  • Surely I can't be the only one asking myself this question, these cosmetics were pretty cool! Unless people already forgot about them lol

There are 195 countries. If we get a seperate charm category for them I would be fine with those, but without? Sry, I do not need 30 pages of flags in addition to 30 pages of other charms.

These charms could just be redeemable by code just like the Pride and Progress ones. You would not get 30 pages unless you decide to obtain all of them one by one. This would not be an existing issue.

  • They essentially just need to make Chris actually look like he's from the earlier games if they want him to have a STARS outfit. It looks off to have what is supposed to be RE5 Chris wearing this outfit.

So I suggest they either make Chris look like in RE5 (including having him wearing BSAA outfit), or committing to the 1998 STARS outfit but with his younger self.

It's that simple but I find it sad people don't ask for that more often.

@Nyaren_Chan the DBD support told me they are looking into it.

    maybe little more hope :)

Wow! Really? I sure hope they will fix it then :) glad to hear !

  • @PrivateEAD said:

@Nyaren_Chan me planning also to buy a new Pc and i feel the same like you.

"but still, feels bad not to be able to play on literally the same PC I've been playing this game on."

the bad point is... i proberly get the new pc on january 2022

This is sad to hear. You wont even be able to enjoy the full Resident Evil Chapter experience. That's a shame honestly, I'm starting to feel they actually wont solve this issue, nor even talk about it.

  • @PrivateEAD said:

We just have to hope the developers know and work on it because it's really bad because I've learned the game for the last 3 months where it was still working before the 4.6.0 patch came out

and with these problems the game is almost non-existent ... :(

and my computer is currently also in the minimum of DBD. even about it

I've been playing for more than a year without any issue up until this patch. Thankfully I plan to buy a new gaming PC in a few months after moving out, but still, feels bad not to be able to play on literally the same PC I've been playing this game on.

  • @PrivateEAD said:

I'm starting to find it cheeky that nobody cares about this problem!

It's been a problem for players since the all-kill chapter! and it doesn't matter whether we are a minority or not

and not even any information whether the developers know or not

Totally agreed, I share your frustration since two weeks now. I literally have to slug through the rest of the rift, while having unbelievable and numerous optimization problems that makes the gameplay very difficult. Can barely play on non-reworked maps with very minimal settings, while still having some problems, but reworked maps are a mess. The more they wait to solve the issue, the less map we'll be able to play on.

Even people who are able to play normally still experience some various level of stutters and lower FPS depending on the map/killer.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/242481/will-you-ever-fix-these-fps-issues

Been dealing with these same issues and worse on console, with precious few options at all to help our frames. I always asummed our PC cousins and their rigs could brute force this game into operating. Saddens me to see posts like this.

You console players have had it rough and you would largely benefit from an optimization update.

  • @PrivateEAD said:

I didn't have any issues before the 4.6.0 update. I was able to play at 100% resolution at low graphic with no problems!

After the patch, I can't even play low and 65% without it starting to stutter heavily.

    R9 270x

    16 gb RAM

    i7 4770h

It's been like a week, they still didn't acknowledge the issue. I'm starting to feel nobody cares even though it is a relevant issue. Our game was working perfectly well prior to the update and now it's unplayable..

EDIT: Things are much better by massively lowering the resolution. There are still minor stutters but it's not as bad. Though I hope the issue will be solved soon! Reworked maps are still unplayable however.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

As a consoler who's been pleading for optimization for years now I wholeheartedly agree. If stronger PC's are beginning to struggle running this game, what hope is there for my lil ol' Xbox?

I don't get why this isn't a priority at this point. I'm ready to get a better PC eventually but clearly the requirements to run this game perfectly are pretty high.

Balance is important, I get it. But you can have the best balanced game and not be able to run it, see what I mean? :D

Agreed, the game has its issues but it has to be playable at least. But oh well, I don't think the devs will ever read this topic anyway.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Well said, couldn't agree more!

Hopefully it will at least be acknowledged as an issue of the most recent patch, weird that so many people had their performance crashing down after release!

  • Pharmacy. You can open chests quite fast and the guaranteed medkit saved many situations for me. Then again I know many people prefer Inner Strength.. but it's just not my cup of tea even though it probably encourage people to do more totems and it can also save situations.

As someone who plays 15fps normally (until I get my new pc which will hopefully be able to hit a record of 20) Lèrys don't actually drop for me. It's really weird but my 15fps is at least a stable 15 and the only time I get framerate drops are the first time everyone falls asleep when I'm playing freddy.

I don't have drops on Lery's either, I used to have very low FPS while playing on Badham Preschool (the basement..), but they seemed to have fixed this so now it's fine.

  • @Khroalthemadbomber said:

I do not. A prime example of why is Killer Shack.

Currently it's a ramshackle building with wooden slats you can see through. As such, SMART Survivors can see through it and watch the Killer's movements.

According to the imagery, new Killer Shack is going to be a solid, brick and mortar design. Presumably, you will NOT be able to see through those walls to be able to see and mirror the Killer's movements.

If Survivors have the option to turn off the graphical update and go back to the far easier means of tracking the Killer, pretty much every single one of them will. At which point, what was the ######### point in doing it in the first place?

That's a fair point. In this case more graphical customization should be the goal, instead of having the option to go "back".

  • I would have voted Samara but I'd rather get Kayako Saeki from Ju-On: The Grudge. Yes I know many people are gonna disagree saying the Spirit is a thing.. but then again remember the whole Hillbilly/Leatherface thing. Besides, Spirit is not really like her in the way she moves or attacks.

So instead, I'd say Xenomorph would be a great choice for this game!

  • @Saranghei said:

Your PC running bad is due to them having terrible coding and optimization. If they do the graphics update properly and fix their code then it will more than likely run better than it did before. I find it kind of ridiculous I get frame drops in this game at times yet can run around doing whatever in RDR2 and have nothing happen.

This^ I have also noticed this game has terrible optimization. It takes far more resources than needed, I also can play more modern games without such issues. Perhaps if they optimize the game better and add more graphical options, they could avoid it being an issue for some people. Not everyone has godlike performance and PCs!

  • Well as I said some people are running this game very smoothly but they might have less good performance when playing with the new graphic update. Maybe they don't really care about having more detailed graphics and don't really want to have lesser performance. It still needs to be an accessible game that of which you can change the parameters.

More graphical options to the game would be essential in my opinion, then again I'm also hyped for this, but I fear for my performance.

  • When I started playing DBD I naively thought "BONK BONK BONK" was Doctor's chase music, because I had played a few games and had only heard it on Doc and thought every killer had its own chase music xD..

    Still my favorite!

  • Oh boy, I could have put Hag, but I legit find it very boring to play against Freddy. I don't know why, I am pretty bad against him and I just find his many powers very annoying..

  • My answer is a bit of mix from very excited and wanting to check out the Silent Hill franchise. I have only been a DBD player since last October, so I have only lived the release of two chapters so far (Cursed Legacy and Chains of Hate) but I've gotta say this upcoming Silent Hill Chapter is the best I have experienced so far. So excited!

Modernist writing style would make sense, since how continually on the rise is. I’ve read (or at least I believe) a few postmodernist books and it would make sense.

The writing is cohesive, and flows smoothly— which, when thinking about the audience it caters to, makes sense. The ideas themselves are identifiable when you read the text, different compared to other post-modernist texts.

But also, this argument can be held to one of my personal favorite topics; fashion. Post-Modernism has been subtly on the rise as well; with a previous pre-dominant modernist industry.

This is mostly shown through designers like Louis Vuitton, which again have been making more simple, clothing, which also brings me to my next point. Judging by the cosmetics themselves, I would like to say that the cosmetics have modernist aesthetics as well. This is namely due to, how odd the post-modernist fashion can be.

Post-Modernist Fashion itself, is a mix of concepts, or patterns— in this case, think of literally anything David Bowie, Lady Gaga, have worn— or anything designed by Alexander Mcqueen. In addition, it could be argued that the style of androgyny is postmodernist could fall into that as well, with Nea being able to fall into that example. Base-Nea, with a saggy tank and even saggier pants.

Anyway: my point is, postmodernism, in terms of cosmetics, varies from person to person. I think that the memories, or tomes themselves, when put in context of this game, is more so modernist due to the summary-like nature of the entries. But, this ignores the other part of the entries I found interesting: how they tied to a realistic, and well-talked of struggle. Claudette (in my opinion) has signs of living with some sort of social/mental disability, which I myself too live with. Jane’s entries talk about the acting industries odd-racial fixation, especially with Latin-American characters. My point is; many of the entries to me, feel open to interpretation, which, judging by a little reading I’ve done may fit the postmodernist writing style.

In a way, this fits the theme of the Entity pretty well. It feeds upon such feelings and on struggle and pain.

  • I am really glad it ended up as a very interesting conversation! I do hope we will get an answer from the devs about it, because truly we are going to go through tons and tons of tomes and challenges to get all this lore. All these answers have been very interesting to read indeed!

I have not studied post-modernism yet though so I can't really tell if it's more post-modernist or modernist, but I guess we'll eventually figure out.

  • Yeah, I wonder if I could get an answer from them about this.

I actually agree with you, but mostly about the fact characters seem to be quite one-dimensional, but otherwise, the way they were writing, the fact the narrator explains the character's feelings, using its tone and vocabulary (for instance, in Doctor's story, it is very visible), I was wondering if they weren't inspired by it a bit.

  • Legion. They're my main.

I also enjoy to play Doctor a lot.

  • We NEED Pretty Lady Leatherface.

  • Recently had to play against a facecamping Spirit. She kept phasing to pretend she's going away, but remained very close to the hook. The only times I saw her going away was when she was convinced there was a Survivor inside a house.

It takes place right after season three.

I guess that means that if we see them in season four, they somehow escaped The Fog.

    So there is an escape.

Well then again, ST is canon according to Dead by Daylight, but that does not mean DBD is canon in the ST universe.

    @Nyaren_Chan

    legion tactics

You keep applying damage as Legion, he isn't a Killer that just focuses on one chase and than downs them... he's a Killer that focuses on all opportunity to put each Survivor into the injured/mend state.

Focus more on that, because the more Survivors that're damaged and mending, the more time they'll be wasting healing themselves from you... basically to avoid your M1 for an insta-down. Unlike Plague, Legion can get every Survivor into the injured state a lot quicker! The downside to this is, unlike Legion, the Plague can keep them in that injured state for the whole game afterwards because of the fear of her super vomit.

Focus on hitting everyone in the game as much as you can before beginning to down them... you don't have to injure EVERY Survivor at the start for this to work... but injuring the most Survivors you can REALLY benefits The Legion in the long run.

You seem to know most your basics though, so above is the most important ones to follow.

    add-on combos

As said before, when you starting a match you should always focus on Feral Frenzy hitting as many Survivors as you can... in the past his Speed + Duration add-ons would be the best choice for doing so... but now just using Stolen Sketchbook + Mural Sketch will suffice, as they keep his Feral Frenzy active for much longer...

Another add-on combo is Cold Dirt + Joey's Mixtape. This combo can easily injure a Survivor and than have you cancel your Feral Frenzy ontop of them for a quick M1 chase, (If there isn't any pallets or windows immediately nearby that is).

But, those two add-ons focus on his already inherent ability to apply damage... If you're already good at doing this without them, than you can try this really good add-on combo.

One of the best add-on combos on Legion would be the Iridescent Button + Filthy Blade combo. This combo will eliminate every pallet in and out of a chase when vaulted, and it projects your Terror Radius onto the entire map as well... Filthy Blade also allows you to keep Survivors into the mend state a lot longer... so it wastes a lot more time as well!

Other combos like Filthy Blade + Nasty Blade also work great with keeping people off generators and mending! (The exploit was patches a long time ago so don't worry about that).

Or you can combine a Duration build with a mend build and just use Stolen Sketchbook + Filthy Blade... that's also a very good build to use if you want to have a longer Feral Frenzy chain-stab AND keep them off generators longer. This add-on combo could be argued as THE BEST combo.

    perk builds

Last, one of the important ones. Having the right perks on Legion can make a big difference in-game... so here's the perk build that I use on him... this build focuses on his primary goal (damage) and also rewards the legion for downing people AND keeping them injured.

This build would be, Thanatophobia, Nurse's Calling, Pop Goes the Weasel, and BBQ & Chili. Now allow me to explain why this build is so effective...

Thanatophobia rewards the Legion for doing his primary goal, it gives each Survivor a small but noticeable action speed boost to Repairs and Healing... but its primary function on the Legion is why I use it. Thanatophobia when paired with Nurse's Calling can allow for some very good mind-games to be had... Thanatophobia will make Survivors think it's a good idea to heal MORE than without it... this is so the penalty is removed when not fully healed... but if they heal within 24 Meters of me with Nurse's, than I can see them and easily down them.

Nurse's Calling is also good on its own without Thanatophobia, it allows me to track people that're healing within 24 meters... this makes for some easy downs on unsuspecting players... but with Thanatophobia is where it truly shines! Nurse's Calling is by far a must have on Legion... not so much on Plague because Plagues injured Survivors never heal, and when they do it isn't shown on the fountains.

Pop Goes the Weasel rewards The Legion for finally proceeding with the down phase. Once a downed Survivor is hooked by his hands, he gains a 25% generator regression bonus on any generators he kicks WITHIN 60 seconds. This covers the other side of the Legions cycle of damage, downing, damage, downing and can keep generators from being repaired for a long time! The less generators that're on the map... the easier it is to monitor and keep them from being completed...

Last, BBQ & Chili. A Basic meta perk, but it also rewards The Legion with a 100% bonus BP gain during Post-Game AND an Aura reading to any Survivors that're outside of the 40 meter aura reading... This really helps finding Survivors on generators AND any injured Survivors nearby as well.

    other perk builds...

You can also mix and match perks as well to see what you like... Before I used to run Discordance instead of Pop Goes the Weasel... Discordance will lets you know if the Survivors are gen rushing you AND notifies you if they're actually near you as well with the vague generator aura reading...

It's best to pair this with PGTW, but that's up to you if you want to remove BBQ & Chili, Thanatophobia, or Nurse's Calling for it...

Also, I don't use Ruin on Legion despite his post-nerf because it's never needed for me... Ruin isn't always a 100% "I win" perk... it requires a lot of luck to keep up for more than 30 seconds to 1 minute... and for a Killer like Legion... cutting your attention off your primary goal to keep people away or off your totem ONCE found is a hassle.

So don't use Ruin unless you think not even caring about it once found is... acceptable... if that's the case than just use Corrupt Intervention... Corrupt isn't a Hex perk and turns off 3 generators that're the farthest from you... having to monitor only 2 generators with a Killer like Legion is VERY powerful...

I know I posted this a long time ago, but I wanted to thank you for the build suggestion. All this time I have been trying to play few games of Legion to better myself. And I recently managed to gather all the needed perks. I just did a match as Legion, using your suggested build (although i replaced Nurse's Calling with Ruin, just to try), and i managed to get a 4K + the hatch. I managed to maintain a lot of pressure and even down some gens back to zero when they were the closest to being done.

Thank you very much, I will be able to learn how to master Legion now.

    @AhoyWolf said:

I like to use those 4 perks:

    BBQ, for better map awareness.

Ruin, so I don't get genrushed.

Bamboozle, for that sweet 15% increased vaulting speed and for blocking windows, because some Survivors are smart and will vault the window until your power gauge is empty.

Thanatophobia, to slow the game down just a little bit, if the Survivors are healing, they will waste too much time, and if they're not, they will be working on a gen with a 16% debuff.

But sometimes i switch Thana for Fire Up or Discordance.

Thank you as well, when I will get Bamboozle, i will attempt it on the Build.

  • 1980's Jason obviously. The movies are amazing and you could have Tommy as a survivor. Also imagine all the various possible cosmetics we could have.

  • Thank you for the answer, I will make sure to get the perks i want the most first (Pop Goes the Weasel, Corrupt Intervention..) since I already got Ruin, Nurse's Calling, BBQ and Thana.

Better have my build already done before getting all the other perks!

Ummm... what? Loops? I thought looping is basically what you do with every killer... It's kind of like saying 'survivors' weakness is that they can die'.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/905011#Comment_905011

So, he's pretty balanced and all we have to is 'manage to avoid his chainsaw'? So maybe simplify this advice to 'he's pretty balanced, you just have to not die' :D So Nurse and Spirit are also absolutely fine, just avoid blink and haunting and you'll see they're balanced and didn't need any nerf :D What kind of an argument is that? Do you even read yourself? I get it, you like Billy, I liked old Spirit, but it doesn't mean I considered her fine. With old beads game was turning into an easy mode. And I'm sure some Spirit mains would say 'she was balanced, all you needed to do was to mind game her haunting'. With that argument nothing is ever overpowered.

And as for 'low tier killers'... maybe, but buffing needs to be also done carefully, in order to not 'Freddy' the given killer. But if you look at stats Pig is doing pretty alright, Doc as well. I like them both actually, Doc has some cool builds, Pig can also be very dangerous, with specific maps especially. Maybe they could use some teaks, but I don't think it's that important now.

I didn't mean it in such a simplistic way, but fine. I meant if you have enough skill you can manage to dodge his chainsaw. As I said, again, I perfectly understand how people can ask for a cooldown for his power (like most killers)..

  • I don't know about this, DCs shouldn't even be encouraged in the first place, but your feature would be cool, rather than seeing somebody just fall on the ground ridiculously.

  • Original Freddy was a child murderer, but i always felt it was implied he was a pedophile.

  • Wasn't the ST Chapter supposed to be taking place right after Season 2 ?

  • @DontNerf said:

Yes i know another topic on gens but if its been talked about so much why hasnt anything been changed? Far too many times have i gen rushed and been gen rushed in less than 6 minutes, How in the world is that fair or fun? It really does confuse me on how the devs continue to either ingore or just not care about this very large issue. Somthing needs to change and im sure any right minded player of this game would agree.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day

They're already pretty boring to do, especially when you're all alone. Especially the fact you can already run Pop Goes The Weasel and Ruin together and counter genrushing.

Second objective idea: finding the lever for the escape door.

Can be found in chests or on the map itself.

A Second objective idea could be very interesting, but just finding a lever somewhere in the map.. I feel games would end pretty quickly.

  • @SaltySwag said:

He's not -that- strong. Not so strong he needs that dreaded word "rework." He's stable. You have to learn how to finesse with that chainsaw, otherwise he's just as useless as a day 1 trapper main.

He has been the same practically since the game came out? So whats with the NERF BILLY, REWORK BILLY talk? Honestly it's starting to seem like people are grasping for straws almost like knee jerk posts where "OMG I DIED TO A BILLY HE MUST BE OP!"

    So whats the Deal Community?

He is high-tier and pretty balanced, when you manage to avoid his chainsaw charges and make him bump into walls.. or just never get noticed in the first place.. you can easily defeat him. The only rework i could understand would be a cool-down for his chainsaw, but him getting stunned when bumping into stuff is already a "cool-down" to me.

However, does Low-Tier Killers deserve a rework, such as Doctor or Pig..

  • As said before, if a killer gets only 1K, he "lost". If he got 2K, it's a tie. If he got a 3K, it's a victory.

The thing being if you are the only one escaping, you will feel like it is a victory for you, and not for the killer.

Then again even if i lose i am very happy if i managed to do well for a long time, saving people and healing them, escaping the killer, doing gens etc..

  • That reminds me of taunts you can get in Team Fortress 2 through trading or even just by buying them. That is a fantastical idea.

  • Ash's map should be the Cabin, it would make more sense. Ash doesn't work in a supermarket anyway, but in a store.

It should be Ghostface's map, because the trailer.

  • That seems like a nice build! I have BBQ, Ruin and Thana unlocked so far, i will just have lvl up Legion. I'll try to get Bamboozle as well. Thank you for the advice!

  • @Fibijean said:

All Tomes will remain open and completable indefinitely, even after their associated Rift has closed, or a new Tome gets released. You will always be able to come back to Tome 1 in the future to complete challenges and explore any lore you've unlocked whenever you like.

You will also be able to continue earning rewards for completing the challenges in the form of bloodpoints, lore fragments and level completion charms. The only exception is Rift Fragments, which will only be rewarded for completing challenges as long as the associated Rift (that is, the one which was released at the same time as the Tome) remains open. Once the next Tome and Rift are released, you will be able to earn progress in the new Rift by completing challenges in the new Tome only.

Thank you! that's a very reassuring answer. I am crazy about Lore and i was scared i wouldn't be able to get it after some time.

Lol you complain about the game ending in 3 minutes but survivors can borderline end a game in that time a strong set of survivors can end a game in 5 minutes, what's 2 less minutes? 🤣 Lmao I love how the hypocrisy just eludes survivor mains

Agreed. We could even say that in 5 minutes, you easily complete most generators if you do it pretty well. I'm a survivor main myself and it pisses me off when i get killed by an Ebony Memento Mori, but if you avoid getting caught the second time and play more safe the guy wont get the mori.

Getting a survivor out of the game early is the only way to win. 4 options against good survivors: Mori, Camp first survivor, Slug everyone, or Tunnel. But all 4 of these tactics make survivors salty

I hope you're kidding. If you're playing against good survivors, they wont be dumb. Moris don't mean anything as you need to hook them in the first place, of course it gets you a kill faster nonetheless. As for camping, are you aware that by standing right in front of a hooked survivor, at least 2 others will be doing gens meanwhile ? You'll get gen rushed and as soon as someone with Borrowed Time will go for a save, you'll be crying. As for slugging, sure, why not, it's a good tactic if you know how to do it. Tunneling will get you a kill faster but i wouldn't recommend it, always good to get at least a first or second hook on everybody else, not a good idea to focus on a single survivor during the first 5 minutes of the game.. Again, while you're doing that, people are doing gens, peacefully and it feels like holidays for them.

Yes, the ones I have unlocked. Thought there is a collection somewhere. On the characters I can only see the rank 3 perks, but not the teachables.

I wish it would be a thing too. Would be great to see every single perk you unlocked, but then again, as Fibijean said, you can tell by looking at the level of your characters.

This is not a cry, this is a injustice, surivors dont have anymore the insta flashlights, insta heals and brand new part, and why the killer still have the mori, i´ts fact

if the killer put the ebony mori, the survivor will 100% lose or one surv can go into a hatch, seriously the mori needs to go, if the mori will be reworked, rework keys to, for the killers stop say everthing, just for the mori leave the game

    They don't need a rework.

The only thing that needs a rework about moris is the animations, especially for Trapper and Wraith.

  • You mean the ones you have unlocked ? I don't think so, i think you can open the information window on a character to see which perks you have unlocked for other characters.

If you mean how to unlock them, you can use the Shrine, which resets every week and you can get a perk if you have around 2000 shards.

  • Pretty fine, as far as i know you can counter him by healing asap and using Spine Chills. He needs your blood, but if he can't find you, then he can't build-up his power on you.

Since I have nothing better to do, I decided to put together a timeline for when each Killer's story took place. This took, honestly not that much time, but some of it is obviously questionable. And since a lot of these stories could have taken place during a large time period, obviously some Killers are in the wrong spot, but this is the best I could do.

Obviously, Adiris the Plague is the oldest Killer in the game. Babylon existed during 2300-539 BC. Using the knowledge that all the other priests got sick, I interpret that as towards the end of Babylon's reign. But since every time I look up Babylonian plagues, I instead get an album from a band called Iced Earth or the Ten Plagues of Egypt from Exodus, I'm just going to leave it at that. Either way, she is infected (likely through that toe she chopped off, exposing herself to the plague) and exiled herself. I will say this though, since it confuses me. WHY DID THE ENTITY TAKE ADIRIS??? NEVER ONCE DOES SHE KILL SOMEONE!!! Either way, she was desperate and prayed to her gods, and got the Entity instead.

Kazan Yamaoka, or Oni-Yamaoka was a samurai (though his actions make me believe him to be more akin to a Ronin, or samurai without a master, as his father, likely Renjiro, was his master and DID NOT approve of his actions. Plus the whole patricide thing). The question is from what time period. According to several sources, a former peasant by the name of Toyotomi Hideyoshi became a samurai and would eventually become one of the leading men of Japan, roughly around 1590, succeeding ODA NOBUNAGA. After this, he banned non-samurai from owning swords, in an attempt to keep Japan safer. You were either born a samurai, or you weren't. So Kazan has to be from before this time, as he was brutally murdering hundreds of peasant samurai. The period that Hideyoshi (Japanese names, at least back then, were family name, then personal name, so Kazan is actually Yamaoka Kazan, but it makes sense either way) ended was the Sengoku Period, from 1467-1600. That's a long time period to work with, but I'd say he's from around the middle of it, around 1530 to 1550ish, but that's just me.

Anna the Huntress comes from WWI. During the last paragraph of her backstory, it is mentioned that German soldiers are "on the march to attack the collapsing Russian Empire." Notice it says RUSSIAN rather than SOVIET. The German invasion of Russia occurred in 1914 (although I am currently unable to find that information now. Stupid Google search not liking me). She was taken by the Entity after the war ended, in 1918.

Sally the Nurse appears to either be around the time of WWI or WWII, judging by her outfit. If she is from WWI (EDIT: March 6: Which I believe to be the case due to her base outfit saying it is from the early 1920's, not mid), it would make her the third oldest Killer. But if she is from WWII, then Kenneth/Jeffrey begins before her. But his is a bit complicated, and will span a few other Killers' backstories.

Either way, since two decades pass during Sally's backstory, and I don't think they would change the Nurse dress code simply because of money restrictions, her story seems to end around (based on her being from WWI) the 1930's (EDIT March 19: which her base cosmetic description seems to infer) or (based on her being from WWII) the 1950's-1960's. She kills everyone in the asylum and presumably crashes the ambulance, killing everyone in it, before getting the Entity treatment

As I said, Kenneth's backstory takes place over a long time. We actually have an exact year for it's beginning. "Kenneth Chase was born in 1932 by a difficult labour, which his mother wouldn't survive." Doesn't get any more crystal clear. The last year mentioned is 1954, which also coincides with when I believe Evan the Trapper's backstory to occur.

Given that Evan and his father very clearly don't allow a union, they are either relatively new or really picking up speed. And given their extreme measures, I would believe unions to be nearing their peak in all honesty (also, since unions were around since 1881, they can't be a new thing, since Anna's story occurs well after that, and remember, she is the second. Obviously, Evan blows people up, and the Entity gets him.

While all of this is going on, the Cold War is in full swing and the CIA is likely getting Soviet spies. And who was hired by the CIA for interrogation? Herman Carter. The Doctor. Mr. Lag Attack himself (seriously, my computer is amazing but I lag every time against and as him). Presumably, he was hired around 1967, as that was when the Institute became a front for the CIA (thanks again Rattman). More on this in a bit.

Kenneth, now going by the name of Jeffrey, goes on for another decade, bringing us to the 1960's once again. I honestly can't tell how much time passes, but eventually, he rides his carriage into the Entity's realm. I'd say this takes place around the 1970's, but again, there are no real markers to tell us.

We pick back up for a brief moment for Herman for the 1970's, as the Institute thrived, and Project Awakening began. But there isn't too much else to tell for a little bit.

I'm just going to put Lisa the Hag here, in the 1970's, but she is one of the really annoying ones. There are NO markers to tell us when her story takes place (except for a few things about her home being from the 1800's, like the lightbulbs and paddleboats, but she wasn't before Anna), but I'm placing her here since, from what I can tell, the 1970's brought a resurgence of witch culture, which Lisa has plenty of. Even her WIP name was the Witch. But again, her story could have taken place at any time.

Hillbilly and Rin the Spirit are in the same boat. I would place Hillbilly sometime between the 1970's and 1980's, which is when the Poulan 306a was in production. Why is this important. Well... once again, there are no significant markers for Hillbilly, but I would assume he and Leatherface use the same chainsaw. (EDIT March 19, they VERY clearly don't use the same chainsaw. Just compare them for yourself at the store. I did however, while looking through things, noticed that the Coldwind Farm says "After the horrific events of 1972, the building fell into disrepair and eventual ruin." on the Thompson House map. So, that might be the best time to put him.) If someone can actually tell me what model of chainsaw Hillbilly (who is UNNAMED officially, but the wiki calls him Max Jr. [Edit - as DocOctober brought up, he is named Max Thompson Jr. in an official artbook, although his lore makes no mention of it for some reason) uses, then do so. I'm not a chainsaw expert.

Rin is the MOST complicated. Her story has no years, no significant events to talk about, and none of her add-ons help. I thought that her baseball cap would be something, but sport caps were invented in 1849, which is WAY before Anna. Then something caught my eye. "That evening, Rin came home from work. She'd stayed late to entertain customers that lingered at the restaurant. As she parked her bike in the shed, she heard her mother's scream the house."

As she parked her bike (I have no clue how to increase the font size here, so bolding will do). What's the relevance of this? Bikes weren't introduced to Japan until 1971! I can't place her exactly, but I can tell her story takes place after this. We will have to deal with this.
Of course, that was no help. As GamingZebra pointed out, the Japanese military used bikes in their invasion of China in WWII. So Rin is a serious issue that needs addressing. She is probably pretty modern, as PigNRun says, since she was working at a young age and her father was a salary person, but we might have to wait for something more concrete with her (got it, as I'll explain below).

If you count the licensed Killers as canon (which I do), then Leatherface arrived in 1974. My evidence is plain and simple. Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released in this year. Although, I have personally never seen the movie, so this could be different and I would have no idea.

Same goes for Michael Myers. Halloween was released in 1978, but I can actually find the timeline there. The movie starts in 1963, then 15 years later, Michael goes on his killing spree. 1963 + 15 equals 1978, so that adds up. But I am not putting Freddy here, because, like it or not, the in game Freddy is from the remake.

EDIT (January 17): The Léry's Memorial Institute was condemned in 1983, allowing us to take a break from liscensed killers and finishing off Herman Carter. After his experiments become torture to find mind control, he murders everyone and the Entity finds him.

~~Also in 1983 (winter, probably after Doctor was taken), we have the Demogorgon... I think. I've never seen Stranger Things, don't have Netflix, so everything I know about it is from the wiki for Stranger Things. Now, from what I can tell, the main Demogorgon that was seen was in Season One, taking place in 1983, with the ones in Season Two not being full grown, and only being seen in the final scene of Season Three. Seems pretty self explanatory.
Then I read the items. We have things from Season One (Barb's Glasses) and Season Two (Mew's Guts). This throws everything out of order. On top of this, the map is a mish-mash of everything AND some original stuff, and the Survivors are wearing their Season One outfits by default, but their quotes are from all over the place. And the lore is VERY vague about everything to do with Chapter 13 (and I hate this kind of lazy storytelling). Even the way the Demogorgon was taken is not in its backstory, but rather hidden away IN ITS POWER!!! And it was just a hole that opened up and swallowed it. Nothing about how the Entity controls it, or how the Demogorgon reacted. Nope. Just a hole in the ground and boom, we have a Demogorgon.
Through all of this, I have lost my mind several times over, and still can't confidently place it. So why 1983? It makes sense. This is the Demogorgon that we saw in the first season (well, everyone but me it seems). I mean, sure. This could just be some RANDOM Demogorgon that the Entity RANDOMLY decided to grab... but that's just boring. And it matches with the design of Nancy and Steve being from Season One (and say what you will about them being older than 16 and 17, even in Season Three, they are 18 and 19, still below the normal age. You say they are from Season Three, you break the "No teenagers" rule, and you will have a hard time explaining it away. Avoiding bad PR is good, but you can't expect everyone to believe it forever). This IS the ORIGINAL Demogorgon. It's the only thing that makes sense. And yes, I read that the original got blown up or something... but be honest. Do you REALLY want a boring, RANDOM Demogorgon over the original one that we had?~~
(EDIT: October 15) So. We have a problem. As Mikeadatrix pointed out, the Demogorgon we have uses the Season 3 model, seen at the very end. Because I have never seen the show, I assumed they were pretty much the same model from the first season, but it turns out they are not. From a logical standpoint, and the one I now believe to be most likely, this makes this the Season 3 Demogorgon. It makes sense. The items, quotes, map, everything. It works with this being the Season 3 Demogorgon. from a story standpoint, however, it's... disappointing. And it just doesn't feel right. It makes sense, but it doesn't, if that makes any sense. I guess it's better than a RANDOM Demogorgon, but not by much. So, 1985 is my current final answer.

Next up, we have Philip the Wraith. I put him in the 1990's as this was when the Russian mob appears to have been the most active. Why am I talking about the Russian mob? Philip's boss is named Azarov. Azarov is a Russian surname. He disposes of people using a car crusher. To me, that seems like a VERY mob-like way to get rid of someone. On a side note, why DID the Entity take Philip. Is it the same as Rin, where the Entity picked up on his anger or something?

For all the hell that Chapter 12 was, from Danny Johnson's initial powerlessness to not having a map or Survivor, there is one thing that they did pretty well. The lore. Told in the style of a newspaper, we get to somewhat know who Danny/Jed Olsen/Ghost Face really is. And they give us a pretty much exact date. The newspaper is a week old, published on June 18, 1993 (can we just appreciate how this is also his release date? Again, for the hell that it has been, BHVR has seriously impressed me as well). So he was taken roughly around June 25, 1993. Thanks for making my job easier here.

The Legion would be in the same boat as Rin, maybe even worse, if it wasn't for Susie. Normally, I wouldn't consider cosmetics to be canon, but the devs seem to have out of their way to give us a year with Susie that I'll consider her two cosmetics canon. Her sweater on both of them give us the year 1996 (also shown in their photo that takes you to Ormond). They kill the janitor and get grabbed by the Entity (unfortunately, as I've figured out in the past, they are NOT grabbed with Jeff, which is a wasted opportunity and a half).

EDIT: As of January 15, I have actually found something for Rin. It is far simpler than I had originally believed, which is probably why I missed it in all honesty. The university she goes to, Takamatsu, wasn't established until 1996. Meaning this is the EARLIEST year she can be from, and I'd wager that she's probably later than that. But that's as far as I can go with her.

The final two are easy. Amanda's story includes her death from Saw III. "She failed the test and took a bullet as a consequence. Bleeding out on the tiled floor, darkness engulfed Amanda's vision, accompanied by a sound like creaking wood." With Saw III being released in 2006, it feels to me like that is when her story takes place.

And once again, Freddy Krueger is from the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, likely because they couldn't get the rights to Robert Englund's character, so they settled with Jackie Earle Haley instead (I know people are going to hate me for this, but I like this version of Freddy a little bit more, just without the sexual predator part. Englund's version got a bit too comical, and I like the burn effects).

    TL;DR
    Plague (Roughly 539BC)
    Oni (Around 1530-1550)
    Huntress (1918)
    Nurse (1930s/1950s-60s)
    Trapper (1954)
    Clown (1970s)
    Hillbilly (1972)
    Leatherface (1974)
    Michael (1978)
    Doctor (1983)
    Demogorgon (1985)
    Wraith (1990s)
    Ghost Face (1993)
    Legion (1996)
    Spirit (Post 1996)
    Pig (2006)
    Freddy (2010)
(Hag has no clear time markers, so I left her out of the TL;DR)

That took way too long to type. If there are any glaring issues, please tell me. I'll see what I can do to fix them.

op, i have just noticed the red jacket for Frank (the one called "Fairview Varsity Jacket") has 1993 written on the back.

Obv the temple of purgation is the oldest, but which ones are the most modern ones?My best guess is Badham and Ormond being a close second.

Badham Preschool is the most recent map since the licensed Freddy is from the 2010 remake. Ormond, the way we see it in game, is from the 90's (the Legion being from 1996).

As for the Hawkins Laboratory, it is from the 80's, since the chapter is supposed to take place right after the second Season of Stranger Things.
