Exactly. All insta-down Killers soft-counter Mettle of Man.
Which wasn't the point, @JPLongstreet was clearly referencing the fact that Plague can leave survivors Broken.

Still, being on a one-hit down is gonna make it way harder to get three protection hits before you're dead on hook.
Sure, but then you could say that about any insta-down killer.

I guess the Plag is able to as well...
Nope. Broken is not a health state, it's a status effect.

If they really wanted survivors to "prepare" , they would at the very least allow us to be able to communicate through voice chat in the lobby because half the time I start typing "I'm bringing BT an--" chat closed. *match starts*
Also, they could allow survivors to hover over the items the other survivors are bringing, so I'm not squating up and down trying to hint "Hey I got this to help you!". This is why I don't hardly play solo anymore. Too many misinterpreted messages and signaling gone wrong.
I really don't care that killers can see who they are facing, but I do think it's funny when they lobby dodge. To me that's the equivalent of a dc, just without the punishment.
Don't press "Ready" until you type your message and make sure everyone read it. However, in my experience, survivors don't give a ######### and just assume you're bringing the stale meta perks anyway. If you mention you're not or try to discuss a potential strategy, expect abuse.

When the match starts each traps key is placed in a specific box, but that 1 box can contain multiple keys. So what the op said isnt correct according to the stuff ive seen anyway.
They really need to look into this. Ive seen people working on gens with activated traps without a care in the world and still get the trqps off.
The keys are placed in boxes at the same time as the traps are placed on survivors, not when the trial starts.

I think they should remove survivor gamertags from lobby/during game. Let them be available at end game.
So how are you supposed to report the right one, if necessary?
-
Yes, although the in-game report is mandatory. I'm not sure where you can submit the support ticket, though.

Yeah I've learnt to just keep my mouth shut. Just keep reporting the toxics until they get banned after the hundredth report
Sony and Microsoft are much quicker with the ban hammer, from what I hear. Regardless, better the 100th than never.

@Mooks said:
It’s just a dumb design choice. It should be enough to see the characters/skins and items. It would also make grieving one specific survivor nearly impossible.
As long as it also shows SWF, sure.

Yeah I do that everytime. It's just there toxicity in every community but in dbd I just find those so much more then normal. Which is sad cuz I feel like the bad part of the community can sometimes over shadow the good.
Just keep reporting them and don't respond to them in any way. Ignore them completely, it drives them crazy and they usually give you more report material.
-
Because killers are supposed to have more information than survivors by design. That's just the way of things.
-
Survivor: All the aura-reading perks that show you other players (survivors or the killer).
For killer: Not really sure. I see a lot of diverse builds even in red ranks.

Yeah I get it. Just wish these kinds of people weren't allowed to play. Just wishful thinking.
Same. You can help with that by reporting them to the people who can actually deal with them: Sony or Microsoft (depending on the console).

Yeah, my wife is like that. She prefers to play a more stealth-oriented playstyle because she's just not that good at looping (yet) and doesn't see the fun in second chance stuff.
And it feels like every damn game people are on her ass about, "Those aren't the right perks, you were useless, learn to play, nyaaaaaaaa!" because there's a fairly strict, accepted meta that survivors expect now and deviating from it is unacceptable.
She's still Rank 4, though, because she gets ######### done every game.
But yeah, the survivor meta now is for everyone to be invulnerable supermen, rush gens, and second chance out of the gates. If you don't fall into line with that, people get mad.
Husband?
In all seriousness, that's basically me to a T, including the rank.

When I play survivor yeah I literally always get positive messages. When I play killer I get one gg a month. The rest are death threats, racist slurs, homophobic comments and just toxic messages. At one point I just turned my xbox messages off. I recently turned them back on cuz why the hell should I have to turn them off. I report them obviously but one time I tried telling a dbd help person but they said there's nothing they can do. I dunno I just thought it Maybe if I showed them the gamer tag and the evidence of them hurling homophobic comments they would have Maybe banned him. Like I know it's not an in game thing but you'd think they wouldn't want people like that playing there game.
If it's not in-game, they can't punish people for it. Can you imagine being banned from this forum because of something you said on Facebook?

Well its funny you say that, because all I hear when people say "skip releasing a new chapter and fix some of these problems" is "tHeY hAvE dIfFeReNt TeAms" so which is it?
It's both? Different teams work on different things and they all have a list of things they work on sequentially, based on priority.
Game-breaking bug that prevents everyone from playing? Probably gets pushed to the top of the list.
Minor inconvenience that takes little time to identify and fix? Won't get bumped to the top, but if they can solve it in a few minutes, it'll probably be fixed in their spare time.

If only some reports are answered then no as a whole reporting does not work. Agree to disagree. I have no problem saying im wrong when i feel that way.
Some reports are simply not valid, which is a distinction you keep ignoring. Just because a report was sent doesn't mean the mods have to punish someone.
-
@Bunnie said:

And not every report is answered as I said.
Which was not the argument. You said reporting did nothing. There's proof that it does. You were wrong and moved the goalpost instead of admitting you were wrong.

So because this person's report got answered you're assuming every single other report is answered?

No, because this person's reports produced tangible results, then reporting works. Not every report is valid, as I said.

You're comparing a missed skill check to a survivor pointing out other survivors (like literally pointing out) to a killer?
Spoken like someone who hasn't had a sandbagger purposefully miss skill checks to attract the killer.

Exactly. Yet the killer chose that oppurtune moment to listen to the survivor and take advantage of what the survivor was doing to help them. Sounds like a friend to me.
Sounds like an opponent taking advantage of the other team's mistakes to me.

Say i make you a glass of milk and I put a couple drops of peanut oil in it knowing youre allergic to peanuts. Then my friend knowing what i did gives you the glass of milk. Is it any less my friends fault that you had an allergic reaction to the peanut oil just because they werent the one to put the peanut oil in it? Nope. Both are at fault. Both get the blame.
Killers are not your friends, they're your opponent in this PvP game, if you're playing survivor.

It doesnt matter. It is against the rules to help the killer. Period. You can try to justify it any you want. And people always say I'm hiding in the locker cause they saw me go into a locker one time meanwhile I'll be the one with the most BPs. How would you know what i was doing he entire game if youre playing? Exactly. I said what i said. Youre trash. You didnt earn that hook. I play killer on a TOUCHPAD. If I can get 4k easily without needing a survivor to help then you should be able to. Also never said killer was always wrong. Ive written posts about both.
Yes, it's against the rules for survivors to help the killer. There's no rule against killers taking advantage of sandbaggers. So why are you blaming the killer? Report the sandbagger!

How can killer know for sure that it isn't just swf sandbagging each other fun? Should I check profiles while in lobby before every match to see if they are swf or not? How can killer know for sure if they are pointing out the locker because that person didn't do anything else except hide and they want him gone from the game? Why the killer is always the bad guy?
Because killers are omniscient, obviously.
@Bunnie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1343070#Comment_1343070
What? Lol. I wasn;t injured. I'm talking about when a survivor is injured and feels like oh if they know theyre in the closet or theyre hiding here theyll go after them and I can get away. Literlly running around pointing people out. Killer taking advantage of that isn't smart play. Thats not play at all lol. Someone who truly wants to enjoy the game and all it entails wouldnt take part in that.
And agree to disagree on the reporting.
Tearing the survivors apart is indeed smart play on the killer's behalf and I can't blame them for it, especially when survivors behave the way they do when killers try to punish sandbaggers.
There's no "agree to disagree" here, this isn't a matter of opinion. There's empirical proof that reports work, as users like @SenzuDuck can tell you.

@Bunnie said:

idc if the killer punishes them or not but taking part in their toxicity is ridiculous. not supposed to be helping each other out. Also youre the first person ive ever heard say that reports work lol
The killer sees one injured survivor without and one fully healed survivor. Killer goes for the injured one because it's easier. This is not taking part in toxicity, it's just smart play. The killer doesn't care about ruining your day, they're just playing to win.
Yeah, that's because people who say reports don't work either don't report, or report for things that aren't bannable (teabagging, camping, tunneling, etc.), or behave in ways that are bannable (so it's beneficial for them to keep as few people from reporting as possible).

Then one person is on gens, one is being chased, one slugged and the Unbreakable user is healing the slug. Still a strong position for any killer to be in.
No, the killer is chasing one person while another is still working on gens and two are back up before they can even land the first hit. Furthermore, there are now two survivors who can't be picked up even if they unhook in your face or are repairing a generator right in front of you. That's not a strong position at all.
-
@xenotimebong said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1342735#Comment_1342735
Slug both. I don’t see how this removes the killer’s momentum, if anything you’re in a really strong position. You have two slugs next to each other that need to be picked up, and if you chase the first person who comes for the save you require the fourth survivor to also leave their gen. Now you have a really strong position: two slugs, one chase, and one rescuer. Four survivors all near each other, not doing gens, being entirely reactive and vulnerable to a snowball. This is like my dream scenario as killer, lol.
Unbreakable.
-
When I play survivor I usually get positive messages as well. However, I have noticed a very small increase of positive messages when I play killer - usually when I lose, but sometimes when I win as well.
-
@Bunnie said:
Not doing what? And I have reported in the past. Nothing gets done. I know that cause I've gone up against people multiple times. Probably more considering how much we change our names.
Not punishing the sandbagger. They get nothing from it.
If nothing got done, then it probably wasn't bannable. All I know is that reports work and people have been banned quite often because of it.

I dont mean spend the game trying to get them but definitely kill them if you can but no i wouldnt like waste the game doing it. Its just satisfying when they do die. The guy who did it just ahwile ago before i wrote this he did die. I got hooked though which was irritating cause i was actually successful at outrunning this particular killer. And then ofc hes bragging about it at the end of the game spamming ez like a moron. I dont even bother reporting cause whats that going to do lol
If you don't bother to report, reports do nothing.
Listen, I hear you, but that's my experience when I play killer. As a survivor main, I can't blame killers for not doing this when survivors behave like that.

Wow, geez, really?!
Some players have no moral compass do they? It’s just “hey conscience, imma need you to shut up a while”...
Indeed. I mean, I'm taking on a bunch of drawbacks - little to no BP gain, chaser emblem penalty, no fun - just to punish a sandbagger, and in return they're toxic toward me and reward the sandbagger? ######### 'em. This is why I'm very hesitant to show any mercy toward survivors.

If it’s any consolation, there ARE killers that won’t do this and WILL punish the jerk attempting to rat out teammates.
I used to be one of those, but then other survivors come in and unhook the jerks with BT and spew various forms of vitriol in the chat, even if I explain why I did it. Kinda hard to punish the jerks when other survivors reward them and then blame me for it.
-
- You were not carried halfway across the map and into the basement unless the killer had Agitation and Iron Grasp, or if they had Mad Grit and other survivors kept taking hits.

I agree with alert. Such an underrated perk that I don't see enough people using.
So true. It's a perk that tells you:
- If the killer is chasing someone (before they're injured)
- Where the killer is chasing them
- Which generator(s) the killer kicked
- Which areas have fewer (or no) pallets
- Which areas have fewer (or no) breakable walls
- Where the killer is going after damaging a generator or breaking a pallet/wall
All this for free, with an unlimited range, and no cooldown.

That is why I said not sure tbh, but I read somewhere that if you get reported constantly you can get banned.
Only if the reports are actually real. You can't be banned for fake reports.
Saying "not sure" while giving out a tangible number makes it seem like the number you gave out is close to the real thing.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
That is called BM'ing and no it's not a bannable offense, if I recall you can only get banned if you get reported often, like maybe 20 times? Maybe more? Not sure tbh.
Nodding is basically teabagging, not bannable but just bad manners, you can't get banned for not giving hatch.
In fact if you get threats you can actually report them for that.
Edit: I'm not saying that it's a good thing, all I'm saying it's that it's not a bannable offense
Don't give out numbers you pulled from thin air, please. That's how fake information spreads.

How is hiding the whole game fun? Interacting with the killer is by far the most exciting thing that can occur. I understand u are entitled to your own opinion, but I really suggest you pull your weight by distracting the killer instead of urban evading in the corner of the map. Trust me, you'll will enjoy dbd so much more
I love that you just assumed a bunch of ######### about my playstyle.
Disregarding all your assumptions, I'll just leave you with this: fun is subjective.
