i literally run nothing else but common / uncommon add ons on my killers, as they are cheap and effective. and i also have no problem with the current prestige rewards (every 3rd bloodweb has NO red mori inside, every 5th or so has no red stuff)

to be onest, i thought so too at first, but, and this is the part of the story that changed my mind, the storyteller admitted that he beat the "monster" and chained it up on a wall and ran tests on it. the next day, we got the trailer which showed us the trapper who was chained up on a wall and injected with the nectar, until he broke free. after that, the storyteller told us that "he" has escaped, so i am pretty certain he is talking about the trapper.
also the trapper is actually pretty disfigured, or how many people do you see who grow iron hooks out of their bodies? and the mechanical jaw could be related to his mask, as its one big mark would be the smiling mouth, which would kinda fit in this description.
i might be wrong though.This^^^
Also as you read through the next days notes it heavily hints at him becoming a monster. Like how he said he smashed trapper through a wall in order to even be able to chain him up or the constant ramblings of him losing his sanity and all hope.
my poor trappy :c

would it be similar in that it would take longer to get someone to madness 3?
well, since you wouldnt have your shock therapy, the survivors would have to go up to madness 3 only by your static field, which does take a while. also, they can snap out of it again, so yeah. it'd probaply be much weaker than the tombstone...

@lasombra1979 yeah, i know how to play killer, but like 10 hrs player.. so, now all can kill / win as killer, survivors is costantly getting nerf and that gameplay is so frustating after 1500 hrs (sry for my english)that may be the case at rank 20, but especially in higher ranks, killers just get genrushed and lose within 7 mins.
also, due to the event this is not the case atm, since everyone is just interested in their vials. once thats over, we're back to 7 min games. -

If you can't win as killer on the game then I don't know what to tell you.honestly, i've never been a big fan of this map as a killer, since it completely screws with my 2 main killers: billy cant use his map pressure on this map and trapper cant use his traps effectively.
that said, i used to love this map when playing wraith, back when the bloodhound was build in his standart kit, since it was literally impossible to escape from him once you were injured. he would ALWAYS find you. -

honestly, i think the trapper has one of the best outfits. that mask is so great, i might even switch out my chuckles mask for it. like, the mask really kills it. the body on the other hand is, well, a little underwhelming, but i do like the look of it, so yeah... i might stop using this after the halloween event ended. the weapon on the other had is, imo, the best weapon we could get for him so far, maybe besides the stock skin + reworks (prestige and legacy).
he is defenitely lower on the list than doc, wraith and huntress, but the cosmetic is by no means bad. not at all. (billy on the other hand... well...)i think the opposite to you. i think the body is better then the head, the mask looks goofy to my and it ruins the look of the body.
ooof...
lets not discuss this any further then xD
we will only end up screaming at each other until one gets a heart attack.
anyways, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! -

dont be a toxic shithead and at leat i wont camp you.
try playing stealthy otherwise and wait until the killer attacks someone else before you go to the nearest objective / wait until the killer passed your location. -
what about no?
i like the shape and i dont want him ruined.
just open your eyes, YOU WILL SEE HIM WATCHING YOU! -
honestly, i dont know what kind of kilers you get, but since the event started i ranked up from survivor rank 15 to rank 3 and i barely encountered any campers...
i mean, its not camping when the killer comes back to the hook once you get unhooked... i do that too, it would be stupid not to. it would also be stupid to ignore the injured survivor, since he is the easier target, so you should rather be thankful to the killer not focussing the unhooked down.
and yes, i do know its frustrating, but you also gotta see it from the killers PoV: the hooked and injured survivor is like an almost completed gen to the survivors. and you wouldnt switch the gen just because the killer kicked it, right?
the only difference is, that the gen is not a person and has no feelings. -

killer attacks: the game marks an area of effect in front of the killer. if a survivors hitbox is within this area, the survivor will get hit.
with other words, you were in this marked area, so you were in range. -

this request has already been denied by the devs in a stream, since, as they say, its better when we dont have the exact numbers. But that is flawed reasoning on their part because they already give us raw numbers on alot of different things so that begs the question on what qualifies for giving us the raw numbers or just using the arbitrary naming scheme they have created.
well, i can only tell you what they said. i cant put any words in their mouths and i cant change their minds... i just told you they have already been asked and they said no.

i actually like this change, as it leaves the former save generatior inside the groaning storehouse now as one of the most dangerous.
besides that, A: not both of the windows are blocked. one of them does have a perma block, but the other one has a chance to be open when you enter the map. And B: the storehouse was just too much of a loop to be kept in the game. and as @Whispers23 said, you are not ment to escape every situation. -

No wonder I keep getting bullshit hits from killers. Auto aim is an atrocious feature in any game. It gives the false impression that people are good at something when they really aren't. FPS are a prime example but a game like this needing auto aim? Lol dumblet me show you how this game would be without the auto aim:
killer finds survivor -> survivor runs away -> killer ctaches up-> is in range -> presses M1, starts swing animation -> survivor simply pressed A or D, completely dodging the killers attack -> killer wound be able to hot a survivor anymore, unless they survivor is just bad or the killer happens to catch them in an animation
see? it would be super easy to avoid the killers attack without the auto aim, so removing it would literally break the game and make survivors almost immortal. i mean, right now there is this area of effect in front of the killer everytime he attacks, but when the weapon had its won hitbox, which had to connect to the survivors hitbox in order to hit, it would be super hard to hit the attacks against decent survivors, if not impossible. -
@Orion said:
It doesn't. Not any more.actually, and this is like the one time i actually disagree with out, there is an auto aim in the game. when a killer starts to attack, the game marks an area of effect in front of the killer, and if a survivor hitbox happens to be inside this area, the killers weapon will automatically connect to the survivor. that way it looks more smooth and logical when you attack them.

dont you dare to touch my trappys mori! thats by far my favourite.
its simple, yes but it does fit very well to him.besides that, i still think billy and wraith need a mori rework, as billys is just the lamest out of all the moris and wraiths is too similar to the trapper... why cant he just rip off the survivors head with the spine? pls! that would fit his character sooo much better than the rage mode he gets with his current mori...

both are difficult killers, but hag is by far the less difficult of them. spirit needs you to mindgame very effectively, while hag needs you to get the right setup and also opens new paths to mindgames. for a newer player id recommend hag.
but since a killer also comes with 3 perks, there is another factor you need to think about:
the hags perks are all 3 based on totems. these so called "Hex Perks" are destroyable and therefore not very strong. however, 2 of them really pay off if they survive long enough. while Hex: The Third Seal is just crap, both Hex: Ruin and Hex: Devour Hope can be veery strong. ruin is used to slow the game down, which will be needed in higher ranks (almost everyone runs ruin) and devour hope can allow you to insta kill survivors, once you've powered it up enough and it didnt get destroyed. its a high risk - high reward perk which can be eigther completely useless to you or carry your game all by itself.
the spirits perks are all great to combine with other perks. rancor allows you to insta kill the obsession once the doors are powered, so its really good with a perk like "Remember Me", which requires your obsession to be dead in order to be used effectively. spirits fury can save you a lot of time when combined with enduring, and almost guarantee you a hit, once activated. Hex: Haunted Grounds is a "trap Hex", as it is the only perk that punishes survivors when they destroy one of its 2 hex totems by making them oneshot for a minute (all of them) its really great when combined with other hex perks, as no one can tell weather they are destroying the real totem or a fake totem. you see? both hag and spirit have great perks, but i still recommend you the hag, as she got one very needed perk for you: ruin.
so all in all i can say that hag clearly won. i hope i could help you out and have a wonderful day! -
if you bring these offerings they grant you bonus BP, so they are not wasted. they even give you more BP back than you ever spend on them.

-
welp... now the survivors can gain the vials with playing survivor and i suddenly find my lobbies much faster, so yeah... it was the event.
-
eighter way you ruin everyones game by leaving.
as survivor, if one of my team mates DCs, i always get super annoyed and just want to end the round asap to start a new one. if the killer DCs, i give a ######### and play a new round.
if one of the survivors quits when im killer, i usualy dont like it. that way they are just a bad loser who cant stand the fact that i outplayed him and he went down.DCs ruin everyones fun, since they usually completely screw over the survivors.
-
dude, the killer has way more action going on than the w+m1 repair simulator survivor. a killer is always in a chase, which gives tons of points. survivors also get tons of points for every chase, but they are only part time chased, so they wont get as many points as the killer does. also, 3 of the 4 point cathegories for killer are made for the chase, so he gets more points in the end, if he chased succesfull.
and lets be honest, a chase takes way more skill than holding m1 and sometimes pressing the spacebar in the right moment.

only the ones that are hidden well. the others, if they are near an exit gat will stay untouched (by me).
if i know where all 5 of them are, RIP totems. -
actually, and i know you survivors dont like to hear that, it is a bug.
that said, it is, similar to gen tapping, acknowledged by the devs who then decided to keep it in the game.personally i dont have a problem with that mechanic, since you can counter it as a killer, you just need some skill to pull that off.
just turn in the direction they are going and you'll hit them. at least thats how i am doing it, i guess there is different ways.btw, the killer side has these "bugs" too, e.g. the killers ability to block the basement stairs with his body. same thing there.

I admit, I am not the best player. I am stuck around rank 10/11 with killer and even lower with survivor. So this is even more of a problem for me than for others who are good enough to eventually get to rank 1.Almost every game is against SWF. This in itself is not the real problem, but it leads to it. What I mean is that in almost every, and I mean EVERY SINGLE SWF team there is someone who is WAY beyond my league. Rank 5 with rank 12 teammates? Rank 2 with Rank 11 teammates? Two rank 5 with two rank 10s? I have seen it all.
This player is practically guaranteed to use DS, a flashlight, flashy clothes or full prestige, and bad manners to no end. You can't catch them because they are experts at looping and 360s, and even if you get them, they DS their way out and you lost only time, during which the rest does gens. When you finally hit them, they run off to the nearest premium loop spot because they know them all, and you either waste your time with them until all generators are done or you let them heal.
And you can't ignore them either because they either finish gens at record speed hitting all the skill checks with +150 or they are constantly near you, blinding you as soon as you pick someone up. Some run around in your face and teabag you so you hunt them instead of their buddies.
When I tell them that this is unfair and kills the killers' fun with the game, they just tell me that they "want to play with friends" and if it's their fault that they are good. This isn't happening once or twice. This is happening in 90% of my games. Look at the picture I uploaded. This is only from this month, and only from those games I bothered to screenshot. I could have made this gallery three times as large without problems.
BHVR, PLEASE do something about this!

Where you see survive with frieends in this screenshot, i see a lot of people with a single perk. tha's not a swf group, improve yourself and don't blame the game. Call upon swf groups always that's not mature
every single screenshot where he is matched with purple / red ranked survivors has a SWF group in it with one lower level and one higher level survivor AT LEAST.
i dont know how you get the idea that he didnt face SWF in one of these screenshots, since the matchmaking system clearly made him face survivors who play out of his league. also, just because the two highranked guys only had one perk in ONE of the 50.000.000.000 screenshots (which obviously proofs this whole threat wrong facepalm) doesnt mean that they didnt play SWF. the only way to proof him wrong would be, to go on these guys steam profiles and check their friendslist. -

Freudentrauma said:I personal think that a terror radius reduction isn't necessary. Yes, he is positioning killer, but even if he has M&A, Survivors should still be able to positioning themselves in good spot or hide. And the buffs nly make him a good in chases, not in anything else. Besides that his character model is quite large and easier to spot from far away.
Also throwing down pallets early still helps you to gain enough distance to be safe from his chainsaw swing. Especially with the cooldown added to it. The only thing that might be unclear is. Can a survivor still stun him during his swing or is he unstoppable?
No, Leather Face is literally unstoppable the moment that he starts his Chainsaw Swing meaning vaults is the ONLY thing that is keeping you from entering dying state. I'll list some things about how to counter Leather Face with these changes! First, throw down some random pallets when you first spawn in if you know it's Leather Face. This is for when you are in a chase, you can just vault the pallet and quickly make more ground without his Chainsaw Swing catching up to you. If you was to throw down the pallet, Leather Face Chainsaw Swing would catch up to you and down you since you're stuck in a long animation. Quick Vault Speed>Pallet Drop Speed
i honestly think that a pallet stun during the chase should stop his chainsaw sprint and maybe make him swing the chainsaw around, like when he hits a wall, so the pallet gets destroyed asap?
i still beleave that it would be a little overpowered if i stun him and he just keeps going, suffering no stun effect and still mowing me down... -
doc and a hard choice between billy (the skin just looks bad in my eyes) and huntress ( i almost never play her)...
it will probaply be the huntress though (or maybe the huntress weapon and body and billys torso...) -

that being said, trapper has some huge probelms:
he is wasting too much time for a setup, which may be disarmed as soon as he leaves the area for a split second, his trap hitboxes are really ######### (like i trap a pallet and the survivor just crouches past my trap. or i trap a window and the survivor just jumps over my trap (i get trapped after vaulting the window btw)), etc.
i really hope that some devs, who actually play killer, unlike a certain dev in here (sry, but i dont buy that he ever played trapper above rank 12), will see this post, since it has some really good suggestions in it.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=934234768
That was before the buff, even. Just because I feel differently than you doesn't mean I'm lying, and trying to suggest so doesn't help anything.
maybe you'll understand my comment more, if i tell you what my problem with your post was:
"Dirty trapper main here." unnecessary. "I wouldn't call him weak by any means." welp... at least 90% of the community do. and for a good reason btw. i mean, people rank him below the wraith. THE WRAITH! this is how the community sees him and this is, why so many people ask for buffs. "He's a 4.6 killer that can instantly end a chase before it starts." i didnt rly understand what you ment with "4.6 killer" (i guess the movement speed?) but i agree on that. he can end a chase instantly, IF he happens to have build a good setup around this area. hell, he can wipe out a whole team within 5 seconds just because of the right setup! now im sure trapper sounds incredible strong, but the reality hits him hard. without his traps, he is worse than the wraith. i mean, he is literally the most basic killer in the game, there is nothing special about him at that point. and this is where the problem lies. "Regarding having to walk across the map to set up traps, you probably shouldn't be doing that." agan, worse than wraith if you dont use the traps. also, this is the way you designed him to be! you wanted him to walk around the whole map to get his traps and this is a big critisism point for the trapper. he wastes waaay too much time to get a setup. "That'll waste a lot of time and make it painful obvious to the survivors when they see you walking across the map." true, but again: you designed him that way. "You should typically make one trip around the map and set up each trap somewhere nearby. There's almost always a good trap spot with 16m." and this is where i have the biggest issue with. you suggest, that we play the trapper like a billy, running around the map, chasing the survivors down. but thats not how the trapper is played. trapper is a defense killer, which means that he is good at defending ONE POINT at the map. you cant play WWT (World Wide Trapper), since that wil only weaken his one big strength. trapper is great to loc down 3 near by gens. he should not be hunting outside his defense zone, cause he is weak out there. and this is another reason, why it sucks that we need to travel around the whole map in order to get a single trap. i mean, as trappers we kind of see our traps as our babies (the set ones). we dont want to leave them alone, cause they will be disarmed pretty much asap, cause they are way to easy to find. "If people are finding your traps and disarming them, I would suggest being a little more clever when hiding them." thats easier said than done. i mean, where do you think we place our traps? in the middle of a pallet? of course we place them around the loops, but since survivors know the trap spots by now, they will just run around and start crouching, as soon as they arrive at said spot, looking for a trap. i for an example am always placing my traps at spots where i think survivors will run through when looping me, but this also comes with problems: survivors may not even loop me around that pallet. thats a wasted trap. also, the hit boxes are so super bad, that survivors literally, and now please listen good, since i REALLY want this fixed asap: vault a window and jump over the trap beneath it, without getting trapped. i on the other hand get trapped as soon as i vault the window. pls fix, this is annoying. "Instead of putting them in pallets or windows, hide there somewhere else along the loop in some tall grass. People rarely check an entire loop, and even if they do, they're wasting a lot of time." well, i dont know what kind of survivors you get, but mine always find the traps and still manage to do all the gens in under 10 minutes. this is also where is couldnt beleave that you actually ever played trapper at rank 5 - 1. "The only changes I could really get behind are a slightly larger trap hitbox and maybe +1 trap carrying capacity by default. Replacing the RNG struggling with a set time would be nice too." this is where i agree with you. these changes are necessary, but defenitely not the only things that should happen. e.g. trapper should get a way to reset a trap on the ground without picking it up. he should also get more traps (i'd suggest 10, like the hag), since it would be nice to be able to cover up more space with him. and maybe, just maybe you could add something, in order to make him viable, even without the traps. like a faster movement speed when a trap gets disarmed for X amount of time or something like this.
also, please bring back the old trap set animation! the new one looks soooo bad!
another thing would be, that i want to be able to place traps underneath a hook again. i mean, i understand why you disabled that for the hag, but trappers traps never were that good under there, so why did the nerf have to strike him too? also with the "new" multidirectional unhook i dont think this would be OP by any means. just open your eyes and disarm the trap before saving your friend...honestly, there are reasons why i almost exclusively play billy at red ranks, even though my heart beats for evan only, and thats because evan is just not a viable killer up there. he is very map dependent (give me a single DLC map that is actually good for him. indoor maps = hell. big maps = hell and city maps are always hell, so matter who you play.) the only maps i could actually think are good for hime would be small maps, where the basement almost exclusively spawns in the killer shack (my favourite is the wreckers yard map from autohaven wreckers). the smaller the map, the better your trappy boi becomes. but since the most maps are pretty big, thats bad news for our evan... also decent survivors will just disarm your whole setup within seconds, and i wont even start talking about SWF groups. Trapper is literally the most affected killer against a SWF group.
-
you cant (for some reason). the mods will do that, if you ask them or if they notice it hemselves.
-

i dont think so... id say its yet another bug, which causes us to wait forever. i mean, if there were no survivors playing, then you would get the same people over and over again, right? i always have different ppl in my lobby, so...
-
i dont think his stats (115% in punishment mode / 110% in treatment mode) have changed... i didnt notice anything like that...
-
i have the same problem, but reversed. the killer always wants his hooks but gives a ######### about my vials... (as killer i play seriously, until i got all my hooks. then i farm with them.)
-
i have no problems atm... in fact, the only reason why i have as many vials on the survivor side as on the killer side is, becuase i cant find any survivors in my lobbies...
-
not rly... all it can do is helping you to find someone who is hiding in your LoS... a bit unnecessary, but its a nice touch
-
if there was any spot on the map where the killer cant hook a survivor, cause they would wiggle free, do you have any idea how hardcore the survivors would abuse that? literally every single chase would end at that one spot.
and then you'd start complain about slugging and how boring it is when all 4 are laying there, at said spot, and the killer just let you bleed out. -
asymetrical horror game = one overpowered role vs multiple underpowered roles, who can, if they do it right, beat the overpowered role.
besides the fact, that this is not the case in DbD, please make a little research before posting stuff like this.
