I'm so tired of it. Encountered 3 VERY suspect groups today that make me so ######### annoyed that I wish they could just put the AI in customs already cause I'd really like a little predictability with this game and not a sweat fest almost every single match with zero chance for me to win. I play to have fun and this not it .

Yeah, I'm sorry, cheating has gone off the records for me lately as well, I don't even know what it is but it's been Crazy

I think survivors would play a lot better if bond and kindred was basekit.

I think the biggest problem most survivors are is the lack of communication and information.

If these perks we're basekit and BHVR also added a way for soloq survivors to communicate with each other, there would be no difference betwen soloq and swf if survivors also played well enough,

What do you mean, communication? The game gives you enough communication, as is to know where your teammates are, or what they're doing just because some people decide to play on coms and with their friends doesn't mean that they're playing the game as it should be played communication was never the problem

And no kindred should not be basekit because the killers ora should never be revealed to you at all times, so throw that idea out

Honestly it shows health and state of the players than game.

Ya, lol that's what I meant sorry, but completely

If Suiciding on Hook and DCing is increasing, this is a symptom of poor game health. In fact, this is probably the biggest red flag there is for a game.

Ya I agree with this, it does show the health and state of the game and every body that's is sitting here saying it's not and just excusing it for "free kills" is immature

As the title says, I think the Ebony Mori is just a bit oppressive even with the double hook added to it. I've been seeing more and more ebony moris in the game, not sure why. Regardless, it has made me realize how annoying they are in the hands of a good killer. Pair that with the absolute abysmal matchmaking and you have some regularly unfun and terrible games.

I am saying this as a killer main who plays survivor sometimes. I know how unfun moris can be, I would be happy to only have the green and yellow Mori in game. The ebony just feels like overkill. Keys got taken away, now consider removing the ebony Mori.

I fully expect to get a percentage of angry killers trying to tell me off in the comments. You're welcome to do so, but it doesn't make my argument any less valid. For those who are capable of reasonable discussion, I look forward to your comment.

I don't know what your getting at???

I don't even get a chance to use them half the time

Escaping may have been the goal a few hundred hours gameplay ago, making challenging hook saves or looping became quickly more rewarding. So, no, escaping is not the goal for me, it's become more and more the interaction with the killer, and being able to "fight back" does add spice to it.

I don't know why I was mentioned by you 3 times butt...

Sorry no one playing to the survivor handbook the game was already survivor sided now you want to "fight back" dude seriously... Lol so funny, no one is caring about looping that much and all that does is just makes killers mad and bring more toxic to the end game chat so you can have your fun but again do the gens then leave

I still enjoy the game and care for it, that's why I am here providing my feedback to make the game great for all, not just a sub-population. And I know it is a hard balance to strick to meet the needs of different types of players.

Escaping and doing gens without getting noticed was the goal of the game for me the first few hundred hours in, it became less and less important to escape over time. I cherish more the rescues and loops than making the escape. And like I said, being a pincushion game after game without the feeling of fighting back (as futile as this exercise might be) is not satisfying to me.

Ok but the whole point of the game is to do GENS and then LEAVE as killer have to KILL then HOOK there's nothing else that important to the game so you wanting to just loop for your amusement isn't a good enough argument we all have are fun in this game but I never lost the sight of doing my killer job so I don't get it

Glad you didn't stop reading and thanks for your killer perspective. I did try killer a few years ago, but I prefer much to collaborative playstyle of the survivor side. And you are right, I am probably to worst person to give the killer viewpoint, which I why I didn't. I have played against skilled killers who knew to wait out DH, so maybe it is a matter of killer skills to be able to deal with DH?

The main point of this post is to convey my feeling about the change, I am sure it doesn;t apply to everyone. I will continue to experiment with builds for a little while and move on if I can't find something satisfying enough. Heck, I might even start playing killer side, provided the queues are reasonable...

For one I did read the whole thing and As a killer main I can only give a killer perspective for one soo.... Anyway

And I'm sorry to me along the many since this update came along just seem to be complaining about the changes and how bably survivors got affected especially since DH left

And no DH was NEVER a killer problem....lmao

  • @tamsmi said:

before any of you say "oh you need to learn to loop without dead hard. thats all"... i have 3k hours in this game. i didnt use dead hard that often either. i LIKED looping without it. or any exhaustion because it felt that much satisfying to know i had a long chase WITHOUT any help. so now that we have that all cleared up:

i miss facing good killers!! killers with good mind games, who knew how to pressure gens, and when you lost to them you could say "he played really well. ggs" all i get are a bunch of boosted baby killers who don't know how to mind game and now they don't have to learn because the game just hands them the win. You cant simultaneously make gen times longer as well as make chases shorter. survivors dont have enough time to get anything done before the killer comes to interrupt. every game feels too exhausting.

i used to play killer and survivor equally, im red ranked in both, but since the patch i have been playing killer a lot more because its wayyyy easier and less stressful. yesterday, i got adept on 6 killers i had never even tried before... do you know how many games it took me? 6....... ITS TOO EASY. THERES NOT EVEN A CHALLENGE.

BHVR, I think you went WAY overboard with these killer buffs. a lot of the perk changes were nice. good job. no complaints (except maybe thana. thats miserable).. but the amount of base kit changes in the killers favor is ruining the survivor experience.

Oh stop over reacting and I wish survivors just said "GG" to me when I clearly had a good game with them but that never happened lol

  • @Rise432 said:

Like I don't doubt the fact the kill% is increasing more and more as each day passes, but I wonder if it's rapidly increasing or passively slowly increasing?

I feel it can easily have gone up at least 10%+ and from maybe a month from now it might end up being something like 30%-40%+

Ever since the patch dropped I have always ended up with a 2K or more (Majority of my matches I gotten 4Ks or 3k with last guy escaping by hatch)

    Its deff inflated

  • @Coder said:

I rarely post on these forums and I know it will sound like a survivor main bait, but it's not. I'm DESTROYING people at 4 gens with plague, wraith, myers, bubba... it's ridiculous. Plague get the best part since I'm running corrupt, pain resonance and thana (I know, disgusting). Sure, if I get some 4 man comp SWF they COULD win, but solos? there's virtually nothing they can do. And even if I'm losing I just go to "tunnel mode" and win anyway.

Also, if only a 4 man comp SWF on Discord can win against a Plague, the balance of your game is broken.

And as solo Q player, I just don't care anymore, I just try to farm as much bloodpoints as I can, finish my challenge and die/leave, but if the killer is half decent and has regression it's a long battle uphill.

The game "as is" is not right, I'm not saying it should be reverted, but now killers have a decent chance against SWFs, but maybe buff solo Q?

I'm enjoying the update, I think it's a good chance for killers after all these years of them getting the short end, the stick. The game isn't boring, to me at all now it actually feels fair without survivors thinking they can just dead hard to win

And everyone is talking about solo Q how are they gonna buff solo q's without buffing survivors in general????

  • @LepewSurvivor said:

    Dear BHVR/DbD Product manager/owner,

Dbd survivor I reckon is funniest when played with friends. I soloQ most of the time (I know you will spare me the predictable "you don't have a life, get some friends") and never play killer. I do enjoy the team aspect of the survivor side, assisting, saving, and after 2.5k hours playtime, I was just starting to enjoy looping the killer. The 1v1 killer/survivor interaction is well... one sided by design... The killers are faster, you can't hit back at them and therefore your odds to escaping this duel are staked against you. I accepted this painful reality of the asymetric genre because I liked the challenge to overcome these odds, and because once in while, you had "underdog moments" that made it all worth it. What are these underdog moments? They are those rare moments when you, weakling survivor, can hurt back, in a small way, the all mighty killer:

    1) The pallet stun

    2) Decive Strike (and yes, it's 3s instead of 5s and less effective to get away, but to me, it still satisfies that need to get back at the killer once in a while)

    3) and Dead Hard was the other: what can be more satisfying that after being pummeled an entire game to pull a DH and make the killer miss when they though they had the down? Sure, you are just delaying the inevitable hook, but this single event beautifully quenched your thirst for retribution, and gave you just enough of an endorphine rush to keep you taking the killer's beating.

So you see BHVR, you haven't just nerfed DH. For me, and perhaps my type of player, you have removed one of the key joys of Dbd... and I am struggling to find a replacement for it. So much that I am sorry to say I am part of these players that in frustration have started throwing the towel after a first hook... something no longer feels right, out of balance, not worth the pain, I can't get over it... at least at this time... Maybe a break to unlearn the old Dbd is required to better be able to accept the new one...

PS: I'd hate to beat up the poor dead horse but... The new DH animation only adds insult to injury: what was a cool slick forward dash now looks like something between a gimped cowering stumble and a traditional celtic danse performed by a drunk Mr Bean...

    Yours truely,

    Lepew

You mean to tell me that just because DH is gone that you can enjoy the game anymore........seriously?

And when we're survivors ever supposed to have a "fight back" against killers, I thought you were just supposed to escape?

Just do the gens and get out of the match

  • @Sluzzy said:

It should be obvious by now that the last patch broke the game. Survivors, especially solo survivors, have no chance of winning against a buffed killer across the board. Matches I have witnessed survivors have stopped trying. Nothing was done to help the survivors in this patch, while massively buffing killers. After watching an hour of streaming this morning to get a little atmosphere of the climate of the game. Killer streamers waiting in long queues and steamrolling every single match. It was so boring watching killers 4K every match. Not sure how they had a thousand watching but they did.

Survivor perks are not working. OTR is being countered by hitting someone off the hook. Perks are too weak or not working.

Killer queues have crashed because so few wants to play in an unfun and unbalanced match.

I think they thought this patch would work because they listen to only killer mains and streamers. Unfortunately, this very small loud minority is not how the game should be played or who it should be balanced for.

Stop overreacting, they didn't give up on the game. It's a mid chapter update they'll see feedback in adjusted in the next update

I’ve been thinking about this especially since the new patch and it feels like the devs are afraid of making strong survivor perk options.

If we look at killer over the past year we have got Pain resonance, Pentimento, Lethal pursuer, Call of brine and Deadlock as new great options. Out of the three scourge hooks so far only one launched weak being gift of pain but it has now been buffed into a solid position

Now if we look at survivor over the past year we have gotten COH which was completely busted on release and is now a solid option and that’s about it really. Overcome is decent but worse than other exhaustion options and Shadowstep isn’t strong enough to run on its own. Hell they even nerfed parental guidance before release despite it not being incredibly strong in the first place. Perks like overzealous and inner focus are being buffed literally a month and a half after their launch because they released which such trivial numbers. For example how strong would overzealous actually be if the 16% boost happened regardless of a hex totem or not? Encourage side objectives with bonus gen speed that goes away when the killers pressure gens well sounds pretty balanced in my opinion. Boons overall are weak especially in the case of dark theory like when was the last time you saw someone run a boon perk without COH as well?

Looking at the new patch the same problem shows itself. Calm spirit apparently needing a 30% reduction in speed to compensate for its mediocre effect, Pharmacy needing the prerequisite of being injured, Botany having a medkit efficiency debuff and Dark sense having its endgame activation removed. It just feels like the devs want to make a new meta but absolutely refused to make new strong options for survivor players to use meaning we’ll just use the old meta regardless. To me it just feels like the devs are afraid of similar outcry to COH or dead hard when they release a strong perk for survivors. It’s not all negative though with perks like distortion and ITR record but it still feels like they are p,saying it very safe at the moment which feels weird for a meta shake up

What do you mean strong survivor preks have been to the game forever???

Have I been playing a different game??

  • @Audiophile said:

Just curious as to who will go on record as saying the game is survivor sided at this point. You can feel free to distinguish between vs solo or swf.

To me, the game is still pretty survivor sidded with the maps, and some of the perks are still pretty bigger than the other ones, like I had a game where self care literally carried the survivors out the gate, but I'm happy with the update and I feel the game is more balanced now At least more than it was. I still sadly don't know what to say for are precious solo Q's

And as I've said, what you said lacked any critical thought or meaning beyond an antagonizing statement. But that's fine, not everyone is willing to admit when they've been toxic, I just hope at some point you find it in you to reflect and improve.

Dude I have no Idea what your even talking about bit I guess thanks for just jumping in the conversation, I hope in the future you let other people give their opinion instead of trying to blame others but I guess we're both toxic that's way

It's not that you "said something different," but that you didn't say anything at all, and instead, just antagonized. Again, all I care about is that the game becomes more healthy and less toxic. If your own toxicity isn't something you are willing to address right now, you don't have to keep discussing this, but no harm in admitting you made a mistake.

Ok look im telling you I didn't say it to be toxic I gave my opinion like I said it's funny how the only killer that's said something different I being labeled toxic or irrelevant

I can handle it perfectly fine, I'm not attacking you, calling you salty, or any of that, but you were minimizing reasonable frustrations because you play killer and that's only going to lead to toxicity. Why are you so upset that I'm pointing out how unhelpful that is?

Dude.. What's the deal again it proves my point a killer main sayes something different and you can't handle it why does my comment have to be irrelevant because I'm a killer and I didn't agree?

You were saying that survivors often complain, which is a statement that doesn't contribute anything more than saying "huntress throws hatchets a lot." It's true, but doesn't move the discussion forward, nor does it make anything more fair. If you disagree with the ideas put forward, explaining why you disagree or asking questions about it is going to get a much less hostile discussion and maybe even find good solutions.

Omg why do you care this isn't even your discussion? Of course the one time a killer gives a different opinion and you guys can't handle it

I'm not telling you how to talk, simply letting you know that if your goal is a healthy and non-toxic game, saying "survivors are always complaining" is counterproductive and doesn't contribute to the discussion.

My goal is to be fair thats the whole point of the comment the game is not called survivors I was providing my opinion

Look, at the end of the day, you came into this discussion minimizing players' frustrations and contributing nothing to the discussion. If you really care about the game being healthy and non-toxic, this isn't the way to do that. If you have legitimate concerns about suggested changes, talk about it, but this isn't how you do that.

He committed to me duh and who are you to tell what to talk about if you can open you eyes to read enough I was having general concern for something but apparently to your he need some production

I play both sides and I just want a healthy game for both sides. Never once I said that killers will be op after this update. Just point point out something unhealthy I find about it.

Anyway, it amuses me when I find some players, especially killer mains, take things personally and complain back as well.

I want a healthy game as well, I never said it was ok for killers to camp and tunnel and I don't personally do it as well, I'm just saying, all I hear the survivors constantly complaining about it, I don't know how you guys want us to play the game as it is our job to kill, we are on opposite sides, we are not here to always make friends.

I'm just speaking for the side, I play as, SORRYI don't play a survivor. It's just my opinion

it amuses me when people think I'm taking something personally because I'm giving my opinion

  • @Catastrophe said:

The next update is massive and I appreciate devs' work on that. However, I would like to discuss about the change on camping and tunneling.

Adding the buffs (endurance and haste) are good to prevent tunneling. If killers still decide to tunnel, it may take a little bit longer. However, I'm concerned that this change won't help with camping. Both buffs will active once the survivor is unhooked, but the annoying part of camping is going for the unhook. Say if Bubba is camping your friend, this change won't do anything because you just can't unhook the survivor. I wish the dev had considered this as well.

I find it funny how survivors constantly, honestly complain about tunneling and camping, sorry for the killers just doing their job.

Dev seems to forget they have an out-of-spec killer called Nurse

Think what the future holds, u will play against Nurse with Jolt without cooldown + Soopy butcher + Thanatophobia and other fantasy perks , and u need 90s to do a gen basicly , once u get hit u need 45S to selfcare. Otherwise, the next time the nurse sees you, you're basically waiting to lie down.

Nurse can fly through all the map ,hit one surv and then back to the hook repeatedly. No one can unhook and the gens can not fix .

This is the biggest problem of the game

What do you guys want to do, keep nerfing every killer, so now every killer is the same, and they're just boring, and you get no value out of a killer being there own

  • @The_BiggCheeze said:

It all started with Plaything, a hex that shows itself to the survivor it is affecting. Now we have some changes to hexes to make them even worse to run than what they already are.

Ruin... It will basically CLEANSE ITSELF when a survivor dies. I get that it's to stop killers from snowballing immediately after the first death, but now the killer is screwed if they get a kill near end game because the totem decided "Did my job, ba bye!" And now the killer is stuck with 3 survivors and 1 gen left.

And now there's Noed, the black sheep that no one can decide on if it should be deleted or reworked because this community is just 2 ant colonies fighting over the same mound of dirt. Guess what, it shows itself to the survivors within a certain radius now, and it just goes "I feel bad for you guys for not finding me. Here, let me just increase the aura radius by like 20 meters because you guys didn't do bones"

Why do you all hate hex totems? Was them being able to be broken at the start of the match not good enough? AGAIN with the damn hand holding, "Oh you poor things, here's where the bad mans hex totem is because you're to blind to see the GLOWING TOTEM"

What's next BHVR, a totem that gives off the nirnroot hum and sends a beacon up to the sky, and it's only helpful effect is that everyone ######### default dances???

Hex totems should NOT be revealed to the survivors unless it's a survivor perk or add on that shows it, and hexes should NOT deactivate themselves unless a survivor breaks it. Hell, make it fair, let the killer see the aura of boon totems within a 30 meter range. I mean even with all these changes you're still showing favoritism.

I can hear it now "KiLlEr iS gOnNa GeT sO mAnY bUfFs, StOp CrYiNg" All those changes will be quickly and easily adjusted to and other aspects have been compensated for with the changes for survivors, there is no argument for that.

    Yess!!! Preach

  • @Audiophile said:

I appreciate them trying to break the meta but such a missed opportunity here. Making a form of BT base kit is great for survivors. Making the gens take longer, bloodlust tweaks, etc is great for killers. But the perk changes are a mix of good, bad and who tf cares? We have like 50 perks that are never used and now… we have like 60 perks that wont be used. I thought they would make some perks actually useful so that people would actually play them No one is suddenly going to start using overzealous because it went from a terrible perk to a simply bad perk.

Obvious ideas - make boil over actually strong enough to work, increase bond’s range, let unbreakable work more than once, let deliverance work on 2nd hook, let small game alert to traps again, Heck, deleting some perks would be an improvement. No one is going to use no one left behind because of the change. It’s still trash. Make more perks viable and stop imagining it will make survivors too strong. Do you guys even play solo queue?

What really gets me is not only this aspect but… They say say gens are too fast so we slowed them down. Additionally some base killer stuff is stronger right?… But… how did everyone counter fast gens in the past? Using S and A tier killers is how. And what will people do now? Continue to use S and A tier killers, but now they’re even stronger.

For the 1000th time NURSE IS TOO GD STRONG. Mastering a hard killer shouldn’t provide you with 100% win rates. Solo queues are getting slaughtered by S and A tier killers. Matchmaking is god awful for solo queue and during off peak hours. I highly doubt these matchmaking incentives are going to provide a better / playable solo experience but we’ll see. I’d love to be proven wrong.

I think that the changes planned will finally push me out of the game. I’ll give them a shot but I don’t think solo is going to be viable except for casual games where I dont want to win. Whatever… I’m just tired of them not getting it. SWFs are too hard for killers and Solos are too hard for survivors. I’m tired of impossible games from DCs and crazy imbalanced matches that I have to suck up and play because I’m a bad person if I quit. And I’m tired of even talking about it… I’m out.

Yeah, this change was crazy its getting to a point now where I don't even know how to play killer anymore

  • @Witchubtet said:

Outside of Slug Army and Face camping. What can killers do to be Toxic? The community seems to believe a lot of things but I’ve never gotten a true straight answer.

I know where you're coming from, and I thought, the same thing, your thinking, besides what you mentioned, I don't really know how killers can be as toxic, as some survivors say, I guess maybe constantly slashing on hook maybe one, but I honestly don't know either

  • @lildunks said:

I get wanting to get players to use different perks, but utterly neutering Hex Ruin wasn't the way to do so, like... seriously, making the regression the base regression at maximum was one thing, but making it snuff out after one survivor dies, like, are you kidding me?

Please revert this idiotic Nerf for the ptb and mid chapter please

but if you want to tame Ruin down a bit, I get that, so here is my suggested change

Forget the whole "After a Survivor is killed, Hex: Ruin will automatically deactivate." nonsense entirely, and then just change the regression to be 100/125/150%, or maybe if thats not a substantial enough change, maybe 100/110/120%

but the changes you are planning on making to this are perk are ridiculous

Oh my God, I know it seems like the devs just came in and ruined perks more than trying to make them better for the community

Non issue. The timing to properly save someone with a flashlight is so precise, that most players fail to get saves. Flashlights are a non issue

Nothing about saves are in question I'm fine, if the survivor is trying to save their teammate with one, I'm talking about one survivors constantly clicke or chase after you just to try to constantly sun the killer

Flashlights are fine (weak, even). Just remove the ability macro them.

    Ya that would help tremendously

Sounds like you're letting it get to you. That's what they want is to make you upset. You gotta grow thicker skin and just acknowledge that there will be toxic people in your games.

No it's just annoying and ya I know about toxic people survivors teabag all the time it's just that flashlights especially when all four of them have is ridiculous
