It takes ages for both roles to find a lobby. My guess is that BHVR's servers can't handle the high amount of inquiries well. (Due to the 2x BP event, more people than usual are playing.)
-
You can also bring a map to find totems. No need to use a perk slot.
-
What I'd like to see is a small change to DS. It's supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk. Therefore, the perk should get deactivated when another survivor is getting downed + hooked after the DS user has been unhooked. Currently, DS also punishes killers when they down survivors fast.
-
Why do people have a problem with crouch grabbing Pig? She is not invisible, she only has no terror radius. It would be the same like Tier-1-Michael using Monitor & Abuse or any killer using Tinkerer.
-
@IMhereRUN TotH is not supposed to be a fix for bad totem spawns.
-
I've never played "The Warriors", I don't know anything about it. Why would survivors spray paint something on walls? I don't see the connection to DbD and how it would help survivors escaping yet.
-
Killers are complaining because gens are done too fast. Increasing gen repair time would not be exciting, therefore we need a 2nd objective.

we got second objective chest and totems and we all know how this work
@Larcz These are voluntary, not obligatory. I'm talking about an obligatory additional objective.
Also, dealing with totems doesn't take a lot of time. When I play SWF, usually one player is responsible for totems and cleanses them pretty quick. Not enough additional time for the killer.
-
As long as we don't have a 2nd objective for survivors, Ruin is a necessity against good survivor groups to buy the killer some additional time.
And it's absolutely reasonable to ask for totems to not spawn right next to survivors or gens or in the open field.
-
Prayer Beads are a problem because of gen grabs. The killer can hear the surv working on a gen while the surv has no indication the Spirit is coming. Her footsteps are not loud enough to be heard above the gen sounds.
I'm not counting Spine Chill and Premonition as counters since these are perks you'd have to equip before knowing which opponent you are facing.
Prayer Beads are usually not too big of a problem for a SWF since the survs can keep eath other informed about what the Spirit is doing. That leaves the solo survs. The only thing they can do to avoid getting grabbed is gen tapping. Not a real counter since it's a big time-waster.
I'll point out when something on the survivors' side is unbalanced like the current, soon-to-be-changed MoM or insta-heals. But I also won't deny when there is something unbalanced on the killers' side.
-
@Aven_Fallen I mostly agree, but I'd say let's remove the offering screen completely. Some people dc because of secret offerings. Let's not show any offerings (secret or not), then there is no "reason" to dc during the loading screen.
-
@DudeDelicious I took a look at your youtube vids and now I'm confused. You mentioned here in the forum several times that you are a highrank killer, yet in all your videos you are playing on green and yellow ranks.
-
@DudeDelicious I don't see why the survivors shouldn't be able to get gens done against that build. You don't even use one single perk that helps you in a chase, good survivors should be able to loop you for quite some time.
I really want to see those matches. Start streaming or recording + uploading them on youtube, please. Seriously.
-
@Atrushan88 Yeah, the only way to avoid playing with people like this is playing full SWF.
-
That also happens at red ranks.
It's just how solo surv works. Sometimes you get good teammates on green ranks who play almost as efficient as a SWF and sometimes you get not-so-good teammates at red ranks. Full of surprises.
-
@Atrushan88 That's not the scenario the op is talking about.
This is about the frustration when a match is winnable for 3 survivors, only one gen is left to be done, but they won't win because one person isn't working and camping the hatch instead, waiting for the other two to die.

Awesome story. I also like this.
My 4 group SWF stomper is:
Freddy.
Perks: Discordance, Surveillance, PGTW, Overcharge.
Add-ons: Z Block, Unicorn Block.
Offering: Lery’s.
I call it my anti repair build, or anti gen rush. It never fails to amuse me how much the group struggles to get just 1 gen repaired, maybe 2 at best before i’ve worn them down and killed them all.
@DudeDelicious Overcharge on Freddy? This is a wild story.

While perk is active and you are in dying state, it will take twice as long to lose DS.
"While perk is active and you are in dying state, it will take twice as long to lose DS."
I'm pretty sure the devs had slugging in mind when they decided on the 60 second time frame. It's enough time for your teammates to pick you up or the killer loses a significant amount of time if he camps you while you are on the ground.
"If different Survivor is hooked again, DS will immediately deactivate."
Absolutely. DS is supposed to be an anti-tunnel-perk and should not punish killers for finding + downing survivors fast.
-
It's always sad to see when a group of survivors doesn't get all the gens done simply because one survivor decides to not work and camp the hatch instead. I've seen this as a survivor and as a killer countless times.
If it enrages you too much, you should play SWF. That also eliminates the problem with random teammates dc'ing and ruining the game.
I also suggest to always bring Bond if you don't play full SWF.
-
Sure, why not? You're not obligated to, obviously. But if she is a total beginner and clearly has no chance winning, it would be nice if you gave her the chance to practice blinks.
-
@RatDBD Thank you for mentioning my thread here! ^^
In general, I think we need a 2nd objective for balance reasons, to give the killer more time.
We also need a 2nd objective to give the game a new element. A lot of long-time-players don't play as much as they used to or are teaking a break from DbD because they have been doing the same thing for 2-3 years now. A new objective would spice things up and bring those veterans back.
-
I like that Feng got a cute outfit. I'd love to see more cute skins for the girls.
-
Great discussion title.
-
@Redd Oh cool. Where did the devs mention that?
-
"From June 14th, 2019 to June 18th, 2019"
The devs haven't added the exact time of the day yet.
-
@Tensor It's not the killer's fault when one or multiple survivors are dc'ing, either. It's nice if the killer gives the hatch but I wouldn't expect it.
dc's are a problem for everybody. Like you, I hope the next ban wave comes soon.
-
@C3Tooth I agree, It should not be obligatory to run Ruin if killers want to have a chance winning.
I also think that a new objective would be more exciting than new perks. (That doesn't mean that I don't like new perks, don't get me wrong.)
@Kenshin Don't be that pessimistic. Think of the Halloween event where the survivors had to harvest the big orange wobble blobs. The devs the did all that programming just to give us an event. Implementing a 2nd objective would be absolutely doable. I guess the devs just aren't sure yet whether they are going to give us a 2nd objective or not.
-
@thesuicidefox I'm not saying that a killer should get a 4k if he plays perfectly and the survivors play also perfectly. It's also not realistic to say that any player will make no mistakes at all during a match. The problem lies within the severity of mistakes that have to be made in order to affect the outcome of the match.
At the moment, survivors have to make really severe mistakes in order to lose the match. A couple of small mistakes on the survivors' side are not enough for the killer to win.
Making it more difficult to get the last gen done will prolong the match, but in most of the cases it is not going to change the outcome of the match. Again, I have to bring up the example with the 3-Gen-Doc.
Skill should decide the outcome of the match. For survivors, this means evading the killer or keeping the killer busy in a chase. For killers, this means finding survivors and downing + hooking + killing them as fast as possible. Skill is not repairing a gen.
A 2nd objective should give the killer and survivors an adequate amount of time to test their strenghts and skills.
Btw, I'm a survivor main. I just want to have a fair and fun game for everyone.
-
The game should be balanced for SWF. Solo players should get a lot more information so that they get closer to SWF-level.
-
I have to smile everytime I see the trashbag next to one of the open doorways at Mother's Dwelling. It looks like a crouching Claudette in her default clothes. The first couple of times when I played killer on that map, I fell for it.
-
@NMCKE I'm not passionate about keeping Ruin the way it is after a 2nd objective gets introduced. I don't feel like changing it is necessary but I'm also not against it.
Regarding your suggestion: I like the idea itself, I would just lower the amount of seconds. I'm afraid it would be too powerful otherwise.
-
The more experienced survivors you face, the more you will get looped. You need perks that help you in a chase. Try Enduring + Spirit Fury.
Since he has a small terror radius, Monitor & Abuse is standard for him. It can make for a nice combination with Nurse's Calling.
But keep in mind that you will not have the same results as with Nurse or Billy. Myers just isn't that powerful and depends on the survivors making mistakes more than the other two killers.
-
I'd be happy if the devs would let us have 3 perks in the bloodwebs from which we could unlock 2 per web (at the higher levels, maybe starting at lvl 35 or 40).
-
Please no. I want to play on as many different maps as possible.
-
@Warlock_2020 The majority of people here is correctly speaking of a "second objective", not a "secondary" one.
We need a 2nd objective for survivors for balance reasons.
Another positive effect: A 2nd objective would bring a new aspect to the game, a new impulse for those who have been playing this game for 2 or 3 years. A lot of the veterans are playing less than they used to or stopped playing at all. We could get these players back to the game.
-
@thesuicidefox "Mistakes that become more common if their objective becomes more difficult to do."
But that's the issue. The killer still depends on the survivors making severe mistakes.
That's what bothers killers, that's why we are talking about adding a 2nd objective to the game: Currently, killers feel helpless because they will only win if the survivors make really big mistakes. A 2nd objective should change that and not follow the idea of "the killer can only win if the survivors play bad".
-
I like the basic idea when survivors have to collect something and bring it to the gen for a 2nd objective. As @TreemanXD mentioned above, I've made a thread with a suggestion that follows that direction.
In general, a 2nd objective should not be a perk or be tied to totems.
A 2nd objective should be a new element to the game. That will give longtime-players a new impulse and keep them interested in the game resp. bring a lot of players back to the game who have left because they've been doing the same thing for 3 years. (Also, of course, it will help with balance since it gives killers more time to do their job.)
-
Yes, it's bad RNG. In the higher bloodlevels, we should have 3 perks appear.
-
Collecting and delivering severed body parts? Ewwww... I'll pretend we are talking about collecting and delivering magical gems. :)
I see some problems: Kills and sacrifices are treated differently. You probably had moris in mind when making this, but think of Devour Hope or the Tombstone add-ons which are not easy to get kills with.
RNG: Some penalties are a lot more severe than others. I don't like it if RNG is a deciding factor in a match.
This concept is also currently a bit complex, I'm afraid too complex for new players. Maybe it can get simplified?
Biggest potential problem: In some situations, survivors might be encouraged to let their teammates die on the hook to get rid of the penalty, especially in the endgame. More likely to happen with solo survs than with SWF.
-
@Judith I was talking in this specific context, so "no reason to dc anymore during the loading screen".
-
The offering screen should be removed entirely. Survivors dc because of secret offerings (=moris) all the time. Some people also dc for other "reasons" like a map they don't like.
No offerings shown = no "reason" to dc anymore
-
@thrawn3054 I've suggested a 2nd objective; its base idea is also to collect (gas in this case) and bring it to gens. If you want to, you can take a look here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65083/concept-for-a-2nd-objective-for-survivors/p1
-
@DudeDelicious What I am writing is not offensive. You are basically claiming that you are playing better than every killer main streamer. You are describing how you win scenarios that none of those insanely good players can win. So I'd suggest that you should start streaming yourself and show us how it's done.
-
@Johnny_XMan Since you are mentioning your own experience as a killer with MoM: Which killer(s) do you play and on which rank?
-
When talking about the introduction of a 2nd objective, people usually worry about Hillbilly and Nurse being too strong.
Keep in mind: Billy is still loopable. With the current state of the game, Billy will also lose against good groups, no matter how good the Billy player is.
Nurse: While base Nurse is fine, her add-ons need some nerfs anyway (no matter if there is a 2nd objective or not). If there aren't such things as Omegablink- and 5-Blink-Nurse anymore, a 2nd objective will also work with Nurse.
-
@NightmareReborn If your matches at highranks with Billy go well, that's great for you. But Billy is still loopable and if you are up against very good survivors, you are going to lose even with him. Even a Nurse can get genrushed badly and won't get a win against these kind of groups.
You can watch any of the very good streamers. It's clear to see that they don't get easy 4ks, far from it, and that even those killers will struggle because of the current unbalanced state of DbD.
-
@thesuicidefox When all survivors are still alive when there is only one gen left to be done, it IS pretty much Game Over for the killer. At this point, the survivors would have to make some severe mistakes to still lose.
The killer needs to have at the very least one kill when 4 gens are done, 2 kills would be better. Trying to defend one gen against a group of survivors isn't fun, neither for the killer nor for survivors. (Again, think of the 3-gen-Doc.) It usually results in 30-minute-matches or even worse. Also, good survivors will keep the positions of the gens in mind and not create a bad endgame scenario for themselves.
-
@C3Tooth Keep in mind that survivors are more likely to find the Ruin totem by accident when they have to run/sneak over the map to collect + deliver the gas. Ruin doesn't have to be too powerful combined with a 2nd objective.
I agree that the suggestion to rework Ruin to give Exposed status while carrying gas is a bit too powerful. We are now going into the very detail when we are talking about potential perks for this suggestion for a 2nd objective, but that's fine.
I think it could be possible for a perk to keep the aura reveal for a couple of seconds, as @NMCKE suggested, and say the Exposed status is applied for like 5 seconds. (Similar to Iron Maiden.)
-
@NightmareReborn Play a killer like Doc, Trapper, Leatherface or Freddy on highranks against good survivors. You stand no chance, even with Ruin. Genrush is definitely a big issue.
-
@thesuicidefox Genrush is when gens are done too fast for the killer to keep up. A good genrush is founded on survivors working at several gens at the beginning of the game.
As I wrote above, when the survs managed to have 3 gens done when the first person gets hooked, they have already rushed and pretty much won the game.
If the game focusses on defending the last gen, that means abandoned chases, very long matches in general, and at least for me personally not a great gameplay experience. (I'm thinking of the 3-Gen-Doc tactic.)
I'd prefer to give the killer more time for chases and hooks (= 2nd objective for survivors).
