Freddy is already broken and very boring to play against. His WH-ability and invisibility are pretty annoying. These buffs would make him even more braindead for survivors and I'm 100% sure if devs will apply them to him you will get at least 1 dc almost every game. The only way is to completely rework his abilities (devs are already working on it btw).

Freddy is literally the fourth worst Killer but ok.

Well, if the killer is remaining near the hook the whole time, then Borrowed Time becomes useful.

I'd rather go in for the rescue instead of waiting for the hooked person to reach second stage (or die).

Borrowed basically gives your team an extra layer of safety, which is always nice to have.

I've had numerous games where Borrowed was effectively able to stall out a killer that was determined to camp/tunnel.

If you countered tunneling with BT then your Killers somehow don't know how to tunnel properly.

You can't counter tunneling unless you bodyblock. Bt helps extend the time available to the tunneled survivor thus punishing the tunneler by drawing out the chase. Bt as its current iteration is fine as it is as granting a tunneled survivors those extra seconds can give them a time frame to lose the killer or delay the killers ability to kill them. If bt players took the hit then a billy saw randomly knocking you on your ass would be a little absurd. Also it would make the idea of unhooking a survivor who's playing poorly unappealing if i will get downed for their inability to evade a saw or huntress hatchets.

Yes, it draws out the chase... by a few seconds. It still rewards the unhooker for farming rather than punishing them and screws over the farmed/tunneled Surv WAY more than it punishes the camping/tunneling Killer.

I like Borrowed Time how it is.

    Good perk to combat camping.

Except it's not. Smack the unhooked guy then smack him again or just wait until the timer runs out. Sure it uses up more time than had BT not been used, but it far from counters camping. The only time it's ever useful for actually helping a camped Survivor is when an exit gate is nearby and opened. 99% of people who run BT are either idiots who think it DOES counter camping or toxic asswipes looking to get unhook points without losing Altruism for hook farming. Much like the rest of Bill's Perks, it's very powerful, but only in certain situations you will very rarely encounter in a game.

  • @fcc2014 What I’m talking about is, the boost starts the second you should be done with the vault animation. But what if you vault from a higher story? Between the fall and stagger effects, you’ll have lost half your boost or more.

  • I personally couldn’t give less of a ######### about the hatch. If you’re in a position as Killer where the last Surv NEEDS to escape via hatch, then you’ve definitely done well enough. If you’re going to be so anal over a 4K that a Surv getting a hatch causes you so much grief, that’s depressing.

@Nickenzie Also if the DS nerf goes through it won’t technically “stun” the Killer anymore so Enduring is lost on it.

It will actually stun him, but only in a way that makes him unable to move but just hold on to the survivor

When I say stun I mean in the sense of DS and pallet slams. I don't think an immobilization would count as that, thusly Enduring would no longer affect Decisive Strike.

Unless, of course, it does, because devs.

  • @Nickenzie Also if the DS nerf goes through it won’t technically “stun” the Killer anymore so Enduring is lost on it.

  • @Nickenzie To answer your question about No Mither, if a Survivor enters the Borrowed Time bleedout timer, they can either enter the Dying State through getting smacked or waiting the timer out, or they can get healed into the injured state. People with No Mither equipped cannot be healed into the injured state while Borrowed Time is ticking—they have to go into the Dying State. Right now, the only thing that can pull an NM Survivor into the injured state from BT is Adrenaline activating.

  • I agree and disagree with this thread.

Yes, M1 Killers suck ass. They suck so much ass. Anyone who tries to deny this needs to get out of rank 21. But your scenario just doesn't fit will with me. Yes, it's the worst possible scenario for Survs, but it's extremely oversimplified. Very few areas in DBD maps are actually completely open with the obvious exception of Coldwind maps. Most maps are filled to the brim with loops and vaults and pallets and walls. Now, normally one would think this would only serve as a disadvantage to the Killer, and that is completely justified. However, many of these loops are classified as "unsafe".

It takes a lot of skill. Skill I personally don't have. But I see it in action all the time. Only a few loops in the game are literally "unmindgameable". Good M1 Killers can mindgame many loops, shortening the chase by an absolute unit. A good example of this is Twitch streamer ArdethaBite, or as he goes by his nickname, Mindgame Marvin. Ardetha is an absolute mindgame champion. Hell, he sometimes plays Perkless Freddy at high ranks for the sake of memes, and he doesn't do amazing, but he doesn't do terrible either. Why? Because he can mindgame chases into nothing.

Good mindgames are very strong. That fact is indisputable. Add onto that that only the top 1% of Survivors aren't actually braindead, and M1 Killers who are good enough at their Killer can actually use a substantial deal of loops to their advantage. Without a ridiculous infinite, a realisitc DBD chase scenario actually has great potential to be shorter than the one you described.

However, I acknowledge your point as sound and backed. I don't actually wish to argue against it. Instead, I would like to bring up a different point: The issue is not that the chases are too long. The issue is that gen times are too short. This affects ALL Killers, not just M1 Killers. Let's bring up Mindgame Marvin again. He is an outspoken Shape main, but he very rarely plays Shape at high ranks, only Nurse. Yes, it is because of chases to a certain extent, but he has stated on multiple occasions that the main reason he doesn't play Shape at rank 1 is because by the time he gets out of EW1, at least 1 gen has popped. EW1 Myers is so slow and so terrible at chases that he can't even be considered an M1 Killer. You NEED to pop EW2 ASAP, but no matter how fast you do, it isn't fast enough to counter genrushing. Even if you're a mindgame god, the other three Survs are doing gens faster than a 12-year-old kid on CoD claims to do someone's mom. It's simply too fast, to the point where Ruin is basically a placebo at high ranks (even ignoring the possibility it gets insta-cleansed). Hell, even godlike Nurses who can get a chase done in 6 seconds will still fall victim to genrush if that chase hadn't been initiated immediately after the trial started.

So I think the best way to solve the chase issue is not to nerf chases, but to nerf gens. But the thing is, that would suck so much ass for Survivors. Doing gens is boring. You literally just hold M1 for 80 seconds. The chase is the fun part. So I believe the best option is to add a new objective. And I believe I may just have an idea.

In addition to all the gens on a map, there are four power relay pylons throughout the area. Once all generators are activated, each Survivor is briefly shown the aura of the pylon closest to them. In order to power the gates, they must connect between 5 gens to the pylons. They do this by connecting a wire spool to the gens and dragging the spool to a pylon.

-Connecting the spool to the gen takes 15 seconds and progress is reset if interrupted.
-If Survivors crouch or run while dragging a spool to a pylon, they will audibly drop the spool, which then must be picked back up and continued from where it was left off.
-Connecting a wire to a pylon takes 30 seconds and can be co-opped by one additional Survivor. This is also reset if interrupted.
-Once five gens have been connected to a pylon, the gates will be eligible to open.

I believe this will give the Killer ample more time before the endgame whilst not making the objectives even more boring and static for Survs than they already are.

Not true. Not true at all.

Hag. Nurse. Billy. Pig. Doctor. If you’re good with any of those Killers, you won’t need to rely on Addons. The only Killers that ever RELY on their Addons to even do something are the really terrible ones: Freddy, Trapper, Wraith, maybe Huntress but her Addons can’t save her so

dunno about others, but huntress does not need addons. In good hands she can be a big threat. Instead her addons were making her so OP that they decided to redo the perk just because of some builds with her (rip machine-hatchet huntress)

Huntress is low tier. She’s supposed to counter looping with her ranged weapon but because walls need to exist to prop up said loops, Survs can just press CTRL to dodge. Add onto that her 45 meter directional lullaby and lowered base movement speed without any extra mobility and she’s not that great.

who said anything about looping? actually, you're not supposed to loop with her...

Her hatchets are easy to dodge is my main point. She can’t chase well because of her 110% movement speed, and all any competent Surv has to do to avoid her hatchets is move right when she throws. Or just crouch.

I believe it can't be underpowered with add-ons - but I think no one would pay for a killer who can't activate his power himself. ;)

A Killer who relies on addons to do well is not a well-made Killer. Addons making powers stronger makes all the sense. Making them whole buttloads stronger makes all the sense as well. But making it viable means the base power needs to be buffed.

  • Probably one of the best fanmade Killers I've seen, though I'd like it more if in addition to preventing them from leaving, the Detention power also prevents them from working on gens. In its current state it wouldn't be all too great.

Again, it sounds like you’re playing against really stupid and terrible Killers if you’re able to consistently pull off something that difficult and suicidal. Besides, why take one hit when you can, I dunno, not run No Mither and make that strategy a minimum of twice as effective by making yourself able to take a minimum of double the hits?

Sounds like I'm playing stupid but trust me I am playing very smart. Survivors don't get this either, they see me with NM and then I die first they go "Why NM? You're bad you died LOL" When they don't even realized they escaped 2 chases from the killer, or got saved on a hook, because I have big survivor balls with NM and will just do stuff the killer can't stop me from doing unless they pay attention to me.

I can do totems right in their face as they chase someone. If you are being chased by a killer and the see me on the totem, what do you think a killer will do? I will make them come ALL THE WAY TO ME and grab me off the totem. I will do gens right next to the killer in a chase. If even for a moment they acknowledge me, the guy they were chasing gets away. I don't even have to always take a hit, I just do things in front of the killer to force them to come to me. I will sabo an event hook right in front of a killer to make them pay attention to me. If the killer chooses to ignore me guess what? Totems gone, hooks gone, gens done, or you give me a hook. Those are your choices as killer when I'm in your game. You want that guy, no you get me unless you want me to kill your Ruin then sure, keep chasing the guy.

Does it work every game? No, not when I'm solo, but it works enough that it's worth it. Another example of things you can do with big NM balls. LF chasing me around Ironworks. I drop the unsafe pallet near the window and stand there. LF mindgames HIMSELF for 20 seconds with chainsaw trying to get me to jump. But I am NM guy, I will just stand there until he chainsaws me. A normal survivor is looking to escape and live, they will jump and try to mindgame the killer. I do nothing but stand there and wait for the hit. Killers NEVER realize this and waste tons of time trying to mind game someone that is just waiting to die. This is the power of NM.

No, this is the power of playing in a utopian Survivor world where the Killer is mentally challenged and does exactly what you want.

You are also still not getting it. I can take 3 hits. If all of those hits were on obsession, and each one would have wasted DS, well I'm dead (shocker), gates are powered, killer technically caught obsession 3 times but they have 0 hooks and DS is still in play. It will be REALLY hard to kill anyone else at that point, if you hook anyone you have to hard camp for a while which means survivors can make a few attempts, and if they have BT that's 1k on NM guy and 3 escape.

If it takes a Killer five gens to smack and hook 3 times then you are going against atrociously bad Killers.

SMH. Dude. Killer is chasing SOMEONE ELSE. But at the end of a chase instead of getting that guy, he gets me. If killer gets greedy and wants the guy I can keep taking hits until I bleed out (which is like 20 minutes if I keep getting up) or he hooks me. I force the killer to tunnel me first so that everyone else has 3 hooks and DS still when there is maybe 1 gen left to do. How do you not understand how powerful that is?!?

If I do my job right when it counts, then killer can't mori anyone when gates are powered even if he won chases, because his reward at the end of every chase was ME.

Again, it sounds like you’re playing against really stupid and terrible Killers if you’re able to consistently pull off something that difficult and suicidal. • Me and @Nickenzie worked together to rework No Mither entirely and we both think it’s much better than current NM while still rising to the occasion of “challenge Perk/one hit down”.

    No Mither:

•You suffer constantly from the “Beaten In” status effect, which has the same effect as Exposed but activates Perks triggered by being injured.
•While injured or dying, you don’t leave pools of blood and grunts of pain are reduced by 30/40/50% at any time.
•Grants the ability to fully recover from the Dying State.
•While recovering and staying still/recovering and staying still/recovering, your bleedout meter does not go down.
•After the match, for every pip you earned gain a bonus 5/10/15 Iridescent Shards.

    Here’s a better idea:

Time your Dead Hard so that the Killer misses his lunge on the guy and bait him into going for you. That way you’ve helped the guy out without immediately forcing yourself to die. You may both get to live. Plus it stalls much better than just immediately suiciding to save a dude.

No see, if killer hooks me because of Kindred my whole team will optimize. If we are a group were are even more optimized because we can talk to each other too. I can sit on the hook until just before phase 2, and everything will get done really fast. Totems will go gens will pop. You can see people coordinating even though they are all solo players. Where NM fails is when other survivors take hits for NM guy, when they should just let killer take the hook. If he does it's good for everyone. If not, it's still good I can get myself up and do gens.

Which do you think is better for the rest of the team: the Killer being distracted with you as you’re running him along, or the Killer being free to move around and get stuff done as you’re sitting immobilized and disabled? Kindred’s usefulness is completely and utterly outshined by SWF anyway, which you don’t need to do any sort of grinding to unlock.

A hit that would normally succeed would still hit you but act as if it missed. Time your DH right so that the invulnerability window impedes the Killer’s lunge and bails the other Survivor out.

    huh thats new for me.

I found out through making mistakes and dashing in narrow areas. It’s not possible to dash through the Killer, only around them. Likewise, they can’t hit people through you as you’re dashing.

The only case where you don’t seem to have collision is dashing through Trapper traps. But because you can dash over them, I’m pretty sure they’re not related to your hitbox the same way that regular attacks and physical objects are. I’m not a game designer, so I don’t have smarts in this field.
