Of course they don't have something like this. And that surfing bug that happens to me almost every game is also magical when it could evade such a thorough process, I suppose.I didn't encounter it in the PTB, and I didn't encounter it in the live version either (as far as I could tell).

Almost every patch brings new bugs that can be discovered just by playing the game for a day.I usually don't encounter any bugs, and I know for a fact that the QA team plays the game a lot more than anyone else.
QA doesn't have some magical bug-detector wand that they can wave over the game's code and immediately find where all the problems are. -

The full perk rework contest
This is a contest in which every underused perk will be looked at, and the devs agree on turning that perk into the most upvoted suggested version of it.
****LE GASP****
That'd require actual community interaction. It'd require the devs to kowtow to Survivor demands, you mean. Survivors outnumber Killers 4 to 1 (or thereabouts). Any such vote would be flawed.
Oh, yeah. You're right. It's basically the survivors picking what perk they want, even if it is for killers..
Damn, haha. That's why community feedback is not accepted as the gospel truth. Or, as I heard Mathieu put it, is taken with a grain of salt.

Record it, keep reporting him, and send the recordings to BHVR (there's a form somewhere, but I don't have the link). Then wait and enjoy their ban.

YES PLEASE!!!The survivor gameplay as become so dull after 2+ years of fixing gen.
And I'm tired to carry people that don't touch gen all game.
Like [BAD WORD] really? why do I have to do 3+ gen by my own most game? what are the other survivor doing? Did I miss a patch and killer are able to chase 3 people at once?
I know, right? And since SWF would want to get everybody out, they'd be delayed in their escape (as opposed to now, where they can rush gens while one loops and get off scot free).
Solos would get buffed mechanically, but SWF would only be nerfed due to their own choices. -

To add something I forgot for me I'm not good at looping and so the chase while exciting is almost always going to end badly. I love to stealth around the map, especially on like say Autohaven where you try and sneak through the middle without being seen let alone caught. That to me evading the killer and enver being seen the entire match is fun and exciting and some killers hate that and so do fellow survivors. I'm not trying to give the killer an easy kill and I'm not trying to die like the people that blindly run in the middle in the open.
If I skulk around the entire map and don't get seen a lot of times I get props from the killer because they know they've been close, ie that gen I was working on or the totem I just broke. Sometimes they manage to get me and both sides get satisfaction knowing it wasn't easy.
I, too, prefer to stealth. IMO, it's more skillful to avoid contact with the Killer than to delay the chase.

Kill them. I don't trust anyone in this game when they imply that they just want to farm. Past experiences have shown that trusting them is the wrong course of action.

That’s what I’m thinking, I believe only certain people were affected by the bugs because I play as spirit often and I don’t have any of the issues I’m seeing, maybe it’s not a bug and just slightly different and some people don’t notice? Hell idk , all I know is my game worksI'm still not sure if I've experienced the bugged scratchmarks or not because I was playing Legion at the time and haven't been able to play since (RIP headset). The fact that your game works is exactly my point - QA can't find bugs that they don't experience.

The bugged scratchmarks and sounds, plus much much darker graphics (well, the third is not a bug, I think) made me stop playing this game. Can't play Spirit because of SC and sounds being broken, and maps like farm are almost unplayable because of cornblindness over 9000.Sometimes I even chase the survivor who is not making scratchmarks at all, I need to use Bloodhound and Sloppy to track my prey...
Not talking about bugged animations, because, well, I don't care about them.
I've been maining Spirit ever since the patch. So are you telling me that with my Stridor, I'm not getting the same power and control as Spirit mains before this patch?
Survivors are almost silent wothout Stridor and with Stridor they are as they were before the patch at best (as if you were not using Stridor). Also scratchmarks are bugged and tend to disappear while in chase.
So if they fix this, should I expect to DOMINATE, since I do quite well as it is right now.
Or you're just not experiencing the bugs.

You’re expecting the consumer to take up one of the developer’s jobs, just so they can receive a properly functioning product they paid for? That’s absurd.I'm not expecting anything. I'm stating the fact that these bugs did not appear in the PTB, and that if people were to help BHVR find bugs, we might have better releases.
I've never experienced any of these bugs in the PTB. Not a single one. In fact, I don't experience the vast majority of the bugs that people complain about (cue someone asking if I've never experienced this or that bug), and therein lies the problem with your ridiculous expectation - nobody will ever experience every bug, and some bugs just won't show up on certain systems.
The devs don't have money to spend on computers containing every hardware and software combination known to man, and while they are spending more money on hiring testers and whatnot, it's an ongoing process that will never be perfect because no team will ever find every bug.
You, as a consumer, can help make it better. They've given you the opportunity to help them make the game better for everyone, but you're saying no because "it's not my job". You're like the guy who throws trash on the ground because "it's someone else's job to clean up" and then complain that the streets are dirty. Yeah, it is someone else's job, but if you just put it in the trash can like you're supposed to, it makes their job easier and makes the streets cleaner.
They're doing their job; QA staff have more hours in this game than any player, and they're hiring new staff. However, no QA team will ever find every bug. -
@ModernFable said:
Every patch for every game is expected to have bugs, that’s just how coding is.Having bugs on a specific Killer or Perk isn’t terrible and is acceptable. Not ideal, not good, but acceptable.
That being said:
Breaking the game’s audio and visuals to this extent, when they are crucial to any game, but especially Dead by Daylight.
That is unacceptable and this patch shouldn’t have come out as is.
The problem is that none of these bugs came up during QA or the PTB. Maybe if more people would actually use the PTB (to try to find bugs), instead of saying "nah, I should get paid for trying out new content before it's even released", we'd all have a better experience.
-
@sorrowen said:
Lets see the new map has many, plus speed limiter is busted,DH is busted as usual but that is a normal thing. I just want competence lolI played on the new map back in the PTB. Didn't find any bugs. Did you have any specific bugs in mind?
You do not want "competence", you want "perfection". Any piece of code more complex than "Hello World" will have bugs, and some of those bugs will fail detection. It's simply not possible to find every bug in a piece of code.
-
How many bugs are acceptable, and how many bugs does the current patch have?
-
Define "finished state". I know you're exaggerating when you say patches break everything, but I'm curious as to what you consider to be a "finished" patch.
-
I proposed something similar to this in the past - make all windows unidirectional, one-time vaults that needed to be reset after each use and replace pallets with unidirectional, one-time crouchwalk spots that also needed to be reset after each use. It'd cut down on looping and make map design easier by making loops more predictable.

If its bannable or only a tolerated option can you just give us the option to unlock it ingame BHVR?
no. its only changing the text file fps. ive been doing it for ages uncapped fps! its not actually modifying a file just changing its default value. dont mess with any other actual file you will be good
"its only changing the text file fps"
"its not actually modifying a file"
I mean, at least be consistent.@Crythor, I'm just going to point out that @Peanits is an actual, bona fide mod. He handles reports and hands out bans. He's an official, if you will. One of the requirements of his job is that he needs to be informed about what is and isn't bannable. So if he says it's "use at your own risk", then it's "use at your own risk". The devs will not unban you if EAC gets twitchy over the changes you made to the game files.
So ask yourself, is it really worth it to ignore the people who actually know what they're talking about in favor of a slightly higher framerate if it comes with the risk of a permanent and irrevocable ban? Or is it better to just tough it out and wait for better optimization? I know what I'd pick. -

I’ll give you that, it’s entirely possible I’m wrong and you are leveled up on both sides right now , I was just taking jnto account the last stream I saw you do when the new content came out.Well, I don't bother leveling up Survivors unless I want their perks, and I already have all the perks I want on Jake (thanks to the Shrine), so I did not level up any Survivors besides Jake. I'm also mediocre as Survivor at best, meaning my Survivor rank will be much lower than my Killer rank, especially because I prefer stealth play.
And yeah, a day or so after that stream, while I was playing with my BF, my headset broke. Now sound only comes out of one side. -
@OrionsFury4789 said:

Also, I do play games on my own time, outside the stream. -
Perfectly reasonable QoL change. I support this.

Yea because a rank 20 knows sooo much about what goes on for a survivor , you say they abused it but killers abuse it every day and it sometimes takes forty minutes to find a damn match because of it, I can’t wait till you cry babies get your lobby dodge taken away, this game will be in such a better place than it is right now , killer mains are the whiniest bunch , survival rates under 50%? Well we blame people who dc once in a blue moon for that but all that farming that killers do with survivors doesn’t count towards the survival rate , Ive literally seen this logic on here ; oh and if you are more knowledgeable than a rank 20 survivor isn’t what you’re doing called noob stomping when experienced players stay at a beginner level?- I'm not a Killer main
- You don't know why I dodge
- Survivors DC very frequently, to the point that even other Survivors are complaining about it
- I don't play at rank 20
Assumptions and generalizations are not equivalent to knowledge.

There always has to be a line. It’s time to stop putting that line further and further up so you don’t cross it. It’s just like those SJWs.Because, sometimes, what I really want is some "alone time". Yes, there should be a line, but it's not you who gets to decide it. Societal norms, by definition, are implicitly agreed upon by, you guessed it, society. You are an individual; it's not up to you to play "social police". -

Like getting tunneled and hooked early in the match....DC. Being the first dowm and hooked...DC. I don't see it as often in evening.
Make the penalty harsher for early disconnects. Something like unable to be matched for xxxx amount of time could work. As it stands, there's no real penalty to discourage people from DCing.
Whenever they announced Dedicated Servers they mentioned that punishing DC's would be possible. So i'm assuming they aren't possible atm or something but will be when Dedicated Servers come out.
People get banned for DCing all the time.

Just wait until you have those 4 stacks with BPS and the killer uses the dc exploit on you that BHVR seems to be ignoring.
You'd get 0 bp no matter what you did, lose your items, and depip the next time you log in.
Dude, your thread was closed and the solution (dedicated servers) is coming. Get over it.
It wasn't closed and that isn't a solution. Waiting another 6-8 months of being exploited? Bullshit.
Either way, it's dead and buried, and there's a reason for that.
If this exploit were as prevalent and as impactful as you claim, you would not be playing the game. Instead, you'd be waiting 6-8 months for the fix, which is the normal and logical course of action when an exploit is as impactful and prevalent as you claim.
What you're doing amounts to repeatedly going into a building of your own volition even though you know the security guard is gonna kick you in the balls every single time. Means either you like getting kicked in the balls, or you like to complain about getting kicked in the balls. -

This is always a bad idea. It's not up to your opponents to play by your imaginary (non-game) rules and your definition of "fun". Not only are most of them incapable of reading your mind and know, in advance, what your imaginary (non-game) rules and definition of fun are, but your opponent has no obligation to make PvP fun for you.
If you want people to follow your imaginary rules and care about your definition of fun, you're free to play KYF.
