How much harder do you want to make it?! Going against good survivors, you'll struggle to get a down because of holding forward, instadropped pallets, and no-mindgame loops. Killer still isn't in a pretty spot, and we all know this because you can jump on a low tier like Freddy or Wraith and get absolutely steam rolled, not even by amazing survivors but by just good enough survivors who happen to do gens quick.

What? I don't really play Freddy much, so I can't comment, but if you are a good killer as Wraith you won't get even close to steam rolled.

Killer is in the strongest place it has ever been. Since the big patch killer has been so easy even at top MMR. I only go for 12 hooks, never slug the last guy, so there have been some games that have gotten away from me, but I can confidentely say that if I put pressure on a hook at the right time, didn't always leave the hook, I would have 95 percent plus win rate as killer since the big patch.

I've seen some comments of your suggesting that the survival rate is so low because survivors make too many mistakes. I'm going to counter with a "there are a HUGE number of killers absolutely boosted by camping and tunneling the first hook - a skilless 'strat' that is the strongest way to play at every mmr."

I'd say the reason those Freddy or Wraith players (is it you?) are getting steam rolled is because they aren't supposed to be playing at the mmr they are playing at.

The only thing hard about killer right now is playing for a 12 hook win.

Please tell me where I want gens to be faster,SBMM to be more unfun and DH back in this thread.

Don't worry. Some players who only play killer undoubtedly saw the title of your post and got butthurt.

There are a lot of players on this forum who don't care about balance, and only want their side to be the strongest ('killer should be able to dominate!!').

  • Great ideas. Better than the devs have done for a long while, now.

There are also some troublesome perks like Prove Thyself and Call of the Brine which should probably be looked at, too.

  • Average kill rate increase of almost 10 percent seems pretty clear cut.

When are you going to acknowledge solo queue, devs?

  • STBFL is too often used by killers who take it as their free token to 'protect' the hook and get super value by acting as a mini-Bubba.

With how much value camping gives against solo queue, STBFL adds an even greater chance of snowball if you try to save that hooked person.

"don't save people on hooks. Just do gens" - that's the advice people give if you face a camping killer, but the number of situations where that advice is given is increasing and increasing, leading to real stale gameplay.

It is rather interesting to me, that many survivor perks that would be too powerful in endgame like Decisive or Off the Record are deactivated, but a perk like STBFL which all but guarantees a free kill in endgame stays active.

STBFL is obviously a bit overtuned right now. It should be at the very least returned to its old values. Anyone who disagrees, especially with the the killer base kit buffs, is really showing their bias.

  • Reduce the chance RPD can spawn to 0.0001 percent. That's as good as any RPD rework will be.

  • This guy: "survivors misplaying proves nothing."

What he means: "survivors exisiting means I deserve a 4k for playing nurse."

It's almost as if they're changing subject, talk about something else because they don't have any good argument to add.

It's true. They don’t have a single solid argument.

The fact is, they think nurse is fine because they've spent years playing her, being conditioned to think they deserve the easy wins her OP mechanics give. That's it. I've seen the gameplay of one of these nurse defenders. It makes me understand why they defend her so much.

Really? I hit survivors all the time with single blinks as Nurse, especially at close range. Perhaps you have a skill issue?

I think you hit the nail on the head. The way that guy talks about nurse is like he thinks nurse needs buffs.

Too bad skill issues make so many people not understand balance.

  • Too bad. Would have been nice to see them all go down in 10 seconds against probably the first actual good nurse they've ever played against.

  • Nurse is for players who want to win regardless of if they are actually better than the other side or not.

Devs have been VERY slowly fixing those things (moris, keys, Spirit, etc).

    Her time will come.

  • I've met several cheaters already since this patch was released, and I just have to shrug my shoulders and go to the next game because the only option is to block the player.

Might be time for an actual anti-cheat system? BHVR have surely made enough money off all those feng min skins by now, you'd think.

    10% is not a little.

But the current (and always) game problem is that if killer able to down a survivor early then camp/tunnel, the result will be at least 2-3k no effort.

Which cause survivors feel they always have to gen rush.

This is the best answer here.

Especially when you face a killer like nurse, that lost distance after getting hit is so noticable.

Once again nurse benefitting the most.

Ppl just need to get good, if you get tunneled that means you’re the weakest link. If you got downed maybe try not going down in the first place. Or maybe your not as good as you think you are. But hey just a observation lol

I know that it goes both ways that there are Nurses who down all 4 and bleed em out. I dont like that either since i am on no "side" and want that killers and Survivors can tolerate each other without the us vs them mentality. But i think it will never happen. Also i play 80% of the time killer i also think Nurse needs a major nerf. But its in the hand of the devs to do something.

Unfortunately they probably won't do anything. If they nerf nurse they would have to nerf swf too or the forums would explode.

Nice to imagine, though: 3-4 man groups being nerfed, as well as nurse.

  • @Brix said:

Thats what i hate. Ppl complain about strong killers and DC right away but against weaker killers they clown on them and beeing disrespectful. I will never get this mentality honestly. Do ppl just wanna win so badly as Survivor and rub it into the Killers face?

"do ppl just wanna win so badly as Survivor and rub it into the Killers face"

Replace 'survivor' with 'nurse' and 'killers' with 'survivors'.

Nurse isn't a strong killer. She is an overpowered killer.

  • @JoaoVanBlizzard said:

I don't know, an idea that I thought is that I could have an experience, that one day of the month, the SWF option was disabled and also Nurser, Blight and Spirit could not be chosen either, and the devs on that day would collect the number of players who played the game that day

It's a complicated subject because people complain about all ideas, but one thing is a fact, the game shouldn't be like this: Survivors should have a voice chat in the game, even playing solo, and all killers had the strength to face any type of surv, the devs' focus should be this

All I know is the few weeks Nurse was disabled was the most fun I had had in DBD for a long time. I think feeling like you had a chance to win rather than hearing the screech of a player playing nurse deciding to get an easy win in like 20 percent of games.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163618#Comment_3163618

Even if I agree that the nurse is one of the most powerful killers in the game, she still requires experience and knowledge of how she works; some of the tricks of the gameplay only come with time, and against a minimally organized team, a beginner or average nurse will have a hard time 🤔

But what you say, the comparison with the other killers, is interesting: in fact, I think the nurse is the killer that requires the MOST concentration, involvement and finesse of play from the survivors.

In fact, somewhere yes, a survivor team that plays with the same level of "quality", if I may say, as against another killer, will have a harder time against the nurse, yes, absolutely.

Precisely because against a nurse, the survivors will have to play a more precise, faster, and more efficient game. But nothing impossible, though.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3163656#Comment_3163656

    "rotten and broken"

Don't exaggerate: the nurse is complicated to play against, more complicated than other killers, but to say that she represents a "rotten and broken" aspect of the game is not only false, but it's also disrespectful to the players who like to play her ... and somehow to the players who ... like to play against her ... 🤔

That you don't like to play against her, you have the right, of course ... that you can't play against her ... you have the right too, no worries ... but from there to make a world generalization ...🤔

    Don't exaggerate, guys.

You are suggesting that for something to be overpowered it must be impossible to beat.

That is not what "overpowered" means. It means an unfair advantage is provided to the player playing that character, which is what happens when someone chooses to play nurse.

Moris used to function the same way. And keys. They were both overpowered because they allowed the player using them to become much more powerful than a fair match should allow.

Was it possible to beat a key? Sure, slug everyone. Was it possible to beat old moris? Sure, never get hooked (lol...old moris were so OP, can't believe it took so long to fix them - like Nurse). Is it possible to beat nurse? As solo queue? Sure, if each individual outplays the nurse to a ridiculous degree, which won't happen if that nurse is also a really good player.

The things listed above are perfect examples of "overpowered." It isn't really in question. It is shocking to me that so many people defend such a broken character.

  • @Sava18 said:

Bruh I watch my survivor friend play every day and killers literally only go for 2 survivors max and proxy camp. I don't get it. It's so boring to play like that, no skill even if you win from it in the end. Most survivors and killers in this game are so lame.

A lot of survivor players are boosted, but something the killer mains on this forum won't admit is a ton of killers are boosted too.

They play as you described, but it works, so they keep doing it, never actually displaying any skill. Then they face some survivors much better than they are, and cry about it on these forums.

So they want to keep convince themselves they are better than they are, I think. And the only way they can get kills at the MMR they boosted themselves to is to keep playing the same way because they know if they actually did chases the way actual good killers do they would be destroyed.

  • Myers could use some love, yeah, but on the killer roster Nurse needs to be changed most of all. Like, by a lot.

  • It is especially painful right now because this map's spawn chance is so high right now due to the patch.

    Such a bad map.

  • The two killers who survivors seem to have surprisingly difficult time against are Pinhead and Oni.

Pinhead for the reasons you mentioned, and it seems like every time there is an Oni my teammates decide to give him his power as quickly as humanly possible.

  • What...? It is my twitch account.

They asked for specific matches as and against nurse so I found and shared one of each.

After posting they lied and said they couldn't find it while also saying I have terrible gameplay (despite being a top player, have been in tournaments, and helped other top teams practice for scrims). Strange how they not only couldn't find it but also somehow watched the gameplay.

The person you seem to be agreeing with is intentionally lying because that's the only way to convince himself he is right about nurse.

Though, judging by your comments in this thread I don't see much point responding to you anymore.

I watched 2 different twitch videos of the one person. 0 nurse games played or against. It's like ok then. I seen enough of their mediocre gameplay

As I have said several times, both a video of me playing as nurse and against nurse were provided (exact locations) in threads you were in. Not my problem if you watched other videos.

Maybe you're jealous because I don't have trouble moving my camera. I don't know...lying is so unnecessary though. If you feel the need to constantly lie then just don't post anything.

I don't DC myself, but I don't blame people who do against her either.

A nurse who uses her best addons/perks ruins the game for the survivors she goes against just as much as people who DC ruin the game for their teammates.

  • @SuzuKR said:

You are an absurdly good player. The odds that matchmaking will actually give you a full lobby of survivors that are all equal to your level or better is basically nil. Ergo, to not make queue take hours, matchmaking will give you average lobbies. Someone that is leaps and yards better than the absolute majority of any lobby they could be matched against is going to decimate basically every lobby ever. That's a given. A world-champion chess grandmaster against an average chess hobby player is going to one-way rout them.

And that's an unavoidable issue of any versus matchmaking game ever. As you go higher and higher up the skill ladder, there's less and less players that are at that level, so matchmaking them to even lobbies becomes increasingly harder.

You will say anything to avoid accepting the truth, that her mechanics allow her to steamroll.

    It's pretty sad..

Yes, it does. And I have said many times that SWF needs to be dealt with too. :/

I do mostly agree with you, but I can't agree that the unfair match is caused by full SWF premade with VOIP. I'd be willing to argue that even a 3-man SWF can make enough of a difference to make it somewhat unbalanced aswell.

As for 2x2 SWF premades with VOIP, I would no longer say so, as the informations from them aren't shared between each other, but between just one other person instead of between two or three additional people.

Yes, the scales start tipping between a 2 and 3 person group.

It would be ideal if the devs could buff solo queue, nerf SWF groups with a higher number of members, and nerf Blight ('s numerous great addons) and Nurse.

I don't think they even know how to, so all of these nurse threads seem a bit pointless, regardless of how necessary they are.

  • @Neprašheart said:

That's just because MMR doesn't seem to be working as intended, or because you aren't playing at the „peek times“. Another possible reason for that is because you're using specific (currently one of the strongest) killer characters, and relying on META perks.

I do play without gen. regression perks for years, and it's a difference between day and a night whenever I use just one gen. regression perk over the other ones that I just love using and have loved using even when they weren't considered to be META. That does, of course, apply towards add-ons aswell. It's a huge difference to play as Rin without add-ons and then with Mother-Daughter Ring and Dried Cherry Blossom add-on combination.

Details, details, details! As silly as this may sound, they're truly important in this case.

If I wanted to win every game I would play nurse, Blight or Spirit. Thankfully, I actually care about playing a balanced game, so I don't.

As a really good killer unless you are facing a 4-man SWF with comms you aren't going to get a fair matchup right now.

So you won’t provide evidence that she’s easy is what you’re saying? So then why should I believe your claim that she’s easy?

If you claim something, want the devs to do something about it, you should be able to provide evidence for your reasoning. Otherwise it just looks like you’re whining.

If you truly want to see my gameplay, check through my comments. You can easily find it there.

The reason I won't post it again? The comments below yours. Those two care nothing for the truth or balance, only to make their own egos feel better.

Been there, done that. I've already provided my twitch account on here before. Don't feel the need to do it again.

I have 6k hours, have been in several tournaments, and am considered a really good player on the Korean server.

Believe if you want to. Don't believe if you don't want to. Either is fine.

I speak from lots of experience. After the player playing nurse puts some time into her, the Nurse's OP mechanics allow her to defeat players better than she is.

  • Plenty of space for all kinds of threads about nurse. Nothing else really needs to be said. Devs just need to be informed. It has only been 6 years, after all. I'm sure they'll get to it soon.

It’s embarrassing you still think best = OP. Also that you don’t see the nonsense in just making something a worse version of another thing instead of its own thing.

That's not what 'OP' being in parenthesis means.

I was not saying that best = OP even though in this case yes, Nurse who is the best killer is also the most OP character in the game.

I don't care what they do with nurse at this point, as long as they do something soon. Tired of going up against a Dead man's pain resonance nurse spamming her best addons and having nurse players pretend like the bug fix to her purple range addon makes her fine.

You appear to be either failing to understand mathematical calculations, or basic human parlance. Now to be fair the other poster appears to not be a native English speaker/writer, or alternatively typing quickly without proofreading. I cannot help you understand how other people use language, but I can try to help you understand math. I tried to lay it out as simply as possible, but I suppose I have to be even more verbose for clarity.

Your claim was the Survivor was 41.6m away from the Nurse after she landed a 2 blink attack, recovered all charges, and finished one blink again. You failed to account for the Nurse's movement toward the Survivor which resulted in less than 3m of distance once the Blink, which you included in your calculation of time, was completed.

    1. Under the assumption a Nurse landed a 2 blink hit, they have a fatigue of 3.5s. This is calculated from 2s base fatigue, .5s extra blink fatigue, and 1s attack bonus fatigue. The 3.5s is spent with Nurse moving at fatigue speed, which is .96m/s (Where m/s is short hand for meters per second)
    2. The time to recover one charge of blink takes 3 seconds, since the Nurse already waited 3.5s in fatigue they have 2.5s of non fatigue to recover their 2nd blink. This is done at normal walking speed. Nurse's normal walk speed is 3.85m/s.
    3. The first Blink has a charge time of 2s to reach maximum distance, which makes the Nurse move at a reduced 2.89m/s.
    4. Finally the Nurse's time spent in the first Blink is accounted for in which she moves at 13.33m/s over the course of 1.5s.
    5. When you add up the distance covered in the Survivor's 9.5s and subtract the Nurse's distance in 9.5s, you get the net distance gained by the Survivor after the 1st blink of two following a successful 2 Blink attack. Note this is without any add-ons for recharge, bugged distance speed, or lessened fatigue timers.
    6. This net distance is 2.835m after the 1st blink is completed. This distance isn't close enough to lunge, but the Nurse has a 2nd blink and at that distance the onus is upon the Nurse to not screw up.

Your claim of the Survivor being ~42m away from the Nurse after 9.5s is actually ~3m. Also in your other example the Nurse is 2.46m away with their 2nd blink to spare. This also doesn't account for lunge or 1 blink hits against cornered survivors, which skew even further in the Nurse's favor. Yes, it takes 9.5s after a 2 blink hit to be in a situation where the killer must misplay in order to miss the hit, and it takes a short while to charge the follow up blink and land the attack. That being said it is far shorter than the basekit ~18s of time gained for most other killers, which can also be extended by expending limited use resources on the map. The Nurse has no such map macro resource play to be used in the survivor's favor.

Now all my math is based on using the wiki's information on the Nurse, however the ~18s is used from the old hold W claim resulting in 20s of time before being caught after a hit. This is roughly adjusted to be 10% less time, as the Killer attack cooldown and Survivor speed boost were each reduced by 10%.

One last thought to help make the Nurse more comparable to other killers is to have blinks take longer when passing through pallets and the walls attached to them, and also a short time after vaulting a window. This would help make the time that map resources have to offer still affect Nurse in a similar fashion, making her actually use the existing mechanics of the game without rebuilding her from the ground up. Blinks could take 1s longer to pass through a pallet or wall connected to a dropped pallet. As for windows, it could use the same system for 3-5s after a vault, but only delay the wall/window blink by .25s to .5s. This could allow for a Survivor to gain time by dropping a pallet at say a 4 lane wall. The Nurse would then need to break the pallet or take 1 additional second to arrive at a blink if it passes the pallet, the long wall, or the short wall during the blink. The numbers here are strictly guesstimates, and could use testing.

    Thanks for writing that out.

I couldn't be bothered to do the math, but his math was completely contradictary to all experiences facing nurse.

Funny how almost every killer I face seems to be doing that challenge.

  • I never slug for the 4k and I truly don't understand why people do.

The game is already won. At that point it doesn't even feel like part of the game because the result won't change.

I haven't said a single thing that can be considered misinformation.

    You, on the other hand...

I'm not sure why you care so much about nurse. There are other easy ways to "win" every game you play. Just play Blight with his busted addons.

  • Solo survivors << low tier killers < average swf <<< nurse/Blight = top swf

Solo survivors have little chance if the killer has equal skill and decides to play "dirty"

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 20
