This is my opinion about SWF: It's not that big of a deal when the developers are going to be buffing survivors to SWF level then buffing killers to compensate. :)
Also, I'm going to put this here:

Alright, so what if you could disable your own HUD in the options? This means no survivor icons at the bottom, no item/add-on icon, no status effects, and the M1/M2 prompt does not show. Why you ask? Why not.
It'll be a pretty fun idea of a challenge and i feel that as an option it would be good to have. Not sure if it was ever suggested but i also feel this option could be a way to see if having a HUD or all these icons is negatively impacting interactions or not.
Even with no hud there is already ways of knowing what you are inflicted with.
Exposed gives you a screen effect
Mangled will make you notice that healing is taking longer than normal
Hemorrhage makes you bleed at a faster rate so you will notice it if you are keen and you can infer the killer has sloppy butcher before you start healing
Exhausted will sadly just catch you during that dead hard but hey, you aint supposed to use it to dodge the hit
Protection will just surprise you
And i think thats all. So how about it? Can we see this as a feature in the game
I want this because this could bring the "horror" back to Dead By Daylight!
Also, I had an idea, this should be applied to Third Seal in my opinion! :)

Hello there, i am mainly a killer main, however i play survivor pretty often as well.
So today i went against a three-man SWF and i was the one that wasn't. Let's skip to the end game, i 99% the exit gate and some guy was hooked. The Huntress had NOED so i could not go for the save and i could not see the totem, the Nea opened the gate and she escaped me aswell. After the game the trio literally got salty over me for not saving their friend. Saying things i was a disgrace to this world, that I should quit the game because i "suck". I laughed it off saying they're probably some kids that have nothing else to do than salt in the end game chat.
Does this happen to you aswell? ๐ค
When I play my Nurse against a SWF, I usually get a ton of salt because Nurse requires a different playstyle, and SWF are typically altruistic.
Also, it doesn't matter if I let survivors live or give second chances, they still send me salt because usually, SWF expect to dominate killers.
The same can be said with Spirit and sometimes Billy as they require different playstyles. :)
-
I feel like Hex Perks shouldn't light up until their effects are active because it's like knowing a survivor has Dead Hard before they even used it. :(
Devour Hope would remain hidden till 2 tokens.
Third Seal would remain hidden till a survivor is attacked.
Lullaby would remain hidden till a survivor is hooked, or when a survivor misses a skill check.

@Rizzo said:
Because, as we said many times, there are situations where you need a way to leave the match.
For example if you have an IRL emergency, maybe you need to be able to quit a game, or if you get kept hostage by another player, you need a way out.
The issue is not leaving one match, the issue comes when the feature gets abused.
Couldn't have said it any better, people tend to abuse the power they have by avoiding specific killers, rage quitting, save items, and so on.
If the developers made a DC system, it should allow one DC per day in the case you have an emergency. Then have a ramp up punishment if they DC more often since, as Rizzo said, they are abusing the feature.

To Clarify: If it's from BHVR, but not from the official BHVR guide, it's fine! Sorry for asking again, I wanna make sure I don't mess up because I'm actually putting a ton of work on my guide! :)

Yo Luzi, are we allowed to use screenshots from BHVR, or do we need to use our own screen shots? :)

No matter how good the spot, you're still taking a risk at someone destroying it. Even the best spots can be found pretty quickly, especially with small game.
True, but I would rather have survivors look for the totem than the totem finding the survivor. :)
Also, someone had idea, but I would like one totem to spawn beside a generator, and it having an increased chance to be a trapped totem like Haunted Grounds.

Pallets affecting her blinks destroyed her? In what way?
I mean you may be right, I don't know. But I personally don't believe that small adjustments to her base kit would kill her. They'd probably just need some getting used to.
Actually, on average, pallets stop my blinks once every 3 games.
However, it's not as bad as @immortalls96 is making it out to be in my opinion because you can correct yourself with your second blink. :)

Definetly would like the devs to work on it tho. Really like the idea of "plane shifting" and magick.
Have you had an idea for a survivor ? I had a "witch" but it wouldn't match the killer.
I added a survivor as you suggested! :)

Hes playing the strongest killer, on the strongest map, and finds someone in the basement and it takes him another minute and 15 seconds to down someone after losing them out of the basement, he then camps the basement area and moris someone off the hook.
this is an example of terrible gameplay and has absolutely proved nothing.
Good point, he definitely isn't up to par with Nurse (no offense against tru) but assuming M1 killers on average deal with 60 second chases (30 secs per hit), then what?
Is there something I'm missing here? All I'm seeing is his Nurse has the chase potential of a M1 killer (again no offense to True, we all have bad games), and if M1 killers struggle, then what do you do against gen-rush? I'm not trying to ignore anything, I genuinely don't see how an M1 killer is supposed to deal with a hardcore survivor group as seen in the video.

That's just bizarre. Shows you that Ruin is pretty much a "MUST NEED" against survivors who are well experienced (Mostly Red Ranks) However, even with ruin, survivors who know what they are doing can pretty much do the same result.
This further proves my point, you will need Ruin to go against hardcore survivors. However, otherwise you don't need Ruin.

so that has nothing to do with the viability of killers, it's to do with the whack ranking system not rewarding properly, we dont need to make killers stronger because they aren't pipping with 4Ks
I know, we don't need to buff killers to compensate for a poor ranking system. However, I think that's why killers are getting upset about not getting 4Ks because it's basically required to have a decent chance to pip.
Now, back to my statement, do you agree with my most unbiased statement about Ruin? :)
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656786#Comment_656786
You shouldn't be pipping every game.
You guys have no idea, you should only be pipping when you're facing people you play exceptionally well against, if you're at rank one and the survivors are at rank one, of course you're going to black pip most of the time because the requirements are high because theres no more ranking to beat, pipping at rank one is so useless and unnecessary i don't see the use in complaining about it.
I'm not talking about rank one, I said "High ranks" and it is a problem.
I shouldn't be able to pip when I 0K, and shouldn't be able to safety when I get a 4K (no camping, tunneling, nor slugging). If you get a 4K, which is double the developer's standards for their killers, then you should get rewarded, period.
Also, yes, I know I shouldn't be pipping every game because there are times where I do terribly, I'll admit it, but it shouldn't require a 4K to have a decent chance of pipping. It's just not right.

So what you're saying is, I 3Kd with an unviable killer at rank one without ruin?
Gotcha, definitely not needed, then, so absolutely shouldn't be basekit.
I'm going to give my most unbias opinion about Ruin, and how killers are forced to use Ruin:
I feel like for the most part, killers are fine without Ruin, but when you start facing really high ranked survivors or a depip squad, that's when you're forced to use Ruin (assuming you're an M1 killer or sometimes, an M2 killer). However, since that's only in the 1% of all games, I don't think it would be correct to say Ruin is forced on killers because the other 99% of games, you can still win without Ruin.
Also, Senzu, killers need to 4K because the rank system wants a 4K rather than a 2K once you're at high ranks. I would be fine with a 2K if it was pip everytime, but apparently at high ranks, it isn't. :)

If you think a secondary objective wouldn't somehow still be hold M1 I don't know what to tell you.
Every game involves holding buttons and pressing different buttons at key moments, so we can't get rid of M1 completely. However, I can safely agree that moving around and being more interactive is far better than standing in one place for 80 seconds (rinse repeat).
Even if the second objective spilts up the 80 seconds into 20 seconds elsewhere, that's still better than sitting in the same spot for 80 seconds.

Survival rate with the weakest killer on the weakest map is 57%, and it obviously only goes up from there for the most part, if you want killer nerfs then sure, bring on a mandatory secondary objective and see where it gets us.
-insert useless text formatting-
I know, if we get secondary objectives, we would need to nerf some things on the killer's side to compensate; I agree because it would be overkill on survivors.
After we balance some things, the game will have a more healthy atmosphere to it because both sides can have fun. Survivors don't have to press M1 24/7, and killers will have a more time overall to sacrifice survivors for a 2K. :)

It's like you ignore an entire conversation and pick out something you think you have something smart to reply with.
Ouch you basically insulted me with your first and third paragraph. Not cool. ๐
You could've just sent me the second paragraph ONLY, and I would've understood what you was talking about because I obviously didn't know what your point was in the last comment.
Now, to continue our conversation, yes I understand now where you're coming from, we shouldn't use rare, outrageous experiments to balance the game around. However, I can agree from both sides that generators do go a little too fast, and I can happily say we need a second objective. :)

Well then it doesn't matter what devs do.
If you win against survivors they're just bad, if you lose against them they're optimal, it couldn't possibly be that the killer played poorly or played well.
Just admit that sometimes you play poorly, I posted a video of a killer almost everyone agrees with is weak getting 32 4Ks over a few days while using speed limiter, it's entirely the person in control and the players you face that decides whether you win or not, it isn't always "survivors are op".
So, 32 4Ks with speed limiter?
I could get dnxudnsurjwnw 4Ks as perkless Wraith with the add-on that makes your TR emit when cloaked.
We need to go by what we do know, not be something that happens once in a blue moon. :)

Personally, I don't think this is the right way to go unless we nerf pallets because we need a perfect, balanced aggressive:stealth ratio. If one side is too high than the other or both values are too high, it could be overwhelming for the killer.

"28 stab wounds" was better than this "spoon killer", whichever buff they give to Legion would make the Rank 20s cry forever, so today i came here with the perfect way to make both sides happy at same time!
They should give survivors the Deep Wounds treatment, namely, they can't see their timer, just the DW bar.

I once carried the last survivor around the map for five minutes looking for the hatch. When I found it, I dropped they only to mori them right there next to it ;-)

But i am not the sort who very much goes beyond and starts talking about threats and really horrid disgusting stuff. This game peeves us all off at some point and some point i wish to toss my controller at the tv but eh, i try just to forget, move on, string a few cuss words out loud, throw a sock at Mr Mushwin (joke) and just move on. This game i think was designed to send some of us rocking in a corner and crying into a cup of tea lol
Same here, I do get salty sometimes as well, but my salt is more physical โ I will take a break from the game.
If I'm really upset, I will say something on the lines of, "Wow, did I do something wrong? ๐คทโโ๏ธ"
However, my first scenario occurs when I get cheated out of something, happens more often as a survivor because I don't have as much control when I'm the killer.

You're not forced to let survivors go, but if you can afford to, think about it!
This is why I 3K a lot as Nurse because it doesn't matter if I 4K, I already pipped. :)
I seen many posts from you, and it's okay if you want to sacrifice survivors, it's not against the rules. However, if you are feeling nice and can afford to, then give it a thought to give second chances.
Sometimes I have to sacrifice every survivor because the rank system calls for a 4K at red ranks. However, if I can't afford to give out second chances, I usually (25% of the time) send a nice message to the survivors who I take early.
"Sorry, I need to sacrifice everyone because I'm at red ranks."
"GG, sorry for taking you out early, I needed to because it's very demanding to rank up as the killer."
If you don't want to do anything above, that's okay! However, I encourage everyone not to be a bad sport by BMing survivors such as hitting them repeatedly on the hook because it could cause them to take offense of that. The last thing we all want are people getting toxic towards each other, ya know?
This also applies to the survivors, I usually let inexperienced killers kill/sacrifice me (but they usually down me and drop me at the Exit Gates anyways โน)

Eh, top player make up like just 4% of the population, and are out of touch with how the majority of players play the game.
Let's look at the stupid suggestions top rank killers have suggested:
* Make Ruin baseline
* Make NoEd baseline
* Add secondary objectives
* Double generator repair time
All of these are stupid suggestions that would result in a massacre of blood at the lower ranks, and even in the green and maybe even the purple ranks. They are changes which would utterly decimate the survivor side for at least Ranks 10-20, which is a sizable portion of the playerbase.
The game would not survive if BHVR took the "expert opinion" of these "top players" seriously.
We actually need a second objective, it's not just a top player suggestion either because both the community and the developers thought about a second objective.
Quote from @Peanits:
It's definitely something that's being considered, but there are no solid plans I can share.
Quote from @Peanits:
We are trying to see what we can do though, but it's definitely a lot more complicated than adding a new objective and calling it a day.

I commonly let survivors go, usually 1-2 per match, so long as they aren't cocky little flashlight clickers who teabag after every single no-stun pallet drop.
last night I had a round, playing as spirit, running - Hex: ToTH - Hex: Haunted Grounds - Hex: Ruin - Surveillance... and the survivors wasted SO MUCH time trying to break one totem, eventually using a tag team to body block while they broke it.
lucky for them it wasn't haunted grounds, lucky for me it wasn't ruin. But long story short, they got decimated. When I had the last two down, I hooked one and noticed it was her very first hook... so I picked up the david and juggled him right next to her hook until he broke free.
I let him unhook and I phasewalked to the other side of the map.
they still ended up losing, but I got messages from both of them thanking me for giving them a sporting chance.
playing nice doesn't guarantee a loss, and sometimes giving someone an extra chance can go a long way to making the game better.

Honestly, if players would consider each other as people rather than just survivors or killers, this game would be a whole lot better.

I don't know what NOED is. I have Iron grasp and agitation on my Trapper.
NOED (No One Escapes Death) in a nutshell :)
There are 5 totems in every game, each one takes 14 seconds to cleanse. If there is a totem remaining by the time all 5 generators are powered, you can 1-shot down survivors.
Therefore, survivors have to waste less time on generators and do totems, or taste the wrath of NOED.
-
@OGOzSnowChimp said:
I've had that happen more then once when using camping as a tactic lol. It is what it is.
Well, it depends, if you're going to camp, I recommend NOED, Ruin, Iron Grasp, and Agitation to help alleviate the survivors' counterplay.
Survivors are forced to do bones before generators if they want to power the generators safely. :)
-
@Peanits said:
That's not really an option. If the EGC does not start, you have as much time as you want. That basically means waiting until the killer gives up, especially in instances where the killer can see both gates from a single point. This is the exact sort of thing the EGC was meant to fix.
If that happens, you, as the survivor:
- Have failed to power the exit gates.
- Have failed to find the hatch first.
- Have failed to open the gates before the collapse ends.
It's meant to be incredibly hard at that point, you already had multiple chances to escape and failed.
What about balancing the Exit Gates spawning locations?
1. Killers don't like it when Hex Totems can spawn next to a generator, and you, the developers, are looking into better totem locations as a result. Great job, this is perfect!
2. Survivors don't like it when the killer can keep both Exit Gates within their LoS, which is arguably more unfair than the first scenario. It can also go both ways โ with both Exit Gates being impossible to patrol.
Why am I bringing up both scenarios? Because they both have one thing in common, bad positioning. Both sides should have a fair chance, your skill shouldn't be limited to RNG, never.
I understand you want some things to be randomized, and I know the killer should have the advantage, but it shouldn't be a free 4K/escape, literally (I.E. Killer sees both Exit Gates, killer can't patrol both Exit Gates, and so on).
Do you have any plans to change Exit Gates spawning rules? :)

You're free to do whatever you want โ as long as it's within the game's guidelines. :)
Edit: Also, as a friendly reminder, camping gives you no map pressure, so if you're not careful, you can get gen-rushed. Which means whatever survivor you camp will be the last survivor you camp for that game, assuming it's a high ranked game.
