Cryptocurrency does not damage the environment by default nor do NFTs. Mining operations that use renewable energies are clean. Its like saying sex is bad because you can get AIDs! When you can clearly use a condom. You don't blame sex for the lack of condoms. You push instead for making condoms. I don't like NFTs but it is so stupid that people don't understand that the problem isn't "bad for the environment!". The problem is that we can't produce enough semi-conductors because only certain manufacturing plants can make them and that we don't push hard enough for renewables. Add on the logistic problems that existed before COVID which was an inevitable timebomb and after COVID because that was just further strain. IDK why people think the financial sector doesn't leave a huge carbon footprint anyways; one that far exceeds all of crypto.

Yknow maybe we shouldn't have bp codes anymore with how some people act about them...
Or they could just fix the grind by fixing perk bloat by merging a lot of the useless perks into ones they fit with so they are actually viable?
Or... Make BBQ and WGLF stacks base kit.
Or... Add more rituals.
Then people wouldn't need them?

The worst thing is that everybody said "the key rework will take time, it's not a simple number change" when people questioned why weren't keys nerfed alongside Moris. A year passed and how they finally nerf it? Simple number change.
Too true and in the end this didn't even solve some of the issues with keys. 2.5s? Just hide from the killer for a little and its an easy key out.

Probably because 4 people getting out cause of one item was ridiculous.
Four people getting out required all the gens being done which more often than not means the game was gonna end in 4 escapes or 3 anyways. FOUR people getting out with a key is incredibly rare. Key present and all gens done? The common result is going out the door.
3 survivors 1 gen and you would have a leg to stand on. That is the situation people typically complained about, rightfully so. However, some people are complete morons though and will try to tunnel which is just going to LOWER the requirements to activate the key. So, half of the 'hurrdurr I'm gonna tunnel cus key' people are shooting themselves in the face and netting on solo queue randomness. In other words, not even the players that are actually going to be the issue. So, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Fixing keys so they had counterplay was simple. The devs just chose to remove it as a feature basically.
There could have been:
- Sizeable cooldowns between using hatch that give the killer time to react to hatch. Ex: 20s-30s.
- Longer key anim than currently. Ex: 5s-10s. Add in a ladder anim with it. So 5s to open, 5s for ladder.
- Regular hatch anim would have a 5s anim as above.
- Change Blood Amber effect.
I'd argue that would weaken them more than the buff that BHVR did because with those times it's your own fault if the survivors get out. 90% of the moaning about keys is by people that had lost anyways or want to play scummy and whine when that results in lower requirements. Those type of changes would lead to actual counterplay in the situation coupled with a little more content.

I only used it for the extra BP but with the noise removed there's no point to run it over barbecue and chili
Or undying for that matter. It was already a worse undying that's been my complaint about it. I think Undying should've got something else and Thrill should've got the auras. That would've made sense and turn it into a more reliable perk. If straight aura reading was too unbalanced an idea I've had is that auras could increase intensity the more the survivor lingers instead.

When a scam is so obvious why is there a need to discredit it? The IRS doesn’t do ######### about all the fake IRS scams people get hit every day.
They do... The problem is its never-ending because the people doing it are outside the US, spoofing numbers. It don't mean they don't try. Its incredibly misleading. There have been numerous PSA about scam calling from news coverage to being plastered on official websites. I mean are you expecting them to send you a letter? Personally inform you everytime? By that logic, should BHVR be sending me a letter every patch update? And are we seriously comparing a issue that's rarely encountered to one that is encountered so much that the problem is that they can't possibly do anything about it because its outside the US? One issue would require uncountable man hours to personally reach out to everyone dealing with it on a daily basis and still get nowhere. The other takes seconds and is seldom encountered. The majority of people selling or giving keys are:
1) Second hand gift card vendors, self explanatory grey market.
2) Streamers giving out gifts and aren't claiming to be endorsed by BHVR for doing so. Its just a giveaway.

You two are playing oblivious. He's referring to how since the cultural shift in the late 00's where people started getting easily offended by just about everything and incapable of taking criticism. Then came cancel culture/witch hunts when that blew out of proportion because social media made that incredibly easy to do. The effect on gaming other than people throwing hissy fits all the time is that it limits what game devs can do when it comes to being creative w/ their content. Add on resources having to be directed to cater to feelings and safe spaces. It's not a nostalgia trip to say that games in the '90s and '00's pushed boundaries esp. when it came to horror games. The stories and concepts of many were incredibly dark, gruesome and morally gray. Hell, even a mainstream game like GTA now could have easily died in its infancy if this happened back then if things were as they are now. Luckily the lack of social media made the people trying to cancel everything only capable of limited damage.

Half of their questions about SBMM are 'Do you even know what SBMM is?'. Clearly hinting that they just assume people keep referencing grades because they don't know what they do. The reason people keep referencing grades is because it gauges how active you are and if you're pipping a lot them clearly you're doing something right at some point, being carried or just playing so much that you eventually rise. People reference grades for the same reason people reference worn out clothes on homeless people being a sign you're homeless. It doesn't mean you're homeless but chances are if you're wearing dirty clothes that haven't been washed in ages that're ripped and tattered... You're probably homeless.

Idk what is true and what isn't but I will say this: Saying NFTs or crypto in general are bad for the environment is ######### stupid when you compare their impact to just about every other industry on the planet and the fact that the hardware used is being done on a smaller scale by regular consumers anyways. Every gamer is bad for the environment by that logic and should be stopped. The hardware is power intensive and the gear being used to create NFTs is the same ######### on a bigger scale. The "environmental impact" is coming from electricity usage which isn't a problem with the industry. There is a thing called renewable energy and mining operations that rely on that, are clean. They are not impacting anything environmental whatsoever in that regard. Whereas one that is not in an area that relies on renewable energy sources is going to leave a carbon footprint... Just like everyone and everything else in the area. What NFT's should be criticized for is being yet another contributor for semiconductor shortages since places that can manufacture them are very limited. Combine with a pandemic and logistic issues that were already a time bomb then you got shortages impacting numerous industries and that's not even considering the consumer market.
tl;dr: If you're gonna hate NFT's at least do it for the right reason. Being yet another strain on production. Not "burning down the Amazon".

I don't think WGLF is in a bad state, but I do understand where you are coming from about it feeling "inferior" to BBQ & Chili. As Killer, hooking different Survivors across the trial will happen organically (lest you are camping or tunnelling), whereas Survivor, you will kind of have to compete with your teammates for the saves... whether hook rescues, pallet/flashlight saves or protection hits.
If anything, I agree with the idea that a way to make it better would be if a token is added for each full health state you heal a teammate.
It'd be better to just buff both BBQ and WGLF as perks and make the stacks base kit features.

You know, you're right- they weren't comparable. At least with old Moris you had to mori each Survivor individually hunting them down, meanwhile 1 Key could allow all four Survivors escape with no consequences. Hatch could also spawn earlier if Survivors died, while Moris required a hook and down of each Survivor.
I'm pretty sure four survivors escaping out a hatch requires all the gens being done, meaning the game is near its conclusion. Three survivors 1 gen you would have a leg to stand on because that typically occurred in 3 gen situations where the game wasn't over. Old mori on the other hand is early game, instantly tunnel someone off the hook. The two aren't comparable in terms of what you have to do. Finishing 5 gens is harder than catching a person once and tunneling them off the hook.
And how to balance keys was fairly simple:
- New & longer, 5-10s. Even the new one is too short. All it resolved is using the hatch mid chase when the killer is in M1 range.
- Adding a cooldown between each survivor being able to go down to simulate a ladder. So the above animation would include a ladder after. 15-30s. Ample time for counterplay. Then have another animation which'll add 2.5s-5s.Potentially raise the requirement for 3 survivors to all gens done as well, unlikely to be necessary however with sizable cooldowns.
- Changing blood amber so its not a wallhack. That and wraith's add on remove all counterplay. At least scratched mirror myers has a serious draw back.
How to balance moris:
- Include gen requirements that progressively lower the requirements for using it. So at early game it'd be the current 2 hooks + down to mori. As the game progresses the requirement is lowered making it a major late game threat. So basically like what fire up should've been. That was people's complaint about moris. That it was an easy way to lopside the game at the BEGINNING.
-
DS is mostly fine.
The only issues are:
1) It does NOT deactivate on exit gates. That's the worst situation of all for it to remain active.
2) There's no point in it having a skill check anymore, that* aspect may as well be removed. It's a one time perk that'll deactivate if you interact with anything or run out unless you get chased straight after your unhook. More silly that you don't get a second chance if you fail the first if the killer does actually decide to tunnel the person twice.

Cheating is modding. The script is modifying the files. They are mods. What you can say is not all mods are malicious.

Cliche =/= uncreative
Just you try to tell a captivating story without using any cliches. It’s gonna be boring as all hell.
You can write a story without falling into cliches. It's just incredibly difficult to be purely original but you can still use or partially use a story set up while still being original. It isn't the cliche that makes the story captivating. It is the writing itself. How the writer describes the scene. You're right that the two aren't the same. What they do though is lazy writing following similar formulas. A good compass to follow though is using real stories be it your own or someone else's to act as a baseline whether it is loosely to the point where its only similarity is its message or accurately. Using some isn't bad but here is the thing: If you fall into it THAT MANY TIMES yes it is uncreative writing.
Here is a story I've thought of, not gonna do the whole dialogue and structure its just be throwing out a concept I've thought up just now:
There could be a survivor named Camilla who is a Romany gypsy, her mother and father were optimistic and cheerful despite the family living in poverty. They promised she'd reach the stars if she believed in herself and were very traditional. They moved around often so she seldom grew an attachment to people. When she did she was time and time again manipulated and burned. She developed anti social behavior and in her teenage years started to use heroin to cope with being around people. That could be metaphorically represented with a person named 'Harriet', sort of like an imaginary friend to represent the supportiveness she feels from the drug. She drew a parallel between people and the fantastical demons her mother would tell her about in her childhood years. Demons that could put on disguises and cloud their intentions for parasitic purposes.
Fast forward, she's working a dead end job at a chicken processing plant and smoking a ciggy on the porch of her trailer. She gets a texts and goes to pick up her lifelong friend. She takes a long walk through the woods. The scene is dark, decrepit and spooky. Camilla seems at ease with this however and this walk is one of the few sources of enjoyment she has given her resentment of people and society. For suspense, could include an "observer" from the shadows during the walk with most of the story in that span of time being. She reaches her dealer's house and goes through a brief exchange. She seems on edge but quickly relaxes after clutching her paws on her chunky brown friend.
She ventures back into the woods and turns to an overgrown path. She goes to the place she routinely goes to shoot heroin by a muddy pond. Despite the scene being something that most people would find unsettling, she finds a beauty in it and feels safe. She shoots up and sits alongside with her friend who comes to meet her. They talk for awhile and she feels the comforting warmth she's been seeking. The scene grows sinister progressively however, with black ooze seeping discreetly through the ground, trees, etc little by little. Camilla would be unaware at first with her focus on the lake and her "friend". The conversation between the two takes a dark turn however and her friend Harriet berates Camilla with insults about how she's a ######### up, amounted to nothing, etc. She feels a discomfort in her heart and her left arm grows heavy. The argument continues, basically the 'friend' would be a representation of her own internal insecurities/fears coming out to attack her.
Now, the scene could go one of two ways. The discomfort turns into a crushing pressure on her heart, because she's overdosing while her friend is basically mentally abusing her or a physical assault could ensue where the metaphorical friend is the one pushing her down and crushing her chest with her struggling but being too weak to fight her off. If the first route is chosen, the friend would leave after saying some incredibly hurtful ######### and she sits in the dark alone clutching her chest. She doesn't have insurance so she feels like she has to just endure and be strong in that route. She is scared but also scared of living a life with even more debt. So physically and mentally she's helpless with only her thoughts to keep her company. She thinks back to her past and relives some past memories to find some and thinks about how she had that loving support but did nothing with it. That she let her fears conquer her life. I'd prefer the first route, but either way both routes would result in the scene becoming more and more infected by the entity transforming the woods into her personification of hell.
In the end as she lays there, her heart weak and sore, her body heavy and unable to move, struggling to breathe... The entity, through that ooze and black claws holds her down and takes her. She's never seen again and no one really cares. Anyways, you could say some of that is cliche, wouldn't doubt it cause its just me throwing ideas at a wall as I go. There's no structure really and specifics but hey, that's the great thing about drafts. My basis for the sense of helplessness, despair, etc. is inspired by my own overdose induced heart attack but I took a stimulant. Also had no insurance at the time so I couldn't get help or I'd of been in serious debt. So I chose instead to lay back, holding my chest for hours knowing there was a real big chance I was going to die. I couldn't sleep out of fear and cause it was a stimulant so I was up for like 7 hours going through that. Even at that point, was still afraid to sleep and couldn't eat. I forced myself to eat broth and slept after cause I knew that if I didn't I'd 100% die pushing my body further. Heroin is a better drug for the story because it warms you/comforts you. I've been in a good few F'd up situations where I felt like my life was over but nothing truly ever felt like I 100% would die. If something else tries to kill you, there's plenty of things you can do even if its futile. When its your own body, there's no control.
Painting that fear into a scene can be done in a lot of ways. The feeling doesn't compare to usual fears. The main feelings to get across though that the scene should establish: Transitioning from something comforting her to being the source of her terror. Helplessness and despair. Self reflection, regrets, and failing to meet expectations. Add on her literally being alone in the moment and in her life as she's become estranged through that journey: a feeling of loneliness and knowing that no one is going to notice she is gone. That's one idea I've had anyways. I like writing short stories but I doubt I'll ever put that concept to paper cause the direction this game goes implies to me they're unlikely to touch real issues. You'll probably say the malicious observer bit is cliche, I included that to have the cosmic horror element present. Its a problem with a lot of game companies. I mean if you look at the Fallout series for example, they started off full of despair and opaque. Fastforward and its comical and the dialogue has gotten to the point its shallow enough to be summed up by a wheel.

well, it's not that. it's just the mindset.
I don't think anyone should be the only one to get a thing just because they came earlier, or happened to be able to go to an event (at least when it comes to digital stuff).
Funnily enough people whined about the ones that came from going to real life events but still defend legacy lmao. If anything it should be the other way around if at all.
-
I'd rather a different way: Blessing a hex totem should double the time. It doesn't make sense that you would get the hex back when what the survivor is doing is undoing what the killer had there.
-
I'd be okay with it. Great series and the outfits would fit fine.
-
It's a horror cliche. Uncreative writing.
-
I don't like them. I'd rather have portraits that look like paintings, like acrylic. These look like they were just done by someone trying out filters on GIMP.
-
I've never thought keys were that big of a problem except in specific situations but all the changes I wanted to see didn't happen. They did the lazy approach like with moris which is sad cause it took them this long to do the lazy approach.
Things I'd of liked to see instead:
- An animation that'll lock the survivor in place while they're opening the hatch. It'd look nice and would remove the whole 'I'll take a hit so the killer loses collision and key out'. Or 'I'll go find the killer to make sure they know I found the hatch and key out in their face!' lol. That'd of literally removed almost all of the whining about hatches because it'd make it so the survivors can't all just jump out without any fear at all. That could be like 5-15s in length.
- Probably not necessary but one key for one escape was brought up. I'd of been okay with that but it'd probably promote sandbaggy behavior.
- Better than the 2nd IMO but its compatible too, having a cooldown on the hatch opening being usable for X time per person. Example being 15s. Lorewise that would just be that the survivor has to climb down a ladder or something. That could be something that is put in visually as well.
- If the above weren't done, raise the requirements to make it so its just for 2 survivors 1 or 2 gens only. Usually when someone complains about keys its in the situation that there are 3 survivors and 1 gen left or 3 survivors and 2 gens left resulting in slugging.
- Nerf blood amber. While they're at it, nerf all seeing blood too. Both add ons remove mind game at loops. They should do something different instead.
There you go, balanced keys and they'd look far better.
One thing that could've been done with mori:
- Have it work like fire up or keys originally where as the game progresses the mori gets more powerful and conditions are lowered. That would then make them more viable and discourage tunneling early game hopefully. Downside: Buffs noed a bit because that'd be where mori's are a major threat. A balanced threat nonetheless. In EGC that could mean moris EGC regardless of hook state or just have it as 1 hook state = mori at 1 gen left.

Well Yeah but I was saying girls don’t often get the feminine or girly cosmetics beyond Feng and Yun-Jin. Like I understand Kate having only a couple but especially back when Jane was released it was like tomboy galore up until the release of Elodie where they definitely started toning down on masculine female survivors and masculine female survivor skins. Back then (during Jane’s release) we definitely could’ve gotten this version of her and it would’ve stood out a lot more than our current version IMO.
Idk what you're talking about Jane had several feminine outfits back then. If your examples are Feng and Yun-jin then that says more to me that you want the cutesy outfits that fit more in an anime than a horror game. Also not all Hispanics look "Hispanic"... You're basically asking for a stereotype.
-
I didn't mind the quickscoping on Deathslinger. I think the TR change is fine but I think the whole argument of being 'consistent' is BS. There's nothing wrong with killers each having different radiuses. That is just one thing that can make some builds more viable on some killers than others. In the same vein, perk consistencies aren't necessary either. It should come down to balance purely.

I have also seen South Africans paired with Europeans. Both described situations are players from other -continents- getting paired with players on other -continents- which is an inexcusable problem. The entitlement drips from every syllable.
You may live in a high-developmemt are near a major server hub, but most people don't. Most people go above 100+ ping multiple times in a trial, killer and survivor. And even if you take that into account, you're still effectively banning everyone who lives rurally or in a country without a server hub.
100ms is entitled sure. Demanding that players be on the same ######### CONTINENT is not.

None of those have to do with the SBMM system. Not even sure they same teams were assigned to any of those areas.
All the game development ones are the same team... The only one that didn't is the cosmetics which is literally a different team.

There is no counter when there's two lockers side by side.
Slug the person with the flashlight or lightborn if that's too much of an issue.

Dude reverse pallet stuns and flashlight locker saves are dumb. Good riddance. Now they just need to remove 360s and put improved movement back into the game and we gucci.

because there is no way for killer to counter it
Perhaps slugging the person(s) with the flashlight.

Yes, remove all the counters so every game is on training wheels.

Now before people say 'hurrdurr ranks don't mean anything' the MMR was reset recently and you are only going to be that high in rank if you are either: new or took a long ass break. They all played like new people. This happens in solo queue. Games when everyone is the same grade are just as inconsistent. One game you got potatoes and the next you got coordinated people. Its no different than before except that people aren't gonna depip past their grade so eventually the problem is going to be hidden in that regard but plainly obvious for anyone playing.
tldr: the mmr is just as bad. the problem is just going to be hidden on end screen.

Yes its the customer's fault BHVR doesn't do a hotfix. Fanboy much?

My games when I did play were just as inconsistent as before. Some games I would get coordinated people and then the next two are braindead. Some games I got thrown some brown grade players that also played like brand new survivors. If you want reliable matchmaking on survivor side all you can do is play SWF. If you want it on killer Yes grades don't "mean anything" but if someone is brown and playing with iri's then clearly the MMR didn't do anything it just threw them in where they fit.
