seems like the only solution is to remove SWF since it ruins killers AND solos.
why are we catering to 10% of the game population?
I just don't see how you can remove swf when friends can still communicate through other devices.

Tell me about lad, they're pretty weak so nobody's looking to play them. Trickster may likely share the same fate unfortunately, he's actually weaker then they are.
Side note besides Trickster I'm getting alot of Spirits, not sure why though, what about yourself?
Most of my matches have been trickster which of course is because he's new and a lot of people are trying him out. Before the update I was going against a lot of trappers and huntresses.

Just had a tunneling Meyers 2 matches ago. Scared the crap out of me twice, which is a nice change from typical killers.
yeah it be like that with stealthy killers. 😂

@ImHexyAndINoed said:
Went up against a Michael two days ago, now with the chapter still being fresh you'll likely see alot of Trickster for afew days, but around day 4 or 5 he will gradually be played less and less, and other killers will be more frequent
Besides Twins, poor Twins:(
seems like no one plays twins anymore because it's been longer that I've went against her than Michael.

Key nerf, I’ve played around 6-7 games of killer tonight and 3 of them had key escapes.
Including one where I got 4 stacks of remember me, 4 stacks of no way out; and then the game gives an RNG key to a 3 man SWF all jump out the hatch at 1 gen left. Amazing.
it sucks when you play so well and all of a sudden the survivors just disappear like that.

I feel like a broken record because ive said this before but im just gonna say the DS nerf was bad because the perk was being treated like a mechanic by both the devs and players, what I mean by this is because of how popular DS was an obsession was virtually guaranteed and so killers where faced with a scenario where tunnelling was then discouraged.
If the use of the perk goes down less games have obsessions more killers have free reign to tunnel and you can see where im going, if the absence of a perk on one of the 4 survivors makes the game less fun maybe some of the features of the perk should be base...…. like making it so there's an obsession every game.
The reason there was so much appeal to the DS nerf to some people was because how with lockers it can be abused (there's no reason for this to not be changed), with unbreakable it actually makes you invincible and because you don't need someone to pick you up so it also denied the killer all the pressure from the hit anyway and its frustrating to be hit by because you could genuinely not be tunnelling but get punished. On another note I believe anyone saying it gives you free gen progress is just bad at the game or jumping a bandwagon that excuse is dumb imo you can slug and if they where really on an unsafe gen for so long then their DS would be running low, slugging is completely a viable and fair way to play the game I don't care what anyone meghead says this is true.
Honestly I would have nerfed the survivor role much more but differently but in a way that would have been much better for the game in my opinion by targeting broken the most broken perks and here's my hot takes on this
Dead hard-Should stun the survivor if the killer doesn't swing and an attack is not dodged so you cant just dead hard to a pallet and drop it (there's a compendium challenge that requires you to dodge attacks so the game must have some way to tell if its used for distance)
Unbreakable-Shouldn't let you pick yourself up
Soul guard-Shouldn't let you pick yourself up
Iron will-Should have a prerequisite look at lucky break and other weak perks trying to fulfil a similar role
Honestly the game is playable without DS and people acting like its not are overreacting but i don't think the nerf was good for the game like everyone is saying. I think this is because killer is the weaker role (of course this is only if both sides are playing their roles effectively) people seem to be happy with any nerfs to the survivor role because they don't trust behaviour to make the right nerfs while at the same time there are so many BS survivor perks that will never get touched, Dead hard was last changed according to the dead by daylights wiki during patch 2.0.0 (not relating to bugs the perk has had related to it, the sky hard) and unbreakable has never actually been nerfed to my knowledge.
Honestly the whole reason im rambling in this post is i just see so much community outrage over a perk that's really a non issue and its not even nerfed in a way which resolves the few issues i see in it (lockers+unbreakable combo) while broken perks are just ignored.
if unbreakable shouldn't allow you to pick yourself up, than you may as well just delete it. Same with soul guard.

No, you may not. Smh, there'll always be that one entitled survivor main wanting to run toxic builds just to bully the killer. It's a shame really.
Yea, you can use it lol you don't need to ask someone if you can play the game the way you want to, heck, you paid for it.
I mean I wouldn't consider it toxic now because it's now perfectly balanced.

The red flags were there.
- an absurdly high ammo count.
- An objectively strong hex.
- A perk that encourages the use of a basic attack after carrying/hooking someone.
- A perk that’s purpose is to give the killer more time during endgame.
that endgame perk is useless because it's just 10 seconds.
-
this actually happened to me a few times on xbox recently, but it didn't give me a dc penalty which is weird.
-
I have only played against him once and it was an easy escape, he only got one kill. I need to play against him more to really understand because he's new.

look at all that blood!

If the survivors don't know a killer has BBQ by the endgame, they are stupid. Sorry to break it to you, but if the killer hooks somebody and comes to your exact position, it's obvious. You must be playing in low MMR if you think the survivors won't be able to counter it.
Moving on.. never once did I imply that DS was skill-based lol. A killer hunting down a survivor with BBQ only to win the chase is different from a survivor not being tunneled, losing the chase and punishing the killer for it with an undeserved DS. Comparing the two makes no sense since one was deserved and one wasn't.
I also find it funny that you think DS was countering BBQ when in actuality it was just giving an unfair escape considering the killer wasn't tunneling, hence why DS is being nerfed in the first place. He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it, that isn't "countering". I don't understand your point here.
to be fair though he still would've escaped under the new DS but yeah the perk needed a change very badly.
-
DS really should just deactivate at endgame.

I don't really care about NOED, I want rancor fixed because I have died many times to doing my objective and not being able to hide. I remember one match where I kept trying to get people to do the last gen so I could hide, and it was so unfun because I knew no matter what I did the spirit would phase, down, and mori me because of her perk. At least with noed it's just doing bones, but rancor takes your primary objective and punishes you or one of your teammates for it.
I rarely see rancor in my games and I have yet to experience losing like that.

If you are tired of seeing the NOED posts where people complain about them, don't click on them.

If not this then make a new perk, have it tell you how many totems remain and give 20% bp bonus to altruism for each totem broken (lit or unlit).
I hope you devs are reading this!

No reason to leave the gen until they are nearly second phase. good swf teams don't save until they need to.
80% of the time when that's the case I'll go to second phase right as i'm being unhooked. Makes me not wanna save that person after. Which I know sounds ignorant but you have to be better.

@KingFrost said:
Generator speeds aren't the problem. The problem is that most killers lack early game pressure. Survivors can split up early game, and work on multiple generators and spread out across the map working on gens with zero pressure on them. At which point, there's not much the killer can do. Killers have no idea where survivors spawned in, and can only really take an educated guess. Especially on a map like Red Forest. Gen speeds are fine. The lack of early game pressure available to killers is not.
I'll never fault survivors for doing their sole objective but I've been in matches where survivors were hard focusing on gens and not being altruistic. I don't know why survivors are in a hurry to leave the game. Like when I'm playing survivor, I'll do a gen and maybe go heal someone and do a totem. Then go do another gen.
-
I myself have made that "just pressure gens" statement before but the more I play killer the more I understand where you're coming from. When you're playing against a very well coordinated SWF it's a huge disadvantage to the killer and they can communicate. A lot of the times you could be chasing someone and the other 3 teammates could be working on 3 seperate gens and there's nothing the killer can do about it.
I don't know if I see gen speeds being addressed because there are a lot of gen slow down perks, but I don't feel like killers should have to stack them to help them win games but sometimes they're forced too.

ain't that the truth

one thing that i've learned about this community, is they are VERY hard to please.

It's honestly one of the most satisfying things to happen to me as a survivor, and even if you die it still feels like a win.

No flashlight clicking and teabagging at the exit gate in your matches?
had a match as a green rank killer against red ranks last night and they did all this to me. the survivor I killed was a rank 1 so in a way that felt like a win. I just don't know why survivors feel that it's okay to bully killers like that???
-
i've had this happened to me plenty of times and it's super irritating. Sadly I don't see it being addressed.

You would not believe how angry people get when I eat their DS early then tunnel them out later.
I do not hate people like that. They are just like Survivors who hug gens when there is no slowdown. They are just playing the game in the most beneficial way for them.
eating the stun early just so you can tunnel them out later is kinda toxic. This is why I never run DS anymore because it almost makes no difference in my matches. All it is a 5 second stun and killers like spirit, billy and nurse can chase you back down in the matter of 2 seconds.

Keys are getting nerfed (hopefully destroyed) just like Mori's because they alter the flow of the game.
Also keys are not even as big of an issue as moris because survivor actually have to put in a little more effort to use them.

Alright, alright, maybe I've exaggerated here. Sometimes it is just frustrating to outplay a survivor but they get away because of Dead Hard. But maybe it should stay the way it is.
yes that's annoying I get it. But as a ton of people have said I just wait it out.

Key change the way killer play - same way by me when someone uses OoO - you can play it - no problem, but with this you got my attention to the very end of the game. Its supertoxic - All survivors complained about old good mori - but Keys allows not just one person to leave the game (like the mori) it allows everyone to escape. Its a very bad feeling the key - hatch mechanic. Even if you play like a god as a killer, you may be rewarded with [Bad word].
stop comparing moris to keys...

how about the fact that killers like hag who can carry survivors taller then her???

On a more serious note, I agree with you. I am not sure how to fix, but something must be done.
DS is being nerfed and y'all are already going after more meta perks, lol we might as well get rid of bloodlust than.
-
I don't see keys even being nerfed so I wouldn't worry about that.

I like content but there are some things that need to be fixed. Like Haddonfield really needs to be addressed because that map is a nightmare for killers.

@CheesyGuy said:
It start with %100 regression and each level of it increases it. At level 2 it is %150 and at level 3 it is %200. It is depends of the tier level of the perk.
Level 1 = %100 regression
Level 2= %150 regression
Level 3= %200 regression
Okay but how far does the gen regress?
-
I'd like to buff perks that rarely ever get used to make more good use out of them.

tunneling is also a mechanic so how is it dumb? Its only smart to get rid of the key user fast.
try to get the key user out without tunneling if that makes sense.
-
@EntitySpawn said:
BT is actually a pretty unhealthy perk. It encourages bad saves and trades. How often have you been on the hook for a few seconds for a survivor to run at you and trade, yeah you get off but the killer gets free hooks and an easy game if players do this the whole match. Great perk but encourages bad players and rewards it
There is nothing unhealthy about it just go after the hook rescuer. People really need to understand this is the only perk that counters camping and the last thing I need as someone who plays more survivor is to nerf a perk that punishes killers for being toxic.
-
The best thing you can do is equip franklins. Tunneling someone out of a match because they brought a game mechanic is kinda dumb but it's however you wanna play. I guess you could just try to get the key survivor out first.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
Piggy's traps already took a big nerf when the EGC was introduced. Back then a trap didn't have to be activated to stop you from walking out through the gate. It was quite common to save 1 trap for the end to keep someone in the match. Now it's pointless to save any.
Like others have said. Your team screwed you over but not leaving so you could find hatch. Pig doesn't need to be nerfed because you didn't have fun. No killer needs to be nerfed because someone isn't having fun.
And she's kind of a weak killer anyway so nerfing her would really draw a lot of her mains away.
