  • Good killers don't get beaten by stealth.

Could you please elaborate what the difference between " easy" and "easy win" is?

I think my example with nurse was pretty good.

Learning nurse is not easy. Once you have learned her, you get easy wins.

A thousand hours as Killer since when flashlights blinded you in real life is quite a bit of experience.

Like I said, this game is STILL Survivor sided, by far.

But there are two experiences, the cheating using voice comma with friends and solo-lottery.

When Survivors play to win and not to stupid risky challenges, they have a the chances and tools to win easy.

Also Killer requires 5x more effort to 4k than for Survivors to 4e.

And I have three times your experience with killer alone.

I have no interest in defending SWF. It is brokenly OP at the very top.

Anything lower than the very top? The killer can win, no problem.

    Keep practicing. You'll get there.

It ain't the easy role. Killer.

So perfect balance for you then, after the patch. Epic.

I see you are just a troll. One last time, though.

I never said playing killer is "easy."

I said it has become "easy-win"

Nurse is not easy to learn/play. But, she is very easy to win with. See the difference?

Seems you have very little experience in the game, though. You should learn the game more before you complain. Actual good/experienced players see your comment and laugh at how bad/new you sound.

Boosted killers getting easy kills they don’t deserve.

Hahahaha so much for the power role huh?

So that's what your friends tell you on Discord about Killers? How's the E key in your keyboard is it blurry?

    Seems I struck a nerve..

    I don't play SWF. I don't mind Dead Hard's nerf.

"Power Role" should not mean the "Easy-Win Role".

  • Boosted killers getting easy kills they don’t deserve.

Boosted survivors not able to last 3 seconds in a chase.

MMR not putting anyone where they are supposed to be

If it was just Dead hard that was nerfed none of this outcry would be happening.

    Devs did a big bad.

The key to stealth is to hide while simultaneously making the killer look for you.

Hiding for the sake of it is obviously pointless but if you keep making the killer proxy your Last Known Location, that's almost the same thing as looping.

Good killers don't waste time on that.

  • Don't know what these people are talking about. Stealth can't consistently buy you any meaningful time against a killer who actually knows how to play.

If you can't find survivors well, that's fine, but all the top killers would love it if you spent more of your time trying to stealth.

  • I see that "survivors just don't know how to play without Dead hard" will become the newest lie on the forums.

I was getting pretty tired of the "survivors just don't want to learn how to play against Nurse"

  • For players with a lot of hours the grind has always been addons. This patch makes that grind worse.

Fewer high level bloodwebs means spending much more to get less.

So much for a reduction of the grind.

  • Devs are just throwing ideas at a board and hoping they stick.

    That's the only explanation.

There are four groups in this game:

Nurse+Blight > SWF > lower tier killers > solo survivors.

    That was before this patch.

How they can continuously ignore solo survivors is beyond me. I think that when they do game testing they only do it in groups. Maybe they arent aware of how awful solo queue is.

  • Can pretty much gather from this thread that the devs put very little importance on solo queue survivors.

Solo queue has already needed help for a long time now. With this new patch it will be even worse. Solo queue help nowhere on the short term or long term road map.

I think maybe the devs when they do testing only do testing in groups? Never as solo survivors? Otherwise they couldn't possibly think solo queue is in an acceptable state, could they?

What I'm saying here is that Survivors dare to have the gull to complain about Nurse. After they have REPEATEDLY done NOTHING BUT abuse the crap out of every single broken AF thing they could get their hands on. Most of all when it's ALL THEIR FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE. I'll say this again, making the game all about looping instead of hiding and juking was THE SURVIVORS FAULT. They are the ones who lied their asses off with the BS "We want to be chased all game, that's what's fun!" In order to protect their shiny new exploit, because they were still REELING from the loss of true Infinites. To which the developers gave it to them.

Then you go on a rant about "0.5% of SWF groups blah blah blah". Bull crap it's "0.5%", not to mention way to move the goal post there. Voice comms on ANY SWF gives them a HUGE advantage. Simple things such as saying "The Killer is chasing me." This lets ALL other members of the SWF know it's safe to do gens, to cut out any hesitation. "Come get me, killer is chasing someone else." "Come over here to get healed." ect. ect.

This creates a massive power shift. "0.5%" is yet another strawman by SWF's who want to dominate. Simply because even if all 4 survivors, and the killer are of even MMR and ranking, SWF will always have a leg up because of voice comms. Survivors getting boosted way beyond their actual skill level because of it. Then Survivors have the audacity to whine about someone who's put the time in to get good with Nurse to counter it.

Complaining about Nurse is nothing more than Survivors putting the blame on Killers for THIER OWN BS. You wanted the game to be about Looping? Fine. You want to have a massive advantage with SWF. Fine. The developers gave you what you wanted, now quit whining Nurse, who came BEFORE ALL THIS, negates it.

Also, as a 80% solo Queue Survivor and a real horror fan. THANKS A LOT! Thanks to ego stroking SWF groups. Thanks to Survivors who can't do anything that require more brain power than running in circles, and pressing spacebar now and then, and holding M1. THANKS TO THEM, I have to have a nightmare of a game as Killer half the time. I have to have a nightmare as solo queue survivor nearly ALL THE TIME.

What really makes me angry though isn't playing the Killer, but the Survivor. I've been forced to give up the fun I had being SCARED. Now Killers have Killer Instinct all the time, Aura reading base kit or perks OUT THE YING-YANG, and LORD ONLY KNOWS how many Gen Regression perks because of Looping wasting SO MUCH DAMN TIME off the Killer. That and because SWF having ZERO DOWN TIME CAUSE THEY ALWAYS KNOW WHERE/WHAT THE KILLER IS AT/DOING! So Killers need slow down perks.

THANKS SO VERY MUCH for turning this in a FREAKING BENNY HILL CLOWN FIESTA instead of a ######### your pants HORROR GAME LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!

The natural process of every single game ever made is for the player to find the strongest possible way to play. Blaming survivor players for using the strongest strategy is like blaming the sky for being blue.

It is definitely good the devs chose to accept the looping route, though. Had they kept it a horror game I think most of the playerbase would have left ages ago.

You are right about SWF. It is embarrassingly OP. The sooner the devs nerf SWF, the better (buffing solo to SWF, and then buffing low tier killers to match is a terrible, terrible idea. I really hope that idea disappears from the forums).

Blaming the survivor players is a bit odd, I think. Of course, I've seen many survivor players exploit as many things as they possibly can. And yet, I've seen the exact same from killer players. It's almost like we are all just players.

Some fun examples: when new Legion came out and devs didn't fix him/her for months, Legion was one of the most exploited characters. Seemed like every killer you met was exploiting Legion. Devs took their sweet time fixing that one.

Or when myers could still increase his gauge without even seeing the survivor, just by continuing to hold the button. Oh yeah, saw a whole lot of that.

Or too many killers to count mori-cancelling over and over? Remember that?

Plenty more, of course. But you get the point.

I think you are probably a similar player to me. I play only solo-queue, and I play plenty of killer, just not the OP nurse and blight anymore. Makes the game too easy.

I'd suggest don’t blame the SWF players. Most of the players now weren't even around back then, anyways. Instead, blame the devs for doing nothing to help solo queue players and lower tier killers.

People who lump everyone together are absolutely the worst, I don't see how you can really expect to hold any crediblity whatsoever with those statements, also I want you to know those are opinions not facts opinions so dont go pushing them around like they hold any legibility whatsoever. It's such a dumb flawed logic that people like you use, and there's only one factor that you mentioned yourself Entitlement. (lol it even works on you.)

Also just because you played the game since 2016 doesn't mean your 'opinion' holds any legibility whatsoever just so you know before you fall down from that high horse of yours, yes solo q should be buffed, but just because you hate Nurse with a passion doesn't mean you get to dictate what is fair and what isn't fair. People hate huntress a killer people often find unfair because of her hitboxes and is another killer that is somewhat complained about and when she was first released people complained and complained about the rules and how pallets and vaults are supposed to be safe which I find ironic since half your point is she somehow breaks the games foundations.

It's also awfully hilarious how you try to dictate and lecture others about what isn't fair and what is fair like you are some kind of developer, hey guess what the devs decide what is or isn't allowed in this game and newsflash they made Nurse isn't that funny? Also newsflash god nurses are few and far between like seal team 6 swfs if you really think that oh no im going to get god Nurses every game I dont know what to tell you. Also newsflash she isn't cheat mode when you learn how to play her, you act as if getting good at a character in the game is on par with cheating when in reality its just getting good at a character in a game lol. Contrary to popular belief I doubt there is even a Nurse that never makes mistakes, even the best Nurse I know of SuperAlf makes mistakes so please show me your mystical god nurses that are just in every match and everyones closet ready to jump out at you at a moments notice in solo q.

Also not everyone plays Nurse to stomp, I play Nurse because she is fun, her ascetic, and because she was the first character I played in dbd just because I didn't like how trapper played and she one of the other free characters besides huntress and Nurse. I mained both huntress and Nurse and I was absolutely terrible at both, you act as if everyone goes into killers with just this competitive mindset that oh "im going to be the strongest killer ever that will teach those pesky survivors." When in actuality please explain to everyone why a console player would want to play Nurse in 2017 when sensitivity was awful and you could barely even do a 90 degree turn until the sensitivity update and the framerate was so awful that it stuttered my game every blink. Obviously I just wanted to stomp right, there is no way someone would play Nurse because they liked them oh no why would anyone do such a thing unthinkable really.

Honestly I don't say this a lot, but people like you really make me hate the forums, but go ahead fulfill your daily quota of "everyone who doesnt have same opinion as me is wrong and humph they just wanna exploit game mechanics." Come back to me when you are a developer that works for BHVR and let me know when Nurse actually somehow disobeys the untold made up powerful laws of the game. Also try not to lump in people just because you dislike the thing they enjoy. :)

You're really grasping at straws here.

I have yet to see a single "fact" that suggests Nurse shouldn't be nerfed.

So far all you've managed to say is "your opinions are opinions, my opinions are facts".

By the way, if you are still playing console and that‘s why you don't think nurse should be touched...like, yeah, I understand where you are coming from. But, PC nurse is many, many, times better than console nurse. But you already knew that, right? You can't be suggesting nurse be unchanged because she isn't OP on console..can you? I assume you know this, but...maybe not.

Another one of the people defending nurse seems to play with a controller on PC, and can't use the camera to look around very well, so I'm starting to believe that the people defending nurse are just claiming to know the game well but really, really, really don't.

As someone who has put many hours into the game and has lots of experience myself, I can say for sure that the person you replied to knows exactly what he is talking about. He has detailed knowledge of how the game works. All you've said, however...

What you're saying here is, because of the 0,5% of the player base who concentrate the following conditions: FUll SWF, competitive, sweaty tryhard experienced players with many hours using meta perks, then the rest of the playerbase, the vast majority of survivor players have to be at a tremendous disadvantage and just never have a fair winning chance. Forget about it if you're with randoms against a veteran Nurse. Nurse is broken and absurd, but she's fine because a ridiculous minority can beat her.

It's just such a dumb flawed logic that people like you use, and there's only one factor that you mentioned yourself : Entitlement.

Because, yes indeed, survivors were the dominating role and the big guy back in 2016 and 2017. Very early stages of the game, killers got stomped left and right. But this has been not the case for several years now. But because during the early years killers got bullied and stomped and made fun of so much, this myth about survivors being OP has remained for all this time.

It just isn't true anymore for a long time. Killers have been very strong (experienced ones, anyway, because in 1vs4 games the person playing alone has always been the one to have to tryhard at first to get good, that's obvious) for a very long while now. The only thing that remains now as a powerhouse are those very sweaty tryhard meta SWF groups. And those will mostly remain the same, as always, while, also as always, solo Q gets shat on, bullied, stomped and trashed patch after patch after patch. I'm personally sick of it.

I've been a solo Q player since 2016. Occasionally I have been in SWF and mostly a duo, but 70% of my time has been solo Q. Because of this I'm probably a lot better than your average SWF player because I have been forced to carry randoms who are clueless for years. I enjoy killers that take skill and are fair to go against (My favourite killer to fight is Huntress, I love playing against her, because I feel like it's fair) when, having an equal chance at it, if I'm better I can come on top, and if I'm worse I will go down anyway. Nurse completely negates all of it. I'm good against Nurses, and can back it up ( unlike most people trash talking on this forum, trying to lecture others about how to get good against Nurses, when they probably can't last 20 seconds against a God tier one ) but if the Nurse is very experienced, and this is not hard to achieve, she negates most of the things you can do, and she's basically playing against herself : If she makes no mistakes, she wins, and your input doesn't matter. Even maps that are "bad" for her (the game) aren't a problem for the really sweaty tryhard Nurses. She's basically cheat mode once you know how to play her.

The only people who defend her are people who want to stomp everyone all the time not through skill, but through overpowered mechanics that allow you to negate every counterplay other than just coordinated gen rushing and doing all gens in 3 minutes through a well prepared SWF squad.

    Exactly.

Especially the last paragraph. It is too bad those players have been allowed to succeed for so long due to nurse's mechanics.

Because what you say is nonsense and largely depends on personal opinion, that's all it is, you do not provide facts, you only provide your 'opinion' so kindly keep your ego in check. If you want to get lots of upvotes go make a thread crying about Nurse I'm sure you will find many like-minded people who want to mindlessly complain over and over without adding anything of importance.

This whole thing was about actually adding valuable information and intuitive information that actually makes sense, but you are demeaning and spouting rhetoric that the people you are combating have no real value to the conversation. When in reality you are the problem not them and honestly you not seeing this is just silly if you actually added valuable additions maybe you as well would get the personal gratification that you desire lol.

What facts or useful information have they shown? I'm really curious.

Nurse kill rate 49 percent? Irrelevant. It has been explained why many times.

Extremely condescendingly saying no one wants to learn how to play against Nurse, and then giving information on how to face her which everyone in this discussion already knows?

Some random casual tournament with random players where nurse has 2.1 kill rate or whatever it was? I checked out some of the players from that tournament setup. Lol..

You are in many of these threads defending nurse. Maybe you should consider your bias.

I haven't seen a single piece of useful or good information relating to this topic by the players defending nurse, except for teaching noobies how to go against Nurse. But..they are not the ones claiming Nurse is OP in the first place.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

And you're in all of those threads too. Weird huh?

As if thered be a list of all recently updated threads with their names displayed for everyone to see. I guess if you'd be invested in certain discussions some of those threads are kinda calling you out, huh?

Pot, kettle. Except the pot has good arguments except nurse bad.

Not sure what you're trying to say at the end there. You might want to edit that.

Not quite sure what you are saying at all, actually. How have I been "called out". I've provided gameplay footage which these nurse mains begged me to show. Now they refuse to do the same, even when provided with proof that players who know exactly how to play as and against nurse still think she is OP.

I've been consistent in how I feel the direction of game balance should be.

The ones who need to be called out are these nurse players who repeatedly lie and claim no one wants to learn how to face nurse. The game has been out for years. Everyone at a decently high MMR knows how to face a nurse.

Is that one of their "good arguments"?

Or how her kill rate isn't even 50 percent so she is actually not that strong?

    Yes, another good argument. /s

If you can't recognize how good a player is, what makes you think you can speak on game balance...

Please don't parrot the other nurse main without even watching the "2 year old video... (?)" It was a 5 gen 4k, only missed blinks due to survivor exhaustion perks.

I've shown my gameplay. If you want to lie about it to make yourself feel better, go ahead. I suggest you watch some more of it, though. You might learn how to turn your camera correctly.

The twitch ...Where you tell people to go find the evidence themselves.....The twitch where I seen you play 0 nurses, and mostly baby killers....That twitch ? Miss me with this

I've already done that. I've pointed to a game where I played as Nurse, and one where I went against nurse. Should I do it in every thread? No. What a waste of time.

If you want to dig through my comments and look for them, go ahead.

But if you can't even recognize whether a player is solo queue or in a SWF, it doesn't really matter if I link it again.

Yes, the OP killer with a negative kill rate. Could've fooled me.

Also, they don't need to be buffed to Nurse's level. Even just re-balancing the game and buffing them would be able to bring most killers to an A-A+ level, which is sufficient. Also, you still have this weird assumption that SWF and Nurse are OP. They're only better-performing in comparison because the game is currently juggling balance between solo and SWF. If survivor's side is merged into being just SWF by buffing their information, it allows for balancing around that instead of both solo and SWF. Weaker killers struggle against very good SWFs. Solo survivors struggle against very good S-tiers. Thus, make all survivors SWF, and buff weaker killers. Simple.

Bringing up kill rate in regards to nurse shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

There, I summarized your garbage response for you. Also, nobody twisted your words, maybe you should reread before victimizing yourself. I never said that you said good players ONLY exist on Korean servers. Nurse is not OP, she has strong addons. This is very basic and easy to comprehend for 'experienced' players. I'm not reading anything else you write

No, it was just nonsensical rambling.

Nurse player says nurse is fine. Okay. Gotcha, bud.

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3063394#Comment_3063394

Neither is broken though. Solo information should be buffed so every single survivor becomes "SWF" information level-wise, and rebalance around all survivors being SWF, instead of juggling solo vs SWF balance. SWF doesn't mean good teamwork, just that they can share information.

    No restriction tournament: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/297338/statistical-evaluation-of-an-interesting-tournament/

This is just one, there are others, but this was one that blew up in big attention because it proved play at highest levels is even when both sides go all out. If you're curious about tournaments, Dead by eSports Discord organizes a bunch.

Maybe you didn't even read what you linked. The person who made that post about the "tournament" also said nurse is OP. So...ok.

The "buff solos to SWF and low tier killers to nurse level" is a terrible, terrible idea, I don't know why it gains any traction here. A game where each side is OP is not fun.

    @AJStyIez said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3062584#Comment_3062584

Based off all of your prior comments it seems like you're just projecting and exposing yourself as somebody that also falls in that category. I don't see you doing much except being a hypocrite on this topic. You talk about how people want to keep their side more powerful but your only talking point is "She's OP because we said she is. You're lying about people not knowing how to play against her. Korean Servers. Its mostly good players that are complaining. Korean Servers."

Why don't you link some gameplay? I have linkable Survivor gameplay to dig up in the vault against good Nurses and I'm sure others do too. Nothing about Nurse's basekit is OP, she just has a handful of oppressive addons and why do you think those are even popular in the first place? Maybe its because 95% of the other ones suck and provide no value so there's no real incentive for the best players not to use them. They're literal memes that gimp you in exchange for more bloodpoints or just don't have a useful side effect in this version of the game. All they need to do is give a complete addon rework and she's good to go. They could even consider her hits as an M2 and she'd still be fine

Pallets and flashlights still work against her, breaking LoS is common knowledge at this point and still extremely viable, mindgaming a mindgame works all the time as no player in the world is going to land 100% of their blinks in every match, playing stealthy works against her too

People will tell a Killer to 'get better' or 'stop whining' about Survivors that go out of their way to stealth more than they take chases but now the same people are upset that there's still a character that makes it a bad idea for them to constantly do the opposite. Stop treating Nurse like the weaker Killers on the roster and I guarantee you will die less regardless of if she's good or not. Part of being at the skill ceiling as Survivor is knowing that you can't just play aggressive 100% of the time and loop/gen-jockey your way out of every scenario. This is yet again a prime example of how people are upset that a Killer has a kit that dissuades people from mindlessly playing aggressive or trying to force a chase at their leisure

There's a huge difference between 'This Killer is overpowered because its physically impossible to win against her' and 'This Killer is strong because she doesn't allow Survivors to play the same style that they enjoy the most'. Its not impossible to win against her even with her strongest addons but even if they do get changed (which they should) how is her basekit OP? Hint: It's not. Link your gameplay where you make all the correct decisions for an entire match and still died to a good Nurse. You won't because there's always multiple choices in a game that could've been better and this goes for both Killers and Survivors

I have linked my twitch account multiple times here. It is always greeted the same way. The nurse players realize I am much more experienced than them and suddenly change the topic. The only time I have seen nurse gameplay from one of the nurse main defenders it was a disaster, a player who could barely move their camera to look behind them, and yet they still want to give much more experienced players advice on how to play well.

I never ever said that only good players play on the Korean server. Why must you twist my words to feel like you are making a point? Doesn't that mean your reasoning is super weak..?

The last three paragraphs are all nonsense, so I won't speak to them, but you seem to have read my prior comments. When have I ever said her basekit, the way she blinks should be nerfed?

    I believe that:

Map addons need to be disabled for both sides. Too often map offerings are used by both sides to tilt the game way in their favor.

Many maps need to be shrunk

Blight's several busted addons need a rework

Nurse's busted addons need a huge nerf. Her attacks should not trigger perks. If this is not enough of a nerf, after some testing, she shouldn't have her power at the very start of a match, like dredge. Maybe give her 4.4 speed in that time.

SWF should be shown as a group in the lobby for the killer

Healthy grabs on unhooks should be removed from the game. This only promotes skilless face camping

While still keeping their randomness, all maps need to have their resources better situated. Sometimes the same map can be super killer sided, sometimes super survivor sided, just based on how things spawn and connect to each other.

Survivor perks should not be stackable.

The only one of my ideas that gets any backlash is the nurse one. The only possible reasoning is that these nurse mains don’t want to lose their busted toy. Too many of you don't realize how horrid playing as solo queue and a low tier killer on a strong survivor map is.

I have been consistent in always saying the same opinions as above.

    See: No True Scotsman fallacy

"A good Nurse can't be outplayed"

"But a survivor can do X to make her miss in this situation"

"But a high MMR Nurse on my server will make that blink 100% of the time"

Just putting words in my mouth and misrepresenting what I said. And that gets several upvotes. These nurse mains will even upvote nonsense lol.

The Nurse players are telling you to use different resources and that conventional resources aren't useful in the same way. That's what is puzzling about the debate. Players have tools, you're just choosing not to use them. You learned how to use X resources against M1 killers. Why can't you learn to use Y resources against Nurse?

You are not special. You are playing a killer that has been out for years. You are not enlightening people on some secret methods for how to go against Nurse.

    Everyone already knows.

It's so amazingly dishonest to say that people just don't want to learn how to face nurse. Of all the lies you nurse mains tell to keep your OP toy, this one is the most frustrating.

Why even lie? It doesn't make sense. Just admit that nurse is way overtuned, or be quiet. Anything else is just making yourself look foolish...

    "Let’s have an actual discussion"

No one has posted any conclusive amount of gameplay evidence that indicates she overperforms (in general/with Exposed perks/whatever) consistently against players of equal skill on an even-sided map.

And before someone tries to do a "gotcha", yes, range/3 blink add-ons are busted and need a rework, as do big maps being made smaller and so on. Basekit and recharge add-ons are a non-issue because recharge add-ons do not affect basekit mindgaming of the actual blinks like range or 3 blinks do.

In the cases where very good players play against other very good players, the difficulty/match up is roughly even. Which there is ample proof of, both in and out of tournament settings. In tournament settings (which the VODs for can be found on Twitch/YouTube), Nurse averages to 2K on even maps, 1.92K if all restrictions are removed. Out of tournament settings where good players getting even matches is uncommon, in said even matches, it still comes out to any wins being through immense difficulty, because both are as good as the other.

SupaAlf (a semi-frequent competitive player that uses very strong builds on Nurse in pubs) has gotten (at last check) 200 wins in a row. Which is unsurprising. Incredibly good player + incredibly good builds + incredibly good character versus average pub lobbies. That said, just like his video from MMR test day 3 (a day when a test for even skill matches were prioritized over queue time), he’s had multiple incredibly tough games even with all three of the factors above (personal skill, build, character), and many he’s nearly lost and won only through the skin of his teeth.

Before anyone loses their mind over it being a 200-game streak, keep in mind, this is not Alf or Nurse exclusive. People have done win streaks on every killer in the game and solo/SWF escape streaks. Even in complete solo, good survivors have gotten several dozen escapes in a row. Hens with a 3-man iirc(?) and comp-style callouts are at 69 wins (3-4 man out) in a row at last check around a month ago. If you made someone like Team Agony play SWF all out with super strong builds, they would obliterate almost every lobby ever. This is the result of the player(s) just being outright better than what MMR can match them against usually.

Only the most broken parts of both sides can compete against each other. Yeah...we know.

Everyone can already admit that SWF is super broken. The reason there are so many of these discussions is the nurse players can't admit their toy is broken, same as SWF.

By the way, i've never seen a single tournament that has absolutely no restrictions. Many restrict the killer from camping and/or tally point by hooks and/or restrict their addons/perks.

No tournament that takes itself seriously has ever gone with no restrictions...so...gonna need some proof there.

I've kept track of several tournaments from Asia. Never heard of a no restrictions tournament.

Let's face the truth, nurse is the only way to get highest mmr (aside from blight), don't you think that maybe buff other killers so they can get the same results as a nurse would do, rather than killing the killer to their spot?

If so, be prepared to face ONLY blights on high mmr, just saying. (If someone cares actually)

At high mmr Blight and Nurse are already basically the only killers seen..

But plenty of players hang at mmr without needing to resort to those killers. Playing those killers just makes it much easier to win there.

  • This map should only spawn if all five players burn the RPD offering. In no other circumstance should it ever spawn.

  • @Gamall said:

Same people who used to complain a lot about the old DH are now convinced that nurse is ok. The hypocrisy of this community

They don’t care about game balance/health.

As someone with thousands of hours on each role I can say with confidence that the number of games I played as killer that I had absolutely 0 chance of winning no matter what I did is probably countable on one hand. Of course I've lost many games, due to playing badly and/or survivors playing well. That's not to say SWF isn't too strong. They are, and should be nerfed. But unless you are facing the absolutely best tournament sweat squads, which are infinitesimely rare, you can win as any killer (a lot of people on these forums don’t want to believe this) if you are good enough. Might not be a fun game, but you can win.

On the other hand, the number of absolutely unwinnable games just because the killer player chose nurse? A lot. Sure, some of that is the nature of solo queue, bad teammates, etc. But I've never felt that way against any other killer (except busted addon sweaty Blight). With every single other killer, even if the whole team dies at the end, you can look at the match and think "darn, if we did something differently, or maybe if I took the first chase some of us could have escaped". Not nurse. If you escape a game against nurse the only response isn't "wow, what a great nurse!" (you'd be Dead)

Instead it is "good thing the nurse wasn't very good". That's not balanced gameplay.

When you play killer you know that if you face survivors who are equally skilled, if you are willing to play super sweaty you can win. There is no hope the other way around.

So, as I said. They don’t care about balance. Most of these nurse mains admit to only really playing SWF when they play survivor, so all they really do is play the most broken parts of DBD.

  • Some people want a balanced game for both sides. Sadly too many people would rather keep the roles they only play (nurse, SWF) as much more powerful than everything else.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't think her base kit or recharge add ons need to be nerfed.

Most of her "accepted" counterplay that gets passed around is pretty bad advice against an experienced Nurse because the pathing against Nurse is a bit more nuanced and requires some different routing. Players often say "double back or hold W", and give up when that doesn't work. And that doesn't work because there's quite a bit more to take into account against even a moderately experienced Nurse that it can't be broken down to a binary thing at a corner.

She has two blinks. Breaking LOS is good, but again, she has two blinks. You need to break LOS for both blinks. It is exceedingly rare that players even attempt this. And I know players know that she can blink to a corner and gain LOS again, so why are we not anticipating that and looking for a secondary LOS break before that? Even throwing out my own personal experience playing as and against Nurse, I have a hard time accepting that she needs a nerf when players aren't even attempting solid counterplay when they know full well how she works.

It's not enough to just go around a corner and then double back or keep going. You're making it as easy as it could possibly be for the Nurse player. Primary LOS block>Secondary LOS block>turn your camera to see the Nurse>adjust your pathing to make her miss on her chain blink. Side to side movement+distance is best on her 2nd blink. She has a limited amount of time to charge and release it, which means she has to commit to a direction at some point. Dodge her second blink like you would a Huntress hatchet out in the open. It's the same concept.

The entire map is viable. Your entire goal is to break LOS and create space which forces inaccuracy. If she's blinking blind on her second blink and you sidestepped away from the tile to the map wall instead of doubling back/holding W, she'll have to win the lottery to guess right and hit her lunge. Forget the optimal pathing of any given tile. You're using it for LOS. Nothing more.

Pallets are viable, but it takes practice. They're not used conventionally. They're mindgames. They're used for setting distance and forcing the Nurse to commit to landing spots of your choosing. If you stand in front of a pallet as she charges her blink, she needs to A: blink to you or B: overblink it. If she blinks to you, you cross the pallet and wait to see if she charges her second blink or not. If she does, reverse and drop it. Chances are she'll eat her blink. It's a game of chicken.

Don't commit yourself to animation locks unless you're proc'ing Balanced Landing. Windows will not help you. Stop trying to vault them in a chase against Nurse. If you really want to interact with a window in some way, run towards it and stop to try and bait her into overblinking. If she overblinks through the window, this is your chance to fake her out on her second blink by running one way and quickly cutting back the other way while she looks through the window. You really have to sell the fake though. But don't vault it. Stop it.

It's all a long way of saying that she has a deep and nuanced set of chase mechanics, and I'd hate to see her get nerfed and turned it to another bog standard hold M2 to zone for free killer. We already have enough bland killers as it is. Nurse is the most fun killer in the game to face IMO once you understand her chase mechanics and get comfortable facing her.

Who are you even directing this comment to? Is it players who aren't very good at facing nurse? Okay. Good advice. Truly.

Is it players who actually know why nurse should be nerfed? Then it is a rather useless comment. Every experienced survivor knows all of this already. We have played this game for many, many years at this point. And yet we still say nurse is OP.

You are just lying when you say players don't know how to face nurse. All of what you said above is standard play against a Nurse on the Korean server. The top streamer on the Korean server has discussed all of these points multiple times. It's not new information. Top players have known all of this for a long time.

Yes, the players who face baby nurses don't know how to face nurse. They aren't the ones complaining about nurse. This comment may be good for them to read so they can get better and start facing some real nurses. The ones complaining about nurse are the skilled solo queue players like me.

Nurse can be the most fun killer to face. You are right about that. When the nurse is less skilled than the survivor.

Recharge addons: after this new patch the Recharge addons will definitely need to be looked at too.

I play killer and i pretty much haven't touched nurse at all even dailys i tend to skip nurse ones but i think she is fine, survivors just need to learn how to counter her yes you will get god tier nurse mains i think Superalf is one off the people that really know how to play nurse on a god tier lvl.

Survivors really need to stop complaining about every small little thing be it a new killer they don't know how to loop, heal teammate they just unhooked under the hook and then wonder why killers come back and put that same person on the hook again, a lot off complaints survivors make are just them making mistakes and trying to pass the blame on, when i play survivor i make mistakes even though i have played the killer im facing a lot i still mess up.

The killer is meant to be the power role of the game and yet survivors are what makes it worse is some killers survivors can take away there power by bringing a item in i.e hag.

    Yikes. No. Read above.

  • Unfortunately the only people who defend nurse in her current state are nurse mains who want to keep their OP toy, and people at a lower MMR who don't go up against a nurse who can use her kit effectively.

The former group would defend nurse even if she could insta-down on a single hit. The latter group hasn't met the kind of nurse who breaks the game. Can't reason with the first group.

  • @The_C12H15NO2 said:

I couldn't agree more with your post. Nurse does have counter play, even with no DH. Players who complain about her or call her broken just don't want to learn how to play against her.

Face a good nurse first, please.

  • Never. Devs don't balance for strength. They balance for numbers. Nurse - lowest kill rate? Better give a buff. Oh wait. Already did when they buffed her purple range addon, the already-best addon in the game.

Animation bug when she uses these busted addons, that doesn't show when nurse actually attacks? Better pretend it isn't a bug. Oh wait. They actually did that in a thread a few weeks ago when they literally said they hadn't received reports of this bug despite me and several other people in the thread having already made reports.

Devs don't care. Just be happy the perk that blocks the gen if you move away after a hook (don't remember the name in English) got nerfed.

Yea. Of course she's stronger then them. I was just trying to draw the comparison between them. Since they have strong, strong chase powers. But are typically weak as a whole. Due to mostly map sizes and how long it takes to traverse. I only defend range currently because of the map sizes. If they were reduced. I'd be saying nerf range 100 %. But right now. I don't want to see her go the way of getting her add ons hammered to the ground, and her being average at best. Just due to map sizes alone. That's not to mention some people asking for her blinks to count as special attacks so you can't instant down. I DO think that change would be healthy. But I don't think people realize just how big of a nerf that would be to nurse. If people got ALL of the changes they wanted. Not only do you rob her range and recharge. She now can't insta down. That's a bigger impact then people seem to think

Nurse has her own set of counters and restrictions. They're just not the typical pallets and windows. That's all. It's good, healthy, and important to have killers who have to be dealt with in different ways. Not just pre drop and windows.

And yet even if she lost her broken range addons and instadowns she still wouldn't be close to mid tier. Blight would be the new best killer, and nurse would be next.

As for the last point, there are so many killers that have to be dealt with differently. Nurse is not special in that regard. She is only special in that once she reaches a certain skill level (don't worry, you'll get there someday..maybe) she trounces people of equal skill. Only the absolute top comp SWF, which you have never faced, have a chance.

  • @Mandy said:

With the new reduction in grind when it comes to gaining new perks, the Bloodpoint economy had to be tweaked with regards to where and when they should be spent. While players now need to spend Bloodpoints to prestige, ultimately the grind is still heavily reduced and results in an overall improvement to the entire system.

Maybe when there were 5 killers and survivors that would make sense, but there are more than 20 of both. The grind is ridiculous. This is coming from someone with 6k hours in the game. To both new players and old players this grind reduction doesn't seem like much of anything, even after the July update.

I think people overestimate the skill needed to play Nurse. For DBD, yes she requires quite a bit of skill, but that's only really because most killers are very easy to play. DBD is clunky and has never been very precise. To hit those 100% requires nowhere near the precision and prediction needed with the top characters in many other games. I recommend watching gameplay of high end Jets from Valorant. In my mind, that is what the skill should be required in order to justify being so oppressive. The fact is if you can't reach a point where you are hitting the overwhelming majority of your hits as Nurse despite playing for a dedicated amount of time.. are you really that good? Also you don't need to hit 100% of your blinks. You need hit 50%. One chain blink to position yourself 2nd to hit. Anything more then that, you have done something wrong and its your error, not the survivor skill.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3057603#Comment_3057603

    That's... interesting counterplay.

So your understanding of counterplay, is an action that only may guarantee you success, based off the assumption, that the person doing the initial action, was doing it incorrectly to begin with. I do not agree. I don't know what more to say. That does not sound like good design. At that point, players are just training bots for you to improve.

What is with this assumption that for a nurse to hit ever single blink, requires tournament level to achieve this. Nurse does not require anywhere near the level of precision of some games. Assuming you play nurse fairly regularly and you not hitting the majority of the hits, how can you call yourself good enough to make a judgement call on how strong she is? You have the assumption that people are bad with her.. but they are not. Most people can land at least 50% of their blinks, which is not hard and even easier when in a chase, its extremely rare to not be within her attack range. If you can hit 50%, you will win any match. The only exception is when the generators are rushed. Which I stated was the only legitimate coutnerplay.

I mean.. would you hold that position for anything else? Gen speeds can go in 5 minutes. Well that's only tournament level.

They don’t understand what Counterplay means.

They think that because both roles are controlled by people and not bots that means it is 50/50 and if you lose you just aren't as good as the other side. It's infuriating, because they use it to say "nurses are controlled by people, and people can make mistakes, so nurse can't be overpowered."

It's so embarrassingly wrong, but hey, that's how they defend their OP toy.

  • "no she wasn't bad"

    Narrator: "she was bad"

  • They don’t balance based on what is too powerful, they balance based on what is used the most. It's truly baffling.

The pallet loop system was an argument before anti loop killers started releasing like hotcakes. Besides Nurse was the forth killer release. Not like pallet looping was much of a thing back then. Infinites were. Looping became popular once infinites started being removed. Then it was double pallet loop.

But I guess Nurse was the reason they removed those right?

The whole, she is holding back perks and other killers is unfounded and directly stated by the Devs not to be the case. The fact Starstruct exists should be enough to disprove this. Another being Ruin as it wasn't because of Nurse that Ruin got trashed.

It took the devs years to nerf keys and moris. That alone proves they don’t know how certain things affect the balance in this game.

Solo queue, low tier killers, SWF, and then nurse/Blight. All at such different power levels, and very little being done to truly fix it. Taking the devs at their word, if they ever even said that nurse isn't a bottleneck (which she very obviously is), is quite naive.

Ok.....So comp is a joke. But you're using it as some kind of barometer for skill to prove a point of some sort. With your participation in comp tournies. With practicing in KYF with comp players.

We just want to see you doing everything you can against these comp nurses. Or your comp nurse play. We want to see that no matter what you did and tried. These nurses are unbeatable. That's all

The comp gameplay itself is mindless and dull. If you are not already a skilled player, however, you won't be invited to play. This is common sense, no? There is a reason DBD does not have a respected comp scene. And that is why.

Alright. Well ignore that I broke LOS as much as possible. Read how long her blink was going to be and doubled back. Well ignore me knowing the timing at shack. Well ignore the part where I read the prediction blink inside the house and broke back outside immediately after breaking LOS. The nurse was bad, sure

I'll ask again. Where is your comp footage ? Where is your KYF practice with comp ? Any comp player I personally know has footage so they can watch back and try to learn from it. Where is yours ? You keep saying the Korean server is known for amazing players...Yet I watched one stream. I seen nothing but baby killers, and you getting mediocre survivors ? 🤷

Must be hard to judge the gameplay of others from a gamepad. Are you using a controller or not...?

Are you joking? Comp DBD is an absolute joke. I only did it because I was asked to. Both sides have to be handicapped, the only way the killer (not nurse and Blight) can win is getting a fast first hook and getting a good first hook spawn. That's it. It's so boring. I didn't have interest in it while I was doing it. I don't now. I'm sure the footage is somewhere but yeah I have no idea where.

(And my valorous opponent here was right of course, trying to pressure the gens works against Nurse as against any other killer. It could have worked.)

I trust I've made my point.

And I have several videos on YouTube of myself doing a challenge of waiting 2, 3 and 4 minutes AFK at the start of the match and still getting the 4k.

    What's your point?

Probably around 90 percent of nurses at high MMR use the same perks/addons that make the match even easier for her.

And since you're sure to bring it up, I looked for the last game I played against a nurse. Didn't bother to cherry pick a super carry game. It is in my second to last stream. 20 minutes in on the swamp map. A bit clunky first chase, but more than enough to show how to play. Please. Learn.

LOL. Whatever you say my guy. That's what you took from the video ? Not a nurse getting juiced for about 2 minutes straight ? Not being able to get a down until I'm the one who ######### up...? At this point you're just trolling about even hating nurse. But go on about your day. Knowing that someone who "can barely do the basics" Can juice a nurse. Apparently better then you can. You should probably work on that. We're done here if that's your only argument. Commenting on how I like to move in game.

You say nurse is OP, but provide no evidence. We ask for evidence of you facing these supposedly comp nurses, but you say find it yourself. We get a look at your survivor gameplay, and it's against total baby killers. We're done here.

You did a single good juke. At the tree. At around 4:45. One single decent juke. One single good play. Against a nurse. And you honestly think it was you running the nurse and not the nurse just...not being good? At several parts of the video I was left wondering how the nurse lost sight of you when you didn't run behind anything, you kept on a straight path with no coverage. Maybe the nurse was using a controller to move the camera too..

    Sorry, but yeah, we're done...

Yes, my 6k hours on stream and comp tournies and practice KYF with other comp players are all against bad players. Nevermind that the Korean server is known for its top killer players.

Exactly lol. I scrolled through a single video. All it was. Was steam rolls of baby killers with like 3-4 hooks at the EGC. It's no wonder they want nurse nerfed. Their killer gameplay was uninspiring as well, sadly. But hey they have 8k followers. So they're do pretty well I assume. So that's great for them. Despite condescending disagreements. I always like seeing people succeed. You would think that they would point to the exact videos and times. If they truly wanted to make a point

As least if I make an argument about something. I back it up.

    https://youtu.be/W1fWZXslTlE

I made another post where I pointed out all my errors and what I could of did. But I'm not a perfect survivor. I died at the end, because I took my eyes off her when she was doing a prediction blink. But I still ran her just fine. My team mates still went down pretty quickly. The difference ? Experience and knowing how to make a nurse work. I wish I recorded a match last night. I made another nurse look so bad last night after they demolished my team mates. They just let me go lol.

Hell. Even my own nurse gameplay speaks for itself, and I'm maybe above average with her. That is on my own twitch for people to see tbh.

Why does it look like you have such a hard time moving your mouse and looking backwards? Are you playing with a controller on PC? I'm not even trying to joke..that's exactly what it looks like. I would work on the most basic parts of character movement, first. Obligatory "even a decent nurse would destroy you..."

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3054954#Comment_3054954

Just to start, I was wrong about one thing. I had checked another profile when I've checked yours and I've mixed the Nurse numbers: you have 3957 registered blink attacks, not ~6k like I believed. Not that there is a lot of difference. (I had checked another profile that day and I've mixed the numbers).

That game from a year ago was way less on the expected skill scale. Overblinks, barely any game sense ... I couldn't bear to watch. I would be in bad faith if I didn't give you the opportunity to show what you really can do. If you don't want to after such display, Occam's razor tells me you cannot.

And no, you have shown nothing. Pointing to a haystack and telling there is one or two sticks of slightly different sticks of hay to find there is obfuscation, a pretty common tactic when claims wouldn't stand scrutiny.

You are the one telling you are so good by the way, nobody here is telling they are better than the others, only they don't struggle or they enjoy it.

Showing your Nurse plays would be proving a positive (possible and reasonable, and the plays would be easy to analyze against all but the most inept survivors). Asking to prove a negative will never work though. The bad-faith counter will always be that the versed Nurse wasn't good enough. (This is why asking you to show how you versed her was only an after though, and only because you claimed, once again, you were better than everybody else.)

Do you realize how transparent your evasion is?

    edit: fixed a grammatical ambiguity

LOL. Oh my god. Found the video you're talking about. So you're just lying on the forums to save face. That is...sad. 5 generators left, 4k with nurse without using her undeniably broken purple range addon. Only missed blinks were due to survivors using their exhaustion perks. I'll use a bit more game sense next time and make it a 6 generator 4k, just for you. Not even my cleanest nurse game I can remember, but undoubtedly leagues better than you. Ready to show your gameplay?

I'm honestly disappointed. I doubt anyone will bother clicking to watch the video. I certainly wouldn't bother. But they absolutely should. This guy just blatantly lied.

Just nurse things, I guess. Shouldn't be surprised when that‘s how they try to convince the devs not to nerf nurse.

Oh gods. I was puzzled by the comment of @BrokenSouI about the baby killers you versed. I've finally gone to check your twitch channel.

You cannot seriously expect someone to watch even a single 3 hours video to find footage without pointing to it directly with a timestamp. I wouldn't do that for Otz, Tru3, CocunutRTS nor even pretty Rayoxium.

However, among the Huntresses and Bubbas, I've found one short video of the Nurse, from 2021/03/04 (nothing easy to find earlier). I certainly hope it was your first game with her.

Feel free to point to a few videos, with timestamp, where you play her "better than everyone defending her on these forums". (I'll watch, promise). Videos where you verse her would be nice too.

I can't be bothered to do that. I've offered up my profile to show that I play at a very high level, which is simply true.

I've offered this up which is much more than any of the people defending nurse are willing to do. Maybe if any of these nurse players showed any of their game footage that would help a lot. We could see where they are struggling, and maybe even help them.

Like I said, I have about 6k hours in the game, the vast majority of which is streamed. I don't care enough to go through my footage and timestamp things, but it is there for anyone to see. If you want to be proven wrong in how you view nurse, then you are more than welcome to find it yourself. If not, that's fine too.

I assume the video you are talking about is in highlights? Yeah.. I don't highlight nurse videos. It is embarassing playing a character so much stronger than the other team.

Yea. Wasn't blown away by anything. Just by the amount of babu killers you got. Nor do I see nurse gameplay against "comp gamers" Show us that. Then we'll talk

    LOL!

Plenty in there. You don't want to search? That's fine with me.

Still waiting on any footage from any of the regular nurse defenders in this thread.

If you say so my guy. My killer gameplay is on tape. My survivor gameplay is on tape. Where's YOUR gameplay of facing nurse or even playing nurse.....? If you were a "top player" You wouldn't be having issues with nurse. Maybe come down off your high horse. Your opinion is way too high of yourself.

Yeah... I've never seen gameplay from any of the nurse mains in here, but I gladly offer it whenever asked.

    Twitch: Omansonion

I never delete any videos, my youtube is attached. You can see every video you want. So you go watch it. Or don't, I don't mind much, and then try telling me to get good again... Lol

It's almost like if people actually see how these nurse players are playing everyone else will realize they really shouldn't be talking on the subject. Otherwise why do they never offer up footage of themselves playing, while still asking other players to show how they play?
