Either make decisive strike basekit or something because the amount of killers that just turbo-tunnel and follow you for 12 seconds after an unhook for a free kill is getting on my nerve. Just played a game where the same teammate farmed me twice and I went from a 1 and a half minute chase for the first hook only to have the killer get the second and third hook stage after 30 seconds. WE NEED BUILT IN ANTI-TUNNEL.

Fine - then we also need built-in anti-gen rush. Make Corrupt Intervention basekit

Pinhead high kill rate because the lack of coordination from Solo team over his passive power I believe, not his ability

Yep - exactly. He is OP against solo Q because either nobody is getting the box or everybody is going for the box and not doing gens. His mechanics expose the giant imbalance between solo and SWF because of how powerful communication is for survivors

My cosmic brain prediction is that Scott did this as an experiment. Lots of people fell for it, and were overjoyed about the good changes BHVR were making, only to be bigtime let down when it was found out to be fake. But I think that was the point: Scott's making a 5head play to create an artificial pressure by viewers for BHVR to actually implement the changes listed. He's shown that the changes will be positively received by the community by all the people expressing their disappointment that they aren't legit, which incentivizes BHVR to actually commit and make them knowing they'll be well received.

The problem is that some of the changes have been suggested for a long time (e.g. removing perk tiers, giving killers bonus BP as incentive to face SWF, base kit kindred for survivors, etc). It’s not like the devs are hearing these ideas for the first time and are like “wow, those are great changes - we never thought of those!”. They’ve been getting this feedback for a long time and have intentionally chosen not to implement it for whatever reason

Making a thread generalizing the whole "survivor community" does not help the cause. There are no "survivor communities" or "killer communities" lmao, we are all just randoms sitting in front of a screen pushing buttons. We can play both roles and preferring either one over the other does not define us as anything. I'm sorry that you have to deal with these kinds of things, but the truth is it has nothing to do with them choosing to play as survivors, trolls will be trolls no matter the side they play on.

If people want a better community just report toxic players and don't feed the trolls. Let them talk trash in chat for 4 more minutes while you go to the next match.

Well said. Game would be far less toxic if everyone followed this advice. The reason trolls exist is because people feed them

  • The saddest part is that a lot of these changes would be great for the game and could have been implemented long ago. I don’t agree with all of them, but there are a good amount of them that have been suggested on the forums many times and would get near unanimous support from the player community, yet BHVR for whatever reason has refused to make the improvements. Sad…

    "Overperforming"

    Aka

Solo Qs get stomped by him, especially when he has the hoarder/franklins combo - which is why the box solving addons are the ones being nerfed

Since PTB everyone knew Engineer's Fang was a bit much but BHVR likes to take the 'wait and see' approach sometimes

This. He’s awful to play against in solo Q. If I’m playing solo and get matched against him, I don’t even bother

  • @Iliketoplaykiller said:

I was watching ohtofu last night and he brought up the current state of killers. Tdlr he essentially was saying that killers are being babies because mmr is doing it’s job. I mean sure we’re not 4king every game but a lot of us are still 4K at least 50+ percentages of our games. The mmr is working as intended and putting us against skilled survivors, the way it should be. Kinda was a wake up call to me personally and gave me more perspective on the games I lose. Instead of thinking the game is inbalanced (which I still think it is to a certain degree) I took tofus advice and now am thinking more or less what I did wrong during my matches instead of thinking this game is just 1 sided.

Just my last piece of advice I’d like to leave all my killers out there is unless your getting paid to play this game (content creators) why do you care if you lose? Sure it’s annoying to get teabagged / Bm’d but it’s not worth working up a stress over this game.

“Why do you care if you lose?”

Can we ask survivors that same question? I play both sides and I’ve seen this question posed a lot toward the killer side but really not much toward the survivor side. Both sides deserve to have an expectation to win, but unfortunately with SBMM and broken boom totems, the balance is as bad as it’s been in a long time and needs some adjustment

  • @sluc16 said:

When I play survivor, and I did not survived the match but I did pip, I consider that a win for me.

Juat wondering if others think the same.

Yeah, if I don’t escape I am happy with a pip and consider that a “win”, especially if I helped others on my team escape

If we hear a mumbling that we wont understand whats the point of that? Confirm they are SWF?

The solution is put comms for everyone and treat all players as comms team.

I agree with others that the most “fair” solution would be to give everyone comms and balance killers around that, rather than the status quo which is basically just sanctioned cheating. Problem is that lots of people don’t really want to talk with randos online (myself included), so while it sounds like a reasonable solution in theory, I don’t think it would work well in practice

  • @DieGräfin said:

I don't like SBMM because if you play in my region after 8 or 9 pm, the matchmaking throws you in every match. Most of the time with new players and new killers too. Or sometimes a killer with one perk (maybe a daily challenge)

Sometimes with experienced survivors and the killer don't have any chance and that's not really fair.

During this time there is no SBMM

The old system works better after 8 or 9 pm.

Same here. On the now-rare occasion that I suck it up and play killer during peak hours, there are so few killers that want to play against the large concentration of SWF sweat squads in the evening that I get matched with whoever. I usually end up dodging some of the lobbies because half the time I’ll load in to a full premade lobby who are already “ready” status because the previous killer also dodged their lobby.

SBMM during off-peak hours is much better

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

Like for real, waiting nearly 10 minutes to find a match at night is too much. And even during the day It can take up to 2 minutes, at times. And when trying to find a match with friends, regardless of time during the day, it can take up to 15 minutes not even joking. The waiting times are getting worse than how they during pre-MMR.

Because nobody wants to play killer, especially in the evening when it’s a much higher % of coordinated SWF seal teams. Survivors are getting the easy games they’ve begged for and this is the result

  • He’s annoying AF to play against in solo q. Either everyone is trying to get the cube and nobody does gens, or nobody gets the cube and it’s endless chain hunt for the whole match. But against coordinated SWF he’s an M1 killer with a pretty crappy ranged attack. Kind of sucks that his viability depends so heavily on whether survivors are using comms on not

  • @asirirsprime said:

Personally, when I load and I see 4 people already waiting for my killer, I skip the game and look for other one until I get something looking like a group of randoms

Yep, me too. I play killer, solo q survivor and SWF and there is absolutely a huge advantage with SWF on comms. Anyone who says otherwise is not being intellectually honest. Not all SWF are amazing seal team squads, but coordinating on comms makes any team better no matter the skill level of the individual players. I’m an ok not great killer, so I typically get matched against decent survivors. Solo q or two-man SWF tend to be good, fun matches while against 4-man SWF I’ll get a 1K if I tunnel and camp, 0K if I follow survivor rule book. I have no problem with people playing with friends on comms (I do myself), but to pretend that it’s not a significant unfair advantage is laughable

  • Sluzzy I think you just need to play killer instead 😂

  • @Ume_Ito said:

Seriously, there's no real point in a DC penalty on the player to discourage such behavior when they can just kill themselves first hook and throw the game anyway. I've noticed a constant trend of this, survivors go down too fast on their first chase, go against a killer they don't like, etc, and just immediately burn their three chances and let the second phase take them ASAP.

It's really infuriating to not even have a chance because of selfish survivors just any%'ing their sacrifice on the first hook.

You can’t force people to try. If there’s a “suicide penalty” (not sure how this would be validated or enforced) then people will just go AFK

....And I find that it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be - Approx 60% Escape Rate

I never get facecamped multiple games in a row, have 10+ game losing streaks, get bodied by NOED, etc.

Certain challenges (mainly Glyph + Escape and Survive + have X people Escape) can lead to ME throwing the game to try and get them, but most of the time I lose, it's my own fault.

I honestly feel like the constant exaggeration of certain issues makes it way harder for the devs to implement actual/meanwhile fixes.

Current Builds for anyone interested...I hardly ever bring items

    WOO/Dead Hard/SC/BK

    SW/WMI/Lithe/WGLF

    QQ/HO/Detective's Hunch/Inner Strength

First off....i am aware no one cares

They'll just say i was not good enough even though i was a red rank killer. Killer after midnight is a horrendous experience. The trolls are "expletive" people. I mean, i'm pretty damn good at this game. And it zaps the fun out it in a millisecond.

again...i am aware no one cares

But what if someone is just trying this game. What if they're a really cool person that just wants to check it out. There's no chance they turn it on again. It's not like this is the only game out there.

If you completely play the game the right way and someone gets the better of you they NEVER just leave the exit gates. they wait to taunt you....Why? Because they're such good streamers helping the gaming community? No, because it makes THEM feel better about themselves to make someone else feel beneath them.

again...i am aware no one cares & no one agrees. They'll just say i was the worst red rank out there.

But how can NO ONE acknowledge this? How can everyone just pretend all the trolling is just part of it?

I'm good at this game, i'm good at other games. It never occurred to me to make someone else feel worse because i could do something.

So everyone keeps telling me the killers aren't quitting...i guess it's just me. I had friends drop out of this thing & i'm hanging on because i could see the good in the game. It's just not worth it, guys.

I'm aware this is just going to get lost in a heap of threads that everyone scrolls past. I just felt something needed to be said other than how awesome this is & tell me your favorite perk & color and all that garbage. The truth is this community has too many bullies in it and it's disguised as gameplay.

So again...i'm aware no one cares.

One more dedicated killer signing off that they're just going to say couldn't hack it

I hear you, my friend. I used to play killer about 75% of the time but now it’s more like 25% of the time because it just sucks most of the time now. BHVR has intentionally made this game very fun and easy for SWF and very difficult and not fun for everyone else. Once you get to a high enough rank as killer you’ll be matched mostly with pro-loopers and SWF teams with coordinated perks and comms.

Anyway, I do still play killer occasionally and this is what has helped me not quit completely:

    • Don’t play killer at night or other peak times. It will be mostly sweaty SWF squads and you’ll just get frustrated as they loop, gen rush, teabag, flashlight stun, pallet stun, etc because they’re all on comms
    • Dodge SWF lobbies
    • If you do run into a SWF that are being toxic, just focus on tunneling them out one at a time. I find that usually slows down the game quite a bit because they’ll often be overly altruistic trying to save that one teammate
    • Enjoy the matches that are actually evenly matched and if you are stomping a team or someone DC’s, back off a bit and be nice and farm some BP. I usually let one or two go in these kinds of matches. I’m happy with lots of BP and don’t care too much about killing everyone as long as it was a fun, fair match and survivors aren’t being toxic
  • @Erak said:

Almost 5500hrs and 745 Million Bloodpoints took it to get every Charakter to Prestige 3 with all perks.

And the completion of all characters is getting more difficult with every new chapter that gets released. Because you have to level 2 new characters and equip everyone else with the new perks.

I don't even want to know how it must be for a player who just started this game recently. It is almost impossible to get the perks you want on the character you want to play. Especially for newer killer players that rely on good perks it is really difficult to learn a new killer and enjoy that learning when you can't get proper perks to have even the slightest chance in competing with full loadout survivors.

I know it is not necessary to prestige and it is also not necessary at all to level every survivor. But I'm also not the "general" player. And the grind-problem for newer players is not that enormous but still insanely big.

You get more BP now with the tome and other events and codes, but it's also the leveling prcess alone that probably took 50 hours or even way more for a player like me.

I don't understand why we aren't getting rid of the different Perk Tiers, the differences between the tiera are already almost not noticeable after many perk changes.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/05GCKI1YJAJY/dbd-characters01.png

The reason nothing has changed with the grind is very simple: the devs don’t want to do it. They’ve ignored the numerous complaints about it, and there’s really no incentive for them to make any changes unless people stop playing. Player numbers are still historically high, so I don’t think they’ll make any changes to reduce the grind for the foreseeable future.

  • @GannTM said:

Because it’s an effective tactic? You do gens fast at the start so why can’t killers slug when it’s necessary?

Killers must obey survivor rules (no slugging, “camping”, “tunneling”, etc) but survivors can play however they want

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2633053#Comment_2633053

This sounds sensible but when you think about it...isn't.

If killers are just supposed to give up and meme around because it's not possible to really 'win' on certain killers against certain tactics, then it means that something is busted balance wise.

This. Now killers shouldn’t expect to win. The only way you have fun is to not care about winning and just be there for the survivors’ enjoyment.

I’ve switched to playing survivor during peak times, but of course my queue times are now super long because nobody else wants to play killer either.

  • I have hundreds of these useless add-ons my inventory. I wish the devs would rework all the garbage add-ons or at least let you trade them in for partial BP recovery but they will never do it. YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE THE GRIND

No new kill rate information has been released since the anniversary event, to my knowledge.

Personal experiences don't have enough data points to make any reasonable conclusions about the overall state of the game.

    This^^^

You can’t draw any conclusions without the stats. It would be great to see kill rate for different MMR ranges. I would expect kill rate to be pretty high in low MMR and much lower in high MMR, but we don’t have the data so who knows 🤷‍♂️

  • Same here. I play both sides and killer has been way more miserable since SBMM came out and survivor has been way easier

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I know they said they are working on grind nerf, but would double BP weekend once a month kill them or something?

Did the devs recently mention something about the grind? Honest question - I’ve been waiting for the devs to say anything about the grind, but I don’t follow DbD news super closely, so it’s possible I missed something.

The solution is very simple and easy to implement. Eliminate perk tiers and also allow partial refund of BP for cashing in useless items like the 500 brown flashlight grips I have in my inventory. Devs haven’t done this and probably won’t do it because the grind keeps people playing more and spending money. It won’t change unless more people quit because of the grind.

  • @Rey_512 said:

BHVR probably thinks making a huge grind is a way to keep players coming back for more in order to unlock everything on everyone (kind of like someone who keeps watching a bad TV show because they’ve already invested so much time in it).

I have very little hope that they actually care about the grind frustrations.

They don’t. There’s no incentive for the devs to reduce the grind. They only thing that will change that is if too many people quit the game, which hasn’t happened yet

  • He’s not that hard to play against. I’m not a very good survivor and I think he’s mid tier at best. Windows and jungle gyms are tough for him to deal with. I also play as Bubba quite a bit and good survivors can loop me easily.

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

If you don't play killer at all then that means your MMR is like 1200 or whatever the starting is and you're going against literal babies.

This. Let us know how things go when you get to high MMR…

  • The ridiculous grind has been a problem for a long time, but the devs haven’t said anything about it for very good reason. They know that the grind makes people spend more hours in the game and thus are more likely to spend money on cosmetics and DLCs. It’s nothing evil or nefarious, just a business decision. It won’t change unless they see player numbers drop too much and attribute the drop specifically to the grind. I hate it too, but I haven’t quit the game because of it (yet) and probably won’t. Sigh…

  • I definitely notice more rare items in the blood webs of my P3 characters. The difference is not negligible in my experience

Well 8-10 on this forum were talking like dbd was doomed and bhvr had a real pr nightmare, 2 days after dbd is closed to its all time peak

I don’t think a lot of people realize what a small percentage of the total player base actually contributes to the forums. And this small percentage is not representative of the player base as a whole - it’s just mostly the really pissed off complainers and the occasionally moderately pissed off ones like me 😂

  • @ion_eyes said:

80% or more of the threads on here are complaining survivors are too strong or killers are too strong. Or they're announcing how Behaviour is killing the game, or how they're never going to play this game again.

Why not just uninstall the game and move on? Why does everyone have to be dramatic about it?

If you want the game to improve because you want to continue playing it, then constructive criticism is always better. But I know that doesn't get replies, so getting triggered gets attention, and people do it for the attention. But does it ever actually lead to changes in the game?

I recently made a post encouraging people to buy DLC and cosmetics to support the game because despite its faults, it’s still a really fun game that I love to play. I’m being positive!

  • I agree that killers should be able to destroy rather than only temporarily snuff out noon totems. But it should take longer than 2 seconds to destroy. It’s ridiculous that survivors can infinitely relight totems and killer can’t do anything except wasting time returning to snuff it out. Survivors can permanently take out hex totems 30 seconds into a match, and it’s not like a killer can relight another hex. Either allow killers to relight their hexes, or allow to permanently destroy boom totems seems like a fair balance

  • We can’t have totem defense perks anymore because then nobody would buy the DLC.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

NOED, Corrupt, BBQ? Those perks don't hold a candle to what survivors have got.

NOED - the #1 complained-about perk by survivor mains. I personally never use because it rewards bad play and is a crutch perk. Would rather learn to win without it

Corrupt - lasts for two minutes and then you play rest of match with three perks

BBQ - several different ways to counter and also discourages camping

Not super convinced that these are way better than the survivor meta perks

  • Ok I’ll use your one data point to change my mind based on all the matches that I’ve played so far 🙄

  • I agree. Killer was already way more stressful after SBMM came out. Boom totems have made playing killer an even more miserable experience. I appreciate BHVR’s attempt to introduce something new and exciting into the game, but with this one I feel like they don’t realize how OP it is in the hands of skilled survivors and good SWF teams. Survivor mains are going to continue to say “it’s fine”, but we’ll see how they’re feeling when their queue times are unbearable because nobody wants to play killer at high ranks. Maybe I’m wrong, but we’ll see…

  • I am definitely going to stop playing killer during peak evening times. It was already super stressful with the new SBMM going against nothing but sweaty SWF and pro loopers with 2,000+ hours in the game. I guess I won’t be playing survivor during peaks times either because queue times will be even worse now that playing killer has become so unfun.

    Do them bones.

Survivors have had to put up with this with Hex Totems for ages. Survivors also had to deal with Killer Stealth getting buffed so things like Alert, Kindred, and the purple key crystal don't work. There are people who ran Kindred + Openhanded only to find that two of their perks are thrown off just because they went up against a Wraith or a Wallhacking Myers.

It's finally great to have the same options as a Survivor.

A boom totem perk that can be infinitely regenerated is not the same as a hex perks that can be permanently destroyed
