Because it is selfish and the majority of the time someone is doing it is a fixable situation. Typically they whine about their team and are just projecting their own shortfallings. If you're doing it just cause you went second that's childish. If gen progress was being made then that trade off may be worth it. Depending on the killer there could also be traps set up to slow getting there. So what would be a normal time to get there if it was just a m1 or ranged killer may not be enough if it happened to be a trapper/hag that set traps. Doing it over player skill is silly considering one that just lowers you further so its more likely and secondly I seriously doubt you're the perfect player either. The one time I think it is fine honestly is only when there is a hacker or someone abusing their connection to get hits easier.

Aka the quitter exploit to give hatch.
Sack up and bleed out with dignity. Rather calling for a “waah I quit!” Option.
You’re still in play and bleeding out is just part of the game.
I’ll grab you a dustpan for your mind there.
Exploit? You got some strong mental gymnastics there. They don't get an escape for having a give up option. They don't get points for it. Do you not know how forfeiting works? When people do a forfeit vote on Valorant do you think they won? LOL. There's nothing gained from having there be no option. There is just time being wasted for no purpose. I get my time wasted as the killer if I were for whatever reason unable to hook the person and the survivor is getting nothing out of it being on the ground.
It seems more like you just don't know how to make an actual argument against it. I think you should just be honest and admit you want to be petty to people. Simple solution for hatch: Don't let it activate in that circumstance. I guess the next retort is going to be "But now they can just immerse to the gate!" Wah!"

The devs even acknowledge this, and that's what confuses me. The know that it was major risk = major reward, I just don't understand what they were going for, Mettle hasn't been an issue since it was nerfed the first time.
Obliviously they were going for "????" and "major reward".

I'm going to blow your minds. Being slugged is part of the game.
Okay. I'm going to blow your mind: You can in fact allow a bleedout option of the last person playing the game was to quit rather than wait 2 3 minutes because someone wants to slug for 4k.

It creates a text log which they presumably never read. Pair it with a website report if you'd like them to also post its "solved" after doing nothing a week+ later.

I wouldn't mind it, the stun already worked that way for killers like plague for corrupt purge.
-
It doesn't work on there? I just tried it with a PS4 controller on PC and it still let me see the ms.

If you hover over it it shows your exact ms. If you want something in game like PUBG has a setting to see all that stuff like packet loss in game... Yeah they don't have an option for that.

I've been using kinship for like 10 games and came to that conclusion. I think a slower progression is in X range would be fine. Then have the freeze in the second. I do think it should take into account if there is a high progress gen or hex totem in the area if it is base kit.
@[Deleted User] said:
So a killer who hooks a survivor in their 3 Gen zone should what? Be forced to cross the map because it’s more “fun”?
Gosh golly what do you think the solution to that issue would be? A range where if hex totem or high progress gen is within X range it doesn't activate. Boom, fixed. Now can we stop using that as an excuse for people that actually want to hard camp just for the sake of it cause they set out to do so from the beginning or gave up on pressuring gens?

The thing is Twitch has probably a 30+ sec delay between your game and their stream so you can't technically stream snipe. I found that out when I was playing survivor and wanted to watch another survivors Twitch stream after I got sacrificed and noticed there was a delay going on.
Yes you can... You can literally just know the general area someone is at and that is enough. It becomes more obvious if you are stream sniping though when your movements are matching that delay time. You can also just use it to play around perks. The solution there is to simply hide survivor names pre-game lobby from the killer just as the survivor cannot see the killer's name pre-game. The only defense people have for it ever is:
- So they can put on a mori if their name says mori.
- So they can lobby dodge.
Those are the only counterarguments I've ever seen. It blows my mind that people think the second one is a good game design take.
While the negatives are:
- Stream sniping.
- Griefing a player. I've have this happen several times.
- Switching loadouts because they played them previously or to be toxic because they know them.
- Teaming with a specific player or organizing farming. The former is why you can't see names on other games like PUBG, also so people can't stream snipe unless they were already in that person's stream.
- Lobby dodging.
The one actual reason to have names that is actually legitimate is to pair a name with the cosmetic but that is also a simple fix... Have the headpieces show the cosmetic. If MMORPG games from over a decade ago can manage animated versions of that I fail to see why this one can't. It'd look better in general anyways. I have no doubt people would like to see whatever their headpiece is on the list.

Its funny how people complain about far away exit gates when there are plenty of RNG placements that have the gates right next to eachother and both can easily be patrolled or looked at with zero obstructions. Seemingly people keep their mouths shut about those ones. Bloodlust hasn't been needed for a long time. If you genuinely need blood lust, especially after these changes you should quit playing killer entirely or ease up and accept the bracket you should be at. There's a need for several maps to get reworked for long walls. They aren't infinites but they're too long. Some killers also need their powers fixed for heights as well. When Hawkins was still around, and this can be seen on several other maps, you can could just run up to a room with a long stairs loop and Pyramid Head becomes a pure M1 killer cause he can't hit across with his power. If you are genuinely saying though that this update is a great job and ignoring the flaws in it while simultaneously asking for more? You're part of the problem. People need to be honest about the state of things instead of just lying to get an easier time which is why things see-saw.

The grind was only reduced for those who had already grinded. They removed the BP gains from BBQ and WGLF (which is just dumb) and made prestige almost mandatory, when it should have stayed optional.
Easier to get perks? Sure, if you had planned for that before the update dropped. Now it is far more difficult to get items, add-ons, offerings...
And those things are needed.
Even for those that did grind its increased because there's just a bunch of junk rather than valuable items. If you want something worthwhile you end up having to waste more time doing webs that mostly off nothing.

99% of the buffs perks got are a joke.
Only 2 perks got ACTUALLY buffed : BT and Off the record.
The rest of the buffs are literal dumpster worthy.
WGLF is nice. Distortion was what was asked for, other than only having 3 tokens... Perks like undying quickly eat them. That's about it. BK didn't need to be nerfed, the green med kit needed to just not have a boost for -self- healing which was why the green med kit was problematic with BK. Not BK itself.
-
People that actually think its dead hard are so brain dead. Why even bother asking when people have already repeatedly clarified legitimate balance issues about the changes? There are some great ones, like dead hard. Then there are others, which have been listed repeatedly that are not.
-
Also can't spend on other killers while locked into matchmaking as one despite zero downside to it... Or look in the shop while matchmaking. For that bit its really dumb on that part considering it'd probably make more people impulse buy stuff.
-
I don't think all of the changes are bad.
A few I don't like are:
Bloodlust trigger times have been reduced to 15 seconds for Tier 1, 25 seconds for Tier 2, and 35 seconds for Tier 3 (was 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and 45 seconds)
This wasn't necessary. As it is... Bloodlust shouldn't even be a thing entirely. If you can't catch a survivor despite all the nerfs and the lack of inifinites idk what to say honestly. Bloodlust is archaic and needs to go entirely.
Barbecue and Chili
It needs a secondary or something. There's no reason to run BBQ anymore except aura reading. The WGLF change by comparison is great.
Tinkerer
Added: This effect can only be triggered once on each generator.
I think the undetectable should be extended considering it only works once per gen. That would make it still desirable.
Iron Will nerf has just led to showing how busted spirit's top add ons are again.
Botany Knowledge and Calm Spirit didn't deserve having a downside. The solution for fixing med kits was to specifically address the green med kit. Every other med kit only heals others faster. The green one is the one that was problematic. Instead of addressing the simple fix of just having it heal others as fast the purple but with half the charges... They nerf botany. Calm spirit didn't need to have the totem nerf it was already not a desirable perk.
I also noticed that prestiging the killers and survivors from the Stranger Things update gave nothing for the perks lol. So that's cool. Why'd I p3 them again?
-
Some of the survivor ones just look like bad cosplay. The killer ones are overpriced considering they don't even have unique sounds but are "ultra rare". The lack of unique sounds just makes them seem out of place.
-
The iron will nerf has just led to it being more plainly obvious that pink add on spirit is still busted beyond belief.
The icons don't look great. The botany knowledge change is really stupid. There isn't any sense in making the perk -worse- for med kits... It was bad enough removing the efficiency entirely. If the green med kit was too fast then obviously the fix for that was to make it not heal yourself faster.
-
Idk how people fool themselves into thinking no one ever stream snipes. Its like saying no one would ever look at your screen in split screen lmao. Or that no one ever checks your profile to see if you have a friend in the lobby or whatever other reason. The more ridiculous thing is acting like its fine.
People do and it becomes very obvious if someone is when the stream is delayed X time and they happen to go to the area you were at in that time difference. What can be said is a lot of people also call false alarms just as people do with cheats. It doesn't suddenly remove the fact that people do cheat.
So there goes that strawman.
There is no benefit to having names shown in the lobby. There are two outcomes if that person is either streaming or if they have played with the killer before:
- 1. They may change their loadout based on that. People sure did when they could change their killer to a different one. I can admit I would do that if I seen 4 med kits. I'd go switch to plague lol. So tell me why someone wouldn't change their load out of they already played that person recently and more than likely already know their build/playstyle.
- 2. They may organize farming/teaming.
- 3. They may grief that person cause they lost to them or they played with them as survivor and didn't like them or may just grief them because they're streaming if they are one. I'm literally looking at a lobby right now where I am playing a survivor I played against before lol.
- 4. People may dodge you altogether.
Name me one benefit to having names shown in lobby for opponents. Oh right, you can't. I don't really care if it gets added as a feature or not but people oughta stop making strawmans over saying to not put it.
-
Its still a good perk and the anti healing perks got buffed so if anything its better than it used to be. A lot of people just aren't secure enough in themselves to give up their 3 gen perks builds.
-
What I find annoying is they keep it this way for so long despite the complaints. Why isn't fixing something that is obviously broken and EASY to fix not on a road map? Or better yet just admit you're lazy and give us a check box so people that don't want to put up with it can speak without... Well I wanted to use hash tags for words but even on this forum that breaks stuff LOL so now this whole message is bold.

I've already unlocked all perks on a few of my survivors, should i go ahead and spend my 2 mill BPs on getting add ons right now or wait for the new system?
From the sound of it its better to just do it now if you want add ons because the blood webs are going to go from small to big which means you're getting far more junk instead of rare add ons.
-
Unnecessary and if people are so concerned about healing speeds there's literally a perk that eats up all that progress if u interrupt them. Within seconds straight to zero. Plus all the add ons that have similar effects.

I feel like they don't need to cross off a check list for it.

You know what's funny? Despite those changes, blood lust is still going to be a thing lol.

Everyone was new once, even if you're an absolute legend now. Ignoring the problems that new players face is the fastest way to make them quit the game out of frustration before they can build up some experience. That's not to say we should balance solely around new players, but often times their feedback can highlight where the onboarding (teaching a new player the game) could be better. More often than not, this comes down to improving the feedback while playing against something rather than balance changes.
But ignoring anyone's opinions just because they're not as good as you is never the answer. Elitism doesn't help anyone. The game's for everyone, not just the top X%.
Quoting statistics doesn't suddenly make nerfing things or buffing the right decision nor does it mean anything is weak. Nurse has terrible stats, picks, kill rates yet is literally the most busted killer in the game and no one is disillusioned to that. The only defense around her is ya'll not knowing that statistics are meaningless without -context- and that the initial hurdle of wheezing deters people because a lot of people want instant gratification. Some of the changes are great but ya'll are incredibly short sighted and ignore things that the playerbase says for years. So that'll be really fun to see even more exploited than before. You don't have to balance around the top whatever percent. You do however have to actually take into account things that are absolutely detrimental to balance design for the game overall and then take into account how things can be -abused-. It only seems like that is done after the fact and seldom is that after the fact immediate. Several of these changes were suggested years ago.
And daily reminder: There's still a chat filter on the game that makes it impossible to have a conversation. Another great testament to the quality standard and completely missing the point of what players actually were after when they simply wanted people that were racist/giving death threats in end game chat to get punished. Instead, a lazy filter that is put to shame by ones in browser games and has been that way for what, like two years now?
-
How about we have a full on turn the chat filter off option.

I feel like most killer players just want gens to be impossible to repair, the +10 seconds and 2.5% kick regression is great
This so much. I don't think people realize how much of a difference that makes. How many times as a killer for example have you had someone pop a gen in your face that you would have stopped if there was just one more second of time? Then people complain about prove thyself when it makes more sense for survivors to split up. And that's disregarding that there's multiple gen perks that are going to make that harder; there's legit multiple perks that will blow up the gens causing them to lose progress or kick them off the gen to give you even more time to arrive. The 2.5% makes it worth it to kick gens. And if you are positioning your hooks good to where it discourages them from popping a high progress gen it's gonna lose a lot more progress in addition to that.
I'd like BNP to still be changed though. It is still unhealthy post-nerf. It should just make repairs much more quiet permanently on that gen.
-
Shelter Woods.
*mic drop*
-
They wouldn't of even needed to change the numbers if they actually followed the QOL features other games with challenges have and let people either select up to X amount or just have them do the nearest nodes. I got a feeling that despite the community challenge showcasing that design flaw they're gonna ignore it like every other rift pass.
-
Quoting stats and data is meaningless without context. It is like saying X fighter is so weak on Tekken then ignoring uncounterable combos that are there simply because they require a few more button presses to pull off while the simpler combos on it are weak. That's the equivalent of nurse. Totally different genre but yes, point being statistics don't mean much if you look at them the wrong way. Looking at them the wrong way on there would basically be looking at low level play as what to base it off of. The described situation in Tekken doesn't exist though btw if you'd like to play a balanced game.
-
An icon is very lackluster so nope.

DS EGC is fine. DS not deactivating on the gate is not. I don't feel like DS needs a skill check either anymore either but whatever.
-
@drsoontm said:
DS is fine as it is. If a player don't want to miss a kill because of DS, he only has to eat it strategically. (Or to tunnel, that works too.)
It isn't 100% fine. It does not deactivate on the gate panel.... Which forces the killer to slug you just like with totems and gens. That is a massive flaw. What's weird is no one ever points that out.
-
Honestly the addition of the new survivor perks makes me feel like they aren't going to really fix the issues. The perk that lets you see other survivors scratch marks for example could've just added that ability onto Fixated or whatever Nancy's perk was changed to.... That would at least make the perk more useful. The reason why people run the meta is because ya'll got a ######### ton of perks and most are a niche that isn't good enough to justify running it. So unless 80 perks are gonna be buffed it would make more sense and reduce grind to just combine the ones that do too little with perks that are relevant to what they do to begin with.

There's plenty of maps that have gens that spawn in tiles with no nearby locker spawns.
Garden of Joy has a few. Shelter Woods practically spawns no lockers as it is.
Shelter woods is a badly designed map overall. It also has sparse pallets, massive dead zones with nothing to break LOS* and the only place there's a jump for balanced landing really is a tricky move on the tree or the basement stairs. On top of that aesthetically its uncreative. Those points being why it is called a killer sided map; its basically the polar opposite of old Haddonfield.
Garden of Joy I don't know the variations well enough to say one way or the other.

You HAVE to be trolling. Outside of Nightfall, he can only teleport once every 12 seconds, and ONLY to lockers. Demogorgon and Nurse are drastically better for constant teleports, and can select their destinations
You make it sound like there isn't a locker at just about everywhere important or that 12 seconds is a long time for a teleport compared to the time everything else takes for actions or the fact that's multiple times in a single chase; along with the option to set one to shut down a loop. Idk how you came to the conclusion that demogorgon is better when you have to do your own setup and survivors can permanently take your teleport down. You can't take a teleport down for dredge because the locks can be broken and broken out of with a longer time. Nurse is obviously better, yes and there's many people that point out how unbalanced nurse is and that the devs can't really do anything about it but still keep nurse in game anyways.

I agree, there ought to be some sfx toggles. - Toning Nightfall and the other sounds that can be triggering down is one way to go. I can however see the argument being made that some people might just use that feature to tune down a whole lot of sfx to gain some sort of advantage from hearing less background noise. - Maybe the option to replace certain sounds would make sense. For Dredge dynamic noise might be an option; just as loud, just as distracting when it comes to covering up other noises - but pretty trigger-free i imagine. Also not exactly pleasant to listen to, so if you don't have an issue with the original sfx there is little to be gained from going for the trigger-free version.
(And on a side note: the whole "just deal with it because x" line of argument is not helpful, imho. You don't tell a colourbling person to expect there to be colours in a video game and just deal with it either; you expect that key-colours can be clearly distinguished from each other by colourblind people as well.)
It isn't helpful. It also isn't wrong. You being afraid of something isn't the same as a physical disability. You can overcome fears and discomfort. You can't overcome colorblindness.
