They changed LF not that long ago so hopefully he's not on the chopping block for a while. Personally I like him and playing against him.
Trying to get out of the basement against LF is scary, as it should be.
Scary is good in survival horror.
If survivors complain enough, he’ll be nerfed

Nothing wrong with that. We’re just supporting the game for different reasons. You do it because you like the skins. I don’t really care that much about the skins but want to support the future of the game. Either way, the result is the same and it helps keep the devs employed

Eh, I don't think this kind of behavior is healthy. If you are going to purchase something purchase it because you like it, not because you want to "support" a company. They really don't care about that and most probably don't need it, this game is already pretty financially stable.
I like the game and want it to continue, that’s why I’m happy to throw some money their way after playing for three years without doing so. Do you think the company would be financially stable if nobody ever purchased DLCs or cosmetics? How would the company earn revenue to pay their developers, other than from people purchasing the game itself (which is relatively cheap at $20 on Steam). The only reason the company is financially stable as you say (not sure how you know that for a fact, by the way) is because people spend money on the game even after they purchase it for the first time. If financially supporting an activity you enjoy is “unhealthy behavior”, then yeah I guess I and most other people on this planet are guilty :)

- Unbalance of SWF vs killer, especially at high MMR where killer has basically no chance unless you are god spirit or nurse
- Ridiculous grind
- Sounds like cheating has been bad lately too, but it’s been very rare in my games

Mine usually spawn right next to a generator

Already done. Haven’t played killer in quite and definitely not coming back after recent updates

I'm not very satisfied if I'm honest.
I feel like it's gotten a little better, but it's still far from perfect.
A week ago i had an evening in which i had a nice / good team in almost every game.
Beside that evening it happens to me too often that i just get really bad teammates.
How about you?
It’s been a mixed bag for me, but in general it’s a much better experience as survivor. Killer on the other hand is a different story…

I stopped playing killer for similar reasons. I kept getting matched against survivors way above my skill level. Queues have also been much quicker for survivor as well, which is weird because killer queues were way faster for me before SBMM

Welcome to another survivor main!
So, killer became absolutely agonizing and frustrating to play where you can only bring few meta perks to have a slight chance to win and with usual killer nerfs also I decided instead of paying for killers and their cosmetics which BHVR does not care about clearly, I will just pay for cute skins for survivors (Kate and Feng <3) and play only survivor. Why not?
P.S. Sorry for making those survivor queues a tiny bit longer.
Former killer main here - I’ve done the same
-
killers should be able to open the gate and then escape the match
-
Yep. Once you get to a level where you’re matched against 4 competent survivors, it’s really tough to win. I switched from mostly playing killer to mostly playing survivor since MMR began and it’s been much more enjoyable and I play solo queue.
-
I used to play killer more but I’ve had way more fun playing survivor since MMR started. First, killer queue times for me have gone way up and I get almost instant survivor queues depending on time of day. Second, as killer I was playing against survivors that were way above my skill level and it was super unfun. I was tired of playing super scummy to get 1-2K. The only benefit of playing killer was more bloodpoints but I’d rather have more chill, enjoyable matches as survivor.

but not only was undying nerfed one month into it's existence but killer's without MOVEMENT abilites like : ThiccHead , Hug , Pyramid schemes , Nemisus (idk how effective their zombies are at getting people off gens) , IrishSlinger , [Redacted as per Netfix's request] etc.
if it's an issue with it making the endgame more of a pain here's a solution : Run Deja vu and do your best not to 3 gen yourselves sevenheads until you break the habit. Or alternatively you could AGRESSIVELY co-op gens - hide close to the gen and wait until the killer chases your buddy to immediately hop back on the M1 simulator.
change how you approach a situation to deal with the perk rather than asking for a perk to be changed to deal with your stubbornness
I stopped running ruin/undying a long time ago. Every match it would get destroyed after about 2 minutes, with the totems often spawning right next to gens. Meanwhile, whenever I go up against it as survivor then totems are always in super hard to find hiding places
-
Depends on time of day. Afternoon is maybe 3-5 minutes. Evenings it’s pretty much instant matches (I play in US eastern time zone)

i'm not telling you what to do.
i'm just hoping there is enough of a consensus that BHVR finally decides to actively prevent camping, instead of attempt to discourage a completely valid, yet unejoyable, winning strategy.
If you’re facing a good, coordinated team - what else are you supposed to do? By the time you hook first survivor, at least two gens are done. Let’s say killer plays by survivor rulebook and goes as far away from hook as possible. During the time it takes to find and hook another survivor, another gen done. 3 gens done, 2 hooks. Since I’m not allowed to tunnel or camp, I have to go find one of the two survivors I haven’t hooked yet. Meanwhile, the two survivors that have already been hooked are happily working on gens because they know I can’t tunnel them. Those last two gens get done easily by the time I hook the other two survivors and then GG get t-bagged at the exit gates.
I realize that a majority of matches don’t go this way, but at higher ranks a lot of them do. Killers have to play scummy because it’s simple math - it takes far less time to complete 5 gens than it does to play “fair” and get three hooks on even one survivor without tunneling or camping

What's your rank and where do you play? I play US eastern time zone and I didn't have to wait more than a minute for my macthes

HEY DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT KEYS - DEVS ARE GOING TO REWORK THEM!!!!
/s this is the counterargument I always get whenever I complain about survivors getting their free escapes. I play killer about 60% of the time, and the other 40% I play survivor either solo or SWF. I never bring keys because I don't want to escape the cheap, easy way.
-
I didn't have to wait 15 minutes, fortunately. If you're waiting that long AND getting matched against rank 1's - that's just sad. I just switch to survivor and enjoy a nice relaxing time not having to sweat after matchmaking like this...

So first things first, I'll start by saying I LOVE that bloodpoint rewards are coming with the monthly reset. It's a fun reward to look forward to once you top the charts, if you top the charts. My question now is, what are we doing to reduce it further?
As many of us know, 250k bloodpoints gets slurped down like it's a keg at a frat house and it isn't really a lot, despite being half a million bps. At a max leveled killer, that is maybe enough to get them through 3-4 blood webs, which is 8 perk ranks out of 198 perk ranks total. Sure it's delightful to get 8 perk ranks, but that's still nearly 190 perk ranks to go. Mind you, this is only on ONE killer out of the 25 killers we have in game. Add in the 27 (soon to be 28) survivors in the game and that's 243 perk ranks, not including what it takes to level other survivors to get their teachable perks.
So to this end, my question once more appears... What is being done to reduce the amount of grind that there is in the game?
What is being done to reduce the grind? Nothing. Devs have been silent on this topic for a long time despite it being brought up frequently on the forums. I don’t believe they have any intention of making changes to reduce the grind. From a purely financial perspective it won’t make sense for them to do anything unless they start seeing player and revenue losses and attribute those losses directly to people not playing because of the grind.

Pop. I’ve had countless times where I’ve been able to kick a gen that was almost done and then chase survivors off it and have it regress back to half or even all the way to zero. Multiple pops on one gen is very satisfying too. It’s also nice to not have to worry about losing a perk slot 10 seconds into a match
-
@Anara said:
Many people complain about gen speed since the rework, and ask for balance.
Imagine the game remain the same but there is 8 generators on the map instead of 7 and we have to do 6 generators to activate the exit gates.
Would it balance the game or make it worst ?
I think this change would make solo q next to impossible. I play mostly killer and the only time gens speeds are a real problem for me is against SWF. Their coordination on comms is an unfair advantage that breaks the game. With coordination via comms, each survivor can start the game going to a different generator. If the first survivor doesn’t get downed quickly, then three gens are done by the first hook and it’s pretty much game over for the killer already.
With solo q, unless you’re running specific perks you don’t know where your teammates are, what gens they are on, who is going in for hook rescue. That uncertainty serves to slow down the game when the first survivor is hooked. In SWF, that built-in slowdown factor of uncertainty is negated by their coordination .
I think a more reasonable solution would be to increase gen repair times based on the number of SWF on a team.

Similar idea has been proposed countless times, along with the idea about removing perk tiers. Unfortunately, the devs don't care and don't intend to change anything about the grind.
Yep, exactly. Lots of good ideas have been proposed for reducing the grind but the devs have not so much as acknowledged the complaints about the grind. They won’t do anything about the grind until people stop playing because of it, which hasn’t happened on a large scale yet

Clip of last game:
https://outplayed.tv/media/aMXYzR
So normally I don't care if there's a facecamp--sometimes its all a killer can do in order to get a kill towards end game, it happens. But in the tiers of like 14-10, if I see a Bubba player... they're 100% gonna face camp the first person they get on hook. If not a facecamp, then they will directly stand on the staircase above basement and guard basement.
But its not just the facecamp--its them literally slugging and beating us and using chainsaw on us the ENTIRE TIME we are on hook. Like for 0 reason. This game our first player went down while on a gen, didn't loop him or anything, no pallet stuns, just got unlucky. She was hooked and we got a gen while she was on hook. Our 2nd player got downed while trying to bait out his chainsaw. I got downed trying to pick him up(our fault here was my friend didn't crawl far enough away from Bubba, he had gotten downed maybe 10 feet form where our 1st friend was hooked) so I ended up getting downed as well. Long story short--and as you can see in the clip--we lost.
Im rank 12 right now and at this point the ONLY strategy is to abandon our teammate. This doesn't feel like a strategy honestly, and the ONLY 2 killers I see doing this are Hillbilly, and Bubba. Thats it. If it was a real strategy then all killers would be able to utilize it in some way. But what bothers me more is they almost always just slug and rave chainsaw on us while we're hooked. He did it to our first player, and as you can see did it to me. Like I hadn't even seen this man most of the game while I was getting the 2 gens done--so IDK what his problem was.
This feels so massively unsportsmanlike and its literally only Bubba players that do this. Hillybilly is like the slightly nicer version who just facecamps. But Bubba? Literally will just slug you the entire time you're on hook.
I don't see how this is allowed in game, or deemed a "strategy" by anyone. Again, I know we should just ignore the hooked player--but imagine this as a solo match, it's completely unfair for the 1 person that got hooked they have 0 chance to play at all and will likely depip because of an overabused playstyle.
Thoughts, comments, anything? Because I really cant stress this enough--if its a Bubba, I 100% know how the game is gonna play out.
I play Bubba as killer (maybe about half the time) and I don’t face camp unless the survivor is being super toxic or they brought a key. I don’t find that strategy fun or effective for getting a 4K, and you also don’t get many bloodpoints. So, if you don’t bring a key and you’re not toxic, you’ll get get a fun match against me 😀

I'm thinking about putting dead hard back in my solo queue build but I'm not sure about the reaction I could get from using dead hard. I know it's a controversial perk. So I have to ask
Will killers hate me If I use dead hard? Am I a bad survivor if I use dead hard and should I even use it?
It shouldn’t be controversial. It’s a perk that’s in the game, and that’s it. I don’t understand the hate against DH because it’s not that tough to deal with as a killer (I play killer most of the time). Use whatever perks you like and don’t let anyone make you feel bad about using it!
-
I play killer probably about 2/3 of the time and in my experience gen speeds are really only a big problem against coordinated SWF teams. If you don’t get a down fairly quickly in you first chase, three gens are gone and it’s a huge uphill battle to get more than 1 or 2K after that. I’d love to see a small nerf to gens speeds depending on how many SWF load into a match. Against solos, it’s much more manageable as they aren’t able to easily optimize their gen progress

Yes I'm new to the game so be it. Going to vent so feel free to leave if you're one of these campers and believe you're a tactical player.
I just played ~8 games in a row where the killer either hard camped a player or hovered near them to prevent safe unhooks. 9 times out of 10 this causes the player involved to get to 2nd phase without a chance to play the rest of the game. This is just in the early parts of the game, where maybe 1 or 2 gens are fixed. Sometimes no generators have been touched and the killer gets a lucky spawn. Then decides they will camp the body to win the game for free. Yes, for free.
4 years this game has been around. I know it's a dying game but we can see the obvious reason. If you won't balance the game for players and killers alike then people will quit playing. I'm frustrated so my point of view is biased, but not so much that I can't see how incredibly beneficial it is for the killer to simply pick a player and chase them for the whole game. Or camp them on hooks.
Especially when this could be easily resolved... and force the killer to have 60% slower actions within a radius around the hooked player. Slower movement speed is included in that debuff. Slower time to check lockers, slower time to vault, slower time to break pallets... everything should be slower.
Why is it so simple to force the killer away from the hook but yet camping is seen as a viable strategy? I guess if I get camped that means I can do the same when I play killer... but I'm telling you, that makes the game incredibly boring. No one else likes the camper and it just feeds a negative mentality, which of course eats itself and builds a very negative community around it.
I don't even care if there's not a single person here who is against camping. It is bad for the game. Don't leave it up to the community to correct this problem. 4 years in the making and this could have been fixed 3 years ago now. Such ignorance should not go to waste.
But the game is dead, so people are glad to see it waste away. Very disappointing.
A dying game? June had the highest player count ever on Steamcharts, but ok…

Now I'm not talking going head-over-heels for Survivors and using every moment as a chance to help them, but just show some friendliness where you see a scenario ripe for the picking. Just last game as Ghostface I had someone getting me to force-hook them (which I prefer over them DCing) and then I had two of their teammates down only about a minute and a half later after I stalked them both on shack gen... so I closed hatch (didn't want to have the game ending super quickly), messed around a bit, and then committed to the usual non-stalk chase. After downing them, I didn't hook them. As you may have suspected, I carried them halfway across the map to a gate. They stopped wiggling once I walked straight past two hooks, and then I let 'em get the gate.
Now, I know plenty of us do this already, but you're not sacrificing much by letting a person go or not always playing for kills. I literally spent five minutes of that game just messing around. That's what some people need to get; this is a game, and you should have fun. Now whether or not you classify being nice to Survivors as linked to that fun or detrimental to it, you cannot deny that having nice Survivors makes you happy when you get them. So, just return the favour every once and a while if you don't already.
It isn't too hard to ask. Majority of us do play for fun, after all.
Also, I can see these comments igniting with loathing for my cause and just otherwise brimming with non-related discussions, so, please, as per the forums rules... keep it civil and respectful. I appreciate it. :)
If there’s a DC or I’m just stomping the survivors early, I’ll usually be nice and let one or two farm and then escape unless they’re being toxic. I hate being sweaty when there’s no need to be

killer was fun at the beginning, now it's just a sweatfest, all the time. It's really so aggravating that The devs in this game are so ignorant to what goes on when you're a high ranking killer.
There's too many overpowered survivor perks compared to killer perks, Some killer perk benefits are so horrible it's laugh worthy, they make you work so hard for the tiniest reward when you look at it.
Maybe if they actually balance out the way killer plays and adjust the maps so every chase isnt a loopathon, and get rid of bloodlust, it's just not fun gameplay for what it's supposed to be. I'm tired of playing spirit or some other killer that's strong, they don't actually take a look at why theres a small list of killers viaable in high ranks, it's cuz most suck eggs compared.
Yes, I play killer probably 60-70% of the time and I feel this way as well. I’ve been playing a lot less frequently lately because of how sweaty and stressful most games are, especially against coordinated SWF teams. If you don’t get a down quickly in your first chase, 3 gens pop and it’s basically already game over. It’s just not enjoyable at all. I haven’t read through all the comments but I’m sure there will be plenty of survivors telling killer mains to stop complaining, git gut, etc. when many of them have never played killer at higher ranks. Hope they enjoy long queue times or playing against bots because more and more killers are going to reduce their play time or quit altogether if some of the balance issues don’t get addressed
My most enjoyable games have against skilled survivors that are not in a coordinated SWF (I.e. the way the game was designed to be played). Playing against solo potatoes and stomping them is just as unfun as getting stomped by a good SWF. The main problem is SWF at high ranks as most killers stand zero chance
-
I’ve enjoyed playing the game for several years now, but I’ve been getting increasingly frustrated with the ridiculous grind which hasn’t been addressed or even acknowledged as an issue by the BHVR team. Even something very simple like removing perk tiers would greatly improve things. Until there is at least something done to make the grind less awful I’m unlikely to spend money on the game

😂 this sounds very familiar. My OP SWF team consists of me who (has by far the most hours, is ok but not great but at least know what I’m supposed to be doing); Friend #1 who uses kindred and empathy while playing SWF because he “likes to see where we are”; Friend #2 who likes to often hide in lockers and will crouch motionless whenever he hears the terror radius, even if I tell him someone else is being chased; Friend #3 barely plays, runs into wide open dead zones when entering a chase and never lasts more than 5 seconds before being downed.
Also, none of them have learned how to look behind them during a chase no matter how times I yell at them to do so

Just don’t play at peak times. If you play during off-peak times, you might get one or two really good solos, but rarely the rank 1 SWF sweat squads. It’s no fun and they know even good killers don’t stand a chance against them due to the unfair advantage of comms
