Crossplay is a thing so console players face just as many PC Nurses as anyone else.
True, I was speaking more from a Nurse perspective, though. Console nurse is much harder, and nowhere near as good as PC nurse.

You do realise that swf and solo still are the same character. "Swf" or good players are just better at using it.
As for bringing up sportmanship for survivors? Hahahahahahahaha
Hahahahaha
Haaaaah.
Good one. Bring that up again once survs give out pity kills like killers do hatch.
SWF without Discord? Sure, you can say that. SWF with Discord? Completely different.
I've had just as many bad experiences facing toxic killers (mori cancelling, anyone...?) as I have facing toxic survivors.

If only people were capable of realizing it's a skill issue. If only they were capable of realistically viewing themselves and realizing their skill is the issue, and not the nurse.
Yes, it really is a problem. If only these console players who play with restricted nurse and don't know what a real PC nurse can do would stop talking about things they know nothing of.

More evidence that you have never actually done anything credible, other than thump your chest about the 10 people playing in Korea. Do you think any Tekken players that do well choose a character in order to give their opponent a chance? No, you would be laughed out of the conversation. Play to win, no one cares about the other side being bad/salty
It's called sportsmanship, something the players I mentioned above, and you it seems, have very little/none of.
Bringing up Tekken and fighting games? Lol...? In Tekken the other side can also choose an equally powered character.
Nurse players in dbd, and SWF players who go on coms are choosing OP things to dunk on the opposite team who just must lose.
Full 4-man SWF with coms are the very, very slim minority. A boosted nurse using broken addons? Those come up in I'd say 15-30 percent of games at high mmr.

Playing to win is not toxic. By calling them toxic tryhards, you’re pretty much just saying they make you angry because they don’t let you win. Talk about entitlement.
This game is not balanced. Good SWF players on Discord doing callouts and playing sweaty in public matches, and nurse with her best addons playing cut-throat.
'Toxic' describes those kinds of players pretty well. I've seen much more of the latter than the former.
Using imbalanced mechanics to dunk on the other team who doesn't have anywhere close to your advantage. If that's the kind of game you want to play, go play a single player game. Or, just keep playing dbd cause the devs don't care.
-
It's truly sad how people defending nurse have no concept of game balance.
Most of them are console players and don’t actually know what a real PC nurse can do, but still..

Your point was old dead hard actually did something against her. My point was. It did nothing against her.
That doesn't make nurse broken or a problem though. It just means her kit was good against old dead hard. Just like huntress, nemmy, etc was good against old dead hard and using it for distance. Does that make huntress and nemmy broken ?
It is just astonishing that all you do is lie when it comes to Nurse.
Old Dead hard did nothing against a good nurse? What are you even talking about. It's so far from the truth that it just proves that your MMR is so low that you never faced anyone who knew how to use Dead hard effectively, or you never used it well yourself.
A well-timed 99 sprint is decent against nurse. An old Dead hard was much, much better and easily the best exhaustion perk against her.
Did you really never know how to wait out the first blink and Dead hard on the second? Or did you never Dead hard on the first blink because you knew the nurse would auto-attack on their precise blink?
It's so exhausting seeing you people defending nurse when it is quite obvious you don't know how to play.
Dead hard was at times the only defense the survivor had against a good nurse. New Dead hard is not bad against nurse, but claiming old Dead hard wasn't useful against nurse is just...wrong. So, so wrong.
And...what...? Huntress good against old Dead hard...? Yo. Huntress is the killer I have the most time on. More than 1k hours just on her. Old Dead hard for distance wrecked Huntress in so many situations.
I thought just moving your camera was your issue, it seems much deeper than that.
-
Nurse can decide to just win. Her opposite, 4-man SWF, can decide to just win.
Both are broken. Only, no one denies SWF is broken. Biased nurse mains deny nurse is broken. It is sad they can't just admit it. Very sad.
And no, just because one exists, doesn't mean the other should exist, too. That is absolutely terrible logic.

And this is a unique case with Nurse? Nemesis can't do that at a window or pallet? Pyramid Head? Blight out in the open? Huntress? Twins? Hag when you step on a trap? Trickster out in the open? I guess we're making changes to over half the killer roster if the criteria is "gets an automatic hit at times if the killer is good".
Nurse can do it consistently throughout the whole match. Other killers are limited.
Imagine seriously comparing what trickster can do, and what nurse can do.
You're flailing.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
What does proof to the contrary look like? Just about everyone who thinks Nurse is OP has a No True Scotsman built up in their head when it comes to Nurse. If the survivor succeeds in chase, the Nurse must be bad. Because a *good* Nurse will blink perfectly every time regardless of survivor input or pathing. And if anyone weighs in to the contrary, well, they aren't facing the quality high MMR Nurses those players are facing.
So tiresome.
The people defending nurse like to lie and say a blink attack requires equal 50/50 skill on both sides. In fact, there are many situations where it is not a 50/50, and the nurse will hit you no matter what you do. This is not even debatable. It's just true.
So yeah, there are many situations where if the Nurse didn't hit you it was because the nurse was bad. Objectively.
-
At high MMR the nurse can decide to just play sweaty and win the game.
At high MMR SWF can decide to just play sweaty and win the game.
Both are broken. People who disagree are biased. It's as simple as that.
Whether either will be deservedly nerfed remains to be seen. Probably not. BHVR doesn't want to anger the high number of players who play together with friends, and they also don't seem to want to anger the subset of players who aren't interested in a fair match, and want to play a killer ez-mode simulator (nurse).
Sad, really.
-
Yeah this is a big reason the grind feels so bad. Even after you've earned a bunch of bloodpoints you have to spend wasted time spending it all.
I've been wanting a feature like you describe for a long time.

You shouldn't care, the devs should care and finally nerf such an unfun and skillless strategy.
I don't know any other online vs game that has such unhealthy, unfun and skillless strategies to be so effective like tunneling and camping are.
This is it.
I have thousands of hours in killer. If I go for the 12 hook, quickly downing each survivor, which is infinitely more skilled than the current optimal killer gameplay (hard camping/tunneling the first hook), then I will lose many more games than if I give in and skillessly camp/tunnel first hook.

My goal was not to justify how high I can possibly get my kill rates, it was to justify why kill rates are higher than normal, meaning I must play the exact way I normally do to get accurate data. And you may actually want to learn a bit more about "optimal" killer play because camping is not optimal most of the time unless to secure a kill during EGC, because you're giving them free gens, and tunneling is only optimal in specific circumstances.
The idea that tunneling is always the optimal strategy across the board is not correct. And while I said I didn't tunnel, that does not mean I didn't shoot for early kills. I just shot for pressuring gens and getting a lot of hooks because, at its core, the best slowdown in the game is having someone on the hook.
This video's a pretty good summary as to why tunneling and camping are not some perfect across the board strategy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpqWii_HI-8
Camping to secure the next hook stage/kill is the only optimal play in tournament play, which I have played in. Tunneling goes hand in hand, and when done right off the bat is absolutely the optimal play. You may want to learn a bit yourself.
-
Didn't play optimally as killer (no camping/tunneling).
Didn't use addons, which greatly increase killer's power.
Average kill rate still much higher than 50 percent.
Hmm. Everything seems right as rain.
-
What a tease. Not a comp nurse. Just a regular nurse fumbling all her blinks. Too bad.
-
For every good change, they make three to five bad changes. Just par for the course with this game.
What truly baffles me is they nerfed Billy, and then made a killer (Blight) who is better than Billy ever was in every conceivable way. It's just mind-boggling. Truly.
-
Not sure why people are adding the condition of basekit kindred without the killer aura. Knowing if the killer is face camping or not is the information solo queue players especially need to know. Can lower the range, but taking away the killer aura is not a good idea if it goes basekit.
-
Haven't seen a survivor give up and try to "ruin games" since like day 1 or 2 of the patch.
Sounds a lot like people saying "you're just no good without dead hard" in order to ignore the very real balance issues that arose from this patch.
Killer is so mind-numbingly easy right now. Only if I go for the full 12 hooks do the survivors have a chance to escape against me.
As survivor, if the killer plays a certain way, which, shockingly, they all are after this patch, escape ain't happening.
I'm glad the killer players who like easy wins are having fun, though.
-
@Mr_K said:
Survivors DC/stop trying the moment they think they won't win.
Thats the cold reality you need to understand.
No, it's not because its a Nurse or a Blight. Its the pettiness of this current generation of players who will quit if things don't go their way.
Lol...what? DC'ing has literally always been a thing. It isn't any more prevalent in this "current generation of players."
Also, killers DC just as often as survivors.
I don't DC myself, but I can tell you that yes, people have been DC'ing directly because of nurse for years, Blight not so much.
-
I don't DC myself, but blaming people who DC when the game is in its current state is missing the forest for the trees.
-
When playing solo survivor the result feels unearned. If I escape it is because the killer didn't hard tunnel the first hook. If I don't, it is because the killer did, or played an easy-to-win killer like Nurse or Blight.
When playing killer if I want to win I just tunnel the first hook and win automatically. It's such uninspiring gameplay.
I've also been playing for like 5 years now, and this is definitely a real low-point. Things felt bad when Legion was first released, but there was hope that they would be fixed. Right now...? It feels like this is what the devs want, and it is just completely the opposite of skilled, fun gameplay.
-
It really is too bad the devs are clueless about where the skill is in this game. It is in chases. A killer camping and tunneling the first hook takes away all skill from both sides.
The survivors must sit on gens and do them as fast as possible, and the killer goes for the weakest, easiest target.
It really is unfortunate that if I face a lobby as killer, and I go for each survivor, trying for 12 hooks, not standing by the hook to force a 2nd hook state, I will objectively get a result worse than if I face that same lobby and simply hard tunnel the first survivor I catch out of the game. One strategy takes skill and consistency, and one "strategy" just reduces the game to a 1v1 game, removing the other three players from the equation, forcing them to do gens as fast as possible.
-
When they do get around to fixing nurse I hope they keep her fun to play against, but without the massive power potential and ability to dominate and negate what the survivor does.
On the other hand, just knowing all the nurse mains who defend the broken nurse would be upset makes me want the devs to completely gut her, bringing her down to F tier. For a little while, anyways. Seeing the nurse mains having to play a character who isn't OP would be lovely. I imagine they would all just go to Blight, though. They aren't much interested in a balanced game, they want to win at all costs.

This last mid chapter patch was a big one, there were a lot of changes made including base changes. We are very well aware that it is going to take time for this to settle down and it's something that we are continually monitoring and if we see the need to make changes to things further down the line - that's something we will do.
However, we're not making knee jerk reactions here - if we do see things that we know are going to be an issue of high importance we will of course make changes in the planned Hotfixes, there might also be further changes made down the line depending on how things play out once players have had time to adjust to a lot of the recent changes.
Dead by Daylight is a Live game, it's continually evolving and changes made based on this. The plan of this update was to increase kill rates as those were lower than we would like. It will take some time to fully see the extent of the changes made, players adapt etc. This update and the after effects of this update is definitely something we are monitoring closely.
The game has been out for years. The gap between solo survivor and SWF has always been huge, made even bigger by this patch. Why is there seemingly no motivation to make a balanced game for ALL players? At this point it seems deliberate.
Solo queue survivor was already super weak. You can't say you didn't see this coming.

What a terrible and flawed analogy. All these “cars” have different base speeds, some accelerate faster than others, some can run over survivors for an instant down with their basekit, some teleport, some disappear, some are silent electric cars, some need to reload gas at lockers. Yet somehow Nurse is the only one not designated as a car?
Killers aren’t racing each other either. They all share the same goal of killing survivors, not reaching a physical destination. And some killers require more expertise than others, and logically should be rewarded higher.
Oh, and Blight as a car is faster than Nurse as a plane - if you’re going to insist on continuing to use this analogy. Seems legit.
"Some killers require more expertise than others, and logically should be rewarded higher."
LOL. So why is nurse rewarded so much?
Darn, these nurse mains in here thinking they're working so hard for their easy 4k's.
-
Those players either have no situational awareness or are trying their best to make the game experience miserable for the other team.
Playing nurse already gives a strong advantage to the killer player, and tunneling off first hook makes it so much easier.
They don’t care about a fun, balanced match.

Exactly this. I rarely used it before the patch, but I love the idea of a skilled "parry" ability. Unfortunately, even if I'm carefully watching the killer and press it just as the attack starts it doesn't matter, I will be exhausted on the ground. Whats the point of having a new dead hard that requires skill to use if it doesn't work when you definitely time it correctly.
Edit: Wouldn't you rather the survivor do something that requires skill instead of just sprint bursting away to a safe tile when they hear your terror radius? @VikingDragonXii
The guy you are talking to is super biased. Will never admit he's wrong.

I've done that enough on my live stream. I explain how to go against survivors as killer, and how to go against killer as survivor.
It's truly sad so many nurse players deny how once you reach a certain skill level as nurse you will beat equally skilled players just by playing her. That ain't balance. Like, sorry so many of those nurse players in this thread haven't reached that level, but many many people have.

Then is sounds like you have no idea how to loop her and deal with her and want to blame everyone else who tries to help that they don't know what they are talking about.
Here's another suggestion play as Nurse and find out for yourself that she's not as OP as you believe she is. Her Blink is not absolute and she has many weaknesses that can be exploited to loop her. Most players just want to use the same old strategies that they use on 90% of the Killer Roster and call OP when those strats dont work against them.
I've already posted video on here proving I know exactly what I'm doing when facing a nurse. I've already posted video on here proving I know exactly how to play as nurse. I wouldn't be surprised if I have more hours on Nurse than you do.
All high level players I've talked to agree Nurse is OP. Top players all say the same. Top players who stream.
And yet, I've never seen a single person who isn't a nurse main say nurse isn't OP. And i've never seen a single person in these threads defending nurse show any gameplay to show they know what they are doing. Cause the thing is, as soon as they show their gameplay everyone will know they aren't nearly as good as they think, and they haven't come even close to realizing how strong nurse is. The lot of them are boosted by Nurse's mechanics, holding on to the idea that they deserve to be at whatever mmr they are (they probably don't). So hey, where is your gameplay?

Yes they have been debunked constantly in everything thread counter plays are discussed some simple and some in great detail. Even some have links to YouTube videos HOW to counter her.
It's the "NeRf NuRsE" players scrambling to do something....hence why everyday there's a new Nerf Nurse...Nurse Should Be Deleted....or my favorite is Nurse is a No Skill Killer threads pop up.
Does she need some minor changes yes she does.
•Add-On rework
•Change her Blink attack from a basic to a special
•Have the Doc check out that horrible wheezing she does I'm worried about her health.
Nothing new, then? The same old stuff that everyone has said is useless for everyone except players new to facing nurse? All that stuff?
Yeah..
It's actually so silly that these nurse defenders try to tell people who know the game much better than they do how to play against Nurse. It's all common knowledge at this point. Stop lying and saying people just don’t want to learn how to play against Nurse. It is so insincere. Just a cop-out.

We do not need to debunk these arguments.
They do it themselves.
Every time I see someone say, "Help, the mean nurse is too strong," I ask, "Okay, prove it to me, show me how you play against her."
And, oddly enough, how many videos do we get in response?
0.
Yet, if the nurse is indeed this overpowering monster who rules over terrified survivors like a living God, it should be easy to prove, right?
Well, then, survivors, will you show us this evidence?
Unless you're afraid that by showing us your gameplay, it will allow us to see that in fact, if the nurse is able to crush you, it's not necessarily her who is overpowered, but maybe it's you ... who are too weak ...
Saying something is easy.
Proving it ... a little more complicated, it seems.
I already have. Multiple times. No point doing it again. I'm a 6k hour player. I'm a streamer. As soon as I show I know how to play as effectively as you can against nurse these nurse players suddenly change the subject.
Plenty of other players out there who have shown they can play as well against her as well, who say she is broken/OP. Not sure what you're trying to argue, it's just wrong.

The most absurd lie these nurse mains say is that playing against nurse is a pure skill 50/50 interaction.
Do they actually think that? Do they not realize that a good nurse can put the survivor into many situations where no matter what the survivor chooses to do the survivor is getting hit.
How is that a 50/50 interaction? Do they actually think that? I'm fairly certain the people defending nurse in all these threads just don't know how to play her well enough.
There are many, many situations where no matter what the survivor does the nurse is getting that hit. Why even lie about that?

Plenty of survivors who are just as good at survivor as this guy is at nurse, too. Quite a few more players, I'd imagine, just due to the sheer numbers of how many more survivor players there are.

The same is true for Nurse.
It really isn't very hard to grasp.

That’s not remotely close to reality. Yeah, killer is easier to play now since the DH crutch is gone, but you still need to play well to win.
Every killer game I am playing I am getting 11 to 12 hook 4ks.
That's how I usually play, going for the 12 hooks rather than hard tunneling someone out right away (super boring "strategy", that, and the fact that even after this patch it is the most common play style for many killers is kind of embarassing).
Before this patch I would win often, lose often. Why? Because going for the 12 hook 4k means you had to play substantially better than a SWF team, and slightly better than solos.
Now? It is so, so easy to win. Imagine if I actually played optimally, hard tunneling the first player I hook out of the game.
It may not be your reality, but right now good killers are having such an amazingly easy time of it.

Cause survivors needed to perform well to win the game prior to the patch ?
Come on, survivors required 0 skill to win a game. That is why most of you here are complaining, you were total potatoes that did not even know how to properly loop, you were carried by DH and gen rush and now that you actually need more skill, you cannot perform at all.
Hilarious.
Actually, yeah. Before this patch at high mmr a single survivor mistake at the wrong time could mean the killer wins the game, just as a single killer mistake could mean the survivors win.
Nerfed Dead Hard plays a very small role in what is happening right now.

Just like pre nerf dead hard.
But killers still played.
This is the worst balance has been in years. When it was this bad, it was in favor of survivors. That was a long time ago. If you want to play the "killers good, survivors bad" card, go ahead. I'd rather discuss something that is fun and balanced for both sides. Right now survivor is not fun. I play solo survivor. It is a bloodbath. Killer is even less fun right now. Some people enjoy playing the game on easy mode. Not me. I'd rather there be some semblance of a challenge. It's way, way too easy. Maybe that's because I have about 3k hours in killer alone, but still. It shouldn't be this easy.

You were boosted by your perks and matched against killers too strong for you, lose more games and your MMR will adjust.
Yeah, that's not even close to what is happening here.
Balance is so out of whack that a killer doesn't even have to perform well, and can still win.

I've done a lot of both killer and survivor matches. Killer is mind-numbingly easy right now.

Nurse and Blight. Good to see the weakest killers getting some help from the devs...
