Yes, that is something we can totally agree on.
Listen, I don't want the perk changed, I can handle it, I have no problems with it being part of the gameplay. I just don't want the devs to listen to these killers, since clearly they don't know what they're talking about.
Well then, good news: the developers do not listen to any one person or group of people. They take in the feedback, see if it's justified, and then do what they think is better for the game. Just like every other developer team in the universe.

I will try to help you see the big picture of the issue here, since I feel I didn't make myself understood enough.
We have a killer with NOED that gets ran for 5 gens.
NIOED activates
There are no or very few pallets left
Survivor location is known to the killer (exit gates)
Killer finds survivor at obvious location, speed boost+no pallets = survivor on the hook
Killer camps hook
Survivors get cocky, since killer is a noob that got ran for 5 gens and try to save, they die as well.
Killer ranks up and has even shittier games
Killer gets frustrated and goes on the forums to complain asking for unrealistic changes
Devs give in to the demands
Game is even more broken
I am not saying all the game's issues come from NOED, but I believe it plays an important part.
See right there, where survivors got cocky? That's called a mistake, and mistakes should result in some kind of drawback. In your own scenario, the problem is survivors, just like I said.
-
It means they'll give us information about the new chapter that wasn't available up until this point.

Do they? Personally I havent played a lot on consoles, so I dont know.
I would run a bot via some sort of python script on PC, but I cant imagine how that would be done on consoles^^
I'm pretty sure third-party controllers come with turbo and a bunch of other options. Even if not, it doesn't take an electrical engineer to rig a physical contraption that pushes a button every X seconds.

Bot on PS4 though?
Controllers don't have macros?

I do, but I guess you gotta cling to something to dismiss my point, so you do you.

It's actually because someone (AKA me) didn't change the Twitch stream title in time.
Totally my fault. Will fix up the Legion titles on YT as well
MY BAD. *please don't hurt me*
If I see you, you're so getting hooked. >:C

you only read the title, your reply notification came 5 seconds after I posted.
I tried to post that reply the first time this thread popped up, but by the time I pressed "Post comment", the thread was gone. I guessed it must've been because you edited it too many times in a row and it went into approval mode.

I did. I disagreed.

The only real problem with NOED is that survivors refuse to break the totems, yet still expect to be exempt from its effects. This is a non-issue.
-
Survivors want NOED to be worthless. It's the same for everything killers have that's actually powerful.
-
It's a bot. Report it.

The one and only real problem with NOED is that survivors don't break the totems and still expect to be exempt from the perk's effects.

It's not your opponent's responsibility to compensate for your mistakes. If you play poorly, your opponent capitalizes on it. That's how PvP works.
-
Different killers require different strategies. This is not a problem. Adapt.

How can you expect new players to improve if you dont challenge them? I find this matchmaking to be quite good, giving a mix of easy and difficult matches. If you think, in every game the MM is flawed; and those who constantly complain about MM aren't very likely to improve as they are in the mindset that they cant improve versing hard opponents. Not everybody enjoys it, but it is what it is, it also solves the issue of deranking as there is no benefit to doing it now, furthermore it allows low level survivors to get matched with experienced survivors. The killers have a more balanced time too, being placed with mixed rank teams.
How can you expect new players to improve if you don't even give them the chance to understand the game mechanics? Hell, how do you expect new players to stick around if they're being demolished every single time?
-
People who like horror games get their fun out of being scared. People who like the numbers role in asymmetrical games get their fun out of being underpowered. Thus, for the target audience, good killers are fun to play against.

I wonder what could make it so one side has quick queues, and the other one does not... Probably has nothing to do with population or anything like that, that'd be silly.

Pls dont post that on this forum, this is killer main territory, if you want to people actually agree with you go to reddit. (Sad true)
Sad lie. Most of the people on this forum play both sides, which is why we tell people like the OP to use the long list of counters NOED has, while simultaneously telling people who think the Nurse should be buffed to git gud.

I just don't believe this happening. I'm fairly positive its at least a little bit exaggerated. honestly would love to see a video of this happening
It's happening regularly at high ranks. Three generators can be completed in 80 seconds without any increases in speed (which is unrealistic as there's always a toolbox or someone hits a skill check). It took 75 seconds for the first survivor to be placed in the dying state. Do the math.
-
Find totems, break totems. Congratulations, you have nerfed NOED.
-
Doesn't matter if reality proves them wrong, some people will try to argue that they're still right.
-
@artist said:
put out pressure?
OP downed a survivor in 60 seconds, hooked, then immediately went to search for more, and that's too long? Sure, this isn't a problem with the game's balance, obviously it's OP's fault.

There are at least one post a week related to map RNG. In almost all the threads Coldwind is mentioned. Maybe some people still think it is related to luck but I don't think so. The amount of times Coldwind spawn is insane and when playing killer it annoy me a lot due the cornfields and the damn infinites there are in some landmarks.
Coldwind Farm has the most maps out of any realm, with a total of 5, if memory serves. Then there's the fact that it's survivor-sided, so survivors are more likely to use offerings for it (remember, they have four offering slots in total, whereas the killer only has one).

I agree, we need more viable killers there's only 4 right now (Nurse, Billy, Spirit and Hag) and debatably Huntress and Myers (I won't say Wraith cause he's a bit confusing as to whether he's ok or not). I want more variety myself, I want to face an actually terrifying Freddy or a scary Clown. Not jokes.
Same here. Regrettably, the main audience for this asymmetrical horror game seems to be people who don't like asymmetrical horror games, which is why we're stuck with what we have now.

A get out of jail card is never crap
It's just typical biased survivor rhetoric. Perks that everyone uses are weak, killers dodge items because they only want easy trials (whereas survivors use items because they make their trials harder, presumably), and SWF doesn't break the game in any way. Oh, and if you point out any errors in anyone's suggestions or logic, you're a biased killer main whose opinion should be disregarded.

Yes, but what does it matter to them? just publish it anywhere except in the united states, and you've solved it. Among other things, jason voorhees as far as I understand belongs to horror inc, miller has only the rights of pamela and jason as a child, but of jason voorhees adult no
Do you have any idea how big the USA's market is? Why would they deprive themselves of it and be met with outcry from them? It's a losing move.

true,i feel really bad and I don't want to be associated with those idiots that actually hack. I constantly teleport, even when not in a chase. My ping goes to red and yellow in the lobbies.
If you really feel bad, then I suggest you stop playing until you get a better connection, so as not to screw over everyone else.
-
@IamFran said:
The problem with Billy (and also Nurse) is that they are strong enough to face good SWF squads if you are good playing them, the problem is they are too strong against solo survivors or average SWFs. That make very difficult to balance them, if you nerf them the good SWFs will humilliate you, if you keep them as they are at the moment, then almost all the solo survivor groups or average SWFs will lose most of the trials against them...
Games should be balanced at the top. Not the bottom, not the middle, not the majority; the top. That is the only way to ensure a game is balanced at all levels of play.
-
Only if your bad connection also causes you to DC a lot.
-
The Nurse (without add-ons). Hard to learn, harder still to master, and reduces the chase to one of skill. If you're more skilled, you win; if you're less skilled, you lose. She minimizes randomness, takes away braindead stall tactics, and so on.

Oh man I could tell you storys. Whenever I play survivor I can duck/juke hatches. Visually it shouldn't hit me, but it still does. And when I play huntress the hitboxes are not only perfect, but also go through the survivors (doesn't happen always, but often at vaults and slides).
It's inconsistent
I just remembered, there is actually an issue with hitboxes: survivor hitboxes do not match their character models. They're dome-shaped, so part of the model actually sticks out of the hitbox.

@Daneryn said:
I finally found one of them and hooked, while the other finally took hatch, I told them they were recorded and they said it was my fault for patrolling gens...
At least I know to dodge these guys in future, cheers guys
Entitled toxic survivors. Never gets old. I hope you reported them in-game so they can get their asses banned.

Is that her, to the right of the hole in the wall?

@Peanits can you help this guy out, maybe identify the trial and ban the ######### holding the game hostage?

That's the weird part. On "The Game" and "Lery's Memorial Institute" totem spawns are actually random. But on most other maps there's a pattern for some reason.
Two things are possible:
- There's no pattern, and it's just our human tendency to see patterns where there are none.
- There is a pattern because whatever randomization function is used is taking into account variables that are actually more or less constant at the time they're being taken into account.
We can rule out the first one in KYF, but it'd require at least two people (or one person with two copies of the game) with enough patience to test it some 100 times per map (i.e.: over a thousand times).

Its not funny the first few times, but after youve been receiving death threats for years you will either learn to take it in a funny/sarcastic way or you will quit the game
I learned to report them and help purge the cancer that plagues the community.

@Orion I mean like when do they expect to reach that milestone of 60 FPS? I understand they have a lot to do to make that work but the timeline isn't very clear.
You shouldn't have rigid timetables when it comes to programming. You'd be surprised how even the simplest functions (on paper) can take a ridiculous amount of time to create.

Crossplay? Brilliant idea! The optimization patch, which is going to be released, and the dedicated servers, in late summer 2019, will make it possible. Of course, consolle players won't be allowed to select Bill Overback, but it's quite irrelevant.
And PC players who do select Bill won't be allowed to play against consoles, or else Valve will sue the ######### out of BHVR.
-
@Okapi said:
From how it's worded we should see some optimization with Chapter 11 but not all of it. It's an ongoing process.
Indeed. Optimization is a single word for many, many processes that essentially mean that something will make use of fewer resources for the same (or better) performance.

Thanks alot for feedback, I can understand you all. Does anyone know if the devs are looking into the general problem about this?
Regrettably, no. Some killers are simply designed to not be viable.
-
Eventually.
-
Few viable killers leads to little variety. However, dare to mention buffing weak killers to increase variety and you'll be met with every biased survivor within a light-year. They'd rather nerf the viable killers instead.

Isn’t BHVR locates in Canada, making the whole conversation moot since they’re not bound to the US law?
International copyright law isn't restricted to just the USA. Regardless, their product is available worldwide, so they have to make sure it complies with both international law and the laws of the countries in which they intend to sell it.
