The overreactions I've seen to a perk that isnt even going to be as ludicrous as people say are quite funny to me.
Exactly, they ignore the conditions and penalty after using the perk. It's hilarious when they focus only on the invincibility part of the perk.

If there's a single dull totem left on the map by the time the exit gates are powered, NOED comes into effect.
NOED is really strong against poorly coordinated survivors (solo survivors). However, I wouldn't mind the perk also showed the auras of survivors who DIDN'T cleanse a dull totem.

@Nickenzie Rancor doesn't equal a free kill.
Also, I'm not worried about insta-down killers. Those who will get hit hard by that perk are those who are already not strong, like Trapper, Doctor, Piggy etc.
Rancor + Free aura reading from MoM = Free mori. The Obsession cannot hide when you always know where they are at.

Rancor is a ######### perk that's why nobody takes it. You're now shafted if you don't bring Rancor.
Not to mention that 4 survivors running this will be powerful enough to allow survivors to make it to endgame anyway since chases will last longer now. Just like old DS.
You'll also see where these four survivors are at and if you use Rancor, it's practically a free mori since you'll always see the Obsession's aura. Additionally, 4 hits is enough for one hook or 3 hooks if you are a insta-down killer, not too bad in my opinion. We shouldn't be assuming the worst just yet tbh.
-
I hope this is some kind of bad joke... Apparently we'll have a new perk called Mettle of Man coming with the new survivor... Another second chance perk?
The perk is fine. I think you're overreacting by calling it old DS when the perk had no condition or penalty to be used. Mettle of Man is a jail free card at the cost of becoming the Obsession, a condition requirement, and penalty after use. I'll love to see my Obsession run this perk because whenever the 5th generator is completed, if they already used the perk, their aura is permanently exposed since I never down them. Guess what's next? Rancor says hello. GG.

It's almost like being injured isn't scary, and trust me. People will figure out ways to make it strong. This perk as potential. With MoM assuming best possible scenario, you could eat quite a few hits.
Hit, Dead Hard, Hit, MoM, Hit, BT, DS.
Nah, if they use MoM then Rancor will say hello because I won't down you until after all 5 generators are completed. Note, your aura makes it literally impossible to hide unless you have Sole Survivor so you're practically dead whenever you use that perk.
-

Yes it only works once.
I checked the leaks and this perk looks really balanced, you get a jail free card at the cost of a condition and a penalty afterwards. I don't see how anyone can make this perk sound even close to OP.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
After you get hit 3 times by the killer's basic attack it becomes active. The next hit you take while injured that would put you into dying state is ignored. Highlight key parts here because it seems that chainsaws, hatchets, purge, and bear traps do not count towards activating the perk.
I should add that to the list.
Is it a once per trial type of perk?
-
My friend and I did some testing with the leaked Mettle Of Man Ash Williams perk.
Can you tell me what the perk does, I'm so bamboozled.
-
I took a peek into console’s kyf and UM all of those perks, especially MoM, sound like a sure fire way to make people who play killer not play killer anymore.
I'm so confused, can someone elaborate because I do not understand what MoM and ect...

@Nickenzie Thanks Appreciate It. After the Clown Chapter Graphics were bad and i had to take a break from headaches i'm not going through this again.
Played a few games and I don't see the difference, perhaps I should wear my glasses since they might show me the difference.
-
Ds is horrible, they are giving a slug for 60 seconds so you can not use it, it was better to use perk unbreakble now. Thank you devs for this beautiful work.
I actually used the perk and it's so good if executed correctly! I had 30 seconds on my DS and I ran to the killer injured since my DS gives me a free escape. Soon after I stunned the killer and escaped for free, not bad to be honest.

Thank you for making me laugh, so true!

I'm the only person that think since the 2.6.0 patch, the genrush has become harder and faster?
I noticed, I recently been getting 2 generators done every game whilst my teammates do the same thing. It's likely because everyone is trying out the new killer with crappy perks or they don't know how to apply pressure.

It doesn't matter how much skill she takes according to you or streamers who play this game in a sick level of time, the character is absolutely broken by design and a mouthbreaking monkey can break the game with her after like 10 hours of practice.
Okie dokie. I'm not forcing you to.

I never used OP once in my post.
But sure she only.
- Ignores every wall, line of sight breaker and pallet.
- Has an extremely short cooldown on her power compared to almost every other M2 Killer (Billy is the exception here)
- Can utilize all tracking perks as her base power ignores a core chase ender survivors have (pallets)
There are other things, but I think you get the point. I honestly don’t give a schnitzel about game balance anymore. But not calling water wet is pretty bold. Legion is still the most unfun Killer to play against, I would rather play the game breaking Nurse 100 games over than that pile of garbage once.
I never said or implied that you used "OP" in anyway. I said, "Nurse does need more counter play but she is far from being OP" to give you my general stance on the Nurse which is, she needs more counter play but I don't think she's OP currently.
Now about this here, I'll provide my rebuttal to this.
But sure she only.
- Ignores every wall, line of sight breaker and pallet.
Reasoning: She's a 95% movement speed killer, if she couldn't ignore these things then she will get looped indefinitely.
- Has an extremely short cooldown on her power compared to almost every other M2 Killer (Billy is the exception here)
Same thing with the reasoning above but I wouldn't be opposed to a cool down or longer fagutie duration. I'll talk about a possible rework to the Nurse later since I really do feel like she needs more counter play.
- Can utilize all tracking perks as her base power ignores a core chase ender survivors have (pallets)
Reasoning: BBQ is easily countered, Bitter Murmur is rarely used but if so just 99% the generator until she's distracted with something else, Rancor isn't an aura which means it doesn't pinpoint your exact location, and I don't think there's anymore tracking perks.
Rework:
I will be okay if Nurse's movement speed is increased to 110% with a 10 second cool-down on her blinks with the fagutie that comes with it. To compensate slightly, I'll like to see her auto-aim come back so newer players can pick her up more easily.
-

I was thinking of a 'Classic' game mode, which pairs the Survivors and Killers together against one another with no perks and only the 3 original maps. Maybe if the game mode has ranking too, the rewards could be retro themed skins for the Survivor and Killers, like the Retro Jason skin from F13TG, except these skins would be perhaps a bit more pixilated or something? Dunno, but that's just my idea. :)
Talking about classic, I want to see a game mode where you can play Dead by Daylight during the early days. I'm talking about patch 1.0.0 so us answers players can see how much the game changed since then.
-
@altruistic said:
Nurse was created at a time when legit infinite’s were a thing.
Instead of fixing maps, they released a Killer that could counter every infinite at that time in the game.
She isn’t hard to play. It’s actually disgusting. But there are what? 14 Killers? If you hate playing the Nurse let her sacrifice you and go to the next match.
I hate the Nurse, but they aren’t going to nerf her any more than they already have.
Nurse does need more counter play but she is far from being OP. Many streamers who play her will say it looks harder than it looks because you have to flick and predict after you learned her power.
-
So how long are devs okay with this game having COMPLETELY broken concepts?
Oh boy, not this arguement again but for your sake, I'll explain everything to you, again.
Nurse takes skill whether you believe it or not. Not only does the player has to memorize her normal blinks but also her add-ons that change her blinks if they want to dominate even more. Memory is just the first half of this killer since the other half is about execution, trust me, it's easier said than done. Even with a player who is a God status with her, there is still counter play such as breaking the chase during her fagutie or breaking line of sight to make her guess where you are at. Let's not also forget that she's a 95% (3.8m/s) movement speed killer and she has no tracking ability which makes stealth a huge counter to the nurse. Basically, you have to think like a Nurse player does in order to counter her so that's probably why you are getting destroyed by her.
-
Here's my list:
1. Doctor because I'm a stealth based survivor, not a chase based survivor.
2. Legion because his killer instinct ruins my stealth and he has absolutely no counter play.
3. I don't have anymore.
-
Which one is better?
Discordance, you get information of survivors who are rushing generators and it doesn't need a requirement to function unlike Surveillance.
-
I'm a survivor and I have no problems with NOED- -well that's a lie I don't like how it rewards bad play. HOWEVER, I don't see it as a problem.
I use NOED on every killer because it's so OP, especially when you're a decent killer. Personally, I sorta see NOED as DS in terms of rewarding failure but in my situation, it adds more insult to injury when only 2 survivor barely get the last generator done.

There are lobbies where Killers require Ebony Moris to even out the imbalances that are provided by voice communication.
Ebony Moris are also quite rare and expensive so they're not as much of a problem as items that you can casually find during normal gameplay for free.
"There are lobbies where Killers require Ebony Moris to even out the imbalances that are provided by voice communication."
You don't need an Ebony Mori to win a difficult match. Assuming you play Billy (based on your profile pic), he's pretty strong and should get a 2k (benchmark). You don't need a 3k or a 4k to win since the general aim is a 2k.
-
Personally, since I don't have BBQ, I'm basically alternating between the Legion and the Doctor and just hitting/shocking as many survivors as possible.
Nurse gives a lot of BP for landing blinks and blinking close to survivors. Really easy 25-30k BP for being a decent killer.
-
@Orion said:
So a killer perk that makes a survivor invincible? What exactly is the incentive for the killer to use this perk? And how do you reconcile this with the rules?
Well, it's free aura reading for the killer which is really strong!
-
-
New achievement: as the Legion, have all four survivors disconnect from the trial.
Survivors can still kill themselves while hooked. They don't need to disconnect.
-
Hex (Cursed Discovery):
You have a Hex connected to other Hex totems in the trial. Whenever a survivor destroys a Hex totem, Cursed Discovery's Hex will be deactivated and the destroyed Hex will become active where this Hex was deactivated at. If this Hex is destroyed first, the survivor that destroyed this Hex will be affected by the Broken Status effect for 40/50/60 seconds while injuring the survivor. This Hex cannot put survivors into dying state.

@ToxicAddiction If you don't want to get reported for doing ######### you know you shouldn't be doing, then there's a very simple solution: don't do those things. Personally, I think it's important to report toxicity because I'd like to lessen its grip on DbD. I'd go so far as to say it's the duty of every non-toxic player to report every toxic player on every game that has ever existed, so we can have nice things.
I feel like "toxic" has been used so much by our community that it lost its meaning. In other words, what you find toxic isn't what someone else finds toxic. Therefore, instead of saying "report toxic people" we could be more specific and say "report rule breakers". Before you reply, I know what you really mean by saying "report toxic people" but others might misunderstand what you're trying to say. I just wanted clear up some things so we don't get others that false report things.
-
I'm tired of playing spirit and going through the grab animation just to have the game seemingly lag and force me to attack the survivor rather than grab them giving them a free escape.
It will likely be fixed when dedicated servers hit Dead by Daylight, it will also fix things that I and many others find annoying such as being hit through a window when I'm obviously not in M1 range.
-
Literally don’t play DBD. Like, at all. Not once. Maybe play civilization
Legion needs a rework like Freddy, he has no skill curve at all. Yes there are some optimizations you can do with him but not as much as Spirit or Nurse. Furthermore, his power (during a chase) has no counter play, something every killer needs to be considered balanced. At least with Nurse, you have that potential to juke her or win a chase by taking advantage of her fagutie. Don't get me wrong, he's a great killer but his mechanics need an entire rework.

I'm pretty sure OP's scenario is different because OP is using his build to simply trap Survivors and make them think something is wrong because there is nothing in the way but they can't leave. That would be preventing the game from ending, would it not?
I think he's applying that he's preventing an unhook by blocking the basement. I could be wrong tho.

If yes: Bannable
If no: Not bannable

It ignores Exhaustion, guarantees an escape (it's 5 seconds of SB, which gives a 30-meter head start), and oh yeah, heals you. If killers had a similar perk, it'd have been nerfed to hell already.
You're obviously talking about NOED, it gives the killer a speed boost and does double damage on attacks. The perk was nerfed because it had no counter play back in beta besides stealth. Stealth wasn't good enough to counter it if you had to eventually get someone to open the exit gates. That's why it got nerfed and then buffed until we got the perfect balance between counter plays! The current NOED is really good in my opinion, especially in this "Adrenawin" meta. If you have a problem with Adrenaline, the simple solution is to use NOED perk because it does the opposite of what Adrenaline does, plus extra salt! 😋

If you dont want to heal up then good luck playing against a 115% movement speed killer that has a 16m TR most of the time (without Monitor & Abuse)
Terror radius isn't a threat to me, most survivors including me will check my surroundings 24/7. Survivors have counter play, it's called just being smart about things really.

You said it yourself, the killer has to win a chase against you, meaning there is only 1 chase instead of 2 because you are 1 hit away from being downed. Why do you think Myers power is so good when you activate it?
Being injured when you're exposed is pointless, you're already a 1-hit down so why worry about his EW3?
-
How would this sound?
At tier 3, the values are 5%/10%/15%/20% and if there's no healthy survivor remaining, great success zones will be replaced by good success until a survivor heals to the healthy state. I know my version has a higher percentage at tier 3, but I forgot to do the math on how much that actually is to be honest.
20% increases generator repairs times to 100 seconds, a 20 second increase with no bonus zones.
-
@tt_ivi_99 said:
Let me ask you a question.
How many No Mither guys have given you any trouble? None, right?
That's what not healing a health state does, it makes you useless; you make noise, you leave blood, you go down instantly.
If everyone starts using Adrenaline (which is something that already happens) just use NOED. Do you really think they'll make it out alive if they have to find all totems and do all the gens while injured? Also, how would they counter killers like Myers, Freedy, Spirit, Wraith when their power is based on getting the first hit for free? Not to mention that DS wont be a problem anymore...
I still think that 24% healing debuff should go live...
You're not a free down when you're injured, the killer has to find you and win a chase against you. Not to say that survivors who rush the generators while injured will likely equip Iron Will/Dead Hard to alleviate the fact that they are injured. Believe me, I can loop killers for a good minute while injured and I'm terrible at chases.
-
I think the following offerings can be retired, for reasons I'll explain. Fog modifiers.
I'll like to see the blood point offerings get some love because you rarely make a profit from them. I'm talking about the 50%, 75%, and the 100% in a single category offerings.
-
Make this similiar to the Leader perk, Affects all the survivors action speed like repairing, opening the exit gates, cleansing totems etc.
Yes, this is what I'm talking about, but I don't feel like a perk should force a survivor to do something. They should have a choice and as such, the numbers shouldn't be too extreme.
-

Remove Selfcare - see what happens. Everyone will just rush gens with:
- Resilience
- Prove Thyself
- Bond
- Adrenaline
Will be fun times when gens pop even quicker because survivors have no self care OR a much faster medpack instead.
You don't need to remove SC, survivors are already rushing generators because of the no-heal meta. Usually Iron Will and Dead Hard are the keys perks that makes this meta work.

Lol I haven't even mentioned balance. The only reason I responded to you was because you claimed 6 perks had no counter and then did nothing to back it up.
Moving on.
I have to agree with @brokedownpalace, the game is in a good state and is much better than before. @Wolf74 If you're still consistently complaining about perks, gen-rush, pallets, and etc. then you really need to look at yourself for improvement instead of pointing at something else. Most of times, you'll lose a game because you made a mistake, not due to a poor game mechanic. Once you reflect on your mistakes, you'll become a better killer just like me and many others. I can promise you that.
