For survivor, see my reply above. But I have seen multiple posts from people who play killer about how survivors are BM'ing them at doors for not being good, refusing to leave the game/do the gens because they know they can run the killer without going down, etc
That seems like pretty normal gameplay to me

I know the mods and team members see all these threads popping up on the forum about toxicity on the first day and terrible matchmaking. This is just the first day of 13 of the event. I've seen so many people say that they tried to have fun only for a toxic killer/survivor to ruin the match. This event highlights all of the major issues this game has health wise and I hope the devs will take that into account. Oh and for anyone being toxic, hope you like long queue times cause that is where it will lead
Can you explain how “toxic” survivors and killers are “ruining” matches? This is a really vague and generic comment. Do you have specific examples?

I mean... according to every Sluzzy thread ever created, this is how it always is...
Right? How is this any different from any other match that Sluzzy is in? I can’t believe somebody (supposedly) spends much time playing survivor when it’s the most miserable human experience imaginable

It’s bugged, which means it might get fixed in three months

4-man SWF on comms is definitely unfair for the killer, but there are enough killers still playing the game so BHVR has no incentive to make changes.

What happened to Billy? I mained him for 2.k hours but stopped playing for a good year or two, now he feels kinda garbage with all the indoor maps and save loops. Any tips of Billy mains or should I just main Nurse/Blight? NGL my first few matches were really frustrating...
I used to main Billy before he got nuked. I only play him now when I have a daily for him. I agree with other comments about his add-ons. Nearly all of them are trash

Seriously, Why is this mechanic still in the game? A survivor should not have the option to struggle and then miss two skill checks to leave asap. It ruins the game for the other survivors because they are forced to face the basement camping bubba and waste time or the survivor will just leave. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
If the survivor wants out then they can take a nifty 5 minute penalty or sit on that hook for the full duration. It's mind boggling that this has not been removed since the solution is to smash gens and out, but you can't because of this!!
Unfortunately you can’t force people to try. Go ahead and take away hook suicides and you’ll just have AFK teammates that will make your miserable match last longer. Personally I would prefer a shorter match if my teammates aren’t going to try, and the hook suicide mechanic facilitates shorter matches.

NOT HOPING TO GET BANNED why the hell would i wanna ban anyone that isn't cheating
“I just report everyone so in case they are cheating they’ll get banned”
You probably don’t realize or care because it’s pretty obvious that you don’t consider the impact of your actions on others around you, but people at BHVR have to waste their time reviewing all your garbage reports and thus have less time to spend reviewing actual legitimate reports

First, sorry about your divorce from Diane. That was rough.
Second, do you like him? Are you excited to go against him?
Thanks - appreciate the support 😉
I wouldn’t say I get excited to go against Trickster, but there are plenty other killers I dislike way more (Cenobite, Hag, Nurse, Spirit, Legion)
-
@AshInTheTallGrass said:
Not what others have said about him, what you honestly think is his problem. And if you don't have a problem with him, please explain.
I don’t play as Trickster when I play killer, but when I play against him as survivor I don’t mind at all. He feels pretty balanced to play against and has reasonable counterplay
-
Here’s what I would do:
1). report anyone using racial slurs. If BHVR really take this seriously, they’ll ban those players
2). Don’t play killer during peak hours. The matchmaking system doesn’t work during this time because of lack of killer players, so you’ll be matched with the next survivor group waiting regardless of their MMR score
3). If you find yourself in a match with a bully squad, don’t indulge them. Go wander the map and ignore them until they get bored and leave. There’s nothing in the game rules that says you have to try hard

Don't hold your breath. I don't assume they will convert them into anything. They will likely just gray out so we can't use them and no refund will be provided. Consider that when the Mori changed and became less effective, they never changed the price of them. We are still forced to buy them by the bloodweb at the original costs. The same is true of Keys which are also not worth the BP charged for them. They could have allowed people to convert all those Mori and Keys to into BP back when they made those changes; they didn't. They haven't even adjusted them to reflect current value. :)
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line and the DEV tend to take the path of least resistance when it comes to coding. I expect they aren't going to spend the time coding to allow all of us to jump into extremely high BP by selling them back. They will simply invalidate them all and if we are lucky they will give us one of their BP payouts which will be the same for everyone. So whether you have five Mori or six hundred (which I do) we will end up getting an amount somewhere between zero and a million BP.
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now that there will be compensation, but I will be in no way surprised if they just simply disable them with no compensation

Curious where this thread will end up. For me personally, Blood Echo is one of my favorites to run, specifically on Legion.
Legion, a killer who can get first hits easier than most others, can force survivors to heal against them if they want to keep their Dead Hards or whatever Exhaustion perks they're running, and typically, the counterplay to Legion is to stay injured. Because of this Catch 22 that Blood Echo provides Legion, I run Blood Echo as my main form of slowdown in an unorthodox way as opposed to Pop or Ruin or whatever gen defense.
Survivor side: Small Game. Helps me find hex totems more easily and I’ve often been able to find NOED during endgame with it.
Killer side: Make Your Choice. Hooray for instadowns

and I'm not talking about about how good they play because i suck, i know that's what u were thinking
I'm talking about the amount of private profiles on survivors
Holy hell I've never seen this amount of private profiles in a community before
I swear every time you try to check how many hours someone has or literally anything you just get hit with with private profile
like is every pc player insecure? or yall just subtle cheating , because I'm a killer main, which you know sparks more salt and toxicity then survivors, and my profile is as public as it can get.
i know this has nothing to do with Bhvr since this is a steam option, but why so many, are you really that afraid of people calling you bad in game, or u just doing something fishy
like i honestly reported every single private profile even if I killed them, not that i meet them that often anyways, NA is filled with console players which i kinda feel bad sometimes for.
moral of this post? i have no idea, I guess I'm saying its fine to suck (even with the ludicrous of crutch perks that survivors have)
i know this is in usual post but hot damn I might just start dodging pc players if everyone is just gonna private their profile
You reported every private profile? For what? I hope you get banned for abusing the reporting system

Now I mean as a survivor let's say your playing solo for now and your paired with a bully squad flashlights,DS,Dead hard the whole mile what do you do.
Because yeah I get it's a thing you shouldn't do because it makes you a **** but seriously I hate bully squads and I feel bad for the killer with dealing with them clicking their flashlights all the time so basically I'll take the role of opening the exit and if luck is on my side the killer downs the bully squad and hooks them and I'll make my leave.
Sure it's something bad to basically screw your team over but it's a bully squad they can handle losing one of their fifty purple flashlights even then a killer messaged me thanking me for killing that team.
I had a match like this last night where it was clearly a group of very good, coordinated survivors who were flashing saving, body blocking, head-on, etc. unfortunately I didn’t have the right perk loadout to deal with that, so I just went around the map and let them have fun playing gen simulator. Those type of teams are there simply to get their kicks by bullying killers, so take that away from them and see how much fun they have holding M1 all match and then waiting in 10 minute queue for their next match.

SOOOOOO I just experienced the new gen regression meta.... yeah deadlock deadmans switch and pain res with bbq yeah its nasty, sweaty and is just way too oppresive for casual players like me. SO for everyone who hates this... I understand now.
You can thank SWF coordination and gen speeds for this. Every killer has to go into a match assuming that they’ll be facing a coordinated SWF team, where you start an chase with one survivor and meanwhile 2-3 gens will get done before you first hook. You then leave the hook to play by survivor rulebook, go look for another survivor. One survivor goes for the save, another is working on a gen while you chase the fourth survivor. Repeat again for the last gen. With a full regression build and a good three gen, you might have a chance to get a kill. Without regression perks, you consistently get zero kills and survivors t-bagging you at the exit gates.

Yet another post complaining about how camping Bubba is unfun, but ignoring the many elements of the game that make playing killer unfair and unfun. Let’s first address the reasons why killers are often forced to camp (gen speeds, SWF coordination, 2nd chance survivor perks, etc).

@Shaderz said:
I don't think it shocks anyone to say teabagging, or repeatedly spamming the crouch key/button, and flashlight clicking are absolutely disgusting. They are the peak of toxicity in Dead By Daylight, and it's seriously about time to address them.
Anti-teabagging System:
I think it would help reducing the amount of toxicity in the community if there was a way to slow down repeated crouches, or nerf the crouching speed so normal crouching works as expected, but spamming it causes your character to "get tired" after every crouch more and more so it becomes slower for every next crouch.
Off the top of my head, CS:GO has a crouching system that would work perfectly here. It kills two birds with one stone; it prevents fast crouch peeks and stops teabagging simultaneously. Now, fast crouch peeks aren't an issue in a game like Dead By Daylight, but teabagging definitely is.
Anti-Flashlight Clicking System:
For flashlight clicking/spamming, I'm not exactly sure how slowing it down to the same level of the aforementioned anti-teabagging system would work, but it could be tried out.
Alternatively, introducing a cooldown between each flashlight click could be an option. Say 5 seconds between each click. So survivors are still able to blind the killer, therefore making the item still work as expected, but spam clicking it wouldn't be possible anymore, as they would have to wait 5 seconds to use the flashlight again. Of course, this number is up for debate, but I hope it gives you an idea of what I'm going for here.
I can't think of a single reason to keep either of these features in game, other than the fact they just add up to overall toxicity in the community, but you could prove me wrong. What are your thoughts?
My thoughts? Grow thicker skin. I’ve been t-bagged and flashlight spammed *a lot* and yeah it’s annoying but I don’t let it trigger me

I report them as unsportsmanlike every time. The game is balanced to a 4 man swf. When playing as solo there’s often an instant DC. So we now have an already unbalanced game (killer is favored vs solos) become insanely unfair. Since Behaviour can’t figure out a fair way to deal with immediate DCs it’s MY OPINION that it is unsportsmanlike for a killer to play a game that is wildly unfair and balanced in their favor and they should just make it a farming game instead of beating up a team that is stuck in an unfair match since Behaviour wont let us quit in these situations. Just throwing it out there… It’s your system Behaviour. This is how I interpret it.
The reporting system would work a lot better if the devs didn’t have to sift through the massive amounts of non-reportable “violations” like these.

I've been playing for a year now, and one thing that strikes me as odd how this is still, after all this time, this is still in the game.
When boil over was changes the developers quickly nerfed it because in some circumstances the killer had no way to hook a survivor in certain areas, they had to let the survivor bleed out if they wanted a killer.
Flash forward to the most recent patch, box camping pig was nerfed, which was probably the closest comparative to basement Bubba in the game. Survivors had no chance to live, this lasted only months before it was fixed in the latest patch.
But here we are, still being camped by a Bubba on hook with no way of countering it. His chainsaw speed and number of charges completely negate borrowed time. There nothing you can do. Oftentimes it happens within the first 60 seconds of the match, and thar unluckily survivor just spend 10 min in que just to have this happen to them and have them eliminated from the game.
Why is there double standards, why is one thing considered broken and hotfixed or patched, but this isn't. It's makes no sense and it's beyond frustrating at this point.
You see posts pleading for BhVR to change this everyday, yet they won't even acknowledge it in community streams. It makes zero sense ignore it when you're actively and aggressively removing others like it from the game.
People plead for a lot of things on the forums every day that the devs don’t respond to.

So before I get Burned at the stake for this one, I play both sides, which is why I make this one. The Toxic Survivor is making a major comeback, especially with the new map. Rapid clicking, unnecessary Teabagging, and all around clownish behavior that often gets the other survivors killed, or makes a killer DC out of annoyance. Can an in game penalty possibly be added for this obnoxious behavior? Like a 30% reduction in speed for 30 seconds after teabagging 5-6times rapidly? Or maybe a survivor loses a health state for it? Anyone else hot a fun idea for it? These are merely ideas I think that would help keep the toxicity low, or at least...bring it down.

@Akumakaji said:
The devs said that they are reluctant to give any estimates of release dates, because in the past stuff would often get delayed, and then people got extra salty and flaunted the date that things "were promised to release". On the plus-side, they normally only mention stuff, when it already got a certain percentage done and they know that it would release in the forseeable future, same reasons as above. So we will just have to wait and see, don't hold your breath, but its worked on right now.
Yeah - the devs don’t give release dates because then they can announce a bunch of changes, get everyone excited to boost player numbers, and then never follow through on them.
It’s not that changes never get made. Some do (eventually), but a lot of changes that people have been asking about for years have either not been addressed yet or have just now been announced (and still not implemented yet.
I think deadlines would be a good thing for the devs - something to hold them accountable for making improvements to the game in a timely manner.

If I know there are one or more survivors waiting at the gate, I’ll Just go find unbroken pallets or breakable walls to break or use my special killer power as much as I can for more BP until the timer runs out. Boon: Reverse Ruin. While the boon totem is active, all generators not being repaired by survivors automatically self-repair at 100/150/200% of the normal repair speed.

All in all, very frustrating!

I just came back from playing Evil Dead the Game and VHS. The Devs of these games put out patches quick and they actually listen to players transparently.
Evil Dead has a Bright future with a long Road Map ahead while VHS is still in BETA but the Devs cares enough to hold the game and build a fortress for cyber security and optimization while making balance changes frequently.
I'm sorry but currently DBD feels lacking af and my motivation for playing DBD recently is just for the Bloodpoints and because I bought the Battlepass, Other than this, I find no motivation to play DBD.
BHVR really has competition this time around. I know the past competitors but I really think Evil Dead and VHS are an actual Competitors that will steal Player Count.
I agree that BHVR is extremely slow to make improvements to the game, fix bugs, etc and they often ignore community feedback. The problem is that they really don’t have any major competition in this genre. After about 6 months of decline, the player count is holding stable. There’s no urgency for BHVR to do anything differently than they have in the past because, at least for now, it’s still working for them.

This is an online game tied to servers upkept by the company. There really isn't anything that can be done connection-wise. Performance-wise, with stuttering and whatnot, that's just hardware issues. When DBD first released on console, it was evident that the hardware could not support the game. Current-gen consoles perform far better running the game, but last-gen is pretty much done.
What’s super frustrating is that the game ran just fine on my PC when I started playing a few years ago, and today it runs worse than ever. I’m not aware of any major changes that have been made to the graphics in the game that would tax my hardware so much more (someone please correct me if I’m wrong). The only thing I can conclude is that the game code optimization has just been getting worse and worse over time.

I was waiting for the usual 4 flash lights but no one did I was suspicious I kept hovering around lightborn just incase but I didn't pick it so literally the counter was going to force them into ready and they quickly picked flashlights so you can't use light born or quit .. And there you go entertain high mmr bully squads running every loop perfectly and every hook was a challenge with the sabo perk and flashlight saves..
It's just unfair to play against 4 good players with flashlights and voice communication ? especially while playing a weak killer I got gen rushed and ended up with 1 kill though all the clicks and tbags.
As a soloQ player it's unfair how much advantage a SWF gets over you while my most survivor games are DC's and survivors suiciding on hook and no one works on gens or saves you or anything. While I play killer it's always the high mmr sabo bully squads game over game.. At this point I'm having a Stockholm syndrome with DBD lol.
Please BHVR the game is not balanced or fair because of SWF at least make it teams of 2 friends max ..
BHVR will never change SWF as things stand now and I don’t blame them. SWF players will stop playing the game if they limit it or nerf it too much.
I say this often, but if you play killer and you really want things to change, you need to stop playing the game. Right now BHVR sees that this game can get by even though they know that experienced, coordinated SWF is unfair against even the best killers. Enough killer players are still toughing it out to keep queue times acceptable for survivor teams. I guarantee you that if enough killers stop playing and survivors players leave in large numbers because they’re waiting too long for matches, you’ll see changes made.
-
@shalo said:
10 games with a new Killer all 4 escape every time, when will I get fair matches?
If you’re playing during peaks times (you’ll know this if your killer queue time is short/instant), it really doesn’t matter what your MMR score is. You’ll just be matched with the next survivor group in line because the system prioritizes matchmaking times over “fairness”.
This isn’t really a matter of the system itself being broken, but more because of the fact that too few people want to play killer because it’s stressful and it’s difficult. A lot of people in your position (constantly getting zero kills) will likely give up.

Your basically ruining everyone’s purpose to play the game and how can you enjoy yourself for starting up DBD and staring for 2 min at every survivor on the hook?
Why can’t people play the way they want to play if it’s within the rules?
-
I play both sides (mostly solo queue when I play survivor), and yes playing against a coordinated SWF feels very unfair and the matches usually aren’t much fun for me. However, I fully realize that playing survivor with your friends is part of what makes this game fun and popular. When I can find a friend(s) to play with, it certainly make it more enjoyable for me. The problem is that it’s essentially a zero sum game. The more fun/easy you make it for one side, the less fun/more difficult you make it for the other.
I don’t have any great ideas for how you solve this problem without significantly nerfing SWF which I think would lead to a lot of players quitting the game. For me, I’ve taken a more personal approach to solving the issue - I just don’t play killer much in the evenings when there are a lot more coordinated SWF teams. If I can get time during the day to play (doesn’t happen often), my killers matches are a lot more balanced and enjoyable.

I’m not confident it will get fixed. The performance of this game is hot garbage compared to every other game I’ve ever played. People come to this forum talking about how they have lag/stuttering on systems with RTX3080 and the latest processors, so it’s not a hardware issue. Overall, the 6th year anniversary stream promised a lot of good things coming up. I'm just a bit worried about the overhaul to meta perks. Yes, dead hard/ BT feels unfair. NOED too. But Corrupt? DS? Pain resonance? Pop? Self-care? BBQ? Ruin? I have no problem with any of them. Even if you nerf the current meta, a new one will emerge next. What should be looked at, in my opinion, is if a perk is really unfun/ unfair to go against. And many meta perks seems fine to me. But, well, i did get surprised with changes in the past... maybe it'll be the same.
I play both sides, and the only perk that I see as problematic is Dead Hard. All the other “meta” perks are fine. A large majority of perks (the ones outside of the 40 that are supposedly going to be reworked) are mostly useless and/or incredibly situational. The devs should be reworking/buffing these instead. The reason that the meta is so stale is because there’s such a small proportion of perks that are actually useful, it’s not because there are too many perks that are OP.
