The issue with that is there’s a huge difference in how it’s played on console and PC. It’d be hard to win against a PC killer; if they’re good.
Maybe if consoles que’d together, that’d be fine.

Console players claim all the time that they play at the same lvl as PC, some of them will even insult you if you say that you cant compare consoles stuttery casual mess to PCs competitiveness

I would love if they implemented cross play
sadly this will never happen and the devs even struggle with the easiest kind of implementations. Dedicated servers or even crossplay is FAR down the road where we will never reach^^

Dedicated servers are coming soon and I'm not joking. It's gonna be around December for sure and I know this since the developers have been continuously saying that they are gonna add a optimization update for console but what does that mean for PC? They can't working on a optimization update for a single platform and not anything else for the PC people. That's because they are working on dedicated servers right now. I'm very very sure of it.

.. they always play with half to one second of advantage on survivors.

    Git gud.

Translation: I can't play survivor even though I have tons of advantages and meta perks as jail free cards. I feel like killers are supposed to be weaker than survivors because I'm Entitled to an escape every game. I 4k'd with perkless Freddy at rank 1 so that means killers are balanced and SWF are balanced. If you don't 4k, ur bad and you need to...

I personal think that a terror radius reduction isn't necessary. Yes, he is positioning killer, but even if he has M&A, Survivors should still be able to positioning themselves in good spot or hide. And the buffs nly make him a good in chases, not in anything else. Besides that his character model is quite large and easier to spot from far away.

Also throwing down pallets early still helps you to gain enough distance to be safe from his chainsaw swing. Especially with the cooldown added to it. The only thing that might be unclear is. Can a survivor still stun him during his swing or is he unstoppable?

No, Leather Face is literally unstoppable the moment that he starts his Chainsaw Swing meaning vaults is the ONLY thing that is keeping you from entering dying state. I'll list some things about how to counter Leather Face with these changes! First, throw down some random pallets when you first spawn in if you know it's Leather Face. This is for when you are in a chase, you can just vault the pallet and quickly make more ground without his Chainsaw Swing catching up to you. If you was to throw down the pallet, Leather Face Chainsaw Swing would catch up to you and down you since you're stuck in a long animation. Quick Vault Speed>Pallet Drop Speed

i honestly think that a pallet stun during the chase should stop his chainsaw sprint and maybe make him swing the chainsaw around, like when he hits a wall, so the pallet gets destroyed asap?
i still beleave that it would be a little overpowered if i stun him and he just keeps going, suffering no stun effect and still mowing me down...

@Mister_xD We can make a pallet stun on Leather Face to cause a tantrum (Only when Leather Face is stunned in his Chainsaw Swing) because I can easily mind game the survivor and fake when I'll go past the pallet. Then as they drop it, mow down the pallet and the survivor. :)

I'll change my idea! Thanks for the feedback!

  • I think his terror said his should be 16 meters in the first movie he pops out of nowhere alot so I think it would be interesting for a surprise chainsaw killer.

@ThirdSealOPplzNerf Here's the thing I'm afraid of: My buffs make Leather Face unstoppable, even pallets can't stop this beast. Imagine Leather Face coming out nowhere and getting instantly downed since ya know, he's unstoppable, he's a positioning punisher. I designed Leather Face with my changes to be a killer that if you're in a bad position, your kissing the floor period. With that potential, survivors need that preparation so they can position themselves. However, if survivors are being warned too much that he's coming, they can reduce his terror radius down to 24-32 meters.

    Both need fixed.

Survivors need bigger hitboxes on console and the aim assist needs to be adjusted to account for low fps.

wOAH tHERE! No way do hitboxes need to be bigger. You can literally look up a dead by hitbox compilation on youtube

    Disagree

you can walk into a hallway with another survivor and you would be sandbagging them even though you clearly arent touching them. Big hitboxes are good for vacuums but there are no pallet vacuums so they should reduce the hitbox size.

I'm cool with this if killers get smaller hitboxes as well since if a survivor gets a smaller hitbox, they will be able to cut corners better during loops.
  • @Nickenzie Probably suffering from the windows 10 update problem? When I preform actions it makes my game freeze up. Apparently the only way to fix it is to revert your windows back to like November 2017. Not really worth the effort. But it freaking sucks. Even if I swing at a survivor right iin front of me. The frame drop will make me auto miss them. Pretty tiltiing. Then when I'm playing survivor a killer will hit me and I'll frame drop into a wall and lose the speed to get away from him. :(

@GrannyonAcid Oh sorry for the confusion, I play on console but I do have a PC and you need a really good graphics card to have a smooth running game, especially on Dead by Daylight.

Dont you guys agree? I think that is a clear bug and so ridiculous, just try in real life to move like that lol

If you’re getting 360 by survivor on pc you’re still a “ baby” killer on console that’s acceptable because of crappy fps
I thought I was bad until I realized that my FPS is literally garbage.

Better hold off of your DC bans until you fix this. Still an issue a month later. Infuriating. Lost offerings and addons.
I never had this happen to me before but I have been kicked to the Xbox dash board from the loading screen. Yes, it is very VERY annoying to lose 5 Bloody Party streamers on the offering list.
  • @Nickenzie Aside from the terror radius thing, this would be cool.

1 question though... would the screen just be completely black around the 24 meter mark or would it be very blurry?
    It would be completely black.

    Except SWF.

It could be like a hex but you won't get a direct notification that you are infected. You'd need to look at yourself and see if your survivor character has any symptoms or odd behavior.
  • Tsulan said:

I think it´s some kind of Frankenstein type experiment. We might even get Frankensteins monster as killer. Or at least something inspired.

Imagine a killer that can infect a survivor with the blight and they would need a cure before they get overwhelmed by the blight. If they are overwhelmed by the blight no other survivor would be able to tell until the killer controls them, the killer can control the survivor for 25 seconds and their movement speed is at 115%. The survivor can down other survivors, pick up, and hook them just like a normal killer. This would be cool since now this adds trust issues!

Blindness is actually VERY useful, but you have to build around using it.

Try running these perks sometimes and going for a slug build:

3rd Seal, Knock out. ToTH, and whatever perk you like.

Go Nurse, Spirit or Hag so you can defend your totems. The goal is to slug and blind each person.

Hitting with the 3rd seal makes it so you cannot even see the auras of downed allies. Knock out is a good stop gap for that until you've managed to give everyone a little love tap.

Yeah, Third Seal is very strong if used correctly but it's to hard to gain value from, especially if it's SWF because the downed survivor can be their GPS to them.

I just don’t like your suggestions, you asked for opinions so deal with them.
I changed the blindness effect a little, I worded it a little better so you can understand what I was actually trying to say. Additionally, you ignored and didn't tell me if you liked the part where I said "You can only see 24 meters around you, nothing beyond that, period" Tell me what you think after you read that.
Is there even a bubble when blindness is in effect? I could absolutely be wrong but I’m sure there isn’t one at all.
Yes, there's a big black bubble that EVERY survivor can see even when they are blinded. I want the bubble to be removed when you are blinded so you can't tell where a survivor got hooked at but currently it's not removed and it ruins the point of blindness.
Effects are supposed to be hinderances, not game enders.
Out of curiosity, have you ever heard of the "exposed" status effect? Hindrance, sure.

Additionally, not seeing far away, losing your ability to hear the terror radius, and losing your aura reading ability doesn't mean "GG". Most killer add-ons that have blindness last for 30 seconds usually and 30 seconds is too little:
-If you are attacked with a blindness hatchet, you can still SEE the killer and losing your ability to hear the terror radius doesn't effect you.
-Not being able to see far isn't required when in a chase, you're supposed to look at the killer and not the sunset.
-30 second blindness is rendered useless overall since it doesn't have enough time to actually hinder the survivor.

If you had Hex Third Seal:
-After a survivor gets off a hook, they won't know if the killer is coming by the terror radius and they can only see so far.
-Auras are blocked and getting off the hook is almost impossible if every survivor is blinded.
-However the Hex can be destroyed at any time and can render your perk slot useless.

Exposed usually has pretty harsh conditions attached to it, but if you want to call exposed a game ended then it must be overpowered and made weaker.

not everything has to be super effective against survivors, playing killer isn’t as hard as people on the forums make it out to be, I’m sure you can do fine without buffing everything to the moon and back.
So, not being able to see past 24 meters and not being able to hear the killer's terror radius is buffing it to the moon and back? Ok. Blindness is Dead, like no one ever uses it and I think that you don't want it buffed because you don't wanna see more variety. The only time blindness (My version) would be a problem is when the killer has everyone blinded but again, the Hex can be destroyed at anytime.
  • @Nickenzie said:
-Blinded survivors cannot hear the killer's terror radius.

    What's your opinions and feedback?

    This makes literally no sense.

I think you need to explain how being effected by "blindness" would remove the characters' ability to sense the Killer being nearby.

    Because your "Senses" are blinded.

  • Is this related to Hex third seal? Cuz if got my third seal 4 stacks the game is pretty much over, unless they found my totem. Seriously, even swf groups on certain maps struggle to find the slug
Eh, you have 4 minutes to find them and heal them before they bleed out. Basically, Blindness needs something!
  • SenzuDuck said:

    @Nickenzie said:
Title, the status effect is basically the same as if you didn't have it on you. Sucks, I really wanted this perk to be much much better and all it does is disable your auras. We need to make the status effect better by doing the following:

-When a survivor has blindness and another survivor gets hooked, that blinded survivor will not see the black bubble animation around the hooked survivor.

From what I understand blindess as it stand currently prevents seeing where the survivor is even hooked, let alone the black bubble. (Bubbles on hooked survivors are for the benefit of the killer so the survivors can't see exactly where they go, by the way)

-Blinded survivors can only see 24 meters around them until their vision is blocked by darkness. Blindness tiers (I, II, and III) can reduce how far a survivor can see before darkness prevents them from seeing any further.

"until their vision is blocked" are you implying that blindness would be a progressive effect that actually stops the survivors from seeing? Yea, no being blind in a game the relies so heavily on taking a correct path sounds illy.

-Blinded survivor's auras are disabled meaning they cannot see any auras.

Is this not already the case?

-Blinded survivors cannot hear the killer's terror radius.

Blindness making survivors deaf as well as not being able to see (as implied by your post). Sounds like "why would a killer run anything but blindness applying addons).

    What's your opinions and feedback?

I think, considering the hook thing and the aura thing are already part of the game you just want blindness to make survivors deaf, and to not be able to see, sounds not fun at all, i absolutely hate being blinded on the game, to also make it deafen you (lol?) and so you actually can't see Id be highly against these changes.

I'm taking about that you can only see 24 meters around you, nothing beyond that, period, I'll change it to make it more clear. About not hearing the killer's terror radius, most blindness add-ons that the killer uses only last for 30 seconds. If you are blinded by let's say the Huntress' hatchet's add-on, it's still not gonna be a big deal since you already know that she's there, you don't need a terror radius indication to know that. My changes makes blindness strong when you have it for long periods of times so you'll never know if the killer is coming, you can say that your senses are blinded. If you don't like the deaf idea then where was you at when Myers came out?

I don't care about the bubble, get rid of it when you are blinded because it renders the blindness status effect pointless when you can where a survivor been hooked at.

Canker Plants may give us a hint that the developers are adding a secondary objective to the survivor's side. If they add a secondary objective to slow down the game then Ruin would need to be nerfed to keep games from lasting forever.

    How about… NO(?)!

Because the game is still to fast even WITH Ruin.

And survivor could always decide to ignore secondary objectives, like they did it with totems.

My games have been on average 10-15 minutes long without all 5 generators being completed. If there is a second objective then Ruin would need to be changed since no one likes 30 minute games, just saying the facts.

About the secondary objectives, they can make it where survivors can't ignore them like they can with totems. Maybe generator parts?

That's just because the survivor are greedy AF!
If they would actually TRY to escape, nothing would have changed, but most survivor are ahole atm and just harvest plants and let themself get killed.
    Nothing like real games.

Your right, they are greety! That's why we need a secondary objective that survivors CAN'T ignore. Then if the games last for too long with Ruin, it can be slightly nerfed, I don't want to hammer nerf Ruin.
  • makayla said:

I feel like there should be a required secondary objective to do. If there was something similar to the plants added, survivors would just ignore them like totems.
If the devs were to add a secondary objective, it would need to be something the survivors HAVE to do before they even touch generators. Perhaps fueling the generators with randomly spawned gas cans or something. If/when the devs add an objective the survivors HAVE to do before they can touch gens, Ruin could possibly be nerfed depending on how the games go. We'll see

I'm not wanting to hammer nerf Ruin, just a small nerf to prevent games from lasting 30+ minutes and if 4 generators are remaining. Then you and the survivor will be playing hide and seek world championship which is just super boring.

Fr? That’s bull crap. I thought it was a great addition because it’s quite unfair to be hit without a chance.
They shouldn't reward farming by giving the unhooked survivor a reboot in exhaustion and i-frames. Instead they should punish the unhooker with the exposed status effect when they unhook a survivor and the killer is within 12 meters from the hook.

You are being delusional (No offense) because you assume that we want everything for free when really we don't want to get everything for free in this event. We're just saying that 3 pieces is not enough, it's not even 25% of the total cosmetics available in the event. We feel like we aren't getting the full effect of this event because 86% of the cosmetics are locked away by cash. If we could get at least 6 cosmetic pieces for free then that would be enough to make the event feel more special than being a event that wants your money. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind to pay money to support BHVR but I feel like they are crossing the cash grab line in this event just a little.

    I'm happy with the event.
We'll get more than ever. People forgot what we got during the last events. Scorching BBQ was 1 hammer for Billy and a top for Kate.
Now we get to choose a full set, or can mix the pieces.

People completely ignore that the devs spend a lot of work and money on this.

Devs could have given us a pumpkin head like last year and keep all the skins behind the paywall.

But no, they rant because they can't get everything for free.
@Tsulan Hello, I feel like you are being delusional about the situation:

You can only get 3 (14%) of the total 21 cosmetic peices by grinding and the other 18 cosmetic peices (86%) is locked away by cash. I don't mind to spend money on BHVR if it's reasonable to but if they could just increase it to where you can get 6 cosmetics for grinding (28%) or make a exponential ramp in vial cost as you buy more peices then that would be perfect. Don't get me wrong, I'm very VERY thankful for what we got and believe me, I'm gonna enjoy this event like I do the other events.

There is no reason to cap the number of vials that players can earn during the Hallowed Blight event. Why? Because the Event is already capped by TIME. You can't get any more vials after Nov. 2.

So, this is a significant PR mistake that BHVR is making here. By capping the number of vials that players can earn, they are capping the incentives to continue participating in the event. This, in turn, is already generating some ill-will among the player base.

Your players want to play their little bloody hearts out and be rewarded for it.

    You should let them!

Generating bad sentiment is the exact opposite of what you want a free event to do.

For example, compare how this Hallowed Blight event is being received by the players to how the "free" XCom 2 content patch that was released a couple weeks ago from FIRAXIS was received. The catch there was that the patch is only free for a limited time, but the player base absolutely LOVES them for it because there was NO CAP on their playtime.

See the difference BHVR? Show some love for your players and they will show you some love back.

(And, yes, I am a professional game developer with over two-decades experience, so I do know a thing or two about Developer-Gamer relations).

I agree, not everyone has a lot of time to play DBD and the cap just adds more insult to injury. I seen someone else say that they should increase the amount of vials required to buy cosmetics:

25 Vials Per Cosmetic Peice: For the first 3 cosmetics peices bought from the store.
50 Vials Per Cosmetic Peice: For the next 3 cosmetics peices bought from the store.
100 Vials Per Cosmetic Peice: For the next 3 cosmetics peices bought from the store.
200 Vials Per Cosmetic Peice: For the rest of the cosmetic prices.

To grind every single cosmetic peice, it would cost 2,925 Vials. This would take a while to grind but players are rewarded for putting the time into earning the full 7 cosmetics sets 21/21.

Ignore the complaints. Its good that the costumes will be more rare this way.
As a console peasant, I never had a chance to earn Lagacy skins since I never played the beta and that was okay, I was able to get over it. Now seeing these skins appear to be almost like Legacy skins, I can actually feel a grin on my face since it's now possible to earn something that's close to being a Legacy.
  • Play killer?
    Play survivor?
    Some blend of both?

Kinda curious about how you plan on filling vials for the event.
Play killer to fill my vials up since you have no one to rob you of your blight. Killers have a easy objective to fill up their vials and to make it easier, I'm gonna use iron grasp and agitation.

I start to drool on the floor when I see the Huntress skin.

I fail to see how any of this makes losing more fun. That is the entire premise of your post.

    * My vision is really blurry... weeee?
    * Now if I fail a skill check on the hook, I die! Go me!

Seriously, what part of anything you posted is "fun"? Here is an example of what might make the dying state more fun. Instead of just sitting still holding a button to progress your recovery, you could have a Tetris screen show up and your progress is based on when you destroy rows. If you set the difficulty high enough and get 4 rows at once then you get to go to the injured state.

Now I'm not actually suggesting players on a hook or bleeding out should play some kind of mini-game like Tetris. I'm simply making a point that your suggestions do absolutely nothing to make losing more fun.

    Consider the following please:
-More visual effects that make the game more interesting and fun when in a bad situation.
-More options while in dying state.
-More fun hook changes that give you more control when losing.

Additionally, why are you so worried about missing a skill check while on the hook? Are skill checks difficult for you because they are certainly not for me. Perhaps you need to familiarize yourself with generators and practice more often?

Overall, this just makes the game more fun and interesting when in a bad situation.

I think you and I have very different definitions of "fun". Blurry vision is the opposite of fun. Dying randomly because you missed a skill check is not fun. The med kit while dying thing? Meh, whatever. It would make 0 difference in most games and again... not fun.

Most of these changes feel like nerfs to survivors being sold as "fun". My vision gets all blurry, now it's harder to communicate with my team what the killer is doing! Yeah, fun! Ooops, I missed a skill check and died! (massive buff to unnerving presence btw) Yeah, fun! What do the survivors get in compensation? You can blow your med kit for no reason when in the dying state. My biggest objection is the use of the word "fun". If you didn't try to sneak nerfs in and sell it as "fun" then I wouldn't have wasted my time on this thread. None of this crap is going to happen anyway, so daydream all you want.

Yeah, you should just calm down and stop getting so heated, these are just ideas. The skill checks won't be affected by debuffs such as Unnerving Presence and Huntress Lullaby. Additionally, many people been asking for skill checks instead of a constant button to hit since it can extend the lifetime of controllers and keyboards. Again, if you are worried about missing a skill check:

However I will bite with my rebuttal, lag is a ongoing issue and there's nothing much that you can do. You can also argue that the struggle button can lag and also kill you instantly.

Regarding your hook changes, how would slippery meat apply to your unhooking changes? Would is just be slightly extra luck while attempting, or allow the survivor to attempt for a longer duration? If it's the former, that would just make it copy-paste with Up The Ante. If it's the latter, that is fine.

    Question 1:
How would slippery meat apply to your unhooking changes?
Slippery Meat will add 12 more seconds to your struggling animation before entering phase 2 (Struggle). This gives you 24 seconds of struggling to unhook yourself.

    Question 2:
    Up The Ante?
Up The Ante and all luck bonuses will be reduced by 75% since we reduced the 4% to 1% which is a 75% decrease in luck. Having Up The Ante tier 3 with 3 tokens will give you a 10% chance to unhook yourself very second if luck WASN'T reduced which is OP.

Yes, make Losing more fun! I often see survivors get really upset whenever they are tunneled, slugged, camped, and etc because well, it's not fun! So, I'm gonna suggest some ideas on how to make losing be more enjoyable.

Sooooo.... This is a good theory. Make the game suck less when you lose (should apply to killer and survivor). Everything after this point though, not sold. Won't make a a difference.

Again, more interesting options and effects will make the game more fun when in these certain situations. Yes, my ideas aren't perfect but will still add some interesting moments when they would rather be infuriating.

Additionally, if losing is more fun and less frustrating then the killer can receive more buffs to make them more fun.

Sad truth, I get around 4 DC's every 10 games. Not much but that is four games ruined by people who DC to derank or just have a baby fit moment.
  • Do you like being slugged though?

According to my experience, survivors get really salty when you slugg them and if they they bleed out, its like world ends

I actually liked being slugged, there has been many situations where I would've been sacrificed since I'm on my final hook but the killer gives me another chance to be rescued by my survivor teammates!
