I think you all missed the point of the converstion, should minor offenses be bannable? You consider them "minor offenses". The devs do not. Can you guess whose opinion actually matters?

They say that the "hot milfs in your area" advertisings sometimes do lead you to hot milfs in your area, but who knowsGo look it up, if you have the intellectual honesty to admit you were wrong.

Rules made by the company are indeed something that most true gamers don't really give a single crap about and why would they? Heck in germany even signing a contract like the TOS is not binding to us and can and will be overthrown in court easily if it breaches customerrights. Then those gamers shouldn't get pissy when they get banned for breaking the rules.
paid 60 bucks for a game that they ofc won't get back, yeah they have every right to be pissy esp if they actually did not commit a hatecrime but basically just paid 60 bucks to further somebody else's career who's just gonna spend the money on illegal ######### himself anyways.
They have no right to be pissy when they did things they knew would get them banned. Or worse, when they didn't even care enough to learn which things would get them banned. It was on them to prevent it. If and when you get kicked out of the apartment you're illegally occupying, don't pretend you're not to blame.

Saying something harmful like what? calling someone gay or stupid?Yes, that would be a couple examples.
If the goal isn't to insult or harm, then why say or do things that are insulting and harmful? If I kick you in the balls and say "Sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you", would you believe me?But i dont understand, why would someone get harmed for being called gay or stupid? it´s not the same as getting kicked in the balls, you must live with it.
How about if I just threatened you a lot and claimed it was a joke? Would you believe me?
Damn! someone hiding behind a computer told me he is going to kill me! i should call the police!
Again, maybe you're just too sheltered to know what really happens, but people who send death threats sometimes do end up killing the person they were threatening.

Are you really gonna be that kind of hypocrite? How many rules do you break daily? How many laws?
Heck, my whole life currently is based on breaking conracts, I wouldn't even have a flat if I was a standup honest guy (got this student-flat that is meant for students by pretending to be one)
I'm not a hypocrite. I break rules from time to time, like anyone else. Difference is, I don't get pissy if and when I get punished for it. People like you seem to want to break the rules and not get punished for it even when you get caught, which is the antithesis of any civilized society.

The amount of SJWs is already way to high. And a lifetime ban for something that was an obvious joke? Yeah totally not a PR stunt.
The amount of people who oppose basic respect because they think it's "SJW" is too damn high. Congrats on falling for common manipulation tactics.
It's a friggin role-playing video game and tbh I would count that as in character, but "homophobic slurs" seems to be a much harder subject than childrape in fallout 3 and shooting people on sight.
Stuff like this is why I regret coming to the west.
It's the rules everyone agreed to upon purchasing the game. If you didn't agree with them, you shouldn't have purchased the game. It's that simple.

I don't even bother reporting Survivors like that since I know nothing will be done. For a dev team that claims to have 200+ people It's astounding that they couldn't focus on getting a half decent report featureIt's because you don't bother reporting that nothing is done. Peanits has shown time and time again that reports are looked at and that bans do happen. It's people like you who make the system worse than it should be.

i dont get mad, i just find strange the fact that some people get so triggered because of some joke, being so sensitive is not good for anyone.I'd argue that blatant disregard for the rules is worse for the game than people taking offense to hate speech.
And yes, it is hate speech. It's the same terminology used by people who will happily announce their wish to murder all homosexuals, among other minority groups. Maybe you just don't get it because you're not part of a group that is still illegal in parts of the world.Dude, i am Mexican, i get """hate speech""" from americans all the time and i know when they are joking and when they are trying to "harm my feelings", it´s no big deal honestly, people like to make this kind of "dark humored" jokes all the time and until know they are getting attention for a completely stupid reason.
And in post-game chat, people are always just trying to be dicks.
Exactly, people are not trying to "harm" anybody, they are just salty because they lost.
And since it's against the rules, they should be reported and punished accordingly, just like in every other setting.
If i am honest with you i don´t understand how bans work in PC, i play in PS4 and it is almost impossible to get banned in the game, usually chats are manages after the game and you got to directly create a chat with the player you want to send a message to.
If i am reading your post correctly people get banned in PC chats for insulting others, am i wrong?
People get banned by BHVR for breaking the rules. Hate speech is a violation of the rules, so people get banned for it.
On console, the ban system isn't functional yet, but once it is, it'll be the same. -

However back on topic, they should add a detection system like the overwatch developers did.For example let's say someone said, "gay" in a comment. It will be automatically flagged and sent to a ACM for review in case it was a homophobic slur.
They don't have enough people for that.
-
@Theluckyboi Don't follow the rules, get reported. It's a simple principle. Yes, insulting people is bannable. Why do you get mad over that?

Woops! However you get my point, it's complete non sense in my opinion and should be more enforced.Note: Can I get in trouble for saying that? I don't wanna be BS'd again.
Dude, it's fine. Bisexuals are a small percentage of LGBT, so obviously you're going to assume two guys dating are both gay. It's basic statistics.
-
@Nickenzie said:
If your assumption is wrong then I think he needs to grow up in my opinion and understand that everyone - regardless of their sexuality - should be treated equally. I could care less about you being gay because I don't see that in you, I see an actual person just like everyone else. Every forum member, every DBD player, every person I see when I'm not behind this screen, and the people I talk to when I'm behind this screen are people just like everyone else. This should be more enforced in DBD in my opinion, it's just non-sense and it needs to stop.Test controversial
Just because my boyfriend is gay doesn't mean I am. I ought to report you for hate speech!
Note: I'm obviously kidding about the report, though I really am not gay. I'm bisexual.

You can't see temporary game bans and just because you think something should happen doesn't mean it will. You don't get to decide the punishment.
thats what you said
now My post is clearly about a racist person with evidence and me expecting a punishment
then you come and say just because I THINK it doesnt mean it should be ??You specifically said you expected a ban. They may or may not ban the person, I don't know. My point is that just because you expect a ban doesn't mean one will actually come through. Even if it does, you have no way of knowing unless it's a permanent ban, and even that doesn't mean the person was banned because of your particular report.
ok ok buddy
we are disagreeing on one simple point
I'm saying when I expect a ban for Racism it SHOULD happen
and what you're saying when I expect a ban for Racism it may or may not happenI'm saying that just because you expect something or believe something should happen doesn't mean it will. You are not a moderator nor a dev. You made the report, now the moderators will deal with it.

first off
1- I don't think Racism should be punishable, I know it is because devs had stated it
2 - second off I dont just think a ban should happen, I'm sure of it !
3- - I checked about soft bans whether or not they appear on steam profile, I saw that people say it does appear
now pls in case you want to reply . reply to all three points I mentioned1 - I didn't say anything about this, so I'm not sure what reply you expect.
2 - But not always a permanent ban, which is the only kind you can see on a person's profile.
3 - Those people are wrong. -

Kind of like what happened to totem fixes, DS nerf and Freddy changes. They are being worked on....for over a year. Oh, here's the thing I probably communicated wrong: My idea was that disarming will only give you the deep wound effect but without beeing injured. Or, the deep wound effect will only apply if ur disarming while injured.
Not both, that would be to insaneThat's essentially the same. The point of disarming a trap is to nullify it as a threat; it's a counter to the Trapper's power. You'd be punishing the Survivors for doing what they're supposed to do.

I did, and I think you're grasping at straws when it comes to name changes. You're essentially hand-waving away the differences to make it fit.
Umm, yeah some people do in fact go by a different name when they don't want to be part of a bloodline they dislike, also American and Asian people can make American and Asian children, read a bio book sometimes
You're just dismissing the differences because they don't fit your agenda. Under your logic, you could just as easily make any other characters be related. Just need to create a barely-plausible explanation for why basic stuff doesn't match (names, ethnicities, time periods) and boom, it fits.

You see, I get your point but. "Without killers you have no game" is flawed as no survivors also equals no game. So if we all quit then who really wins this stupid "mains" war.For every Killer that quits, 4 Survivors have one less lobby. For every 4 Survivors that quit, Killers have one less lobby. It's an asymmetrical game.
Well unless you count the people that swap over to the other side for faster lobbies like some have commented on doing. But I think survivors quitting is worse due to the higher volume of players since 4 is greater than 1.
All things being equal, one Survivor quitting is not as impactful (in terms of available lobbies) as one Killer quitting. That's all I'm saying.
