How should anybody decide how valuable a perk is? For example: Iron Maiden is great for Huntress but weak for pretty much everyone else. Infectious Fright is great for Nurse but needless for Doc, etc.
I'd prefer it if the perks would simply get adjusted so that they all are balanced.
-
@TreemanXD Thank you! <3
-
Usually, genrush starts by all survivors working on several gens. While one surv is being chased, the other 3 survs would work on their gens without severe overheating penalty.
When the scenario "first hook, 3 gens done" happens, it's Game Over for the killer in most cases.
-
@NurseMainBTW Actually not a bad idea at all.
-
Something from another genre. Pokémon Sword & Shield is coming in November, for example.
-
@RatDBD Ah okay, thanks for clarifying! A well-thought 2nd objective would be such a great addition to the game! ^^
-
Of course! I love this game and I want it to get better and be successful for more years.
-
@thrawn3054 That would be an indirect nerf to hex totems, especially NOED and Devour Hope, since survivors would look for them much more.
Also more important: If survivors want, totems are cleansed fast. When I play in a full SWF group, often 1 guy is responsible for totems and deals with them. That's done pretty quick and doesn't give the killer enough of the much needed additional time.
-
@RatDBD Take a look at totems: Cleansing them is voluntary and in most cases they aren't being cleansed, even though it wouldn't take a lot of time and the threat of NOED would be eliminated. I think a 2nd objective has to be obligatory.
Another positive effect: A 2nd objective would not only help with balance, it would also give a new impulse to those who have been playing DbD for a long time now.

@Blueberry said:
The problem is that survivors rely too heavily on pallets and windows to survive. This is why it's very difficult to nerf them by how much they need.
Survivors need more alternate ways to survive so that we can touch the windows and pallets appropriately.
This said, we can also go a completely different route. Instead of lessoning the amount of time survivors can waste, they can also finally implement the extra survivor objectives we've been wanting. This would let the survivors still waste a lot of killer time, but now the killer would have more time to waste.
Or just maybe a mix of the two.
@Blueberry Reworking all the maps would take many, many months, even if the devs would put priority on it. A 2nd objective could be implemented much easier and faster, that's why I'm such a fan of a 2nd objective.
A 2nd objective would also give a new impulse to long-time players.
In the end, implementing a 2nd objective would not mean that map reworks have to be abandoned.
-
@TWiXT I suggested something similar, but with putting gas in gens before you repair them. You can take a look here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1
(@TreemanXD Sorry that I keep posting this link here. It just fits the topic so well.)
-
@DudeDelicious I never said that you don't play M1 killers at all. But you obviously don't play against very good survivor groups.
You can watch any good killer streamer. Even those very good guys don't win with Freddy if they are up against a good survivor team. It's clear for everybody to see.

-
@DudeDelicious You should play as a M1 killer against good survivor groups. You stand no chance.
I'm a survivor main, I play at high ranks. We absolutely need a 2nd objective for survivors.
-
First: Glad to hear that you realized that M1 killers are too weak against good survivors. :)
Concerning the main part: Blocking the window after 2 fast vaults sounds could work. Skilled survivors should still be able to make the chase last for quite some time.
The goal however should be well designed maps. (And don't forget, guys: Well designed maps are one thing. Another thing is that a 2nd objective is also needed.)
-
@TreemanXD @MrsPiggyIsSoSneaky Glad you guys like it!
@NMCKE I think Ruin could stay the way it currently is, instead new perks could be added for this 2nd objective. Your suggestion could be a new perk (I would change it a bit, it sounds a tad too powerful).

Actually it's a fact that there is NO good or strong killer at all (except nuse tbh). Killers only get hooks/kills because survivors make mistakes. You won't get any kills against a well organised SWF team (even without voice comm). But you will mostly 4K against potatoe survivors, that's why playing solo surv is mostly frustrating af. And that's the point, killers are used to their poatoe 4Ks but when they lose against people with brain they come here crying in the forum. But yes, toxicity is still a big problem and I hate to play against those people either.
@megdonalds You described the situation correctly and then somehow got the wrong conclusion. Killers don't want their potatoe 4ks, they want a fair chance winning.
A "very good" killer should win against a group of "good" survivors, that would be balanced. But that's not the reality, so things have to change.

If we keep asking then it is possible.
Exactly. The devs showed several times that they are listening to reasonable feedback. I'm pleasantly surprised how quick MoM is getting its adjustment, for example.
-
@DingDongs I suggested something like this. You can take a look here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1
-
@thekiller490490 There are no paragraphs.
-
@TreemanXD I had to play kind of powerless Freddy once. That was when the survivors appeared as giant monster blobs instead of their normal skins.
-
@GrootDude said:
@Tsulan I play Freddy without his power at R1. :P
@TreemanXD Locker grabs op.
-
It would be easier to read and discuss if you would split this up in several threads, one perk per discussion or two at max. You'll probably get replies that way.
(That doesn't mean that you should open 15 threads now. You can do it over the course of several days.)
-
@Horus Totems are done way too fast. Also, we need a 2nd objective that is obligatory, not voluntary.
-
Yes, we absolutely need a 2nd objective. We can't mention that often enough.
(Btw, here is my concept: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1 )
Longer gen repair times would also do the job in theory, but a 2nd objective would be a lot more fun.
-
@FireHazard We shouldn't have to demand it, yes. In an ideal world, the devs would present us a balanced game. But this isn't how it is, so we have to keep asking for changes.
The devs listened and took changes with MoM, so I have hope that we'll get a 2nd objective as well. We'll have to constantly show them that this is one of the most important problems this game is facing.
-
Regarding the OP: At least MoM is getting changed, so we soon don't have to deal with this anymore. But I'm also angry about how a perk like that could be introduced to the game in the first place.
And the genrush is a big problem. More and more survivors realize how important it is for them to focus on gens and not waste time. Even if the survivors can't loop and go down fast, they will still win because gens are just done too fast. We absolutely need a 2nd objective. (Btw, here is my suggestion for a 2nd objective: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1 )
I think it's important to keep demanding for balance changes. I want this game to get better, more balanced and more fun, and to be successful for a couple more years.
-
@Johnny_XMan You are ignoring arguments. It's not possible to have a discussion this way. Bye.
-
@Johnny_XMan Spirit Fury can be countered by dropping the pallet early. Early drop = no killer stun = Spirit Fury doesn't get activated. That's not a hard concept to grasp. I'm not going to explain it any further.
Also, balance is not only the effect of a perk, balance is all the aspects of a perk combined.
You want to defend the current version of MoM, you are allowed to do so. If you want to ignore valid arguments, you can do so as well. But that also means that it is not possible to have a reasonable discussion.
Edit: typo

Thanks dude. I really like being singled out because I'm just trying to grow my channel. I bet you don't remember all the ttv players who weren't toxic. Confirmation bias.
@edgarpoop Did you try playing without ttv in your name for a while? Is it such a significant help in growing your channel that you stick with it, even if it means that killers treat you differently?
-
@Johnny_XMan My point is: You can't compare a strong, balanced, counter-able perk like Spirit Fury with a super-unbalanced, too powerful, uncounter-able perk like the current MoM.
This is not about that perks have to be counter-able. It's about balance and the current MoM is the opposite of balance. I'm happy when it's gone.
-
@Johnny_XMan You were the one who brought up Spirit Fury.
If you play against experienced survivors, some of them will expect Spirit Fury and drop early. (Similar to people expecting BBQ or NOED and taking precaution.)
And if you play against an SWF group, then after the first time you were able to benefit from the perk, the survivor will tell his teammates that you are running the perk. After that, everybody will drop early.
That's why some players prefer the combination of Enduring + Brutal Strength over Enduring + Spirit Fury.
You can't compare Spirit Fury to MoM, and your definition of a counter is wrong. But as I wrote earlier, MoM is now getting changed in a reasonable way, so no reason to over-discuss this.
Off-topic: If you want to let others know that you replied to them, you should use the "@" tag. Quotes don't give notifications.
-
Ruin + Whispers as must-haves
then something for the chase, at least Enduring, or Enduring + Sprit Fury
Moniter & Abuse or Nurse's Calling are also great on her
-
I'm from the EU. The later it is, the faster I get lobbies as a killer. Sometimes I have to wait quite a while in the afternoon. Lobby times in the evening are usually better.
Right now, I get a lobby fast.
Edit: I'm also playing on PS4.
-
Sometimes you lose because of bugs, unfair "balance" or random teammates doing something stupid, and sometimes you lose simply because you didn't play well.
The thing is: A lot of players don't realize when they lost because of the last reason, that they didn't play well. And then it doesn't matter if they are a streamer or not. A lot of people will write stupid stuff in the after-game chat. Ignore it.
Also keep in mind that you are allowed to dodge a lobby if you see somebody with ttv in their name.
-
@NuclearBurrito "reported for working together with the killer" :P

You can also counter mettle by hitting the survivor one more time.
@Johnny_XMan "Just hit the survivor one more time" - it's not a counter when the player was able to fully benefit from the perk. That's no counter at all.
At least MoM is going to get changed in a reasonable way, so we don't have to discuss this thing anymore.
-
@NuclearBurrito I can't think of a situation where it would make sense for a surv to trap another surv in a corner (that was what the op was talking about).
Forcing another surv to tank a hit for you while being in a chase is something different. ^^
-
If it's done for a longer amount of time, I'm pretty sure it's still bannable.
(The devs changed collision on the basement stairs so that survivors couldn't get trapped for several minutes, despite the existence of the EGC. So it's clear the devs consider this griefing.)
Also: If killers bodyblock you, there are sometimes tactical reasons. A survivor has no tactical reason to block another surv, so that's always trolling.
-
@Johnny_XMan You know you can easily counter Spirit Fury by just dropping the pallet a tad earlier...
-
The effect of MoM is so strong that this perk shouldn't have made it into the game to begin with. At least now, with the condition for this perk to get activated being not easy to achieve, it's in an okay state and can stay that way.
-
Her add-ons shouldn't stack. But if the devs are going to nerf the only killer who has a chance against anything the survivors are bringing into the match, they also have to nerf some of the survivors' things (like insta-heals).
-

Hell no dude she's fine. They balance this game and r20 players. Nurse is THE WORST in lower ranks.
@KaoMinerva You really have a point there. In pretty much all aspects, this game isn't even balanced for green ranks (not even talking about purple & red).
Sure, Omegablink- and 5-Blink-Nurse are too powerful, but if this is going to get adjusted, other things like insta-heals also have to get adjusted.
-
Other companies are consulting with pro players, so why not? In the group of Fog Whisperers there are surely some players who would be fit for giving advice.
-
I actually like "babysitting". Can we establish this as the new term instead of "camping"?
-
@Andreyu44 That would motivate survs to focus on gens and let their teammates die on the hook.
The thing is, if the amount of bonus bloodpoints is too high, it will influence the way the game is played too much. You could see that happen in the past when there were special events.
At the moment, we have "only" 100% bloodpoint bonus for WGLF and there are already people who don't play the game properly (and just yolo farm with BT). If WGLF would give more bonus bp, this problem would intensify, no matter which way you get the stacks.
-
@Andreyu44 If you farm somebody with Borrowed Time, it's still farming and hurts the farmed survivor a lot, if the killer doesn't go for the unhooker.
-
@Andreyu44 It got removed for a reason.
-
@Tsulan It would have been fine if the devs had let him keep this ability. It's not like Wraith is some super strong killer.
To make Freddy better, it's essential that he keeps his 115% speed.
-
@Tsulan Isn't Wraith's inbuilt bloodhound gone?
