The old DL was a little unfair. You really had to bring a mori to get the full effect. The new one is way better. I think it does still have some problems, mostly the obsession not being affected AND getting a boost.
It was not necessary to bring a mori. 3 hooks = 25% action speed penalty
New Dying Light: 8 hooks = 24% action speed penalty
I don't see how the new DL is in any way better for the killer.

Sadly this is true. Killer have a really strong offering (moris), but survivors don't. I know that the game is already survivor biased, but to be fair there must be a strong offering
How about making the Murky Reagent an ultra rare offering? It's super strong on some maps. SWFs can easily combine it with a map offering of their choice.

Because this is a game. It is meant to be fun. Camping and tunneling do have their time and place. However, it is NOT a fun way to play. Also, the new Dying Light is arguably FAR better than the old version.
The new Dying Light is far better for the survivors than the old one. Which is a problem, since it is a killer perk.

You are right, bust in this case the problem are the invisible claudettes
With the old dark lighting, it wasn't only the Claudettes. I don't know how long you've been playing killer, but every survivor with dark clothing was able to become a Claudette with the New Moon Bouquet on certain parts of the maps.
If you want to hide, you don't need the Bouquets. You can dress super colorful, just avoid the LOS, that's all.
-
You complain about tunneling. If you need a tool against tunneling, use DS. If you want the benefit, you have to use the perk slot. You can't have it for free.

Hiding is a strategy, btw killers (as an offering) have moris, survivors don't have something to kinda instantly repair a gen.
Even if the game is survivor sided, from the offerings' prospective it is not fair imo
Nothing against hiding. Hiding takes skill when you have to avoid being in the killer's LOS.
But when it is just so dark that you can simply sit down in the open field and the killer still can't see you, this has nothing to do with skill.
Also the old BNP could insta-repair gens (like an insta-heal with one click).
-
Don't use coin offerings as killer. You want the survivors to waste time on chests instead of spending their time on generators.

This game is far away from being competitive.
"competitive" does not mean "e-sports". It's a PvP game, that makes it competitive.

Well, the old bouquets made it harder to see for both
Which is why they got removed.
If you want more of a horror feeling for the survivor side, that's fine. If you want hiding in plain sight to come back, that's not okay.

What do you mean?
You want the maps to be darker. Should only the survivors suffer from a worse vision so that it is more "spooky" for them?
Or should it also be darker for the killer, which would make it a lot harder to spot/find survivors?

I always run Franklin’s when I see a key, makes my life a lot easier, works against insta-heals too. ;)
Franklin's doesn't work at all against keys. Just pick up the key again. Just did it yesterday, no problem at all. Free escape.
Keys absolutely need to get changed.
-
Should only the survivors be affected by the weak lighting? Or is this a suggestion to make it harder for the killers to spot the survivors?
-
I'll watch some streamers playing the game and then decide whether I'll give it a try.
-
Moris are your friends. (And if you notice in a match that the survivors are really bad, you don't have to use the mori.)
Also try slugging. I don't know which killer you are maining, but Infectious Fright is a great perk on most killers.

Well, that's why we ought to modify it so it fulfills its role as an anti-tunneling perk.
Would be fine by me.

You clearly are in rank 15 if you have this mindset, they camped the hook with the remaining 3 generators.
So you did the gens in the wrong order, set yourselves up for a 3-gen-scenario and a survivor gets hooked next to the 3 gens - where is the killer supposed to go? To the other side of the map where there aren't any gens to defend and let you have a free unhook on top?
How you describe it, you made bad tactical decisions and lost because of it. Don't blame the killer for playing smart. Learn from it and avoid these scenarios in your future matches.
-
Could we stop calling DS an "anti-tunnel perk"? It's not an anti-tunnel perk, it's a one-minute-immunity perk.
-
This is a PvP game. Don't blame people for trying to win. And if you take a look at high ranks, what is going on? Multiple DS, toolboxes, insta-heals etc. - how bad are the survivors supposed to play so that a Doc could win against these teams?
-
@HellCatJane I would prefer it if we had stricter rules considering which behaviour is allowed in-game.
-
Toxic people and bullies are not going to follow these rules, sadly.
-
It's super boring, but you know you have to slug in this situation. It's bad game design.
-
Some players always put the blame on the killer, no matter who made the mistake. Of course, not all players are like that.

I've actually haven't had many problems with the new friends system :P
I've only crashed once but I do run into a problem where my friend joins a lobby but I'm stuck in the queue screen XD
You are lucky then! I had so many problems! 😭

The majority of my survivors are always on gens and loop, they belong in high ranks, a lot of killers and survivors don’t belong in high ranks tbh, whenever I see a killer never chase me because I loop I know that he hasn’t faced good survivors much, especially when all my teammates loop and he just chases no one.
Just because you don’t find good survivors doesn’t mean other people never face them.
Oh, I face also good survivors. I'm just realistic. You need not-so-good survivors to win with a weak killer.
I know we have different opinions on this topic. If one day you'll be able to upload/stream your killer gameplay with weak killers, let me know. I would like to see your matches very much.
-
Agreed. It made matchmaking/lobby creating a lot buggier. Had to restart my game like 7 times today. That's too much.
-
Bonus points for making the killer ragequit? Very bad idea.
Survivors should keep their offerings when the killer dc's, though.

A lot of people do well in high ranks with the killers deemed weak, the game really isn’t balanced around low ranks.
I thought it was until I started playing killer a lot.
People do well in high ranks with weak killers because they are facing survivors who don't belong in the high ranks. I am facing red rank survivors who can't loop at all, run in straight lines and you would think they are rank 16. Of course you are going to win against these players.
-
Huntress too high. Legion deserves his own bottom tier.
-
To be fair: Why does Nurse get nerfed? This game is not balanced for high-rank, it's balanced somewhere for the lower mid-ranks. Following this logic, Nurse doesn't need nerfs. Yet she is getting some, because the high-rank players are too powerful with her. Really inconsequent.
-
I would prefer it if the offering screen would get totally removed. But at least remove the "secret" offerings, agreed.

If they try to 360, do the respect tactic which is waiting for them to do their juke before you swing, hit after their done.
Learn the lunge and swing, sometimes you make mistake, stuff happens for better wording, use Unrelenting for the threat, any FOV increase may help with perks like Monitor and Abuse and Shadowborn.
I almost completely agree, except for Monitor & Abuse: This perk only increases your FOV when you are outside of a chase.
-
Shadowborn helps with landing hits. Practice when to lunge and when to use short hits. Meanwhile use Unrelenting.

I mean it still doesn't change the fact that the killer at the end of the day will inevitably get the survivor at some point. You have to be trying as a killer to fail a chase most of the time.
As I said above, some loops consume too much time.
On some maps there exist spots where the killer has to abandon the chase and let the survivor go because otherwise he would lose too much time and as a consequence would lose the entire match. Not the survivor's fault, it's just really bad map design.
-
The problem is the amount of time a good survivor can buy their team in a chase with how fast the survivors can do their objective.
Also a lot of loops are just super-boring and frustrating for the killer since the killer can't try any mindgames and just has to run after the survivor. That's an issue with the map design.
-
I'm also on PS4. Survivor lobbies are currently instant, but often the matchmaking/searching for lobby is bugged and restarting the game consumes a lot of time.
-
Don't yolo-save in front of the killer without BT. If you play against Freddy, don't be asleep.
-
The hatch mechanic exists to avoid hostage-taking scenarios.
And of course it punishes a killer for doing well and - depending on how well that one survivor performed - sometimes rewards a bad survivor.
We need at least a change to keys.
-
Yeah, you can't use mindgames against the OoO user. But as you said, Freddy isn't affected that hard by Borrowed Time anymore. I think it's an okay trade.

For me the problem isn't the strength, it's that it's not fun to play against.
You say the syringe is the one that should be the priority for change. Personally I think the syringe add-on would be fine if it worked only on other survivors, because that actually creates interesting gameplay. Self-instahealing does not create interesting gameplay and should be removed for that reason.
Why is it "interesting gameplay" if you down somebody and during your wipe-off animation another survivor gives the downed person a syringe?
-
Agreed.
The role that needs more players should also get bonus bloodpoints to promote a good survivor:killer ratio.
-
@Avocet Did they just farm you in front of the killer? (Did you have the impression that they were not worried about the killer?)
Or did they try not to farm you, maybe unhook you with Borrowed Time, try to tank a hit for you?
-
My guess would be that it also depends on how the other survivors acted. Was it a normal game until you died and then the killer simply decided to farm with the remaining survivors? Or was it more like the survivors + killer worked together against you to get you out of the match as fast as possible before they started to farm?
A reply from the mods would be really interesting.
-
I'm also having these issues. (I'm on PS4.)
-
May I ask where you are from?
I'm from the EU (also PS4) and had no problem with survivor queues when I was playing a couple of hours ago.
Edit: Sorry for the bold font. I have no idea why it is this way.
-
As long as the devs don't buff the weaker killers (or another strong killer gets implemented), this most likely isn't going to change.
-
@Bravo0413 said:
At least the game still ends.... I think??
It ends faster than you think!
-
I was pleasantly surprised by the queue times. Killer lobbies take long, but that's to be expected at a bloodpoint event. Survivor queues were fast, which surprised me a lot since queue times haven't been good in the last days/weeks.

Does it happen often enough that you hate it? (Genuinely asking)
I play killer mostly and only farm during these type of events after daily is complete. I don't typically farm during normal game mode so was curious what the beef was. Do you run into farmers a lot during a typical game?
I rarely have farming games outside of events. During bp events, there is more of them, of course.
It doesn't matter to me how often I get these matches, I just don't want to play boring games in my free time.
-
@Attackfrog said:
I just want to know what your issue with farming is?
Do you hate easy bloodpoints?
You hate low stress, easy matches where the killer allows you to gain bloodpoints?
I just can't see why anyone would complain about this...
I dislike farming, so here is my explanation: It's super boring. I'm playing a game because I literally want to play a game. I don't want to "play" an repair-and-unhook simulator.
-
@FuelSauce said:
It should be borrowed time but when you unhook the survivor it applies it to you instead. Basically splitting the old BT into two perks.
No. It's totally fine that perks can protect the person who gets unhooked, but the unhooker has to stay vulnerable. Otherwise unhooking would become an almost no-risk-involved endeavour.
