Or realize that you don't need Meta perks to win a match, regardless of what Killer it is. I'm gone in with a Treasure Hunting setup and have Survived with 1-3 others coming with me depending on how smart we were during the match as solos. I've also gone in with a build that purely focuses on boldness and chases and Survived. It doesn't take PH to get you out of using Meta perks, but it definitely forces you to think if using Meta perks all the time is viable.

I don't disagree with you, I love running plunderer builds or healing builds, but the meta is the meta and there will always be people that are still running perks like DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable, etc. Unless more perks become viable I don't think that PH is really going to shake it up all that much.

  • @Desh said:

And that's the risk of it. PH breaks the Meta better than Freddy by using a Power that instantly "hooks" people. It's a fun change because it requires you to run new and creative builds. I don't really see what the issue is.

Thats the problem though. Sure, everybody is pretty much facing PH every game right now, so they adjust their build to play against him accordingly. In a month or so though, he will be played just as often as the other average killers, so are survivors really going to keep their PH build or go back to the existing meta? If they want to shake the meta up they have to start giving more perks the Kindred treatment and make more perks viable on both sides.

The new killer, being The Executioner, is a pretty fun killer when put on paper, but when put into practice, is absolutely pure chaotic evil. The killer's "Cage of Atonement" allows it to bypass Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time, though, at the expense of not being able to use Barbecue and Chili or Pop Goes The Weasel.

Usually, one of these Killers will immediately book it to the Cage once a survivor is in it, making it incredibly difficult to make a safe save unless the cage spawns directly next to a nearby survivor or the Killer paths poorly. This makes the game boring for the survivors involved as the savior is usually not chased, while the uncaged person is being chased so that Decisive can be ignored.

The reason behind this may be because some the Devs want survivors to use different perks besides the current Meta Perks to change the game a bit, but I want to see opinions.

Should Pyramid Head be changed to better suit non-tunneling playstyles or other playstyles, or should he stay the same?

Man what I just don't get is if the devs want survivors to run other, non-meta perks, why not just buff the existing 40+ almost useless perks that already exist? Give a perk like No One Left Behind the Kindred treatment every week or possibly month and see how that shakes the meta up. There are more simple solutions to addressing the meta than adding a killer that in a month or so you'll probably only see once every 10 matches or so.

  • @NursesBootie said:

That's the reason cages got introduced. To motivate people to use other perks than the occasional meta perks.

If they want people to start running non-meta perks maybe they should just buff the existing 50+ perks that are almost useless?

  • He feels very underwhelming to me. No map mobility, his ranged attack is more often than not detrimental for you to use and easy to predict and avoid, and his cages are very niche and more often than not are just free unhooks and heals. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to playing him quite often, but it doesn't seem like that will really be happening for me.

I think Demo is better, easier, more fun and less frustrating to use than PH.

Totally agree, I can almost guarantee that if they dont make any buffs or quality of life changes he will be even more rarely played then demo already is.

  • I'd agree as a base killer with no perks or add-ons, PH is very underwhelming. Good survivors feel extremely tilting to play as against him, as you miss your power one time and they gain major distance.

I’ve noticed this too. I tested and it turns out it doesn’t matter if you start it or end near the hook, if it’s at all near the hook or gate the ENTIRE trail disappears. This might also go for cages but I haven’t tried that yet. I’m assuming this is intentional to prevent the hooked survivor from landing into a trench and be instantly tormented.

Damn that sucks. I thought that trapping around the hook would have been a really good strategy to use.

  • @Spirez said:

So I noticed that the rites of judgment trail will instantly start to disappear after putting it down. I don’t really know what causes it. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. One place that I tested a lot and it always disappeared was trying to create quick border around a hooked survivor. The trail will vanish within 2 seconds. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I’ve also noticed this, not sure if it’s intended or not.

I AM DONE RESPONDING TO YOUR PETTY COMMENTS.

I AM BOTH RED RANK IN KILLER AND SURVIVOR.

I PLAYED EXECUTIONER TODAY AND DESTROYED ALL SURVIVORS WITHOUT NOED ( I DONT USE IT) 4KS. AND IT ALL THE MATCHES THEY DID ONLY 2 GENS!

SO I AM NOT SURVIVOR SIDED. I AM JUST POSTING MY OPINIONS. YOU GUYS ARE JUST SALTY AND I AM NOT BEING BIASED. I AM BEING IMPARTIAL. KEEP POSTING YOUR COMMENTS AND I WILL IGNORE YOUR SALTINESS.

I AM JUST AS GOOD KILLER AS I AM SURVIVOR SO STOP BEING SALTY HATERS BECAUSE I AM JUST GIVING FEEDBACK!

Does anyone know what rank this guy is?

Werent you the person that litterly assumes that his power doesn't require any skill?

    Maybe play the killer yourself?

Right? Lmao. This killer requires way more skill and knowledge than 75% of the roster.

So this is your logic? Lol. Dude its the first day the killer is out on PS4 and red ranks are already going really great with it. Doesnt that tell you something? I am not in PC im on PS4 we dont have a PTB

I don’t know what games your playing right now lol. Same rank as you in both and i can tell you playing as and against him so far today, he’s been getting bullied far more often then not. He has zero map mobility and his power is not oppressing. Far from overpowered.

  • @Calisto_667 said:

I play both killer and survivor. Survivor rank 1 and killer rank 2 at the moment.

However, I believe the new killer is too strong for red rank killer mains and needs a balance for the following reasons:

2-He has a quick mori, and there is no way to get out of torment unless you rescue someone from the cage

3- DS or BT does not work on the cage.

4- His ground power is too long and you can try to loop around but its still hard.

5- I feel that this killer does not require any real skill for you to be good with it and that isn't

For example: I love the Deathslinger because he requires a lot of strategy, he is fun to play and you have to get good with it to actually get kills.

I understand this new killer is different but in order to be a bit fair for everyone he does need some balance.

6- I went against a rank 2 executioner and he had Pop and we were never able to complete a gen. One of us had repressed alliance but because of the amount of time required for it to activate and it only works for 30 seconds when Pop works for 60 seconds.

I am not putting this post to be hated on, I am just trying to be fair for everybody being that I actually am a red rank in both survivor and killer and play both a lot.

Funny you think that because I actually think that he is extremely average. His power is pretty easy to juke and is very punishing if you miss. His cage is also a free unhook and heal most of the time.

  • @LordRegal said:

It’s largely intentional. They made it so that you have momentum that feels like you’re dragging a giant sword through the ground - which you are. Takes a bit of getting used to and I think is going to make him a higher skill cap killer than he would be otherwise.

Understandable. His ability is very powerful and I can see how adding more mobility to it could make it very overpowered, but still just doesnt feel good to use.

    Self-Care

I'm aware a lot of people complain about this perk already, but in the red ranks you'd be surprised with how popular it is. Whether I'm playing as killer or solo queue, there will always at least one person using the perk.

Self-care is overrated in the red ranks particularly because people think it's useful to healing instead of having to search for a med-kit or equip a med-kit every game. Admittedly I used to run it a lot but then I tried out Inner Strength and I've since kept Inner Strength in my build.

With the healing speeds nerfed a while back, self-care became detrimental to the team and allowed the killer to secure an easy kill.

Self care gets a bad wrap because many people tend to use it in bad situations when they should be doing something much more effective. Would you rather have 2 survivors not doing gens or anything else productive for 16 seconds or 1 survivor not doing gens or something productive for 32 seconds? There is no loss of time even though it seems like it. When used correctly it is a completely fine perk.

So Mori's I can slightly understand the issue with. You'll get Killers who tunnel you into oblivion and kill you quickly. I think people have more problems with the Pink Mori than the Green Mori. Mind you, I only ever use a Mori when a ritual (or challenge) demands me to kill them by my hand.

Keys however, I still to this day don't understand what the problem is. You don't suddenly win the game when you walk in with a key. You still have to play and do a certain amount of Gens before you can escape. And that amount varies on how many are alive. If you want to argue that Moris should similar to how Keys work where a Killer needs to do x for a period of y before they can Mori someone, then sure, depends on how you approach it. But I don't see the problem with Keys and people don't like Moris when a Killer goes full "toxic".

My problem with keys is that they just feel cheap. There's games as killer where I feel I'm doing really well and on the verge of a 4k and all the sudden the last two survivors escape with 1 gen left and the games over.

  • Anybody that’s played both sides at even a remotely high level knows that survivor is much stronger than killer

  • Your friend definitely sounds newer to the game or in lower ranks. Killer at lower ranks is a breeze and doesn't require much skill but once you start getting into purple and red and facing good swf's, you'll realize what role in this game is much, much harder to play.

  • Definitely understand where your coming from. I personally find it way less stressful to play as survivor as theres not nearly as much pressure on you individually since you have 3 teammates. Killer is a role where one small mistake can screw the whole game up for you, and you definitely need to paying more attention. This being said though, I find killer more rewarding to play as because of this.

  • I have two newer friends to the game who have both been interested in the gameplay, but lost interest when they found out how extensive the grind was matched with queue times. Playing survivor and not using WGLF, you'll average around 20k bps per game. Considering the average queue time for survivor can vary from 1-10 minutes, this means that it takes around 30 minutes to an hour to have enough bps for one level 50 bloodweb. I personally believe that they either need to change WGLF to something like BBQ, or ease the overall grind of the game once again.

  • @KingFrost said:

They should just cut bloodpoint costs.

White Items - From 3000 BP to 2000 BP

Yellow Items - From 4000 BP to 3000 BP

Green Items - From 5000 BP to 4000 BP

Purple Items - From 6000 BP to 5000 BP

Iri Items - From 7000 BP to 6000 BP

That would cut BP requirements by about a quarter. Which with as many perks as there are, seems like it'd be pretty fair.

This is exactly what I have been saying. The average cost of a level 50 bloodweb is way too high. I shouldn’t be playing 4 games as killer to unlock 4 bloodwebs.
