    No it isn't.

I swear my friends and I get this map a million times a day... even with map offerings, we STILL get this map. New bug?

I think there's a bug with this patch where offerings don't work sometimes.

  • @ABannedCat said:

That has been a thing in a the past quite a few times. Got patched out, but always eventually reintroduced. I don't play a chainsaw killer or Oni, but I wouldnt be surprised if that "bug" was back-

    It has to be back.

I played quite a bit of Oni and Demo and saw many times how survivors received zero damage when vaulting a pallet that i was destroying with my power.

If i'm not mistaken then the addons should just reduce the cooldown between bottle throws. So you can throw all your bottles faster than normal.

I was a Freddy main at one time, had a twitch channel dedicated to it, only played him and was against all the Freddy changes, played him at rank 1 without noed or ruin in the old days. This is what happens when devs "rework" killers, I wish he was the way he was and I dont play him anymore. Hell, I use to play old Freddy perkless, you had to "work" to get that rank 1...

Same.I loved playing old freddy. It felt much more fun to play him.

Also Coulrophobia on old freddy was that sweet middle finger to over altruistic survivors.I miss him :(

The BT thing never bothered me, similar to BT agajnst Pyramid. Unless they camp, and I admit they do sometimes, it’s just about making good saves.

Too many people, and I’m not saying this is you, but too many people have come to rely on BT instead of picking a good time to save.

I just mentioned BT because that is being countered while being asleep. It's not too bad and more of minor problem.

His passive sleep timer is way stronger and less counterable

  • @johnmwarner said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1369931#Comment_1369931

I mean without that half of his powers would be useless, and besides being asleep doesn’t do anything other than making snares affect you . unless he has the minor slowdown addons.

Being asleep also negates Borrowed Time.

Other than that his passive sleep timer is mostly ok but i think it should pause as soon as a chase starts, then it would reward players for staying awake without making freddy too weak.

  • @Orion said:

As a survivor main, my only issue with him is that his passive sleep cannot be countered in any way. You can dodge or get in a locker when the Doctor uses his shocks, you can dodge the Huntress's hatches and the Plague's vomit, but you will always fall asleep when Freddy is your killer. It is impossible to avoid, regardless of your skill and decisions.

On a side note, it's sad that "boring" was co-opted by certain elements in the survivor community as a thinly-veiled nerf request, because real complaints like mine are now ignored.

Exactly, his passive sleep timer is the only thing that is unfair about freddy.

You can only delay it for some time but will still fall asleep without freddy having to do anything for it.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

survivor mains honestly do not want anything other than an m1 killer, anything that presents a challenge is "boring"

The only unfair and "boring" thing about freddy is his uncounterable passive sleep timer.Doesn't matter how often you wake yourself up,you will still fall asleep without freddy having to do anything for it.It just feels really cheap and unfair on the survivor side.

This map is just so boring and bad for both sides. It has pretty much the worst aspects from every indoor map.

  • @Poweas said:

I can't believe the devs managed to make a map that's equally as ######### as Dead Dawg Saloon. You guys make the maps look amazing, but the gameplay feel like #########. It's disgusting. You'd expect for them to be designing more fun maps, but they really aren't. There's so much issues with it gameplay-wise. I'm going to get into them and briefly cover Dead Dawg Saloon cause these maps should be reworked.

I will be talking from the pov of an m1 killer, ie trapper or maybe myers.

Dead Dawg Saloon: (this bit isn't that relevant but I wanted to discuss this map too)

Now, in terms of aesthetics, Dead Dawg Saloon looks incredible, one of the best built maps to date. But gameplay? It ######### sucks.

To start, I'll explore the killer side of it. As killer, basically every pallet is unsafe, meaning mindgames are really not needed, and you can end chases in about 10 seconds unless the survivors do a method the devs seem to be shoving down everyone's throat, but I'll get to that in a short amount of time. However, there are spots that are busted as #########, for example, the main building. The main building has god windows from the start, providing crazy distance to survivors. The devs added breakable walls to balance this, which seems great until you realise how much time they waste. Breaking walls can waste valuable time, and honestly isn't worth it if you're a normal killer with no extra mobility. Now, there's the gen. The gen is extremely difficult to pressure unless you're playing Huntress or 'Slinger. It literally is a free gen in endgame. And there's some other windows in the map which you wont catch anyone at. Complete and utter BS.

Onto survivor, Dead Dawg Saloon is horrible to loop unless you're at the main building, shack, the jungle gym or that one god window, making SB godlike on it, and any other perk, and you're as good as dead. You can't loop, so you pressure gens constantly, causing a very stressful time for the killer. Chases go fast AF so you can only really genrush unless you're in position. This causes games to go very fast and causes stressful gameplay for killers. This alone makes it the (now joint) worst map for both sides, as it's either genrush, or die. Killers are put in a sweat, or lose mentality.

Now onto this new monstrosity of a map:

Initially, I thought this map looked great, looked fun and could really spice up the game. I was wrong, very, very wrong.

So first I played it as survivor, and I literally noticed that all you have to do to have long chases is hold W and look back occasionally to keep an eye on the killer. This causes all killers without any mobility to be forced to leave the chase, or they can waste their time trying to catch you. This alone is a huge design flaw. There's also the loops, in which the window loops are actually ok, some OP windows, but they have breakable walls. Then there's the pallets. Literally every loop is unsafe, meaning you can't really play a pallet for the amount of time you can in a normal map, even if you mindgame. Bloodlust 1 guarantees hits for the killers no matter how well you play. There's a few god pallets in this map, which are way too strong for distance and make it worse for killers to catch up. This map also seems to have pallets in bad spots to access in the first place, so holding W is literally the way too go.

As killer, it's horrible. You just watch the survivors run and you try to hit them. Only high mobility killers and Huntress will do remotely well on this map. Hag can trap the routes, and easily down since there's only one thing to do, and Huntress can just shoot you if you hold W, play the pallets, and she can down you effortlessly. Now onto the biggest problem in the map. The gens are #########. I can't believe the devs made the gens so difficult to access. As killer, you can't even pressure gens, so it leads to you getting genrushed, even 3 gens are way too difficult and impractical to pull off. Huntress also sucks in this sense, as she has terrible mobility. Now combining the difficult to access gens, and the M1 strat that is the best way to extend a chase, and you get horrible gameplay. If the survivors are dumb enough to go to a pallet then you get your free downs, but if they find a GOD pallet, they get a ######### ton of distance for free. It's another genrush or die map. Where the killers have to sweat or lose.

The only reason I can kinda excuse these maps being so terrible, is that COVID 19 does make it more difficult for the devs to design maps properly, so boring maps like these are to be expected. But if there's someone from BHVR reading this, can you consider looking at these maps again? They suck for both sides.

At least Hawkins gives the advantage to one side. I had a killer tell me earlier that they'd "rather play on haddonfield". That's how bad the new map is, it's just terrible for gameplay. And Dead Dawg Saloon.

    Cya in the fog.

    Yeah,it's basically Haddonfield 2.0

Navigating in this map is horrible and the gameplay is just super unfun and frustrating for both sides

  • @JacksonWise said:

Killers are gonna start boycotting if those sound bugs don't get fixed soon. Hope they can get a hotfix rolling in the next week or so.

Good joke. They took over half a year to "fix" the bug where downed survivors don't make any sounds. This is probably gonna take years until it gets fixed.

Can you even call it a fiasco? Just because some people had more expectations for it? It was never advertised as anything more then a skin. And there is a icon on the linked skins so that's not false advertisment either. I can understand being dissapointed. But there is nothing to blame for

All these complaints remind me of a child getting an action figure for Christmas and then throwing a tantrum that it isn't the deluxe edition.

Wow, 2 recolors you liked more than the original you totally ignored due to the price bag. Open your eyes, there are so much ugly and rarely used cosmetics and they still make more same looking disgusting pieces of clothing. Trust me, there's a lot of negative feedback that devs may not listen to.

I just assume. It can be a good scapegoat phrase, don't you think?

You must be a newer player than me because killers hated Blendettes more than anything.

Yes, it was feedback but it was't really peaceful if you ask me.

Those were the only two i could remember, but there were other skins that i liked as well (Huntress,Wraith etc.).There were always some skins in the Battle passes that i enjoyed.

I play pretty much since console release so yeah,i remember the old blendette times. It was absolute ridiculous how she was almost invisible on maps like Macmillan Estate.

But i still doubt that the devs changed Blendettes because some of them got camped/tunneled/moried etc.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I don't think people thought it was false advertising from the trailer, but understanding how skins have worked in this game... I think it was a little bit of a let down that you can't even mix + match Cheryl's own skins.

Considering how that is how it has worked in the past, you only have that to go by. I bought Lisa's skin and I didn't think you were going to be able to choose Cheryl's head and swap. I also didn't think she would have Cheryl's voice tho. xD

So to me it was a bit of a mix-up in terms of not really knowing until you bought the skins and they were kind of vague about it in the stream (from what I remember)... I could be wrong. I don't remember them ever saying how legendary skins would work other than the idea that they are attached to that particular character.

The only thing i remembered them mentioning about the legendary skins is that they will use a completely new model.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/162015/regarding-this-whole-lisa-garland-fiasco

I definitely don't think they're lazy or greedy, but it probably to get this license to begin with so I don't think behaviour is going to upset Konami so they lose future license deals with them. It's probably like Freddy and leatherface, they probably want to get cosmetics for them but they can't because both licenses are kinda a ######### show. It's not even the original nightmare on elm St it's the remake and Halloween is the same way it's only the first movie so it would be cool to get more cosmetics but it's probably not possible

I could imagine that the devs tried their best to get as much iconic characters and skins as possible for the fans of the videogame, but it was probably Konami that made things difficult considering we didn't have any problems with the other licensed cosmetics.

Lisa Garland is a beloved character in Silent Hill 1. You just fall in Love with her character, her voice, her attitude, everything about her just SHINES. Bringing that character to Dead by Daylight was a dream come true to some, like myself. It was more than just a cosmetic, and they said it was going to be special in her own way.

It's disappointing, she doesn't even have her name in the lobby, or her own voice. For $15, I don't want to say promises were broken, but dreams were Shattered.

It's more than a cosmetic, there's so much more behind the character.

I can definetely understand that quite some fans are disappointed with what the skin turned out to be.

I'm extremely interested what answer we'll get here in the forums or in the next Q&A.

  • @WRussoW said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1361900#Comment_1361900

There were numerous proper cosmetic feedbacks. Has anything changed? People had been saying how ugly some cosmetics were. Any updates for them? Nope, they just dumped in the ugliest cosmetics recolors into the Rift, so they would get some profit from them.

Now, Lisa. She's not only a cosmetic, she's a licenced cosmetic. It makes things much more complicated because the excuse "we can't do much" may pop up. Not only that, but the whole issue is caused by her not having her own unique voice and her own lobby name, which is not something a rip-off cosmetic would have. Devs can't properly do things with usual cosmetics and you tell me they'll willingly make Lisa worth buying?

Again, Blendettes were nerfed thanks to the massive feedback. It wasn't nice at all if you can remember, people brought up the strongest stuff against them, camped them, moried them. And thanks to that they changed the darkness of the cosmetics. Only after the in-game rioting.

There is no point in arguing about whether the recolors are ugly or not. That's your own opinion.Personnally i enjoyed most of the recolors.Golden Claudette and the blue Hag skin are my favourites.

How do you know that they can't do much because of licensing?

I don't think the devs changed claudettes darker skins because those players got tunneled/camped/moried etc.

They changed her because of the actual feedback and because they realized how unfair these skins were.

  • @WRussoW said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1361680#Comment_1361680

As you can see, you are displeased about this situation even though you bought the cosmetic you were fine with (when it actually treated horribly in terms of price and quality ratio, by that I mean that it's not a fully functioning character who has voice, lobby name and maybe lore, for THIS price it must have been included). You came on the forum to create a thread saying that there's a certain issue with Lisa that causes players to tunnel and camp you. Yes, you talk about players but you still mean that there's an issue that causes players to act like that. And the issue is clear, numerous threads where created to speak out about it. And threads like these become more and more common to the point the issue is addressed.

Now, it may sound ridiculous, but get one thing clear. Yeah, people kinda displeased with you supporting this scam and kinda wanna punish you for that but it's not the main thing about it. Killers mori, tunnel, camp Lisas not to punish them for liking a skin but to make them frustrated and address the issue as well. Again, even if they don't acknowledge it, they will still complain about this type of behavior. And if devs wanna keep their players happy, they will have to change it because not only the whole situation leads to negative feedback towards skin itself, it also discourages other people from buying it.

Sorry but this has to be THE dumbest way to show you disappointment with Lisa.

You being upset about the skin, doesn't justify ruining the fun for people who enjoy the skin.

If you want to see some kind of change then you have to do it through proper feedback and not childish behaviour like this. That would probably lead to you being ignored by the devs.

Because I had Blood Pact on, not only was I able to tell David was done with the gate and make my leave, but he could also see me coming and opened the gate early so he could block the Killer and let me escape. I just don't see the appeal of forced penance.

Most of the time body blocking happens when you try to hook survivor. But that actually helps you because now you got them injured and they need to heal. With this perk they will just focus on gens.

The other situation in which body blocking happens is when you chase an injured survivor to the exit gates and the teammates prevent you from downing the injured survivor. At that point this perk is useless.

That's pretty much how he is supposed to be played in my opinion.

  • @TAG said:

Not gonna lie, the perk has not been too shabby for me from what I've dabbled with. Prestiging in DbD is extremely pointless and a big waste of BP.

You should only really prestige a character if you like the prestige cosmetics and you can't find any other cosmetic in the store that would look as good or better.

Other than that just focus on getting the perks you want for your favourite characters

Still possible to do that within one day as preparation without serious problems. And beneath that I would say that people that are completely new have bigger problems managing 4 perks they don't know rather than not running a full build.

I mean, how long is this a problem? One day? Once every full chapter? Come on!

Sure, but i don't see any reasons to why we should keep this kind of mechanic in the game. It's unnecessary.

  • @johnmwarner said:

So I know there are plenty of people who have characters to p3, or even all killers and survivors to p3 with all perks and to you guys I just say WOW.

This despite never even getting any other character to prestige 1. I don't think I would have this in me again for even one character, maybe I could get some killers to p1 for the weapon that's it.

So to sum it up, not a brag I just did not realize how crazy some of you are!!!

I would say that many of us are already playing this game for a very long time,so it's obvious that we had more time to save bloodpoints.

Let me guess you werent here when the old moris were. If you were you would understand my comment.

Doesn't change the fact that moris are still way too strong now.

BNP were also nerfed once so they don't complete a gen in an instant, but they were nerfed another time because they weren't balanced even after the nerf.

Same with moris. They aren't as strong as they used to be,but that doesn't mean they are balanced yet.

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

I see this as a change that would primarily benefit newer players. I think the tutorials awarded something like a total of 40k BP between the two of them. With all the content currently in the game, this means that new players have to choose how to distribute this meager amount of BP between 42 different characters (survivors may all play the same, but they do bring separate perks before teachables are earned).

Playing with one perk isn't very fun, nor does it feel like an intended way to play the game. It's especially bad right now with the accident-prone matchmaker mis-matching ranks. Killers and Survivors all get 3 personal perks each which could be better used as a basis for players to decide who they want to invest in.

I think continuing to lock the 4th perk slot behind level 15 (or maybe dropping that down to level 10) is fine as a reward for actually leveling up a particular character, but I don't really see a reason why everyone shouldn't just start with 3 perk slots. This could improve the new player experience without penalizing DbD veterans (like power and perk reworks sometimes do), and that's not a bad thing.

They should give you those 4 slots immediatly. It only hinders the beginner experience.

Veterans don't care at all about those locks anyway because they already have BBQ/WGLF and plenty BP offerings to unlock the slots.

  • @Harmonic said:

Title. It's a redundant feature, on survivors it's not as bad since you can just play another survivor and get the same experience but still annoying, and on killers it's worse because only having one perk in higher ranks will most likely lead to stomping, since every character starts with their base three perks now we should at least be able to use them all.

Completely agree. It's not needed anymore. There is more than enough things to grind for and those perk slot locks do nothing but make the beginner experience even worse than it already is.

  • Or about 10 to 15 good games in general (for people without BBQ).

  • I absolutely don't understand why linked cosmetics are a thing.

It makes sense with the legendary skins but other than that i could only imagine that the license holders are against "normal" (unlinked) Skins, which i don't understand too because they would make much more money if the skins weren't linked.

It's less about defending the devs but rather mentioning some arguements on why they added her in the game the way she is now.

We just have to wait for a response from the devs at this point.

I really doubt Konami would mind adding separate voice acting for Lisa and making her feel like a whole new character. C'mon. I can see why they would chain clothes. But it makes no sense for them to dismiss Lisa this much.

We can't know that.It might be possible that Konami didn't allow things like extra Lore,Voice acting and animations.

Don't forget,we never had any of those problems with the skins for other licensed characters.

Another thing you have to consider is that Lisa was probably another license that had to be bought first.Which is why the price is so high for that skin, they probably get something like 2 thirds and konami that other third of the money they get with selling this skin.

Even if the devs were allowed to do animations, lore and voice acting for lisa then the price would be probably even higher because of the amount of extra work they would have to do.

Regardless,it would still be nice to get an official statement from the devs.

My biggest worry is that other licences will follow suit. Try and "protect" their licence by making all their skins linked. It's a real shame since they are also quite expensive.

I agree,it would be really stupid if they decide to continue this trend of linked cosmetics, but i'm pretty sure they did it that way because it was the only way to get more Silent Hill cosmetics.

I'm sure it was Konamis fault because the devs never had a problem with the skins for the other licensed characters.

But maybe these linked cosmetics could make it possible to get skins for characters like Freddy,Bubba,Quentin etc. in the future ?

Yes i can kill you with it but only when you are already dead on hook

I think many survivors are just really scared of getting tunneled which is quite easy because of the tormented status effect and the cages.

Same with that - only because there was a Paragraph at some point does not mean that there will be another. IF there will be a paragraph, I just hope it is not a Survivor-only Paragraph. Because this would come with an OP Perk to boost the sales.

Now, you do the same 🤔

This is actually a pretty big issue for long term game development. Power creep can significantly impact a game over time.

On one hand, you want players to be interested in new content. On the other hand, do you really want to see perks that are better/stronger than Pop, DS, etc? And then later perks that are even better?

It's a dilemma for developers. It's why they have to get so creative with new perk effects.

Most people didn't ask for perks that are easily stronger than the current ones.We just want to have decent perks that allow some different kind of playstyles without being too weak/restrictive.

I don't think perks needed should be a factor considered, because once you have them you never have to run anything else. Add-ons sure; but if you are running BBQ and doing well in your games you can afford to be running what you want alot of the time.

Blood echo and bamboozle are just fantastic on legion, and help shore up two of their main weaknesses (dead hard, jungle gyms+shack, god windows). Nothing is better than getting off a blood echo, running over to some injured person with BBQ and knowing they will not be able to dead hard for distance at the next loop. He/she is one of the few killers I feel can afford to even run it.

Well, when you make a tier list you usually look at base of the killer and legion without the right perks and addons IS weak.

Stronger killers aren't as perk and addon reliant as the weaker one and Legion heavily depends on the right perks and addons.
