelers" (i.e.: chasers who focus on the weaker target) and box patrollers would just waste their time accomplishing nothing. Hell, there's 4 boxes by default, and the Pig has no idea where the key actually is, so unless they can be in four places at the same time, this is a moot point.
Yeah but the pig can always crouch so the survivor is no longer in a chase and timer keeps running. I'm not saying that it's a smart tactic, but happens, and when that happens you gotta accept your fate no matter what you do.
4 boxes, each with an equal chance of having the right key. This means the Pig would have to be at four map locations simultaneously, while also keeping every other Survivor from repairing generators (because 2 minutes and 30 seconds is a lot, assuming they've repaired a single generator after she got an RBT on someone) so as not to completely throw the game just to guarantee that one kill. It's arguably a worse tactic than camping, and camping is already ######### unless the Survivor reward it.

Imagine if a killer had a power that could reduce a generator from 99% to 0% with a single kick. That's what DS feels like. You've put in all the work, watched as the other side of the game has done their stuff, and you've finally moved forward with the..oh no, never mind. I guess I get to start all over again. And that's just 1 DS on 1 survivor. Forget about multiple DS perks on multiple survivors, flashlight saves, DH, insta-heal medkits, SC...Ugh. Is it any wonder why killers just want some of this stuff curbed a little bit?
That's why DS needs the following changes:
- Instantly consumed upon being picked up
- No longer an Obsession perk
- Survivor suffers permanently from the Exposed status effect (i.e.: one hit and they go down)
Problem solved. Chase time is cut in half instead of getting a 50% increase, and the Killer gets to decide whether or not he wants to take the stun and have to catch the Survivor again. In other words, the Killer gets the power, as it should be.
-
That's too long and would be a pain to code. Just go with what already works to minimize the chances of bugs...

Well. Maybe that says something as stealth killers as a whole... I'm hoping the new killer is a stealth killer and can change that.
The point of stealth Killers is that they can surprise Survivors and get one "free" hit, thus cutting the chase time in half. I suggested the removal of the TR for stealth Killers, but was immediately shot down due to it being "too powerful".
I believe all stealth killers should have an "ambush" attack that can only be used 1 time at the begining of a chase. To bad piggy got before wraith

I know what you mean. I just wanted the Wraith to be able to attack once while in stealth, followed by a long cooldown similar to lightburn.
-
I like the first and third ideas, with the exception of the tokens resetting in the first one. The fact that the perk is disabled should be a big enough detriment for the Killer. Otherwise, you have to keep wasting time to get zero benefit from your hex perks.
The second one sounds good, but would never work due to the time constraints the Killer has.
