...to just breathe. There's so much frustration and anger going around about these changes, and I think it's just one big group mentality of people hopping on the "they killed the game" bandwagon.
No, they didn't kill the game.
From my survivor perspective: "Queue times are so long now, killers are camping/tunneling/using NOED more/ so much more now, etc.." I sit around rank 4/5 and my queues have been instant since the update, and I haven't had instant queues in a long time. Killers have always camped/tunneled/whatever, you're just noticing it more now and pinning it on the ruin change. Killers should be aggressive. They're... killers? Switch up your perks if you feel the need. Also, maybe try cleansing a totem when you find them on the map rather than only caring about finishing generators so there won't be a NOED at the end.
From my killer perspective: "Nothing to stop gens now, so many toolboxes, can't win, etc." Admittedly, I don't play killer as much, but I usually sit around purple ranks with killer as well. I don't even have ruin as a perk on killer and I have managed to get to purple rank without it. Many people play at red rank without it, and without camping/tunneling/slugging/whatever. Calm down and learn how to apply gen pressure properly (yes I know, some maps are huge, but that's a map problem, not a perk problem.) Survivors have always brought tool boxes, you're just noticing it more now.
In case you forgot, this is supposed to be a PvP survival horror game. It's not supposed to be a walk in the park. You're not supposed to be able to just sit and do gens without having killers after you, and you're not supposed to be able to just easily slug a survivor within 5 seconds of finding them. Also, the new ruin? Super powerful if you know how to apply gen pressure. If it stays up, it can completely ruin (teehee) a game for survivors as long as you keep them off gens, as you're supposed to. If it gets cleansed early on, well. Then you're just in the same boat as you were when the old ruin was cleansed early, aren't you?
We don't have time to breath in matches anymore :) People want to bully others.
The can just
Tired of being civil & open for discussion when these matters of balance, bugs & matchmaking are treated like jokes.

Oh I'm sorry mister Demo, didn't want to ruin your Gen work.....

I like how Lery's looks...but I hate its rectangle design amd how many small pocket dead ends I seem to bump into. I don't think I can meme/have fun like I could with old Lery's...we'll see tho.
Doctor's new music, I hate it.... Its obnoxious as both sides.
-
I would love if Pig had an add-on that when a Survivor is searching a Jigsaw Box, if it's a flase one...they'd get the Broken Status... Purple or Pink add-on seems fair enough.
Her Ambush really needs a rework, the Lion Roar is beyond unnecessary for how it's only ever a simple lunge attack.
She needs a slightly faster crouch or being able to stand back up a bit faster
-
Am I alone in thinking that all of this, the complaints about matchmaking, balance discrepancies, sound issues, bimugs & glitches...are being treated as nothing more than an annoyance by BHVR & those in connection to here? Like a blasie, stock response (whenever given one) "yea yea, we know of these issues....we're looking into it." ?
I just feel there are major concerns that need a more in-depth look & response to us...a public/sticky reply...something
-
Garbage, stressful, demoralizing....done for the day/night. Gonna try again tomorrow and throughout the end of the week...if this is all I continue to get when playing Killer, Im just gonna throw in the towel... I don't care I still made 19-20k ish Points, or if I even nabbed a kill...the way these matches play out just aren't fun, at all

You are not supposed to hear anything as killer. Hence why they nerfed sound, and make new maps very loud (Hawkins, Sanctum, Lery). That's because killer has to earn their hits. Being able to hear survivors would just give you free information with no risk or downside.
(Sarcasm by the way)
I got the sarcasm <3
But seriously....my first time ever on the redesign and my ears were practically ringing when stepping into a few rooms....playing as Spirit too...so yay on that experience of an auditory hell..
I guess my happy place of doing Scratch Mirror Myers on Lery's is never gonna be the same foolish fun I had before...
-
It doesn't, I just hit Green Rank and immediately got these type of matches back to back..... Im about fed up and ready to toss this game in the trash.....
-
Changed my mind after how matches have gone today..... More people DCing than I have ever seen since returning to play....more toxic Survivors and bad matchmaking.....
My thoughts?
-
I'm on console and I could've sworn Ive sacrificed enough Dweets or Megamind Megs for their faces :[ ...hope the faces aren't bugged on console or something
-
I'd still like at LEAST 5 more years of DBD....It still has an allure and fun factor that I cant replace currently.... It literally ia the only game where I can stalk and kill others as notable Horror Movie Icons, as well as some great original characters. It having a nice lore/backstory going on helps, as well as having the fun aspect of Perks and builds....
It just needs the right hands to iron out all the issues & BS that weigh it down....if it just ended...Id be pretty bummed out :/ eventually Id be over it....but I feel the game can have a lot of life to it still.
-
I miss my Lamps to smack :[

Dead Hard, even if its isn't fully reliable, I MUCH prefer not having to hold Sprint Burst or be caught with it exhausted because walking around wastes too much time. Dead Hard can extend a chase, get to a safe loop/pallet or let you dash to the Exit Gate where you may have been downed otherwise.

Came in here like this.....

I had wholly expected them to go through the 4 OG Survivors first, with accompanying Killers with them...in tandem with theit releases. It feels REALLY random to me for Jane to be up next xP

At least you're getting to play. It takes 20+ minutes to find a game on ps4 as survivor.
I play both sides, so I know this pain too...the worst part, just about to reach Green Ranks with Survivor (I play Killer more) and so far matchmaking pits us with Gray Rank Killers...so far (this season) Yellow-Green Ranking...not a single Killer outside Gray ranks...it's just..ugh
-
I play on console, so I dont have to bother with endgame chat...I do however try to message people after a game for a good play, if they let me go, or if they were good sports due to people DCing etc.... I'll write a short but nice message and if they respond back in kind, I'll wish em luck.
People who "GG EZ, LUL" are the bane of videogames and I have no patience or respect to someone who wants to be a douchebag.... Those types of people already display that behaviour during a match....extending that to chat/messages is ridiculous
-
Id say just stay away...I recently came back and within a week of playing I'm already starting to get fed up with the issues surrounding this game...chief among them matchmaking. 3 games in a row, all different Survivors...went like this
-
Meh, in all honesty, ######### this game.... It can be fun but there's so much aggravation and bullshit surrounding it from the priority of changes/fixes, to the stupid matchmaking, to how terrible the playerbase really is. So tired of the immaturity players present on both sides.
Tired of the bugs and things not accurately working... finished a game with 3 Gens I worked & finished on...the Challenge I had selected only counted one....*slow claps*. Or how I randomly stopped running in one match, had another where a Skillcheck stayed on my screen throughout a match....
-
As a Killer player...Decisive Strike is fine where it is...this game already addressed the issues old DS + Insta Heals brought to matches & chases....
This game has way bigger problems than this Perk, let alone any Perk atm

Yeah, my first and only match as a killer placed me with a bunch of purple/green ranks. I managed to hit two people the entire match, lol. I couldn't catch nor find these survivors at all. I was incredibly bad, probably worse than the average new player. It didn't help that I didn't really know how to work the killer I chose, either.
So, when the last generator popped I just gave up and started walking aimlessly around the map, waiting for them to leave. And, when they didn't, I went looking for the opened gate to see why.
They were all just there waiting for me. I felt genuine embarrassment as I watched them leave.
I also have really bad anxiety, so I felt like I had to perform well for them and, since they were so above my rank, it sucked when I couldn't.
Maybe it's silly to feel bad about losing a game, but that was just such a terrible experience for me. I'm not going to attempt killer again until matchmaking is sorted out.
I suffer from some anxiety/stage fright thing at times. Repeatedly making mistakes in a single match tanks my morale, which I usually only find when Matchmaking does this to me.. Which is steadily becoming more and more often.
Agaisnt Survivors around my Rank, I do well, even if I get a 2K I usually had a lot of fun, but unbalanced matchmaking ( for either side) just kills the fun...which Killers suffer from more because you have 4 skilled/experienced Survivors dancing around you
-
Nope, not at allllll. Everything is fine, let's take our happy pills, nothing to see here.

At least the survivors are having fun.
It's been like this for about what? 2 months?
Sound seem to be bugged still, now there are some people reporting scratch marks are weird.
If you ask me, I would guess they tried shadow nerfing killer even more, but people just caught on to them.
At this point you are better off looking for a new game.
That's the problem...I bloody love this game when it's good, but it's flaws keep sinking the fun I get....
When I go against Players around my Rank, even if I get a 2K, USUALLY I still had a blast or some fun plays....this here isn't fun at all.
This is what's going to kill DBD if this remains this way.... 3 matches in a row with this bullshit

People who are banned or jailed is due to breaking the rules - you do not have the right to threaten and harass the developers (or the community).
But sadly, from what I've seen, many killer players on this forum would prefer to harass and threaten people.
If they think they are allowed to do what they think is okay; then it would be only fair if someone were to do the same thing to them as well.
"Many Killer players would prefer to harass and threaten people..."
Ah yes, just the Killer players....
-
I have never had it done to me :[ Everyone jus runs away from me or ends up dead
-
Yep, jus how it happens to be a lot of the time. While I normally sit at Purple/Green Rank for Killer, mostly being casual and not playing THAT often enough. I took a break and dropped down back to Gray Ranks and I'm just hitting Green Ranks and it's been almost exclusively Purple & Green Ranks the entire climb. With some sprinkled in similar Ranks to my own, but still...I can't help but think how this experience would be for someone who's not played the game as long as I have, without the experience/knowledge and the tools to somewhat combat matchmaking.
I'll deal with it as best as I can, but seeing more Purple Ranks throughout 3 Rank levels/groups than any other just seems ridiculous. I have been lucky to not get the mass amount of Red Ranks VS lower Ranks that I've seen evidence from others...but I feel that won't last (unless I run into depip peeps)
-
I haven't played her in awhile, I tend to play Michael Myers, Ghost Face, Pig, Spirit and Legion far more often as "Mains" wth Plague, Trapper, Huntress & Wraith as secondary picks...
I used to play her a LOT (practically my pocket Killer) and I do well with her, however I HATED how frame rate could really mess up when teleporting and throwing out a hit...or how some maps would just screw with my fps while moving around...which I found to be almost exclusively when playing Hag. Not to mention the camera swinging jarringly when after teleporting.
Last time I played her was when using her Hallowed Blight outfit, which had a bug where it lagged whenever I put a trap down. I'll eventually get back to playing her, but my games just end up way more fun as the aforementioned Killers and less aggravation when things that should work, jus aren't.
-
Huntress and Clown have so many fantastic cosmetics imo...
-
All of what you gathered!
-
I dunno, I find Head On to be a funny Perk xP So many try to Head On me and miss, or even if they do it's like "Bwhahah, you're mine now!" I can understand if a super coordinated SWF Team or 2000 IQ Randos chain stuns via Decisive Strike, Pallets, Head On & Flashlight Blinds in a single match WOULD create a bad experience for the Killer xP
-
Mmm...I honestly didn't think about Nurse having a Tome and Challenges designed around her.....
*sighs heavily and pours a glass of Scotch-Whiskey*
I'm gonna have a "fun" time traversing that one........
-
Aside from Rancor, nothing technically.... Tho certain Killers/Killer builds that capitalize on the Obsession (such as any build with Play With Your Food) can mean you unwittingly helping the Killer xP
-
I talk all the time out loud when playing this game xD I mean, how can you not?
-
A game where against Ghostface, he kept bouncing between Survivors being too altruistic, eventually my 3 fellow Survivors were slugged and I was injured....down to 2 Gens left....I was able to maneuver around the map and get two of them up, finish one of the Gens, sadly he got one on death hook and the other bled out.
Ghost Face found me, was able to loop Ghost Face well enough for him to lose track of me, hid in a locker (bonus points as Dwight) that was next to an Exit Gate, last person (injured) finished the Gen....I got the gate open and they ran towards my general area, was able to take the hit and the two of us escape. Was almost a sealed desl for the Killer to get a 3k or 4k
-
Michael Myers, Leatherface and Freddy are the ones I like and actively working on (jus recently started with Michael at Prestige 2).
I do like Hag, Nurse & Ghostface a bit...but I dunno if I'm gonna bother Prestiging more than the aforementioned Killers I'm aiming towards. It takes a lot of time & Bloodpoints to do this multiple times.
-
Get BBQ unlocked from Leatherface ASAP (if you don't already have it)..seriously, if ANY person has aspirations to play this game and get invovled in the grind, BBQ is a must to speed things along.
After thst, probably look at which Killers you want to play and what Perks you think you want to go after...After getting Leatherface & Hag to lvl 40, I just went around and leveled every Killer to 40 to get their Perks unlocked, save for Ghostface whom I main and been trying to unlock every Perk on him. Once he has all current Perks, I intend to go down the list of my favs.
Dunno if that's the best way, but getting each Killer leveled up for their teachable perks unlocked & available to play and then focus on one Killer to jus load up on Perks is how I've been having fun.
-
I oddly enough, despite hating how grindy the game can be (with getting Every Killer all Perks), do enjoy the different Tier Levels for Perks. The only time I absolutely hated it was before the changes to Devour Hope & Pop Goes the Weasel tiers, where it was VERY pointless to run them without being Tier 3 Perks.
I just wish the game either had more frequent Bloodpoint Events, a way to trade in unwanted Offerings & Add-ons for Bloodpoints or jus increase BP gains across the board for both Killers & Survivors.
The small changes to the Bloodweb & some Perks have been pretty good, getting 3-4 Perks on a Bloodweb tremendously helps things out.
-
Sheesh this thread...send it back to the Fog, for Entity's sake!
-
Mmm, I stand by that it needed to be fixed. You get blood from hitting healthy Survivors and have to manually absorb the blood dropped by injured ones, that was the design for Oni & his mechanics.
-
Trapper is the only Killer that needs some add-on effects to just be baseline imo, there ia no reason Trapper needs to pick up so many Traps 1 by 1 at the very start of the match without the Bag add-ons. I've continually suggested that Trapper should at least START with 3-5 Traps, but needs add-ons to be able to pickup and carry them again after being used. The other Killers greatly benefit from add-ons tho, no doubt but unless you're against really good/strong Survivors, you can still get by with brown & yellow add-ons or even go naked.
My biggest gripe about add-ons? I want more fun & unique ones. Add-ons that fundamentally change how you play that Killer during a match....time and time again I'll refer to Michael Myers & Hag as having some of my fav addons that add some variety to playing the Killer. How a Tombstone Myers plays & needs to be played is vastly different than a Scratched Mirror Myers, it probably why Myers has been my most played Killer. I have less chances to be bored or burned out of playing him, when I technically have like 5-6 assortment of add-on builds to have fun with.
Instead we continually get add-ons that are majoetoy of the time, just number tweaks or minor effects like hindered, blindness or stuff like seeing Auras for 4 seconds....to me, those kind feel wholly boring and just fodder for the Bloodweb.
-
When a Killer tunnels you non-stop, all game and never or barely does anything else and you end up being unable to do anything.
When Survivor teammates continually sandbag or Troll all game and get others killed and disrupt the whole match.
-
I'll jus say this....people kinda underestimate Wraith, much like many do with Leatherface and it can def catch Survivors off guard!

Thank you! I do tend to Slug with Oni and Myers (while in their 3). What about someone like ‘New’ Doctor? Also what perks would be more effective if you plan on utilizing slugging in your strategy?
I personally don't see Doctor doing too well with a focus on slugging, but that's just my personal opinion.
As for Builds:
Infectious Fright is (imo) almost Mandatory, it's SO good on giving information on where everyone is.
Deerstalker is an obvious choice to locate the downed Survivors to Hook em.
Knockout Is practically a godsend to make it harder for people to find the slugged Survivors and reduce the chance of people getting picked up, or picked up so quickly
Dark Devotion is a fun possible Perk to throw people off, make them run away from fellow Survivors and give you a chance to sneak up on unsuspecting Survivors

Someone had the idea (I think it was Puppets actually) to just give Trapper all of his traps at the start of the match. Honestly I don't think this would be that broken or anything, it just means you get to actually play the videogame faster.
(Also pls give Trapper the ability to reset traps without having to pick them up and place them again it's such an outdated and boring way of resetting a trap)
MANY people have wanted that for Trapper for awhile xP. I would even like Trapper jus starting with 3-5 Traps but needing add-ons to pick up that many after they've been used

I’m really mainly killer, at least I have them all. I’ve been playing survivor more lately with the rift. But I like both sides. My discussion is really about Strategies/builds and even killers who slugging is more appropriate with.
In my opinion, Killers like Oni, Michael Myers, Huntress and Trapper can do really well & capitalize off Slugging
-

Hands down it has to be Myers. That chase music seals the deal for me.
The chase & stalk music and the creep factor of Myers suddenly being there, or seeing his face staring you down is phenomenal.
It's so much fun to play as & against Michael Myers, love the different builds Myers can have too: Scratch/Vanity Mirror, Tombstone Piece, Infinite Tier 3 and of coruse, Tombstone
-
Slugging is fine, Ive done it to down 2 or more Survivors if I need to. I never have the intention to fully slug a team, but some situations call for not taking the time to immediately hook a Survivor.
The only strategy I hate and feel isn't acceptable is face camping or tunneling from the start of a match. It literally means a single person will get to do little after waiting to get into a match....and no, if all the Gens get done and the Killer gets no other kills & crap for points are not valid reasons for it. People who face camp or tunnel are not caring about playing a normal match of DBD. I've had to deal and witness that when I play Survivor FAR too much, one of the many reasons I prefer playing Killer (even if I have some frustrations when playing Killer, none come close to as bad as being face camped).
Slugging is only annoying when it's a Hillbilly ping ponging off Survivors, but even then I don't see it so bad....UNLESS the Killer jus leaves everyone on the floor... thankfully Unbreakable can be a soft counter to it. Had a match bounce back after a Killer slugged the 3 teammates I had, was able to chain get em back up ans finish the Gens and some of us escape. There's counter play and strategy behind it...doesn't always work for/against it, but still can add some great moments in a match
