Or we could make it as a Dora the Explorer cameo, "Do you see the hatch?".

Movie studios may have a lot of money, but they have practically no income from video games, so collaborating with video game company is a pure extra cash activity.Poopadelic said:bleh just make simular characters, change up a few things and call it good.

did miramax and the other companies get anything for letting DBD use michael myers?
did new line cinema get anything for the freddy dlc?im sure they have a ton of cash so why wouldnt capcom take in some cash..cash is good, cash is king!
looking at it in a business man fashion
Meanwhile, Capcom already make video games themselves. For companies like these, collaborating with a rival video game company become a question of opportunity, not just cash. Because, a business man wouldn't want to promote a rival company just for petty cash. So they need a significant gain from collaboration, which BHVR probably can't provide.
But ofc as you said, DBD can just change up some details and make original characters. -
Not to be pessimistic, but think like a business negotiator. What can DBD gives to RE? They don't need DBD money, and certainly they don't need extra promotion (if anything, DBD's the one that'll be promoted if it can bring RE characters). So yeah, it's pretty one-sided, which heavily reduce the chance of collaboration.

I feel like this is a flaw in the basic game design. The game was built around the survivors having little communication with each other, and yet because it's a group game, people would want to play with their group. I couldn't think of other multiplayer games which is built around no communication between teammates.

every video I’ve seen of the exploit has had the person try it multiple times before making it work. It’s very unlikely you did it by mistake and you’re just making this post to create evidence that it was an “accident”.
you cheated, deal with it.

Because I have no other games to play while waiting for some new games release (MK11 is the one I'm currently waiting for).

I think people focus to much on the bbq here. The more interesting finding is that in every single period we see less paid perk compared to free perk than what's expected. Granted the math isn't perfect, but from what I know, given free perk appears more often than expected, using a more rigorous math would only widen the gap between the real paid perk rate compared to the expected paid perk rate.

Just want to say that's how politics work. :P Giving people what they want without fundamentally changing anything. I assume we used to complain about having to buy a killer to get their perk will lead to p2w (or something like that)? So they give us a 'solution' that can keep their profit level high.Orion said:@mimzy630 said:

Your analysis doesn't take into account the fact that new perks are entered into the pool on a fairly regular basis, and that the perks from the base game, having been there the longest, will show a higher frequency.Huh? Did you read it? I go Period by Period, analyzing each one with the number of teachable perks in it and the chance for that specific amount of time to have teachable perks. I know perks that have been there longer will have a higher frequency. Duh. Please, go over the numbers again. I made very sure to keep all the percentages correct, and to account to change over time.
Regarding BBQ, Bubba is a pretty old killer. I can't compare his perks to other per-se, but I can at least show the anomaly that is BBQ. Thank you for commenting, but please, do read my numbers.
If the devs wanted to force the players' hands by making DLC perks inaccessible, they could've just not made the Shrine of Secrets in the first place.
Not that I want to push this 'conspiracy theory' or anything. I just think that this isn't that big of a stretch for a conspiracy theory. -

I don't want to defend them, but at the same time, it's a misconception that "random" and "fair" have to go hand in hand. Afaik, they never stated anywhere that the shrine is meant to be fair; they just state that it's random. This means that perks don't have to have equal chance to appear, as long as they don't hand-pick the perks, it's still random.mimzy630 said:I'd rather not think that BHVR is actively lying about the Shrine of Secrets being "random" and "fair," but that seems to be the only option.
To any DBD player reading this, I hope you share it. To BHVR Staff, I ask that you do at least one of the following:
Make a statement that the Shrine of Secrets is rigged
Make the Shrine of Secrets truly random
Release the formula that determines the weekly Shrine of Secrets
Now, would it be good if all perks have equal chance to appear? Yes, ofc. But they don't need to admit a lie that they never make in the first place. If people get the wrong idea due to bhvr's lack of explanation, then it's the people's fault from starting with a wrong set of assumption.

Well, your survivor friend can always jump lobby until they get into your lobby.
-
How did that sneak in?
Btw, how do you say "pretty good job so far" in Spanish? -
Well, the "hook" at the beginning would obviously be one of the devs getting hooked. The high-pitched scream is enough to get the viewers' attention.
-
Completely in the open? I have a feeling that those totems spawn near potential spawn locations for gens/hooks/chests, but the gens/hooks/chests didn't spawn there, leaving the totems out in the open.Bongbingbing said:Other objects? I've seen 2 totems out in the open on penn asylum.
Honestly the totem placements need so much more work or more totems on the maps. -
Oh wow, you actually replied!!! Well, I'm obsessed with graph. Since we're in the era of big data, I've seen a lot of graphs in newspaper or the like that are either misleading or made more complicated than necessary. One of my pet peeves. :PAlwaysInAGoodShape said:I know this is a troll thread, but I'm still trying to interpret the graph (I have no life, I know), and it really doesn't make sense... So DBD was released in 2016, but according to what little notations are written in the graph, DBD has been around for 10 years.
Because Y explicitly state 'compared to previous year', then the unit of X can be assumed to be year (i.e. each dot represent a year). So the first dot to second dot is the launch to first anniv point (hence why it increases from 0 to 100%) This indicate where the 100% point of the Y axis is, hence the final dot is at about 50%. The problem is that the final dot does not indicate 50% compared to the first year, but 50% compated to the previous year (second to last dot), which make the graph very tedious to interpret... Not to mention, given the non-linear nature of the Y axis, it should've been kept as a scatter plot and not a line graph. Hence, the Y axis should've been something simpler.
I'm way overthinking this...
Haha
To be honest, this type of (economic) graph is something they pester highschool/uni students with.
Since it's a percentage in comparison to the previous period, the decline doesn't actually mean that the playerbase is declining. Neither does it mean that the player-base is increasing at a slower rate. The "official graph" shows that the player-base is growing faster every year, because the % increase of new players is bigger than 0, meaning that "the increase is increasing" as long as Y is higher than 0!
but according to what little notations are written in the graph, DBD has been around for 10 years.
I should've said period instead of year. You got me there! Sharp mind (:

The reward for being there for the event is being able to get them for free. IIRC events outfit can't be bought with iri shards.

I'm on the team that says it should be an add-on (maybe rare?) instead of a general buff. Or they can even make a new perk based on this concept.

They would need to hire an actual designer for that lol. Mix&matching outfits for runway is surprisingly not easy because, as you said, there's a big risk of making good pieces look silly with the wrong combo.KillerRaccoon said:I think the biggest problem is that people are mixing and matching the outfits badly, so they appear silly.
If outfit mixing was gone, this problem would be fixed. I’m not saying we should get rid of it though, I like mixing my own unique outfit. The devs just need to make sure that cosmetics can mix with anything and still look good. -
The thing is that the 'silly' outfits that everyone mentioned here feel silly because of how badly designed they are (imo anyway) instead of being made intentionally silly.

Tbh I'm not sure how well can the devs make hairy chest. Hair is one of the most difficult body part to make 3d model and animate, and so far I'm not impressed by the hair models in the game (not saying they're bad; they serve their purpose). I just don't want ugly chest hair.
Off-topic but what I want to see for David is a drop armhole tank top. I just realized how sexy it can (potentially) be. -
Let David's body makes me dead hard.

Or we could make her body wet and her hair move like tentacles. That would be representative of Japanese... Umm... Pop culture.

Let me get this right... So the counter against Legion is to make someone a sacrificial goat while the other 3 survivors gen rush?

There are 2 types of people when it comes to cosmetics:
"It's just cosmetics, that's why it can be expensive."
VS
"It's just cosmetics, so why is it so expensive?"

Is it just me or these 2 points contradict each other? I think it's because 'very little' is often used as a softer way to say 'not moving at all'.ToxicFengM1n said:- Players are becoming less toxic by the day its just hard to notice

On the side note, when Legion was out, the first thing I thought (ignoring the moonwalk problem) was that "he's bad at killing but good at farming, then doesn't this make him a win-win killer?". But apparently most people play this game not to win-win. :P

TL;DR we can replace the current pseudo-rank system to something that's actually rank system (i.e. something that more resembles online competitive games), but in the process will bring a community that goes "YOUR BUILD IS SLIGHTLY LESS THAN OPTIMAL, GTFO!!!".

Anyway, back to OP. I agree with the first point; the rest of them I'm rather impartial with. A daily login of some sort is always a nice thing. It encourages player to keep up to date with the game even when they don't feel like playing. -
I also think it's op, especially since many totems spawn near a gen, which means the killer can guard both the totem and the gen with a single perk.
Maybe change it to just dull totem? Or maybe just destroyed totems (as long as the hex totem still stands)? Revealing aura near hex totems wouldn't work because I'm pretty sure it'll kill Hex: Thrill of the Hunt. -
Give 200k BP to everyone everytime they play as or against Legion.

I think many educated people can understand the concept of probability and statistics. The problem is that average doesn't really bear any implication on a single outcome, while in most practical situation, all people care is the single outcome. When people use salt pouch, they don't think "this will help me if repeated over infinite # of trials", but "I hope this will help me in the next trial".Orion said:@PolarBear said:

For those wondering, you do still get slightly better bloodwebs when prestiging. It's not significant. Prestiging is meant to be optional for people who play the game a lot, not necessary to get good stuff. So is it the same slightly as Salt Pouch? Is it so insignificant that it really couldn't be tested in practice?
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts without Salt Pouch ~11.53% (slightly over 1/9)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with one Salt Pouch ~14.26% (slightly under 1/7)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with two Salt Pouches ~16.94% (slightly over 1/6)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with three Salt Pouches ~19.56% (slightly under 1/5)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with four Salt Pouches ~22.13% (slightly over 1/5, and almost double the default)You may think it's irrelevant, but math doesn't lie. Problem is, humans don't understand probability and statistics.
This means that for an item to be 'relevant', you need to be able to feel the difference over a single trial. -

They can do that since the beginning though. Frenzy hit a healthy survivor, frenzy bar refill, get very close, cancel frenzy, normal hit. The only deterrent is the stun after cancelling frenzy.BigBubs said:I'm pretty sure it's necessary to prevent the legion from closing the distance very fast by using their power, canceling it and landing another normal hit.

They can even just do some kind of 'enhanced' skins with different voice and animations.
Kitana for Huntress
Sub Zero for Hag
Chameleon for Wraith
Bo Rai Cho for Clown
Raiden for Doctor
Shao Kahn for Hillbilly
Smoke for Spirit
Baraka for Legion
And Johnny Cage for David King
