Stealth works against the Nurse. Yes, people say its boring.

But you know what also boring? Yes exactly, mindlessly running in circles is boring too.

The Nurses you face thank you for making their job easier. If you are wasting any significant amount of the Nurse's time stealthing around the map, that's the Nurse's fault.

  • Most people agree survivors can end games too quickly. It is possible to believe that both optimal survivors and nurse are in need of nerfs.

Care to show these great pieces of advice against a pro nurse in KYF?

Dont run straight at pallets. Act like it. Get her to commit. Learn how the nurse you're playing against uses her teleports, and play around them.

Dont get caught. Hide. Trust that you didnt get seen sometimes instead of freaking out and sprinting away trying to lose chase.

    Use. Your. Brain.

I'm not gonna use mine for you every time you have an issue you cant figure out.

Great strats. I'm sure it works well at whatever rank you are at.

So if it takes skill to be broken OP. It's not broken OP.

You just said It requires skill. So it's in the hands of whoever is playing her if shes good or not.

    /thread.

I've read a lot of senseless things on this message board, but this one takes the cake.

If you have skill with this killer, you can be broken OP, negating the skill of equally skillfull survivors! Wow.

You still didn't get the point, people claim nurse = op, takes no skill, appearently it does. No skill = no reward.

No one has ever said nurse takes no skill. What are you even talking about?

If nurse was "broken op" I dont think it would have mattered much if he played badly... he would have gotten the 4k anyways

Sigh..playing killer is a race against time. Because of the nature of the game (4v1), if you fail at doing your job (playing poorly), the survivors will do their only objective (what some people call Gen rushing). No matter how strong a killer is, if they play poorly their time will run out.

A nurse that plays well does not give enough time to have a chance to escape. The killer has to play poorly AND the survivors play phenomenonaly in order to BARELY have one survivor escape. If you don't consider that "brokenly over powered", especially taking into consideration the other matches in this experiment, I don't know what can be said to break you out of your fantasy bubble.

    Then just uninstall?

You're as bad as those "DC vs Legion" brats.

You get one killer out of what, 14 and cant handle a single challenging game?

Maybe try something less challenging. Minecraft?

Spoken like someone who can't stay in red ranks as killer unless they use nurse. I bet you loved abusing how broken legion was.

Why do the nurses have to be proclaimed not good? The depip squad steam rolls like 300 killers in the 3 experiments they performed having success rate of something crazy like 97% and all those killers must've bad right? LUL ...... they went against a 5 blink nurse on "the game" and still forced a depip if I remember correctly....

Why does it have to be "oh those nurses were bad" and why cant it actually be "the survivors were actually really good"..... just fit the narrative or??

Again, just watch the games and if you have any knowledge of high rank game play you will see.

I have not watched any of the games with the other killers, but all that proves is that SWF is also super unhealthy for the game.

  • @Bravo0413 said:

Why does it even matter that ruin broke within 20 seconds? Nurse doesnt need ruin and none of the killers should need ruin.... either way his goal is fooked because 2 people have escaped and it's because he played poorly which shows the character is not broken and is based off of the players skill...

The player played poorly, and prooves that you need to play well in team games or your opponents will take advantage. Colour me surprised. Is this a serious comment?

  • @Sluzzy said:

Sounds like the depip squad winning 99% of their matches and against nurses too. And against really good nurses too.

Nurse Haters: "Please devs, nerf nurse so we can team up on discord and bully killers. It is so unfair!"

Did you...watch those games? Most of those Nurses were by no metric 'really good'. Please watch those nurse games and comment again.

These survivors, a mix of swf and solos all with full perks can't survive against Salgu, yet the de-pip squad won most of their games despite being perkless. Why? I'll give you a hint. Killer skill difference.

  • I don't know what is worse, people who have never played at high ranks trying to discuss balance, or people saying "lalalalal everything is perfectly balanced" when there are obvious, glaring balance issues in the game.

Did you believe old legion was perfectly balanced too? Just because something was put in the game by the developers doesn't mean it is balanced... Especially in this kind of game, balance is a discussion that needs to be had. When it is 4 players versus 1, balance can be broken so easily.

What even is this post? "nothing is unbalanced! Just play better!" ha..

Maybe that’s because nurse doesn’t auto down people and the depip squad knows how to play against her?

I have had my fair share of multi-minute nurse chases. Do you know what I say to myself when a nurse doesn't down me within 30 seconds? It isn't "wow! I guess I know how to play against nurse now!" or "wow! Juking against nurse isn't so tough! Why are so many people complaining?" No. I say "it's a good thing this nurse isn't playing well."

In my opinion, Dead hard is the most CONSISTENT (key word) way to waste a Nurse's time. None of the survivors in the de-pip games had exhaustion perks. Nothing they were doing was extraordinarily special (in chases) and yet it was taking minutes to down them for most chases. That means the nurse is either not good, or not playing well.

I love the comment a little bit below yours too. "hey, zubat has 2k hours in nurse so i think it is fine he does this well with nurse." while I know it isn't realistic, I wish the forums linked to your steam account so you could just scroll past players who have never played against a real nurse.

Lol. I suck as Survivor, mate. But that's me being bad, not any Killer being OP.

But there's a trick to being chased by the Nurse:

Get a feel for when she will teleport; just before you think she will Blink, juke DIRECTLY BACK AT HER.

Most Nurse players don't think to look down to shorten their Blink, and will overshoot you. Heck, allot of skilled Nurses will not be able to react in time, either.

Sure; it's harder to lose a Nurse, but not impossible, and you can make a chase costly enough that your friendo's can pop a few gens, or she gives up and picks a new target.

This is the mentality of people who believe Nurse is balanced. Sorry to single you out, but this kind of comment is seen too often in these threads about Nurse. Survivors who don't have experience playing against real Nurses talking like they know what they are talking about.

I just watched 9 of the de-pip squad's nurse games. Holy cow, what a waste of time. Of those 9 matches only 1 nurse had ruin. Despite not having dead hard or any exhaustion perks these Nurses were failing to down any of the survivors for minutes at a time. The final one I watched (game map - a great map for nurse) saw the nurse not get a single hook until 2 and a half minutes into the game.

The only decent nurse I saw was on the game map (different nurse than I mentioned before). I hesitate to call this batch of Nurses bad, but wow. Those who haven't seen the de-pip squad's games against Nurses, please watch. After so many people referencing it as proof that nurse is beatable, I admit I was slightly curious if my opinion that nurse is broken was flawed. For those who haven't watched, please do. It's a lesson on how not to play against SWF groups.

2 Nurses that I saw were just memeing (no perks or addons), almost no nurse had ruin, despite no exhaustion perks on the survivors these Nurses had trouble downing anyone for loooong stretches of time. No Gen pressure. Blinks to nowhere. Sorry to say, but all that experiment prooves is that they played some truly not good Nurses.

No offense but the depip squad beat one of the best nurses in the game that played nothing but nurse for thousands of hours. Your argument that a god nurse can't be defeated is flawed. The only threat in this game is SWF.

You know, there's a lot of god huntresses in DBD thats near impossible to beat, should we nerf huntress too?

I am one of those 'God huntresses.' I don't win every game. There are lots of things that contribute to that. Getting a bad map (why is haddonfield a map..?). Having a bad first chase, getting tunnel vision on a Survivor who is good at chasing. Having a bad game. Not playing mean, etc.

I don't know who this "God nurse" is who lost to the de-pip squad, but I'm sure if you asked that killer why he lost, the answer would be 'I played awful'. If the nurse plays optimally, the nurse wins. And that's putting aside the fact that the survivors in that 'experiment' are SWF. I don't play SWF and and I'm not talking about SWF. This game is not balanced around SWF. For all I care the effectiveness of playing in a SWF can be hard-nerfed.

And sorry, no offense, but imagine thinking "the only thing as over powered as nurse beat nurse! That means nurse is okay!" and thinking that's not a useless comment. Sorry solo players! You all lose every game against good Nurses no matter your skill level because nurse is needed to be broken in order to deal with top-level SWF groups. Too bad!

This thread is about Nurse, though. What are the numbers? She is played in a quarter of red rank games? If that's wrong, my bad, but in my experience that's a fair assessment. It's not fun having a 1/4 chance to play against a killer that all but nullifies all the skill I have built up in this game as survivor. Assymetrical game or no, that is bad balance.

in asia mid rankers perform like this and some people have even better accuracy with better jukers, cause they not much playing this game since not even close to progression as competetive game

No, they don't. Mid-rankers in Asia are potatoes too. I play in that region. If I don't play for a while after rank reset, going against green rank and purple rank survivors is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Back to the topic, though... It's a bit infuriating that so many people comment on these threads about Nurse when they have no idea what they are talking about. Like, sorry, but this conversation about Nurse balance is only for players of high rank who actually know what a nurse who has learned the character can do. Not for console players. Not for people in green ranks, not for people who have never gone past purple ranks. Yes, that probably leaves out a lot of the player population, but it is what it is.

A nurse at a certain skill level can not lose if the nurse plays optimally, even against survivors of equal skill or better skill. I've seen many people say "killer is the power role, of course a good killer should win!" When one side (nurse) and dominates to the point that the other side (survivors) are afforded no chance to survive, that is a balance problem.

While I do tend to agree that good survivors have the ability to end games too quickly at high ranks, and that something should be done about that, this is about Nurse. She needs to be tuned down. If you disagree, I seriously question if you have ever played a game against a high rank nurse.

If nurse is eventually (and deservedly) tuned down, I do hope the play style stays as similar to possible to how she plays now. Some of the most fun games I've played have been against Nurses who aren't good enough to be completely dominant with her, but still pose a huge threat.

I don't understand people like you. I see good Nurse players lose to good Survivors all the time. Sometimes you just get outplayed, that's how life goes. You can't be perfect every game.

Nurse is the only Killer in the game other than Spirit who actually rewards the player getting good with them. Every other Killer is so weak in one way or another that a Survivor who is good at their role will beat you consistently.

This is why people complain about Nurse and Spirit: they are actually good Killers, and Survivors are used to 'ruling the roost' as it were.

Don't worry. I understand people like you. If you are seeing "good Nurses" losing to good survivors, it means you were watching bad Nurses. Full stop.

If one side plays bad they should lose? Of course. That's the point of a game. If you don't play as well as the other side, you lose. That is what makes a game fun. There are so many not-great Nurses at high ranks because the nurse's power is so stifling and overpowering. Meanwhile, the Nurses who are actually good just get 4k's every game, regardless of survivor skill. That isn't a game, that's a one-sided experience. One side experiences being a killer, the other side experiences being slaughtered.

And if you are going to suggest 'just learn to play against nurse' like the other kid, then I'll guarantee you that I am much, much better at dealing with nurse than you are. I actually play at top red ranks, and in reality (not the imaginary land where nurse is a balanced killer).

Not only is outright removing a killer lazy balancing, but she's too integrated into the game to be removed at all. She is not broken, at all. Like I said, she is easily the most balanced killer in the game. Her entire kit is nothing but a skill curve. You only die to nurses that are better than you. There's no luck. There's no fault to map, to layout, or anything. A Nurse wins by being good, and loses by being bad. This is how all killers should be, but because of the core mechanics of the game, it's just never going to happen.

So learning nurse to a certain point allows a nurse to win every game. This is balance, in your mind? Because that's how it is right now.

You say that you only lose to a nurse that is better than you are. It's amusing that nurse mains actually believe this. Once a nurse reaches a skill plateau, there is nothing survivors can do. It might as well be a single-player game at that point. It is not fun, nor balanced to have no chance to win.

Continue playing your nurse with the mindset that you have earned free wins because you have learned how to play her. If nurse does eventually get the nerf that is long overdue, it will be satisfying knowing that players like you will have to actually learn how to play killer.

  • Playing nurse is like playing on super easy mode. No, I haven't played nurse since I realized how fundamentally broken she is as a killer. My main is huntress but I play many other killers.

I've played with/against salgu, goku, sami, deokman, etc (all those popular Korean streamers) many times. I know what I'm talking about. Their skill is no different than the top North American killers. Same goes for the survivor side.

If you believe you can do so much better, please try.

  • I play on the Korean server. Rank 1 killer and survivor within the first week of rank reset. It always amuses me when Koreans think they are somehow gods of the game and players from other regions are awful. There are amazing survivors and killers in Korea as well as in other regions (although I have never played on the Europe servers nor do I watch their streams.)

And there are players who are not good. You say green rank players in Korea can easily beat red rank players? I say green rank Korean players are complete potatoes, just like on other servers.

You probably also believe Myers is top tier on North American servers too? Guess what. He ain't.

Have you ever even played at red ranks on Korean servers? It seems to me like you are a low rank player who only watches streams. What you said and what I've experienced are completely different. Good Nurses are easy on Korean servers for experienced survivors?? Hhahahhahahhahabbaha funny.
