Yep, as Killer I've gotten stuck on small pebbles and the tips of corners of objects that I wasn't close enough to...makes playing Blight & Hillybilly atrocious, esp packed in maps.
-
Godawful unless it was a fun match or a farm/mess around shenanigans... Getting no kills feels depressing if I performed badly or nothing went well/according to plan
-
I personally love the Ghost Face one and REALLY feel the melted face into the mask is so damn cool.
That said, the Legion one is a phenomenal design incorporating all 4 members into one body. If at all possible I say get both Skins.
Blight's blighted skin looks so lackluster to me, like he's wearing a backpack more so than a Pustula Flower growing out from his back
-
I wanted to like Demodoggo...but Gods it was just so unfun trying to practice with him.
Portals need a rework/tweak as being unable to replace them is annoying, I don't believe Portal traversing synergizes with some add-ons that affect your location/terror radius.
I feel like his Shred is for meme or fakeout purposes (and to hit Obsessions to keep STBFL stacks)
Add-ons. My Gods if any Killer needs their add-ons looked at, it's Demogorgon :/. I believe many agree that his most useful add-on is a damn Brown Rarity and both Ultra Rare add-ons offer almost nothing fun or valuable.
I just feel I have less utility and fun capabilities compared to other Killers and have more work to put in for the same results of other Killers. I dunno, maybe he's just not a playstyle the Devs imagined that works for me.
-
Myers and his add-ons are fine...get over it. Huntress insta-down is the only unfair Killer add-on because it's downside is majorly negated by a Purple Add-on. Tombstone & Tombstone Piece have their downsides and counters. Too many Killers have useless and godawful add-ons, let alone Ultra Rare add-ons...but sure let's continue the trend of wanting neuter Killers and make them non-threatening training dummies.
giphy.gif -
Still prefer Killer over the long run, but Survivors can just suicide on Hook if their game is going rough, Killers have to deal with it or risk ragequit penalties.
-
I hate limited code stuff that is ONLY available for a limited time via the codes. It be something else if we could grind games/serum to obtain if not able to get a code and even if Charms are just "whatever" to most people, exclusive stuff that isn't easily obtained in general will still step on plenty of people's toes.

I just LOVE when they nerf Perks instead of just buffing/reworking Perks that are never seriously used. They've sat and monitored Pop from when it was first released, barely run despite a good concept...to buffing it...aaaaand now reverting it back to how it was?
Who the hell runs Mindbreaker, Cruel Limits, Beasts of Prey etc? Make other Perks more desirable...not nerf the ones that are currently more desirable....I understand it's easier to reduce & nerf what's "causing problems" but I feel it's so lame that so many games just follow this logic.
It won't break the game, but it just adds frustration for some players...having more options and as many viable options is what I feel nore players rather have.
-
I hate the new sounds...who TF likes the sound of a stalled motor, for match after match? I know the Devs wanna update and enhance the game on various levels, but this is another "who asked for this/thought it was a good idea?" Like the Gen's new look and new animations to repair is grest..but that car motor stalling is just nails on a chalkboard to me....
-
I've been pretty much at the point where I'll play the game for a few days, quit for X amount of months, come back and repeat the process. There's still much I love conceptually and in practice...but fuuuuck me does this game's issues and playerbase just make me wanna jump off a cliff.
Several games today were just full of suttering and framerate issues, Hooking being unreliable and then Survivors being douchebags about it. Not to mention my least fav maps being a higher chance to get.....just kills the fun. I can't seem to fully quit the game but the incompetence and almost ALWAYS a slew of bugs & issues def pushes me away. Im tired of giving the benefit of the doubt to those in charge of the game to really stabilize & consistently have the game not fall apart. It's been too many years of too many bugs and gamebreksing problems every update or practically every other one...
So I'm a pessimistic curmudgeon anymore, still clinging to the fun I occasionally have...
-
No thanks, even with games that I had fun with Survivors (on both sides) as console I rather avoid the more-than-likely toxic post-game chat. I know it can be a 50/50 or w/e but I'll DM/Personally message players a GG or fun message, rather than the default...the majority of the playerbase can be really rude and a mood killer.

I have two daughters and myself that play this game on three different xbox x's and televisions. I have a sony bravia A1E OLED television and I started playing maybe 2 weeks ago. Have never had a problem seeing the whole time. Yesterday I bought the new blight killer and some other things that added up to around 75 dollars or more and planed on buy more for my kids, but now I CANT EVEN SEE THINGS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I CAN LOOK AT A TREE AND IT IS COMPLETELY BLACK OUT LINE. I AM SO MAD RIGHT NOW. THERE IS NO SETTING FOR THIS. I have been telling my friends to download this game because it was so fun but now this is ridiculous. Please contact me back I forgot to tell you I only play Freddy for right now. And from what i am reading the dream world is what's causing the problem it's too Dark.
Oh yeah, I forgot about how super dark it is on some maps now....and on console we can't tweak or change the lighting/graphics like PC players can....

I don't really mind having breakable walls. They're kinda decent but I wouldn't be surprised if survivors will be allowed to break them walls with a perk soon.
I dunno why I called em Doors tbh xD ah well!
But yeah, I like them overall. They add some strategy and decision making situations...I just don't like them retroactively added to older Maps and prefer them used for new ones in a sparingly way.
-
I really hate how I love & enjoy this game sometimes..because when its decent or even good, I have a blast...and then POOF bugs, glitches and just unnecessary changes just weigh down the fun.
I feel that the development team actually can't fix the game and can only band-aid fix it between updates or try to distract with new Chapters or updates like graphical changes to Gens, Chests and some of the maps.
Like I'm sure glad I have issues hooking Survivors, or Terror Radius of Killers sometimes not being there, or how basic actions bug out for the trade-off of new Gens & animations....
-
I never do it anymore, it's a dead "tradition" far as I can see. Used to try it during Double Bloodpoint Events...but nowadays Survivors just wanna speed on to the next game.
Killers don't seem to do it whenever I play Survivor...on VERY rare occasions I'll have nice Killers, but not full on farm stuff.
-
The only things I hate regarding the Rift is that some Challenges are just bollocks & tedious, or otherwise have you throw games to accomplish them. Not to mention queue times as Survivor make getting the Survivor Challenges even more annoying :/
It's easy to burn out playing this game. Between the horrible matchmaking, dedicated server issues and long queue times (for Survivor) it can be easy to not want to play, or not have time to grind things out...especially if you take breaks playing. Kinda wish you needed less exp leveling uo to obtain Rift Fragments, or change the design of some Challenges.
I've been stuck on a couple because they require you do certain thing 10+ times.I often have to throw a game away and screw over other players to make sure I can get them done/make progress on them because of how games go. Otherwise few Gens get worked on/done or they get done too fast and there's no opportunity to even attempt them.
-
@BigTimeGamer said:
i mean, sign of a good player is doing gens over immediately saving
While yes, that I understand and agree with... It's that nobody made an attempt at all...they all followed each other and literally left me to die. Gen objective is important...but 3 People do not need to all stay on a Gen till someone dies
And yes, I get that one of this game's taglines/advertisements talks about "working together...or not" It just doesn't translate to a fun time waiting for a lobby, get in, have the Killer spawn almost on top of you, get chased and downed and then die on first hook :\.
As an addition to my frustration... Tunneling Killer players are the most infuriating thing to encounter. That's all console players do and the defense that they cab play the way they want doesn't excuse how ass it is to be on the receiving end of this. I see it happen almost every...single...match.
-
Ghost Face has been my main since he was released, alongside Michael Myers & Pig as my favs/mains. He was my first Killer I got to level 50 & the first to get all Perks on.
Scream has been a longtime fav of mine, and GF's unique lore in DBD + flavor text & theme music just makes him that much more fun to play as. I just enjoy the stealth Killers a bit more, as they have more fun tools to mess around with & toy with Survivors a bit more.
P.S. not all Ghosties are "Toxic" nor the same ~_^
💀💜
-
Michael Myers, no question. He has a fun power that can allow for snowball situations, has solid Perks which can all have STRONG uses for almost all the Killers.
The best part though, is that his add-ons can drastically change how you play him/engage Survivors. Which offer a lot more mileage to playing him and keep you from getting too bored
Oni can be fun but getting use to his power amd advance techniques with flicking (at least here on console) can be outputting or stressful.
-
I regret getting my Girlfriend into playing this...i started around Clown's release, I got her into it before Spirit released.....
So no, I wouldn't recommend it at all....too many issues, inept handlings of basic game features and an overall horrid community that despite some really awesome people, get overshadowed by many others...
The game's concept, design on paper, the lore/mythos writers the music and art/visual teams are top notch....but the actual game itself...is a royal mess and gets far too much love because of the appeal is sold VERY well. Which is further made alluring because they have many Horror Icon IPs to rely on getting people into the game.

People say "its too easy to rank up as survivor" and red ranks is "full of potatoes" which in part is true. Survivor is ridiculously easy, but the problem lies in no matter how good a "red rank" survivor maybe as a whole, they do know what to do are quick on gens. There only needs to be one good chaser in a team of 4.
I truly wish the Rift & Tome never became a thing...because I could more easily quit this game....

We can only hope! Ive tried to look at it like "facing better players will make me a better player" but theres not much to be taken from 4-5 minute matches
Exactly...when there's a huge discrepancy of skill & rank...there's not much to gleam from it... "Oh they know the God Loops" "Oh they found multiple safe pallets" "their teammates called out my totem or my location".
It becomes a situation where they feel empowered, get free easy points and teabag their way home laughing...while us Killers get a miserable experience being punched down on
-
You aren't alone...I am perfectly happy to sit in Green-Purple Ranks, usually Green due to taking breaks because of burnout & annoyances with this game...but Ive hit Purple a couple times... I KNOW where my limits are skill wise...I play casually to have fun, I don't sweat or expect to ALWAYS win....
But when this becomes my normal matching for gamea...it kills my morale
Let's...but the Devs apparently make balance changes based on newer Survivors and easing the frustrations. Coupled with map issues and matchmaking it really drops the idea of Killers being a threat. Even more so when more experienced players that know the ins & outs too well, keep punching down on lower rank Killers due to matchmaking. Thoughout Gray, Yellow & Green Ranks..Id get days of full on Red Ranks. In some cases when Gray Rabked, I'd get Green & Purple Ranks, which thankfully I could handle...but what about newer or more casual Killer players, what happens to them if this is how it is?
-
This game's team outside of art and visuals utterly fail at designing a fun & fluid experience for any lenght of time.... 3 days now of this bullshit (others longer)....they've been given immense amount of feedback for a LONG time on the matchmaking issues...it is inexcusable for these type of matches to continue to happen. Give me a longer queue time if it means I actually get matched correctly, or give compensation for these drastic differences....
I WANT to play & enjoy this game...not be matched against SWF Red Squads over n over, that are effectively bullying Killers across all Ranks. Weeks, an undisclosed amount of time btw, for a fix that we've been given zero details about isn't really uplifting news. I am fine with my skillcap/skill ceiling that these players ARE better at the game than I am....hence where my bloody damn placement should be reflective of this. Ive had ONE day out 4, with playing off & on all day, where matchmaking worked.....3 days, estimating about 25-30ish or so matches that were 3-4 Red Ranks that had no business going against anyone below Red Rank Killer... And no, experience vs potato Survivors or overly altruistic ones is NOT an example to debunk the BS nature of matchmaking...
-
Mmm, maybe not really framerate or fps issues, but I have experienced some auto-aim kerfluffles at times as Killer. So far as Survivor it's been mostly fine? Need to play more to see
-
Monsterous Shrine, jus put the poor thing out of its misery BHVR D:
-
New Ruin on Pig has...so far been better than Old Ruin. Been running it with Sloppy Butcher & Surveillance (small sample size ofc) but getting Traps on people's heads as fast as possible. With sneaking around it has led to quite a few peeps being off Gens or scared to get back on them in case their Heads pop or wasting time to heal thanks to Sloppy Butcher. So it has some decent effect...again, small sample size.
-
None, they're prob the last Trophies I'll ever go after tbh, with how finicky Emblems & Pipping can be, it's easy to jus barely get Merciless and miss it....Some Killers are reslly crippled by using only their unique Perks.
-
As Survivor....Ruin has been hilarious and jus power thru it even stronger than old Ruin.
As Killet, as long as I get overly altruistic Surcicors, a good Totem spot and a way to keep people of Gens...it can work decently. But against a known/seasoned group, a bad totem spot or people that can just power through it...it ends up being bad
-
Toolboxes as secondary objective when?
😏

About to hit Rift Tier 5. I feel like I'm already behind

As I figured, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a weird interaction with that xP

Yeah I completely forgot lol. And good question!
I slightly regret not leveling my Survivors to get Borrowed Time on em before Bill was added xD! I seriously didn't think he was gonna be added.
-
Bill from Left 4 Dead was added to consoles you need him leveled up to unlock Borrowed Time.
My question, I have a Rank 1 Borrowed Time on a Survivor but they're low leveled, I'm guessing Ranks 2 & 3 would now be locked?

That’s totally your fault, you should know to wear the hospital gown! Michaels sexy legs will stun the survivors every time you vault a window, giving you ample time to reach them!
Seriously though, matchmaking should have been fixed months ago. I have a feeling they can’t because it would make queue times take longer. I hope I’m wrong.
Darn, I wish I'd known that! *opens wallet to-* hey wait a minute!

Varying factors, but it'll all be explained in detail through a blogpost soon.
Are there any band-aid fixes that are available, or any helpful advice players can take to minimize discouragement? I legit had a 24 hr period of games where it was absolutely unfun, where matchmaking was bjorked, always pitting me against Red Ranks, often SWF of varying degrees.
It nearly drove me to burnout/quitting. Yesterday, I barely faced any Red Ranks and I could actually have fun. Id say this is the biggest hole in DBD's Ship, balance, maps, perks and such are important things to work on, but it's all for naught if players are being widely mismatched
-
It depends on the match and Survivors...In one match I had hooked someone and immediately the 3 other Survivors rushed for the unhook...I ended up grabbing 2 of them attempting to unhook and chased after the 3rd.
If I hook someone and I dont see scratch marks, Spies go off, nor see anyone nearby...I'll leave, if I downed someone by a hooked person and see no indication of a 3rd Survivor around, I'll go hook them....otherwise you better believe I'll leave ya on the ground. I don't allow free unhooks if I know there are ppl around.
-
At least the Hallowed Blight had SOMETHING going on....Event Offerings for Hooks/Gens, cosmetics you could work towards. I still miss the old Lunar Event for the Lamps tbh, was a fun "Tag" mini objective. C'mon BHVR, the Battlepass shouldn't be an end all be all thing

The game is currently a mess...and I'm not even mad 😂
What gets me, is we're STILL seeing Survivor complaints about how "brain dead" & "busted" Killers are....it just never ends with the mass amount of players that favor or solely play Survivor, still push for Killers to get nerfed into the ground.
Spirit got some nerfs, her strongest add-on changed and STILL Ive seen posts & videos of Survivor mains complaining at or demeaning others for playing her.....this community is often hot garbage
-
Infectious Fright is practically married to Oni
-
At the moment on my Pig (only have a handful of Perks, takes forever to level every Killer up, level Survivors up AND work on Prestige'ing) running:
-Ruin
-Surveillance
-Spies from Shadows
-Sloppy Butcher
It's been a lot of fun, esp on Lery's

It does specifically say "by any means". I'm not sure how they could reword it to be clearer than that, short of listing every single valid kill type.
It's def worded badly. DBD has used the lingo of Kill to represent Mori, IE: Mori Offerings, Rancor, Devour Hope, Tombstone Offerings. Where as Sacrifice represented them specifically being on the Hook.
The Challenge couldve said "Eliminate Survivors by any means". When we have dalies & Trophies/Achievements that are associated & worded with "Kill" to only mean Mori'ing the Survivor, shouldn't be a surprise there's some confusion.....
-
Demogorgon, Ghost Face and Clown are my favs. Winter Event wasn't too bad either
-
I got burntout playing DBD after finishing the first page of Challenges and some game issues getting to me and ended up not returning to finish everything or at least cash in on what I got on the Premium Track.....which I regret a bit. Hope to be more diligent on this one
-
Maps are kinda fun/nice when you can let the other Survivors see the stuff too :P.
As for Totems, Small Game & Detective's Hunch are really great ...I intend to eventually level my other Survivors up (Nea, Ash, Dwight, Jane & Claudette so far leveled) and get Detective's Hunch +Inner Strength
-
Playing on consols. Not to mention It's disorienting and annoying Blinking around with the darkening vision, camera jerked toward the ground....I don't feel compelels to put in X hours/matches to learn her seriously
-
Haddonfield for sure, I just rarely have any fun playing on that map for either side.

False, I've played against it at red ranks and it's still strong. Gens just don't get done if you actually play killer properly. Gens regress at 2 TIMES the normal speed with tier 3. You just want to complain.
Map balance, Totem placement, matchmaking and certain Killers have/can suffer from the changes to Ruin.
I've been using new Ruin on Pig and I have been loving it. I still have other Killers to test out New Ruin with, that used old Ruin (Plague, Freddy, Trapper, Leatherface, certain Michael Myers builds and Clown)
