Both sides I only play underrated perks and fun builds I cant wait to see the meta perks nerf.

Every games I see players getting rewarded by second chance perks even if they play very bad.

The actual meta dont reward good play.

I love seeing player getting bait by my underrated perks, nobody expect it and it makes the game more skilled and fun.

I hope to see sometime dbd in a state where everybody play only the perks and builds they like and not because it is the meta.

My biggest wish, I dont know if it can happen, is a point where there is no meta at all in dbd.

To the devs : thank you and dont listen to people who will cry about the nerf of their favorite meta perks, just do it !

We need to destroy the meta to have a healthy game.

1). They didn’t say anything about “nerfs”. Just “changes”

2). Nobody knows when or if these perks will be changed. I’m not optimistic it will be anytime soon or ever for some of the perks

I know it's been said several times already (after all threads like this pop up on a daily basis) but I still think the devs haven't gotten the full message yet. A planned Dead Hard rework is nice and all but WHEN can we really expect it? 3 months down the road? Or even 6 months?

Why can't you disable this extremely problematic perk until your solution to the issue is ready? It's absurd how every single match features four instances of this perk being used, it's driving several killers insane. One survivor recently told me to "anticipate it". Yeah, I definitely can anticipate them using DH to extend a chase by another minute but that doesn't offer me any real counterplay nor solace.

The perk is the equivalent of a third health state, it's singlehandely dictating the meta. It needs to go. There aren't enough options for killers to apply exhaustion; Fearmonger is worthless if survivors already let go of the gen the moment they hear your terror radius and Blood Echo requires you to injure everyone beforehand.

Ever heard of the saying "death by a thousand papercuts"? This is what Dead Hard does to you, day after day; match after match. Wanna know the definition of insanity?

BHVR won’t do anything about it unless enough killers stop playing the game. If you really want things to change, that’s the only way to force it to happen.

I try to play killer at night, but games are rough. I don't mind losing, but losing every game isn't fun either. I tend to play killer more in the mornings on the weekends as I feel it's more balanced... I win some... I lose some. Queues for survivors are long due to more people playing survivor. I mean once I lose too many at night, I switch to survivor as well.

I have the same experience. My games playing as killer during off-peak times are far more balanced and enjoyable. It might be one or two 2-man SWF, but not the constant 3-4 man SWF I get during peak times (evenings)

Sucks. I have rtx 3080 and i9-10900k, this shouldnt happen with a game which isn't even visually that impressive.

It’s kind of sad that you can have a nuclear submarine PC rig and the game still runs like garbage. The performance issues keep getting worse with every patch. In every other game I play, patches usually fix performance issues but BHVR manage to do the opposite. Really disappointing that there was no mention of addressing performance issues in the live stream. I guess they’re not going to do anything about it until people stop playing the game.

The penalty is legitimately less than queue times.

True, but it’s not like you can take the penalty while waiting in queue. You have to take your 5 minute (or more) timeout and then start your 5 minute (or more) survivor queue.

I do think the upcoming change to incentivize players to pick a certain role will help. That was suggested a long time ago - shouldn’t have taken so long to implement

  • I agree that when a survivor DC’s the game becomes easy mode for killers. However, it’s quite a stretch to say that that the game *in general* is easy mode for killers. Once you start going against players that are competent in utilizing broken loops and tiles in certain maps, or going against coordinated SWF teams, the game quickly swings to being very survivor-favored

First game someone gets hooked and then unhooked the killer tunnels her and she disconnects and 20 seconds later the next survivor gets downed and disconnects.. The 3rd survivor gives up and and stops for killer to die but no killer is greedy and slugs her then scans the whole map for me so I don't get hatch like only 1 gen done and killers are greeding to get 4k? even 2 survivors disconnected and 1 gave up?

Second game is even worst a different killer same ######### someone gets hooked and unhooked and the killer is tunneling her off hook like the first game and she disconnects the I get hooked and unhooked and same thing killer is coming to tunnel me and I'm dead and imagine writing ez in post game chat when survivors are disconnecting ??

Your whole 4 min system is a joke everyone is disconnecting every goddamn game for the tiniest inconvenience and when 1 survivor leaves then it's so difficult to do any more gens. SoloQ is hell no one is doing gens no one helps you when you get hooked and everyone disconnects often and it triggers chain effect of other disconnects .. What's my fault in all of this? killers are scummy tunneling and face camping everyone even after dc's . If swf players are toxic and god like then killers are victims but not at all try playing high mmr soloQ it's only tunnel this face camp that slug here slug there ... Do something to punish everyone that disconnects and ruins games a 4 min penalty doesn't scare anyone and it doesn't ramp up that quickly.

Secondly I hope the new perks and updates announced will address these scummy playstyles it's 0 fun to spend the whole game face camped and tunneled.

DBD is unfair and miserable for soloQ survivors.

Update : 4th game so far and every killer I went against tunneled anyone that got unhooked.. and another 1 dc because he slugged. I just can't ... wow I don't want to play either role anymore yikes I'll take a break.

Opened this thread and was immediately disappointed to see that Sluzzy wasn’t the OP

[ANNIVERSARY CHAPTER SPOILERS INCOMING, DO NOT READ FARTHER THAN QOL CHANGES IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE CHAPTER SPOILED!]

Hey guys, it's your friendly neighborhood Adam main, and I wasted time watching the anniversary stream instead of finishing my exam studies lol.

    Ok so, here's what happened:

    Balance Changes:

It was said that roughly 40 perks on both sides will be changed.

Gameplay Improvements and QOL Changes to the Game:

Preset loadouts: You will now be able to preset loadouts and make loadouts and you will no longer have to individually equip perks! This will go for cosmetics too.

Matchmaking Incentives: You will now gain extra bps to play as the most needed role for that server.

The new Role menu, the menu will now be vertical. Check it out in the PTB now!

Prestiging can now go past 3. Prestiging a character will automatically unlock their perk on all characters.

Game flow refactor: While waiting for a match, you will now be able to check cosmetics, check archives, check the store, etc.

Archive update:, you will now be able to have both a Killer and Survivor challenge equipped at the same time. You will also be able to view full Rift Outfits.

Bots: Bots will now be able to be implemented into a custom match.

Streamer/Anonymous Mode: The premise of this is to make players feel safer in game. You will basically be able to you know, just completely remove names from your matches to keep everyone safe.

The beta tabs will be permanent.

Console Optimization: The team plans to implement console Optimization, but they said they need more time.

    Mori:

Renamed the finishing Mori, once you down the last Survivor the Mori will immediately start. Moris will be removed. RPD will also be reworked.

    New Killer and Survivor+ Power:

New Killer is The Dredge. His power allows him to teleport to lockers.

When teleporting to a locker, he leaves behind a remnant, which can be returned to by pressing the attack button.

New Survivor is Haddie Karr. Y'all know her from the lore lol.

DBD will also have outfits from Attack on Titan. This could mean that we could expect collabs from Bleach, Demon Slayer, Naruto, etc.

    New Killer and Survivor Perks:

    Dwight's outfit:

He will cosplay as Eren Yeager.

Zarina will cosplay as a character I can't remember.

Oni will cosplay as an Armored Titan.

The new chapter name is Roots of Dread.

The new Map revolves around a city that seems perfect, but the residents are hiding something dark.

Haddies perks are: Overzealous, Residual Manifest, and Inner Focus.

Overzealous: After cleansing any totem, this perk activates.

You gain a 4% generator speed boost, this effect goes away after losing a health state by any means.

Residual Manifest: After blinding the killer, the killer is inflicted with the Blindness status effect for 30 seconds.

Inner Focus: You can see other survivors' scratch marks within 32m of you. If a teammate/survivor loses a health state within 32m of you, you will see the killer's aura for 5? seconds.

The Dredge Perks: The New Killer, the Dredge's perks, are:

Darkness Revealed, Dissolution, and Septic Touch.

Darkness Revealed: When you open a locker, any Survivor(s) within 16m of any locker's auras are revealed for 3 seconds.

Dissolution: 3 seconds after injuring a survivor, Dissolution activates, for 16 seconds. If that survivor vaults a pallet while Dissolution is activated, Nea will break that pallet.

Septic Touch: Whenever a survivor does a healing action in your Terror Radius, that Survivor suffers from Blindness and Exhaustion.

These effects linger for six seconds after a healing action is performed by any means.

New Map: The new Map is the Garden Of Joy.

New Map Offering: the Ichourous Loam

Honestly, this whole stream was nothing more than the same “we’ll be making changes soon™“ meme that has been ongoing for years. It’s incredibly easy to keep telling your audience “just wait for the awesome stuff we have coming!” and not actually follow through on any of it. Maybe I’m being unreasonable, but I’m getting pretty impatient. A lot of what they announced are basic changes that 1) shouldn’t take much time or effort to implement and 2) things that a lot of players have been asking for for years.

If you all of a sudden got excited about the game because of yet more empty promises, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. I hope BHVR proves me wrong this time.

  • Nobody is talking about it because, as usual, there were no details given and all they said was “soon™“. We have no idea when or if there will be any changes made. The whole announcement was a giant nothingburger.

  • @Raccoon said:

    The suspense is killing me!

There it is. Every single salient point about Dead Hard made, and every single asinine counter argument utterly destroyed and fed to the Entity.

Why this perk is still in the game is a mystery. I can only assume it is because its removal would kill content creators and lose more players. The game has not had a mechanic this busted since old Moris.

I'm so sick of people that respond to every criticism of Dead Hard with "But that would make the perk worthless", as if that would not objectively make the game better. YES. DO IT. Pummel it until it is worse than Technician, for God's sake.

It’s no mystery why it’s still in the game. Most survivors rely on it and can’t win without its. Yea, I said “most” - it’s regularly used by more than 50% of survivors, especially at higher levels. If it gets nerfed, a lot of survivors will leave the game and BHVR knows this.

  • You have to use a VPN because BHVR can’t provide basic security in their game

This actually confuses me a lot. I personally like going against Huntress because her chasing is quite unique and outplaying a good Huntress is always so satisfying. But I recently read a post about "who is your least favourite killer to face". And to my surprise, I saw many people say Huntress.

Why? Is it because you can get hit around corners because of the servers? Or is it something more?

I like going against Huntress. I’d take Huntress 1000x over Legion (super boring), Pinhead (OP against solo Q) or Hag (just don’t like going against her)

Please read before you make fun of me.

I feel like BHVR had new devs who are in charge over what happens with the game. I've had this feeling after the RE chapter and I'm still thinking about this sometimes. Just think about everything that happened after the RE chapter: SBMM was added, Cheaters and Bots have been a huge issue(It has never been this bad), Optimization has been really really bad and the game has lost an insane amount of players in a short period of time. It makes me worried, it feels like someone at BHVR is trying to kill this game. Why? Maybe they work for another company and try to eliminate any competition. Anyone else felt like this or am i just going crazy?😅

I don’t think there are any nefarious intentions. There’s just no sense of urgency whatsoever to fix problems with the game. The player count, after falling dramatically from its peak, has been holding reasonably steady recently. This game has no serious competition. As long as there’s no existential threat to the company, they will continue to take their sweet time making changes that people are asking for. If you really want quick change, stop playing the game.

  • Don’t worry - it will get fixed in three month

It's like that almost every game. This game has become un-play-able. And of course I will still lose Pip and MMR because I guess it's my fault. And the worst part is that BHVR doesn't care.

I sincerely hope that Evil Dead will be a good game.

I played 5 solo queue matches tonight and escaped every single one. Most everyone else got out in those matches too except the match with a face camping Oni (#########?) I am not a great survivor player. For whatever reason I kept getting matched against bad killers and teammates were overall pretty good.

I’ve found that solo queue goes in streaks for me. Sometimes it’s great like tonight, other times it’s what you showed in your screen shot. When it’s bad I go take out my frustration with a few rounds of basement Bubba 😂

  • @NemmyMan3000 said:

You guys will get in a hissy fit about legion and say he/she is boring but dont get bored of Nurse or Blight or Huntress!?

I just had 2 surv DC and rob their teammates. Like why!? Its ONE killer that needed this buff. I dont understand how he/she is the killer that everyone should immediately say is boring and just DC over as soon as you get hit by a frenzy. However, Huntress boring broken hitbox hatchets, Nurse defeats every aspect of looping, and Blight just gets the upper hand for catching you before you can even have space to breath.

Why not accept the meta of killer change instead of playing against the same top 3 killers forever?

Because I don’t see Nurse or Blight or Huntress 2 out of 3 every matches like I did with Legion right after they got buffed.

Also, the other killers you mention aren’t designed around making matches last as long as possible. Legion is the worst to play against because it’s just a never-ending cycle of mend/stab/mend.

  • @kaneyboy said:

literally match after match same perks legions :) same thing after same thing ughhh

  • @Sally_S_gay_son said:

I play both sides but the number of threads from killer mains complaining how most of the survivors are toxic and the only thing they are facing is bully full stacked meta swf squads who will deny you a single hook is getting ridiculous, it's literally the only type of discussion here.

I completely understand how awful it feels to get bodied by a team who will then rub it in your face, we all have been there but people who play killer are just as bad, because it's not really about the role, it's about people feeling the need to make other people feel bad.

Yesterday I was playing solo and I was playing with a random 3 man squad against a mending simulator and after we got 3e they asked me to play with them, after a while one of them left and the rest of us decided to play with no mither. and meme around

We got into a match with a pretty bad spirit - since NM gives you no pools of blood and a nerfed iron will it actually works against her but you just have to not greed pallets that much they were super lost and we managed to smash all 5 gens with 4 of us still alive. The spirit got the 4th rando in the basement and we knew it's either 3e or we all just die, 2 of my new friends came there and got downed and I was standing at the 99 gate and was just screw it, I came to the basement and willingly gave myself in, it was a fun match for us since all of us got some good chases.

After the match the killer started insulting us, writing gg ez and how we are trash at the game because we lost while on comms ( I was not on comms with them).

THe person legit threw a fit even tho they 4k'ed and were playing against 3 No Mithers as effin Spirit, it was so embarrassing that I legit laughed out loud.

Killers are just as salty and awful as Survivors because it's just humans being petty they lost at an unbalanced party game, so please do not take it that serious.

(I play both sides as well) The only thing I “villainize” survivors for is waiting at the exit gates so they can teabag you before they escape. That’s childish and unnecessary toxic behavior. Everything else - the same meta perks every match, abusing broken loops and map layouts, using comms, etc - are all things that BHVR has built into the game to make the game less fun and competitive for killers. Survivor players should be able to use whatever is available to them in the game without being criticized for it. It’s the devs’ fault for most of this, not the individual players.

  • @Bartlaus said:

I don't know about you, but this week my killer match making is not working as intended.

As I've already mentioned in other threads, I've been playing as a killer very relaxed for quite some years because I don't wanna sweat to win. I want chilled casual games. Since I don't care about the count of kills, I hardly ever camp or tunnel. I think having a good match with exciting chases is the real win for me.

When MM was still based on the old ranks, I preferred to play in the green and purple ranks because I simply had the best matches there. Relaxed survivor and less toxicity. So with the new MMR I made sure not to kill more than 2 survivors. This has worked quite well for me so far. My opponents weren't noobs, but they weren't hardcore Chuck Norris-Death-Squads either. They were somewhere in between. Gens are always made quick, but at least I always have the chance to get 1-2 kills in a relaxed way (without camping, tunneling and extreme gen defense).

What has changed now? Well, I've only had to play against the A-Team for the last few days. People who just seem to want to break their gen rush record. Some were very toxic and they definitely knew what they were doing. They always played with the best perks and I had some 3-4 SWFs. I thought the first 5 matches would be no problem, there will be chilled rounds again. I haven't gotten more than one kill in 20 matches now. It also doesn't matter if I play killers that I'm very good or very bad with. These people I can only beat when I specifically camp and tunnel and also play the strongest add ons and perks. But I refuse to do that.

Btw my Solo Q experience still hasn't changed. I can survive 10 matches in a row and still get matched with unexperienced survivors.

So my question to the devs would be if the MMR for killers is still kill based and am I just unlucky?

    Have you had similar experiences?

It’s been pretty clear for a long time that SBMM doesn’t work, especially during peak times (evenings in my US eastern time zone) when there is a large deficit of killer players in the pool. This is the time of day when there is the largest proportion of sweaty SWF teams like the ones you’ve been going against. The SBMM system won’t make them wait a long time to get matched with a killer within their MMR range - it will just grab the next available killer regardless of MMR. This theoretically means you should also get matched against potatoes occasionally, but sounds like you’ve have a bad run of luck only getting pro-level opponents

  • @AhoyWolf said:

With the new anniversary getting closer, do you think Survivors could get something that isn't just a glorified loading screen?

Every single thing other than chase is just waiting in one spot for X amount of seconds, wouldn't it be more fun if Survivors actually had to travel the map? For example get something from point A to point B? (other than themselves of course)

Or maybe some new minigame that isn't just modified skill checks.

    What do you think tho?

considering that when killer players kept asking for secondary objectives for survivors and the devs gave killers a secondary objective (boons) instead, I wouldn’t count on it

  • Dead zone in the middle, but every house has god window loops and there are like 5 hooks in the whole map.

  • I’ve had more performance issues with this patch than ever before. It kind of feels like things are going to slowly keep getting worse and worse with every patch unless the devs actually dedicate some serious resources into a major Game Health patch. For the past six years it has just been bandaid solutions and plugging one hole only to see three more holes open. Is there any good reason why the same game should perform worse over time on the same hardware?

I killer main. I play fair. I don't camp, tunnel or slug.

There’s your problem. Why do you think it’s “unfair” to slug survivors or down someone more than once in a row or play zone defense? None of those things are unfair.

Yep, this. Your problem is that you’re playing against good survivors who are using every advantage they have to win, but you’re not doing the same. It’s not surprising that you’re getting stomped. Start slugging, tunneling, camping because these are all legit and necessary strategies to get kills at higher levels.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Why is it a skill issue if someone doesn't enjoy a 15 minute deep wound simulator?

You can be the most skilled survivor ever and it’s still not fun to go through the match constantly mending. The whole premise of this killer’s design is to make matches last as long as possible - that’s why Legion are so boring to play against. You might get all the gens done and escape, but you’re also probably going to have a 30 minute match. The problem is bad killer design - it was true before the buff and remains true after the buff. Least fun killer to play against besides maybe Pinhead in solo q (but at least those Pinhead matches end quickly).

  • @Kokujin said:

I only have the game for the past 3 months. And this morning I had 2 Killers as lvl 1. I decided to lvl Pig to 15, so I could have all the perk slots to test the Killer out. After almost 300k BP spent, the picture bellow shows what I can build with. There is no way this can be an enjoyable experience.

That means, for a new player to test out every killer as a lvl.15 he would have to spend close to 7mm BP. Considering that this particular player gets 30k BP per match, that means 250 games played, just to have every killer at lvl.15. 20 minutes per match, thats 85 hours of game play. Just so you can learn the game.

Cmon, if this doesnt get a word on the 6th year stream, ... I mean, its obvious how it needs to be fixed.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MVV7A4G5C9ZD/pig.jpg

This is the main reason why I don’t recommend the game for new players. The grind is far too overwhelming. Spending hours and hours in the game earning blood points that mostly get spent on useless items, offerings and terrible perks that you don’t even want. I had a few friends that starting playing the game with me a few years ago, and they all gave up within a month because the grind was so overwhelming. And that was back when there were a lot fewer characters and perks. Now it’s just completely out of control. We’ll see if the devs roll out any meaningful improvements with this upcoming anniversary. I’m not hopeful, but maybe they’ll surprise us.

It’s always going to be hit and miss - no way around it. Sometimes you’ll get great teammates, and sometimes they will be AFK, they’ll DC or they’ll unhook you in front of the killer without Borrowed Time. It’s always been that way and will always be that way.

Chances of Netflix getting real greedy with their favourite cash-grabbing franchise (one of the only things keeping the streaming service going rn no doubt) and creating a short-term deal with BHVR to launch a mini Stranger Things return window?

They've collaborated with Far Cry 6 recently, so clearly they're not keeping their license too close. SMITE will have its skins return and Fortnite will more than likely feature the crossover skins again soon. It just makes sense marketing-wise.

Like... why wouldn't it come back, if even for a short time only?

Yep, Legion has always been suuuuuper unenjoyable and boring to play against, but they were also very weak so you didn't have to deal with that often. With them being much more popular their boring gameplay becomes much more prevalent.

That’s exactly my point. Legion have always been super boring and unfun to playing against, but thankfully rare due to their weakness. Still super unfun and boring, but now a lot more common.

Players like the ones in your screen are clearly insecure human beings who are so fragile that they have an emotional breakdown when they lose in a video game - it’s pathetic. You should ignore what these people say because you need to remember that these are not rational, normal-functioning people.

people still running to the top of the stairs of the Silent hill map and wedging themselves between the rock and the corner wall, unable to be hit or picked up.

    move that damn rock already.

The only explanation is that BHVR are ok with keeping a bugged map in the rotation. They obviously know about the bug and had a chance to kill switch the map but chose not to. Maybe they’re using this a bait to ban players who keep using the exploit? 🤷‍♂️

  • So I guess BHVR are totally fine with keeping a map with known bugs in the rotation? Good to know

It can't just be me, right? Coconutrts has made a video on it, new Haddonfield is still abysmal to play on as killer. Can we just remove it as a failed mistake already?

RPD needs to be the priority. That map need to be launched into space

Just add these two lines to the end of your Engine.ini file save normally and play without AA:

    [/Script/Engine.Streamingsettings]

    r.DefaultFeature.AntiAliasing=0

Still no explanation from the devs about why this can’t be added as a setting in the graphics menu. I guess it must be too hard to write the code to do that 🙄

See, I really don't get this complaint. Not that mending is boring mind you... it's just that Legion has literally been all about chaining hits and spreading deep wound for years. This isn't new. Are you just complaining because you hadn't seen Legion in months so didn't have to deal with them and now you do or something?

I’ve always hated going against Legion because of their mechanics. I understand it’s nothing new. I never saw Legion much before the buffs because they were so weak, but they’re in at least half of my survivor matches now. Maybe it will get better over time as the novelty wears off.

Maybe bhvr forgot they have a kill switch they can use anytime. Even if we have an update today, I'm surprised they didn't bother using the killswitch

    I’m not surprised

If you can’t handle a game not going the way you want, don’t queue up. Uninstall the game instead of ruining it for 4 other people.

Yep, this. You probably shouldn’t be playing the game at all if it triggers you this much.

The only thing we can do to mitigate the vaseline on the screen is using Nvidia or SweetFX filters. Here's my settings for Luma Sharpen @ 1440P.

    [LumaSharpen.fx]

    offset_bias=1.000000

    pattern=1

    sharp_clamp=0.050000

    sharp_strength=1.500000

    show_sharpen=0

It’s so pathetic that practically every other game made over the past 20 years has this basic graphics setting, yet we have to resort to ridiculous workarounds to make the game not look like crap

It's no secret the vast majority of the survivor community wants BT basekit, so how do you make up for this on the killer's side? There are two suggestions that I have and I'd like to hear what you guys think of it. (Also these are one or the other, not both).

1: Pop basekit (to a degree)

Make it so that each time you hook a survivor you get a basekit pop, but lessen the numbers (10-15%). Not only would this help the killer during the midgame but it would also encourage the killer not to camp and find a gen to kick.

    2: Barbecue and Chili basekit

Each time a survivor is hooked, all survivors further than 40 meters from the hook have their auras revealed for 4 seconds. This would provide useful info to the killer and yet again promote anti-camping. Maybe nerf it a bit so that survivors repairing don't have their auras revealed so that the killer can't control the gens too well without any perks.

Corrupt Intervention should be base kit for killers

Who's dumb idea was to make legion this annoying?

Every match now is just everyone having to be mending all the time and that's it. There is not even a counter, pallets are useless, vaults are useless. Special when they mix perks like thanatophobia and ruin, that's it, the whole match is just mending and mending, and is impossible to get anything done. Is stupid and boring.

Yep. I absolutely hate playing against Legion. Matches are super annoying and take forever. I hated played against pre-update as well. The only difference is that now you get Legion in like 70% of your matches.

I've found myself really missing the Hawkins map recently. I think it's because of the reworks and new looks to maps, nothing feels like the "old dbd" anymore if that makes sense. Does anyone else miss the map?

    No

I Just got toxic for finishing a gen IN front of a artist face.

I Knew she had pop because I saw it before.

    She still won.

I asked "Why BM" and that was her response "Did a gen in my face"

Do you guys consider this toxic?

No, it’s not toxic. It’s only “toxic” if you’re an overly fragile human being.
