When did it start?
I haven't seen anything of that nature yet at least on my Series X but I haven't played much yesterday or today.
I just got back in town after a week long trip yesterday and this is when I noticed it

I just gotta ask: if the game is unplayable on console, why do you keep trying to play it? I've had one game that didn't work on my PC, through no fault of my PC. I just uninstalled it and called it a day.
Because people have put hundreds and thousands of hours into this game and they enjoy it? I don’t see what’s really that hard to understand. You can be frustrated by something but enjoy it at the same time.
Not to mention that there’s not a single competitor in this genre so if people even wanted to play something like DbD, they have little to no options.

That still falls under the banner of "putting words in ones mouth"
I mean we could argue semantics all day, but I don’t believe that OP meant to put words in your mouth and was just trying to hyperbolize his argument more.

Yeah, and to cap it all, apparently I said it was "gaming as intended", which is literally trying to quote me on something I didn't say. I would understand if quotation marks hadn't been used, but they were, so that really is trying to make it sound like I said that.
The quotes OP used weren’t meant to directly quote you but instead acted as air quotes, putting more emphasis upon the phrase.

No probs, i mean it should be standard. I rarely see more than 4 purples and 1 red spawn on P3 lvl 50 characters. So if im managing to spend around 60K getting all 4s and a red plus greens yellows and browns, im not sure what kind of Bloodweb hes getting to spend around 83K per blood web. Just sounds like over exaggeration.
I definitely agree that 50-60k is the average, but there have been some where I’ve spent north of 70k if I’m going for pinks and purples.

I am amazed you people can still play the game with all the freezing that ruins the chases completely.
I had enough when it got worse yesterday.
I’m done playing until I get the new Xbox, which is thankfully in 2 days.
If there’s still blatant performance issues I’m dropping this game until they’ve fixed it.

I legit held off on uninstalling the game because I hoped the secondary effect would be something fun, that somehow the event would make playing the game worth it. Glad I found a better game to move onto.
Don’t blame you at all.
I’m heavily considering taking a break from the game as well. It just sucks because I really enjoy it, but these past couple patches and this event are the biggest deterrents possible.

Yes, thats true, but my point was the chases in between are either going ti be very short or very ling depending on the skill of the survivor and where they are on the map. Like you put me in a lobby with rank 20s yeah ill be able to tunnel someone out before a single gen is done. Put me in a lobby with all r1s theres a xhance the person im tunneling actually escapes. Theres 2 main differences, the skill level of the person im chasing and the willingness of the team to take hits so the person im tunneling has breathing room.
My original point was, that r1 should be having a blast because theyre doing the fun part. Even they die chances are most if not all the gens are done. They got to skip the boring stuff.
The r20 probably uninstalled though 😬
I’m just speaking from personal experience here, but even when I’m getting tunneled and the chase lasts longer than a minute after I get unhooked, I’m still not having fun. Even though chases are my favorite part of the game, getting proxy camped and tunneled out of the game is not enjoyable to me, regardless if I helped my team crank out some gens or not.

Must be some chase in between. Stupid rare a survivor gets unhooked, takes 1 step and goes down in my games. It does happen though sure
If a killer is actually intent on camping/tunneling you, you’re more than likely not going to get away.
-
I mean I would have done the exact same thing if I was that Meg

I feel like killers who are already tunneling are not the killers who really care all that much about their rank or how much BP they get. They just want their 4K, otherwise they wouldn't be tunneling...
Saw a dude on YouTube who was saying he had a 1000 straight “wins”, watched 3 of his games and he proxy camped and tunneled the dude off first hook every game. People that play for 4ks simply do not care about any of the things you stated and will continue to camp and tunnel until there is a reason not to.

I wasn't setting myself up for disappointment. They just ######### him up. People misunderstand what I was asking for all the time. I was never asking for rocket launcher to be shoved in survivors face or something like that. My expectations were realistic. You CAN make Nemesis faithful even without the weapons. The thing they needed to do was focus on what makes Nemesis feel like Nemesis but its clear they didn't. This is what they did. They focused on bringing the feeling of RESIDENT EVIL as a whole with the zombies. That's the big problem. They aren't the same game. What they SHOULD always do and focus on is bringing in the spirit of the characters they chose to be in the game but they went the complete opposite. Where is the running? The speed? The lethality? He has... A short tentacle and a zombie? His tentacles reach way further and he isn't a slow sack of ######### like he's portrayed in DBD. They could easily dead by daylightify his speed and lehtality. They could have swapped him out with MANY other RE killers because they only gave him a tentacle. This one is by far the worst version of him. He is even more feeling like Nemesis in RE Verse and hell even in Marvel VS Capcom. How!?
I know you said you didn't, but you most definitely set yourself up for disappointment. Your expectations were way too high considering what they've done with other licensed killers.
-
At most I would say that they’re slightly annoyed. Hard to be mad when you’re making so much money though.
-
I think they should change the perk to get a stack for every gen done while in the trial.
Killers have BBQ stacks for simply doing their objective, why doesn’t WGLF?
-
M&A Deathslinger is by far my least favorite killer to play against in the game. Legit would rather play 5 stridor spirit matches in a row.

Too many killers playing as it’s so much easier to be killer in dbd. That’s why it takes longer to get a kill lobby as they’re all full, not enough survivors.
How do you not get tired of this. It’s actually sad at this point.

You get BP, but it's detrimental to the killer. It's just not worth the killer's time. I've also seen many survivors getting screwed out of a hatch escape (they were being chased) because the rest refused to go. If the gate's open, leave.
I mean the killer can legit just force them out of the gates and get more bloodpoints at the same time. I don’t get why people act like this is taking the game hostage when there’s a guaranteed way to deal with it that takes no more than 30 seconds. Sure, if they teabag that can be annoying, but just hit them twice and they have to leave and you can move on to your next game.

I play killer as much as survivor, killer is the easiest thing ever. You have got to be really bad if you think survivor only consists of second chances.
How is survivor not just a game of second chances? You have to get hooked three times to die, not to mention the plethora of second chance perks there are (dead hard, adrenaline, unbreakable, deliverance, DS, etc.)
-
@aroell said:

What are you saying? Looping takes more skill than every single killer except nurse, blight and twins.
Looping takes skill, yes, but I don’t think you play killer enough if you’re saying there’s only 3 killers that require more skill than survivor.
Killer is a 1v4 where a single mistake on your part could mean the entire game is lost.
Survivor is literally a game of second and third chances (more if you bring second chance perks), killers do not have that same luxury.
-
Every killer in this game takes more skill to play than it takes to play survivor.

That's human nature and how the brain works. You'll always remember terrible things over amazing things
Yes it is, but the brain is only a victim of your mentality. If you tell it to remember the good moments over the bad, you’ll start to cherry-pick moments that make you happy more than make you sad.
-
As someone who plays both roles I started to realize that I remember the negative experiences more than the positive ones, and this goes for both sides.
Not saying this applies to you, but if it does try to cherish the good and fun games you have and your brain will start to react to the positive more than the negative

Nobody is saying killers like Slinger and Twins are OP. They. Aren't. Fun. I'm not sure why so many struggle to wrap their head around the concept that something can be technically balanced but unfun overall.
Half the killers they've released since the Freddy rework are "press M2 to zone for free or actually do the thing instead". It's braindead gameplay. It's no accident that most of the killers deemed "most fun" are the ones that actually require a good amount of mechanical skill and have some back and forth in the chase.
Deathslinger is so unbelievably unenjoyable to play against I’d honestly rather play stridor spirit

Who said killer was impossible? Clearly you tunneled the weakest person out quickly and this group was really altruistic, the scores show that. Good on you
Sounds like your average game.
This does make me wanna bring up how this game rewards more blood points for doing things that actually make the survivors more inefficient.
You get like 1250 points for soloing a gen which takes 80 seconds. You get 1500 for a safe unhook which takes a tenth of that time.
You get like 2500+ bps for completing a gen start to finish with another survivor, which is a time waste overall but only takes around 45 seconds.
This game rewards unoptimal gameplay to cover up for its poorly designed objectives. Can you imagine if you got 3000 bps for soloing a gen and 1250 for doing it with another person? This games poor design would stick out like a sore thumb when all the gens are done in 3 minutes...

And again - you wont lose a game because you have to break one breakable Wall (on the most Maps this is the amount of walls to break). The "problem" gets blown up way too much.
Breakable walls just amplify the previous problem of map layouts and tiles.
It was the laziest possible way to deal with them and gave the devs the excuse of saying “we made a way for you to get rid of them”.
Why could they have not changed fixed tile spawns so that infinites are no longer a thing, instead of just slapping as someone earlier in the thread said “a pre-dropped god pallet”.
Such a lazy design choice.

I can understand a weekly stream is too much, but now we got almost nothing anymore.
And where are "our" community managers on this forum anyway? You don't see them anymore, ever. So much for having CM's...

Video game journalists? This is interesting, we are about to make a news article about these issues? lol
The longest thread in this forums history that has hundreds of different people all stating their issues, while listing the triggers that cause them.
Addressing an empty promise made over two years ago, that hasn’t even come remotely close to happening.
The lack of transparency and radio silence on this issue, not to mention that a dev or community manager hasn’t responded to this when it’s been on the front page for 2 months.
The recent update that has literally tanked performance even worse than what it was on all consoles and even mid to high range PCs. Causing people’s games to crash and even some people’s consoles and PCs to crash.
This all sounds rather newsworthy to me, especially with how big this game has become. It’s time they’re held accountable.

yeah im just gonna keep this short: you are heavily overrating the stalking mechanic.
Ghostfaces main power is not stalking people, its going into a stealth mode. just walk up to them and grab / hit them when they dont expect it, thats how you play GF. not stalking someone is not "getting your power stuffed".
Myers Power is a lot more reliant on the stalk (especially in Tier 1), but since Survivors can not break you out of it stalking your way up to Tier 2 / 3 even mid chase is not a hard task at all. so Myers doesnt even care about Spinechill nearly as much as GF doesn, as he is just going to keep stalking them during the chase. another case of not "getting your power stuffed".
and im not even going to bother with a debate on whether Stridor Spirit is stupidly overpowered or not, because we all know she is. If you disagree then please, do share your secrets on how you can reliantly counterplay a Stridor Spirit. "just dont get found", am i right? that argument is about the equivalent as telling a killer to "just apply map pressure" when facing a 4 man genrush SWF - its stupid and it is nowhere near as easy as you try to make it sound.
What this man said ^^
Ghostfaces that only try to go for expose stalks are the easiest ones to face as they usually waste more time trying to expose survivors rather than injure them. Being injured against a killer that can turn off his terror radius and his red stain is how a good GF can snowball quickly.
And spine chill is not this end all for stealth killers as you think it is, it gives no direction so if you get creative with your angles it can actually play into your hands more times than not.

If you looped the killer for over a minute without using DS, it did its' purpose. If you get downed shortly and ds him then run away for another 30 seconds, that is still a lot more time than what you would have had without it. It isn't about keep the killer away. It's about making the game a bit fairer so you get a chance to actually get points and a pip. No one likes to get unhooked without BT then while still unable to move, get downed again then rehooked. People who say you should have not got caught when the purpose of the game is for you to go down at some point; it's a flawed argument.
I just want DS to have 1 use per hook. If you miss it on the first one, sucks to be you. If you hit it, you should be able to at least extend the chase a bit longer so your team can knock out gens. IF you are not being chased, get healed then do gens. Don't waste your teams' time by trying to get the killer to chase you just because you have DS. That isn't the reason for DS. A gen takes 1 minute and 20 seconds, I believe with 1 person. 60 seconds means you should have at least 3 gens close to popping if the killer wants to tunnel for another minute on the same guy. Extending that time any farther, and you punish the killer harshly for just trying to kill someone.
Very fair, I totally see your point
-
@AVoiceOfReason said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2286647#Comment_2286647
That would be abused by survivors. They would just circle around the killer while they're chasing someone else to keep the timer going. Once everyone has DS, one person could break away and do gens while the other 3 are just being #########. It would just make old DS reappear in a different form.
Fair, I guess one way they could combat this is to only have one active at a time, but even then I could see that causing problems now.
IMO, DS isn’t an anti-tunneling perk as it only buys you a minute at most.
-
I think that DS should work like pigs bear traps, if you are in a chase the timer doesn’t go down. This way you won’t feel obligated to have to use it in under a minute, and the killer can’t simply wait it out if you are in chase.
-
yesss I’ve been wondering if my controller was broken or not, this makes me feel so much better.
its very frustrating and has made me only play killer the past few days

you said
Technically a survivor who has Dead Hard active should be immune to anything that would otherwise injure that survivor. That is what the perk is meant to do.
This is also why I also do not set traps inside the pallet but rather in front or behind a pallet.
which reads as "I put traps on the outside of pallets because of dead hard". Now, maybe that's not what you meant, but that's how it reads as.
and you don't trap the center because they just drop the pallet and vault... ######### do you think they would do? sit and die?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2285343#Comment_2285343
then he is camping... and just like any other camping killer, it's very hard to get a proper save.
and someone else can disarm the traps after trapper goes down. there's still a simple way out that doesn't require dead harding over a trap.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2285345#Comment_2285345
pfff... XD
wow that was bad... bye guy
You’re expecting too much out of solo queue players.
You’re left with three options now.
Pound out gens and let the dude die.
Have a good level of communication to where a third guy disarms traps while the other saves the hooked.
Having dead hard which also requires you to get injured along the way, if you’re healthy you’re simply dead.
Im still left with the question of why is dead harding over a trap such a big deal when it’s one singular perk that has a requirement. Some perks counter certain killers and that’s just part of the game.
-
@Alice_pbg said:

then just disarm it. how is dead hard helping you there?
you wanna dead hard in, wait 40 seconds, unhook and dead hard out?
trapper camping isn't much different than any other killer without an instadown camping. if he wants to be near the hook to get at least a trade... he will. and like any other camping killer, it's very hard to get a proper save.
I once again urge you to read my full post before you respond.
It is a very common strategy for trappers to trap every entrance to a basement besides one, let the person go down to get the save and then trap the only exit out.
The only way for the survivors to get out in these situations is to have dead hard.

you can walk around the traps in the stairs. because trapper literally needs to be sideways to even put a trap on stairs. and if he can fit there, so can you.
also, use the door.
I’m aware you can walk around the stairs one and you must not have read my whole post as I said that he trapped the only door out and the only window out
