Just offering Aura reading abilities to killers and then disabling it through survivors isn't going to help create us create gameplay diversity.

You'd be better off with something that tells a survivor WHEN their aura is being read.
    Think about that.

    Distortion accomplishes both.

    Did Iron grasp get changed?

I only started playing In around the end of 2017/beginning of 2018, so Could you tell me how it was before?

    Original:
Your powerful hold onto the Survivors causes escapes to be nearly impossible. Effects of Survivors' wiggling are reduced by 25/50/75 %.

Time to wiggle free from your grasp is increased by 20/40/60 %.

    (Source: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Iron_Grasp)

Right now, Iron Grasp is worthless, just like Unrelenting was at release.
Context: Unrelenting tier III, at release, reduced the cooldown of missed attacks by 9% and successful attacks by 6%. That's a difference of "not enough to be noticeable" seconds.

  • At this point, with all the escape options, they should just go back to when Iron Grasp wasn't useless.

  • If aura reading is so powerful, why don't Survivors use theirs?

  • I'm just gonna focus on the one aspect I find most confusing. If aura reading is so powerful, how come Survivors don't use it?

yes she blocked all of us, until he died. We couldnt do nothing

And after he died? If she was still blocking you after he died and continued to block you for a prolonged period of time, then that's holding the game hostage. If she only did it until he died and then stopped, that's not reportable.

The devs could have stop this abusive tool if they wanted it long ago, yet they just turn a blind eye to it

Answer the question, please. Are you going to put your money where your mouth is and sign the contract, yes or no?

OP, I want you to note how this person is reacting and ask yourself if that's the attitude of someone who knows what they're talking about.

So I suppose you'd be willing to sign a legally binding contract that states you'll personally refund every single player who is banned as a result of using MLGA for the total they spent on the game, including auric cells? If it's so safe, as you claim, surely you'll have no problem with this.

Its safe in the sense that everyone has been abusing this since launch, the devs and mods turns a blind eye to this and move the responsibility to EAC , which then EAC response they will not ban people for it. So i don't see the problem?

I am pretty confident even when Dedicated server launches no one would be banned still. well its been over close to 2 years now since DBD launches and not even 1 person been banned

So are you going to put your money where your mouth is and sign that contract? Because it sounds like you're not as sure as you claim.

But they could add some overlay on top of normal survivor lobby's aswell "warning: bugged" or whatever. Or something like they did in the Halloween event with the time. Just something. For me it just looks like that the devs don't really care about the solo experience as long as swf works lol

Thing is, it's not bugged for everyone. It's only a small fraction of people.

  • @Someissues said:

Not even 1 person has been banned since launch , i have been blocked countless of times for playing Nurses, survivors mains are still abusing it till this day without any issues. and EAC has been given the okay, since its not a cheating program

even streamers like jendenise , admits that she uses MLGA to block killers whom she consider unfun

So I suppose you'd be willing to sign a legally binding contract that states you'll personally refund every single player who is banned as a result of using MLGA for the total they spent on the game, including auric cells? If it's so safe, as you claim, surely you'll have no problem with this.

By spread I mean using the ingame NEWS feed or similar, most of the players never checked any forums, especially new players

That sounds like a failure on the players' behalf, IMO. Besides, how many people do you think read the in-game news feed?

  • The Nurse is extremely difficult to learn, yes, but there's a reason for that: she's arguably the strongest Killer in the game.

  • @powerbats said:

    @Someissues said:

Read my post again, i said its officially allowed by EAC, which is true, several streamers also asked EAC and they told them the same thing. Its allowed on DBD, stop giving me that auto response from EAC

@EAC has also said that while they don't directly ban you for it, if their system detects you running it and flags it it'll ban you. , thats an auto response from EAC

There is no risk using MLGA atm because it has been approved by EAC to be safe and not bannable

you have some serious issues with reading, like serious

The only person with an auto response issue problem here is you since a member of the forums got a very detailed response from EAC. Which stated that while EAC doesn't actively scan for MLGA if it detects your running it and flags it YOU WILL GET BANNED.

There is absolutely no confusion there, the system decides whether your program is suspicious or not and if it determines it's suspicious and bans you for it YOU'RE BANNED. AT which point YOU'RE BANNED and BHVR won't overturn it.

As far as the streamers that use it big deal, they got the same auto response the original poster here got who told by BHVR what you've been told. They then decided to follow u with EAC and got the more detailed response as stated above.

EAC has not approved MLGA otherwise it'd be on their list of Whitelisted aka officially approved programs ands to show your lie for what it is yet again here.

    https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/dbd/guides/whitelist/

Now noticed that on the OFFICIAL EAC APPROVED LIST above that MLGA isn't officially approved by EAC so stop lying.

So now we have direct proof from EAC that it's not officially allowed despite what you say and no matter how you try and twist it. It's not approved by either EAC or BHVR, it's not whitelisted by either one either and in fact it's USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

So since you won't agree to personally guarantee to reimburse each and every person if they get banned for using this we know you don't believe what you say.

If you read his other comments, it's clear he's of the mentality that if enough people abuse something, the devs will work more quickly to remove it. Of course, anyone with common sense knows that's bullshit. It's like destroying public property because your taxes are too high; you're making the country worse for everyone and the government is just going to take it out of your taxes anyway.

  • I wouldn't do what that guy (above) says. If EAC suddenly decides to ban for MLGA, you'll get no warning, and the devs won't revoke the ban.

  • @FoggyDownpour said:
I think the grey area is that the devs never said "you can't chase a survivor without being in a chase", but they gave the Legion a mechanic that discourages you from following the survivor with deep wound. Their power doesn't say "don't follow them", it just says that the timer won't go down if you engage in a chase. For me is on a very similar level as tunneling. Not fun, kinda scummy, but not an exploit.

I think the devs don't have to say it. Mechanically, it makes no sense. It'd be like Survivors being able to vault despite the Entity blocker, or Killers able to kill Survivors even after they've escaped.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:
The hotfix I found out for that (funny that the community knows about hotfixes but the devs don't make it public to reach everyone) is to start a SWF lobby alone and search for a game. So far it worked for me

This fix was actually already spread around by the devs way back when we used the Steam forum.

  • @Nickenzie said:
Sometimes you can't punish camping all by yourself, have you tried doing all 5 generators yourself? This is a asymmetrical horror game which requires teamwork after all so doing something that is meant for 4 survivors is gonna be extremely difficult for a single survivor. There has been times where I been the only survivor doing generators while my entire team feeds the camping Leather Face.

I get that, and it sucks, but it's not the Killer's fault. Put the blame where it is and start punishing Survivors who reward camping instead of Killers who take advantage of it.

  • @FoggyDownpour said:
    @Orion
No, but it definately isn't an exploit to walk backwards or generally not look at your target. I don't agree with people doing it, but I don't think they are exploiting anything.

Hang on, let's follow your train of thought here.
    1. An exploit is taking advantage of something that was never intended.
    2. It was never intended for Killers to be able to chase Survivors without triggering the chase conditions.
    3. Therefore, it's not an exploit for Killers to be able to chase Survivors without triggering the chase conditions.

I think there's a problem with your logic somewhere.

  • @Nickenzie said:
I wasn't trying to answer the question, I was just saying it happens everytime you get M1 by a Sloppy Butcher Wraith.

Well, you did quote me, so it did kinda look like you were trying to answer the question.

  • @Nickenzie said:
I came across a Wraith with Sloppy Butcher, it seems like it happens every time you get M1.

And have they told you they're purposefully abusing this? That still doesn't answer the question.

  • The Cannibal's chainsaw hits multiple times in a single usage.

  • Bugs are unlikely to be fixed before the new year, just FYI.

Have they told you they're purposefully abusing this? I'm just wondering.

This thing has gone on for 4 pages now to the point to where Scottjund himself had to comment on it, This just shows how serious of an issue this is for the game. If you do this as a killer, you're not good at chasing and you never will be, If you have never done this, then you are on your way to being a good killer, because the only way you'll ever be good is through practice and persistence.

    Who the hell is Scottjund?

    @FoggyDownpour said:
I don't find it to be an exploit, just a way to play. An exploit would mean someone was taking something that was flat out never intended, like getting on top of the killer shack. Moonwalking while tracking a survivor isn't what I would call an exploit, it's just generally douchy.

You think it's intended for chases to avoid triggering the actual chase conditions?

This was a specific one, mind you. I don't know how it worked, but, apparently, every single person who was using it got banned on the same day. The thread where it was shared (on another forum) was full of "detected" and "banned" comments, all on the same day.

So that you can't try and say it's officially allowed like you did before.

Even if its not officially allowed, its still allowed in Dead by Daylight though. Since EAC will not ban you for it. and regarding to the other EAC response, thats an auto response, its not made by a real person. they give that to every query

its allowed in Dead by Daylight, since the devs leave it for EAC to judge, which EAC judge this not as a cheating tool as it doesnt modify in game elements

So you went from it's officially endorsed by BHVR to now it's approved by BHVR to it's allowed by BHVR.

It's not allowed by Dead By daylight no matter how you twist it, 1 mod and 1 mod/acm have flat out told you they don't approve of it. They just don't scan for it on their side to ban you for it.

They've repeatedly told you as have others, it's not supported by BHVR in ahy shape, form or fashion, It's not
endorsed in any shape form or fashion by them.

They've also point blank told you multiple times that it's USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. EAC has also said that while they don't directly ban you for it, if their system detects you running it and flags it it'll ban you.

At that point EAC won't overturn the ban because it's not whitelisted and BHVR has stated unequivocally they won't overturn any EAC bans.

So unless you're willing to put your money where your keyboard is you should stop spouting nonsense that puts peoples accounts at risk.

How about reverting the timer? Like, if the killer camps the timer goes normally down and if he leaves he gets rewarded by the timer going faster. Was that ever tested? Couldn't think about a way the killer or survivors could abuse that

I suggested such a thing and received heavy backlash. The complaints were mostly focused around the existence of fast Killers and "camping from a distance" (lulwut).

    Just fyi

You have been on the forums long enough to know that this won't get you banned so why say it?

Because EAC is a program that receives regular updates and should one of those updates pick up on your edited files and ban you for it, BHVR won't do jack #########.

Its a tool officially confirmed by EAC to be safe and will not ban users for it, that means it is safe to use. Stop trying to make it sound like its risky when its not. EAC support literally said it will not triggerr the ban as it does not modify in game files

Are you familiar with the concept of time? EAC might not ban for it now, but if there's an EAC update in the future, and MLGA triggers EAC after said update, you are left with an irrevocable ban. So stop trying to make it look like MLGA is safe to use now and forever more.

######### is wrong with people? How does the killer harrass you in game? He kills you? Oh noes a killer in a game whos objective is to kill me, kills me!!1!1! He is harrasing me!!1!! Come on man, really... It is the objective of the killer to kill you. If he constantly gets you first maybe hone your skills or maybe look at another game to play because this might be to hard for you. Buuuuut if its messaging harrasment then just report him its not hard.

Killers can harass Survivors as well. On console, I hear it's pretty bad. Don't usually see it on PC, though.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:
Yeah that's true, when are they back again?

I've no idea. I can't see the future.

  • Well, it's a little complicated, but I'll explain how you can avoid DCing. You just
    1. Don't open the menu
    2. Don't press "Leave match"
    3. Don't confirm that you want to leave the match.

Follow these three steps, and you, too, can be on your way to not DCing.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:
The "work together... or not" sentence was really attractive for me back in the days... Sadly, u can get banned if u "sandbag" a random mate so u can escape aka just beeing selfish.
But yeah, I overall agree with ur idea. Let's see if the devs will even respond to that

You can get banned if you constantly sandbag the same person to harass them or to work together with the Killer. You cannot get banned if you give someone up to save your ass. At least, as far as I know.
If we show overwhelming support for the idea, they might respond, but it's Christmas now, so...

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:
I read ur idea and I like that for 2 reasons: balance and variation (let's be honest, playing survivor is getting boring after while)
One thing I want to add: kindred basekit. Helps solos a lot while swf doesn't really benefit from that (already known information)

I feel that's a discussion for another thread. My suggestion is more about making Survivors less reliant on their teammates, in the true spirit of what DbD was intended to be ("Work together... or not").

  • Communication is what makes SWF better than solo. There is no way to nerf SWF in that area, and any buffs to solo outside that area will just buff SWF even more, furthering the divide. The right way to do it, if you want a balanced game and don't want to change the way the game works, is to buff solo to the level of SWF by giving them coordination tools.
Alternatively, I suggested a way to rework trials so that solo Survivors will become much better by essentially taking away much of the advantage inherently present in communication. You can see it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/36024/a-complete-overhaul-to-trials-could-solve-most-of-the-games-problems

  • @ReneAensland said:
lol here we go with the killers who want to reward other killers for camping, performing Class A Mental Gymnastics to blame the survivor for the killer standing 2 feet away from the hooked survivor.
    Beautiful.

When they follow me to the hook, yes, I blame them.

  • @Neaisnotakiller said:
No I just want to say that camping is boring for me as killer. It's not in my nature to be so toxic. Tunnel...Ok, prevent ds by letting the survivor fall down...Ok. But if you camp the survivor has no chance to escape. It's my opinion about that. I mean if you camp it's ok, it's your decision. If the survivors are to dumb to make gens and teabagg the killer instead of this it's not the killers fault

The Survivor can still escape, even while being camped, and they had plenty of chances to escape beforehand. "Chance" is not "certainty". There's a chance to get heads on a coin flip; that doesn't mean you're guaranteed to never get tails.

  • @brokedownpalace said:
It's not, because I added my own caveat. Also, tapping X can easily be removed so that's a very weak argument. I'm not really interested in debating with you, though, because we're not going to come to any sort of agreement.

Can you at least explain why you believe punishment works for the Killer when it doesn't work for the Survivors?

  • @Neaisnotakiller said:
When I play as killer I never camp. Even when the exit gates are open I patrouling in a bigger range of 36m or more. I know it is dumb but I want to give survivors still a little chance. I mean if you camp you still get the kill. It just lasts longer.

They had plenty of chances. They had the chance to stealth, had the chance to win the chase (twice; it takes two hits to put them down), had the chance to be rescued by their teammates, and had the chance to wiggle free. Are you saying they magically appeared on the hook? Or are you saying that "having a chance" means that it must always result in success?

  • You want to handle camping? Stop trying to punish campers with a perk or mechanic, stop rewarding them by rushing the hook, and start using the actual, built-in counter: generators. There is no reason why a camper should get more than one kill, unless the Survivors fed him.

  • @brokedownpalace said:
The second idea is okay as long as a survivor isn't within a larger radius.

It's the same as the first idea, only it slows down instead of completely stopping. At tier 3, it'd slow down progression to a full four minutes. That's two solid minutes of tapping the space bar.
Punishing the Killer doesn't work, period. If punishment doesn't work with Survivors, why is everyone so convinced it'll work with Killers?

  • @Neaisnotakiller said:
    Mmh ok :/
Or maybe the progress is slowed down by (30%/40%/50%) in a range of (8/10/12m). This would be fair for both sides

It's the same principle, so no.

  • Something similar was tried in the first PTB and abused by Survivors. This is a suggestion that has come up often since the game was released. I'd say at least once a week, a thread like this pops up.

  • @AlwaysInAGoodShape said:
    @Orion

Divide the Survivor vote by 4 when it comes to perks.

(Or multiply is with whatever ratio you believe you deal with; if you think 25% of the survivors vote non-biased then multiply the survivor vote by 0.33)

We can also look at suggestions for new perks and translate it to "Amounts of seconds stalled" / "Amount of seconds it slowed the game down" and use that as objective measure.
Then we look at how frequent you are able to meet the conditions and adjust the numbers slightly if we see it as easy conditions to meet.

Since the developers hold the final vote, it still going to help us see where the community want to see things moving and as long as we don't promise that the most voted perk ideas are used, we're safe.

    Since 90% of the community doesn't know much about the interrelated mechanics that are at play in this style of game, listening to the community would solve 1 thing and break the next, but it should still give us a lot of information and ideas and dayum;

This game has 50+ perks per faction but it feels like there are less than 10.

There's no way to know who is and isn't biased, or even what side they main. There are other problems as well. What if someone owns multiple copies of the game, for example?

The devs listen just fine. They read suggestions. They answer questions in the Q&A streams. What people are complaining about, in fact, is that the devs don't do as they want. They conflate "listening" with "doing what is requested", and therein lies the source of the complaints.

  • @popoles said:
Well I have never said that the QA team is not doing their job. I said that BHVR seems to be lazy in general.
Just to clarify: I do not support the "fire the responsible one" statement.
    And yes, it was explained.

IMO, this is a minor bug that does not make the game unplayable. I don't approve of their decision to ship it out with this particular bug, but I can't say it's a big deal either.
The audio issues are much more severe, but it's to be expected due to the engine update. Had those been found and reported, I'd be far more upset than you are now.

  • @popoles said:
It was reported. I searched it up here and people were reporting that survivors are still standing when downed.

If it was reported, with an explanation on how to do it, then I share your outrage on it not being fixed before it went live. However, that's still not on the QA team. QA finds bugs (as many as possible), then passes it on to another person (or people) who decides what is and isn't worth fixing before launch.

  • @The_Crusader said:
    Who knows?

But there's no way in hell anyone who tested this game couldn't immediately tell the audio was off. Almost everything about the audio is broken. The surfing bug is the least of the issues right now.

I encountered no audio bug during the PTB nor the live version. I don't recall anyone reporting audio bugs during the PTB either.

  • @popoles said:
    Neither does yours.
I saw that bug on a lot of YT channels, so it isn't as rare as you say.

Mine, at least, is based on knowing how QA and bugs work.
Was the bug actually reported, though, with the explanation on how to reproduce it?

  • @The_Crusader said:
The surfing bug is extremely common in the live version, and it was on the ptb but I assumed they would have fixed it.

Happens if you hit a survivor as they out down a pallet.

Aldo shows downed survivors as standing/surfing.

    Was it actually reported, though?

  • @popoles said:
Maybe I am paying more attention when playing the game, maybe not. My opinion still stands, though.

Or maybe only a small number of people experience the bug, which is why it's hard to track down. Your opinion holds no water.
