@Orion but now it has so much counterplay, that it doesn't need a 'fix' it's no longer a problem, plus don't you main Nurse? You're literally playing loop loopings best counter.
No, I don't main Nurse. I rarely play her, in fact.
What is the counterplay to a survivor who knows how to exploit map design to the point that the least bad option for the killer is to hand them a free escape?

And while I understand it's annoying, it's something the game has since further adapted to. I honestly don't see it as a problem now
So you don't think it's a problem that survivors can force the killer into unwinnable situations just because of how they exploit the map?
-
@ClogWench said:
People act like looping is a problem but that's literally a core mechanic for survival. It doesn't need to be, nor will it ever be, "fixed".
Looping is a problem and was never intended to be a core mechanic for survival. It has all the characteristics of an exploit, except that the developers changed their minds on calling it an exploit.

@Orion The thing is, you don't even have to play killer. A half-decent survivor can recognize the balance issues just by playing the survivor role. I wonder if some survivor mains truely believe that the game is balanced or if it is just some pretense.
It's probably a combination of both. Some of them believe they're very good and only lose to "broken #########", while others just want to keep their bully simulator.
EDIT: Here's a real example. I was on Lery's and let a survivor go after wiping out their team. They went upstairs and I just stopped chasing them because I was bored of all the looping. The survivor was 100% sure that they'd actually juked me (even though I pointed out that I literally stopped chasing them when they went up the stairs) and that I was just bad.
-
I think it means it doesn't stack with itself past 100%.

If he said "I just started 3 weeks ago and i am playing survivor.Because i love that role. But they are really weak.Killers are really fast and camping all the time. Also killers doing lag spike so i can't loop.Gens are too long and my teammates doing nothing." Imagine this scenario. You will laugh and %70 killer mains on this forum will say git gud to the this person.Things never change
Assuming you meant to @ me (not that it does anything, just FYI, since I've disabled my notifications)...
The difference here is that survivor mains who try killer (I mean really try it; not the ones who stomp noobs at rank 21 for 5 minutes and pretend that's the average killer experience with experienced survivors) end up recognizing the balance issues and agreeing with those who say survivors are overpowered.
On the other hand, killer mains who switch to survivor main (again, those who really try it) are surprised by how absurdly easy it is.
Even just mathematically, the game is unbalanced.

At what rank / how many hours do I have to get before I am taken seriously?
What about all the killers who aren't new, who are top tier, and have the same exact issues I do?
@MystiKasT You could be the best DbD player in existence, with 10000 hours, and some people would still deny that your problems are inherent game issues. It's how the game got in trouble a while back and lobby times spiked, because killers quit in droves.

More bait?

No.

For survivor, Premonition.
For killer, I dunno. It depends on the killer.

Sadly us Ultrawide users are such a minority on Dead By Daylight and other games that abhorrent discrimination is commonplace throughout the gaming industry against us and we are treated as second class gamers because of the shape of our monitors, truly a disgusting gamer society we live in. It's time for Ultrawide users to rise up and seize the means of Resolution production.

Even poor Ash has been lobotomized by the constraints of Behaviors resolution!
You guys are a minority. There are more important things to do than make sure the game works in every possible resolution, no matter how bizarre or unusual.

It was tested and the devs didn't like the result. Basically it just turned the hatch standoff into a generator standoff, which is arguably worse.

I wonder what constitutes as "camping in any way".
In my experience, it means not allowing a completely safe hook rescue. I've been accused of "distance camping" as the Doctor while patrolling generators about 40 m away from the hook, on the opposite side of the hill (where the survivor was hooked).
-
@KreepyMF said:
My (age appropriate) offspring take to the camping methods when playing as killer, despite me showing them they get more BP when continuing the patrol after a hook.
Different logics and gameplay ideas I suppose
Different goals. You play for BP. They play for the role. Killers kill. It's in the name.

I camp when I think it's the right tactical decision because I have nothing to prove to you. Your opinion of me is about as relevant to me as a single neutrino is to the overall mass of the universe.

When in doubt, ask the doctor. @DocOctober

Wow, that's definitely fake. I could've done a better job faking it, and I don't even know how to use image editing software (not that it's needed for this, but whatever).

If they were forced to use all their perks, killers. As someone mentioned, survivors have No Mither. One hit and they're down. With Deerstalker, Thanatophobia, and a bunch of other stuff, they'd be massively handicapped.
If they simply had enough slots for all the perks but were allowed to pick them, then survivors would win.

Yeah, but I like to chill on gens as well
So you'd rather have been sitting on generators for 2 minutes? You can't have it both ways if you can't win the chase.

I dc only if: The killer is making the game unplayable for me, for example targeting only me for no apparent reason or blocking me so that I can do nothing but stand there, or something IRL happens.
One example for the first reason happened two days ago. I was the first to be found, a good 2 mins of chase, put on hook, for some reason only 1 gen done, I get saved by an Adam, as soon as I'm on the ground the heartbeat starts, I hide, Adam is injured, runs towards me, I start running, killer sees me, completely avoids Adam even tho he was closer, downs me, puts me on hook again, goes away, Adam saves me again, we run away, the heartbeat comes back four seconds later, we both hide behind something, the killer is coming, he clearly knows where we are but he's going to find Adam first, he sees Adam, Adam starts running, the killer avoids him knowing I'm there, downs me, I DC because I literally did nothing but run and staying on hook.
I was probably just salty but I was so pissed.
I thought the chase was the fun part of the game.
-
Enduring, Mad Grit (you'd be surprised how often survivors try to bodyblock me as the Legion), Deerstalker (experimenting a bit), and NOED (because why not?).

Ah, yes, The Entity. The catch-all Deus ex Machina that rationalizes anything that occurs in game.
It's part of the original lore of the game that the Entity can't quite piece together our world, so She creates the realms based on Her interpretation of it. But sure, call it a deus ex machina.

You can puke on downed survivors and hanging survivors as well. Hanging survivors' hitboxes seem a little screwy, though, so I usually charge it to about 50% and puke on their entire body, from head to toe.

Fair enough. Duration buff is all that is really needed, but, that doesn't dissuade from the fact that this would be a good change.
@Shad03 I did the math, and a survivor must be within 7,68 meters of the Legion if the Legion is to get a Feral Frenzy hit (assuming they run in a straight line and not counting Sprint Burst).
-
Nope.
-
To whom would people in-game be complaining? Each other? What would be the point? The devs at least read the forum; they don't go through every chat log to see what people are complaining about.

Yes, please. I love Bruce Campbell.

It's not an exploit to track blood. Everyone can do it and I can not understand why people keep calling it an exploit. The game is designed to account line of sight and distance to keep a chase active. The best way to beat moonwalking is to turn around and run back towards them so you them to always be in a chasing state. Any killer can slap on bloodhound and sloppy butcher, moonwalk you after getting that first hit and be just as effective at the gimmick. At some point we gotta just start calling out chase design instead of constantly calling out legion. Besides, it has already been confirmed that Legion is getting a rework to be less tunnel oriented anyway.
Moonwalking is taking advantage of the chase conditions to make the Deep Wound timer go down despite being in a chase. It is an exploit, end of story.
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@Orion People already find Legion oppressive. This would give him better map control buffing a killer everyone already hates.
Anything but a nerf as long as he has no counterplay would be ######### on by every survivor player.
People find the Legion unfun because of the Deep Wound/Mend mechanic. It's not fun to hold M1 for prolonged periods of time (which reminds me, I should get to writing my suggestion on how to remake some interactions to be more interactive). This change wouldn't affect the Deep Wound/Mend mechanic.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@Orion If this buff happened and Legion could still hop pallets and windows people would lose their minds.
Why? It's not like this can be used in a chase.
-
@Shad03 said:
Literally all they need is longer duration and faster Frenzy speed. Enough to cross the map, if just a bit barely.
But I can get behind this suggestion. Would certainly help.
If you increase the speed too much, people will need to be on cocaine just to handle the quick reactions necessary to hit survivors. An argument could be made for increasing its duration, but only because the current distance at which a survivor needs to be for FF to hit is relatively short.
-
Jake because he was the first one I leveled up and I don't have the patience to level up all the skins.
-
I made a small edit pointing out that even if the exploiters try to use this to their advantage, the timer makes it essentially irrelevant. The game considers you're in a chase for a few seconds until after LoS is broken. Given the default Deep Wound timer, moonwalking to try to use this possible buff would be detrimental to the exploiters.

The whining about MoM will stop once people realize that it is not as common used as they think.
Yesterday I had nearly no MoMs and those who played MoM played Ash. The general shitstorm will go down, even though there will be some people left (like always).
It's almost like the perk was just released and nobody has had time to unlock the teachable and put it on Claudette or Meg.

I never said that you don’t experience bugs from the killers perspective? My response was clearly to the people who think getting hooked is always down to a survivor making a mistake, which as I said, isn’t always the case.
And my response was to you and the people like you, who think game balance should take into account unintended behavior (bugs and exploits).

@Orion @DwightsLifeMatters That's the whole premise of dark souls though, you have to be quick enough to react to enemies.
Nioh has the same thing and I still didn't play Sekiro it might have the same gameplay.
Listen, I like Dark Souls (at least DS3), but you have to admit that some BS is just too much. I can't react to something I don't know is even there to begin with. Imagine if the Wraith was 100% invisible, didn't disturb grass nor crows, allowed you to walk through him, didn't have any audio cues, and could attack you while invisible. Would you just say "Well, you gotta be quick enough to react to the Wraith"?

Example?
Also, a remastered version came out recently. Bugs could be fixed there but idk. Haven't played remastered yet.
To be fair, I've only played DS3, but there are always enemies you can't see nor hear nor anticipate. They're around corners, hanging on walls, etc., and don't make any noise whatsoever.

I can always suggest dark souls 1, it's an amazing game. All my friends + me came from dark souls to DbD and enjoyed both games a lot. So, this could apply to you aswell.
Disclaimer: it's an extremely difficult game, and at some points it can be very frustrating. But you will never have the feeling that the game is unfair or that you died due to a bug (looking at you DbD), you always know it's your fault cuz you did mistakes. Have fun with it.
Y'know, except when you die due to bugs (every game has them, not just DbD) and enemies that cannot be seen nor heard nor anticipated in any way.

I think I saw it in the temple itself, in the closed-off area that only opens after you repair the nearby generator.
-
Try playing killer. If you have fast queues as killer, you can probably figure out what the problem is.
-
Warframe is F2P and has a ton of farming. The farming is too intense for my liking, which is why I quit, but it can be fun with friends.
-
So how do you suggest the developers find out the problems the community has? Telepathy?
Do you see people waiting for a tow truck without having called one, or firefighters magically appearing at the scene of a fire without anyone calling them? No, because humans can't read minds. Problems need to be communicated.

The only one full of BS here is you yet again, Spirit , Noed, Bubba, Freddy etc but hey cleanse the totems. Mori's, a lot of you all brag about how many you have.
You're joking right, there's a few banned accounts plus a lot of the killer mains on here have as recently as a week or so ago been whining for a SC nerf. Then before the whole of healing got nerfed there was countless rant threads about nerfing SC and healing in general.
Also don't give me the no ones complaining about Exhaustion perks nonsense anymore, this forum is littered with BL/AD/DH/SB etc threads and posts still.
I've been saying for quite sometime insta heals should have some requirement to use just like SC when I said you shouldn't be able to stop at a pallet and heal then next one.
They're currently looking at doing just that with insta heals or some form of that and why is it that killers can regularly 4k with Bubba/Freddy Huntress etc at red ranks? It's not because the tired old BS excuse the survivors were potatoes.
It's because the killer knows their killer and how to path tiles correctly, when to chase and when not too etc.
Only powers that can actively deal damage are exempt from triggering MoM. The rest are just bugs.

Bbq nerf was a mistake I'm perfectly happy with perk changes if they deter hard camping.
Maybe if movement speed was increased for 5 seconds after each hook for killer. That'll give them the speed to make up more ground and look for someone else.
A temporary movement speed buff is not good enough. To make it worthwhile for the killer not to camp, you'd have to accomplish two things:
- Make it heavily punishing for survivors to unhook in the killer's face.
- Make the killer very powerful if they're away from a hooked survivor.
The first one will guarantee that survivors no longer feed. The second will guarantee killers go away because there's a good chance they'll be able to find and hook someone else (i.e.: apply pressure) before all their work with the first one is undone.
Personally, I'm a fan of giving killers insta-downs and the same recovery speed on both hits and misses as the Legion gets for misses during Feral Frenzy, but only within a very small radius of the hook (like, 2-3 meters, tops). This will deter any and all would-be hook vultures and accomplish the first goal.
On the other front, you could increase sacrifice speed by 2% for every meter the killer is away from the hook, starting at 32 meters. This would make sacrifices take about half the time if the killer was 70 meters away (at which point rescues are 100% safe) and put pressure on the survivors to unhook.
