I feel like, except Blendette, it doesn't really matter. No one's gonna blend their way out with David or Jeff, so might as well wear whatever you want.
-
So, the exit opened. I was in the dying state, crawling to the exit. I was about to made it (like, 3 seconds more crawling, I'd escape), the killer was nearby but was distracted by another survivor. Then, the healthy guy that was distracting the killer came and heal me (so I couldn't move), and the killer came, hit him (he escaped) and grabbed me...
At that time I didn't know that cancelling healing by pressing Shift still work even in dying state (I thought you'd have to run run). So I guess it's partly my fault.
-
So, have we figured this out? Who in BHVR do I have to sleep with?
-
Until there is a clear competitor, I don't see this game dying anytime soon. Somehow the other games that tried to replicate DBD formula have failed either because of behind-the-scene issues (licensing, distribution, etc), or they simply didn't get enough hype.

This is actually crazy to close to perk I made in a fan-made chapter i am working on. Great minds think alike lol.
The only problem with your perk is that there's only 3 chests by default, so someone will miss out. I'd replace it to healing another survivor.
-
Yeah, I also hate it when people make loud noises when banging.
-
Yeah, I think WGLF can be expanded so you can get stack from doing other things. Given the description, you should be able to gain stack from Distraction, Killer Grasp Rescue, and aggressive play (Killer Stun, Killer Blind, etc; dunno if they want to encourage more people bringing flashlight though).
-
I don't think this is something that can be solved by the devs. Any kind of extra objectives has the potential to cause this. The only option is to remove extra objectives completely, but I don't think people would want that.

I'm waiting for someone to come on the forums to complain they got camped and tunneled by trapper-bot.
They have their own forum (or was it a Discord channel?) and developer team. That's why not many people complain here; there isn't much that the devs here can do.

It looks like Anarky mask, but less detailed.

This is more for a chase thing. You know how good survivors turn the camera around to see the killer while in chase? With this perk Killer will get a buff if the survivor does that.
-
Decisively obsessed survivors
Or, A Legion of Her Own.
-
When in a chase, I tend to run as far away from the basement as I can get, so I'd avoid shack.
When not in a chase, I'll check the shack for basement, to get the chest or do the "basement gen" or totem, if one spawn.

Brother's Laptop
Your old laptop can barely run this [BAD WORD] piece of a game, so you have to borrow your brother's gaming laptop to play.
If you are within 8 metres of a survivor working on a gen, but are not working on the gen yourself, boost that survivor's repair speed by 3/6/9%. Once out of range, this effect persists for 15 seconds.
"You are done? Can I play?" - Me
Saving Up
You're saving up money, but can't decide whether to get a new phone, laptop, or console. Or maybe you shouldn't indulge in material things and save/invest for the future? That will be more responsible... but who are you kidding?
When you trade an item with an item you found in a chest, restore the old item's charges by 50/60/70%. This perk deactivates after a single use.
Spoonful of Sugar
You fill your med-kit with sweets and decadences... but you're not sharing.
Reduce consumption rate of med-kit by 30/40/50% when you're healing yourself. You will not scream on a failed healing skill check.

You can't interact with (almost) nothing when in dying state because, well the whole dying thing you know. It wouldn't make sense with the other things you can't do when downed.
It's not giving item, just dropping them on the floor (literally just stop gripping an item). We can already do that while healthy/injured, but I can't remember if we can do it while dying.

I just consider those free BP and move on.

This is a really cool idea, but it does not fit DBD in the slightest.
First, Shao Kahn is not a horror character. If a video game character where to make it in, it would be someone from a horror game, like Slenderman or Pyramid Head.
Second, the whole thing is very similar to Oni with a bit of Myers. Ability to increase mobility/gain one shot potential, goes on a long cooldown under certain actions, longer lunge range. The difference is, Oni has to work to get his power, while Shao Kahn just kinda gets it.
Third, this would be the only killer in the game where you actively fight the killer. The closest thing to this in the game is blinding a cloaked Wraith, which is the most unfun part of Wraith. You're supposed to escape the killer, not fight it. Giving Survivors this much ability to disable the killer would be WAY too different from everything else in the game.
Finally, the killer would be a nightmare to play as against SWF. Imagine they communicate well and hit you enough times to only need one more hit to disable you, groups up on a Gen, then hits you when you approach. There is absolutely nothing you can do to stop them from completing the Gen. About to down a survivor on Death Hook? Guess what, you can't do ######### now because some guy came around the corner and blasted you. Not to mention that you can't do a single thing while disabled. You can't even go and clear out the pallets. You can't disrupt survivors. It's like Old Freddy mixed with Old Wraith, where you can't attack, and you can't break anything while disabled.
Not to mention the fact that you left out key numbers. What's his base movespeed, and what is it when Mortal Kombat is active? What's his Terror Radius? These things matter a lot.
For the perks:
Finish Him is useless. It's a useless effect that only comes into play at the very end of the game. I get the thematic part of it, but this would unironically be the worst perk in the game. It does nothing. It encourages you to kill survivors slower, as Mori's typically take longer to go through then finding a hook and hooking them.
You Suck is more interesting, as it has good synergy with several killers. This perk would become Legion's new best Perk, and given that it effects Cleansing, I think that's intentional. It would be really good for Deathslinger, anyone running Play With Your Food, anyone running Thanatophobia, ect. This is a really solid perk.
One True Kahn I think is too similar to Infectious Fright, but not as useful. With Infectious Fright, downing a survivor and immediately knowing if anyone is nearby is super helpful. On Oni and Myers especially, who can easily chain Insta-Downs with it. If they get downed in the open it tells you if you'll get blinded, if you down someone at an undropped pallet it tells you if anyone is going to smack you with it, it just has so many uses. Knowing where everyone is when breaking something has way less uses, and will have less range then Infectious for a chunk of the game. In a chase, breaking a pallet and knowing where the guy is doesn't help much. You're stuck in the animation, so knowing where they are when breaking wont help much since they will not be there when you're done. If you aren't in a chase, and break, say, a Generator, you'll know where the survivor is in that moment, but you won't know where they go. You don't know if they will stay, run left, run right, or if they where already in the process of running and are long gone. And for the range, most killers automatically have more range then that with Infectious. The only use of this perk would be to initiate chases on Survivors that snuck away from a generator before you got there, which is too niche to take up a perk slot. And raising the range won't really help either, as far away survivors will have even more time to hide or escape.
Overall, I think most of this wouldn't really work in the game, but I really like the idea of You Suck.
I'm flattered by your long response. This idea starts with the thought, "how can I make DBD a battle arena?", so I definitely didn't expect anyone to take it seriously. :P
But yeah, I leave out the numbers because those are the kind of things that's fine-tuned during testing/balancing. I honestly have no idea how balanced a killer like this would be.

I also don't see the logic in making the grinding easier for new players since it's way easier to farm BPs nowadays than it used to be before.
Every game in the world should award players for playing. If I played 800 hours more than you, I obviously should have more perks than you, new player with 40 hours.
Stop being crybabies, it used to be alot worse before.
It's only necessary if the game struggles to gain new players, then the devs would have to provide incentives, which can be in the form of fast-tracking the grind. For new players, how the game was in the past is completely irrelevant; it's only what they have to face now that decide whether they'd stay or not.
Again, if the game is attractive enough as it is to new players (that is, the game doesn't struggle to get new players), then they'd stay no matter the grind.

Best to start as a survivor especially with friends so they can teach you the ins and outs. Once you get the hang of the survivor, you'll have more fun as a killer as you'll have an idea of survivor behavior.

I'm not surprised your friends have said no after your description. I'm quite well versed in the game and I don't want to play after reading your description. Probably would have been better to at least throw in some positives in there as well.
The thing is, the only positive is really the concept itself: currently it's one of a kind, having no real competition except Identity V which is a mobile game. So if they don't find the concept very very appealing, the negatives would tire them out quickly.

Point is freedom of choice. They earned it they decide how to and when to use it.
Ofc, I understand. I see your concern, but personally I don't see it as a concern. Again, if for example a survivor main earn 15k BP, they are allowed to spend that how they like it on survivors. The 15k Killer BP? They can just pretend it doesn't exist since they'd never touch killer anyway. Meanwhile, people that play both sides will be grateful for that 15k killer BP.
But I know I'm not gonna change your mind, so I suppose this is the end of our discussion? I'd like to see what other people think of this.

Dude take a hintm this will never be implemented. Its a terrible idea many games have tried to do this before and its a crap idea. Its free currency and people should chose hiw they want to spend it. Telling me i have to,play the other side to level my characters up is ludicrous its a bad idea but the current system allows for freedom of choice and thats how it should be. So instead of focusing on something as small as that other stuff should be focused on.
Perhaps it'll never be implemented, it's just a suggestion. But I have to clarify, you are never forced to play the other side. Say, if you main survivor and would never ever touch killer, your Killer BP will just sit there undisturbed, not affecting you in any way.

@nicknack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1253456#Comment_1253456
Well firstly let me say this. Killer is exponetially easier to farm bp. Many play killer so that they can get to one mill to level up a surv. By taking this away its basicly saying "oh hey you spent all that time getting bp to level up your surrvivor. Now spend it on killer instead". With tomes around this also wouldnt make sense as tome just gives bp so doubt it would be implemented with the tomes. And lastly not everyone likes playing the other side but they still do and saying they cant use the bp they earned on one side is just anti-player freindly. There is no reason at all for this idea to be implemented as it makes no sense. No offense but if i earn bp i should have the right to spend it on whatever side i chose.
I see, so the issue is not that it would increase grind, but rather some players don't want to be told how to spend their BP. I can definitely imagine, if this is implemented, some people will ask for a way to convert Killer BP to Survivor BP (or vice versa), because "they're not gonna play the other side anyway". That's something to consider, though I will say again, if players are not gonna play the other side, they're still not earning any less BP than the peers on their side.
In terms of tome (and daily), they can either do it so that it also gives equal amount to Survivor BP & Killer BP, or make it a neutral BP that has to first be converted to Survivor or Killer BP before being used.
-
@nicknack said:
While you have good intentions this is a bad idea. If anything it would increase the grind even more especially with the tomes. So good intention bad way of going about it.
How would it increase the grind though? Can you explain more?
-
I main David and what you said is... strangely accurate. Solo only. Stay on a gen unless Spine Chill lights up or I spot a totem. Can be altruistic (I'll heal if they cross my path, but only save if Kindred gives its blessing). Once the gate opens, however, I'm not crossing the map just to save someone (sorry not sorry).
-
The thing with rules is that, just like real-life policing, too much and people will think it's intrusive and get annoyed. The devs would've to decide what's illegal and deserve punishment (like abusing bugs), and what might be unideal but should be left alone (like immersive players), lest they run the risk of over-policing.
I definitely don't want new players to get turned off when they learn that they need to earn BP to progress but it comes with so many rules on when/where you can get them.
-
Kleptophobic killer:
Hex: No Swiping
Up to 1/2/3 Chests will be protected. If a survivor tries to open a protected chest, a trap will spring out, injuring the survivor and notifying the killer. The chest will close again immediately (I'm not sure if the chest should then become normal chest or stay protected).
Cleansing the hex will immediately open all protected chests.
Safe Deposit Box
When you open a locker, all other lockers within 20/28/36 metres of the locker will be locked for 30/35/40 seconds. Survivors can't get inside a locked locker, but survivors that are already inside can get out. Have a cooldown of 40 seconds (maybe longer if it's too strong).
Thief Catcher
Survivors that carry item breathe 0/25/50% louder, their grunt of pain is 25/50/75% louder, their footstep is 0/25/50% louder, their blood stains are considerably more discernable, and their scratch mark spawn moderately closer together. (Is this too much? Maybe a hex?)
-
Gotta Go Fast: Sprint Burst, Fixated, Urban Evasion, Tenacity
-
Fixated's walking speed boost to apply when injured.
Technician's explosion prevention to go up to 100%.
Lightweight to also make scratch marks spawn slightly further apart (reverse tier 1 Predator).
-
Like Identity V? Sure, I guess. But really, the easiest way to make a class system is to require survivors to use at least 2 innate perks in their 4 perk slots. Even then, meta won't disappear, since 'meta' is really just 'most commonly used'.
-
I feel bad for taking advantage of the forced anti-aliasing, but since it causes some people unpleasant graphical outcomes, maybe it's time to run Lightweight? Idk, just an idea. It'll be hard to judge its effectiveness without Fixated though.
-
I got the impression that Spine Chill was intended to counter undetectable? But idk, if that's not what the devs intend, then yeah, what you suggested make sense.

Try opening this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bhvr.deadbydaylight&hl=en&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Ddbd+mobile&pcampaignid=APPU_1_MBOpXuyFF8mo9QOB3K2IDg
Then open in play store app. It should reveal whether the game is available in your country.
-
If it's available in your country, it should be right in the Google Play Store. It isn't available in East/South-east Asian countries yet (it'll be published by NetEase there, but no release date as of yet).
I guess there are ways to manipulate the country setting in Google Play account, but idk, never tried it.

DBD x FSOG when?
-
I'd say, if they want to make survivors more unique, they can require 1 or 2 of the 4 perk slots to be filled by the characters' own perk, and the other 3 or 2 can be teachable. I don't think killers should be changed like this though, since they're already unique.
-
Not FBI agent specifically, I'm just basing these on spy movies. They'll work nicely together.
The Lady Vanishes
Activate after completing a generator while within the killer's terror radius. Hide the scratch marks and blood pools of other survivors when they are within 20 metres radius for 4/8/12 seconds. During this period, your scratch marks and blood pools cannot be hidden by other perks.
Secret Passageway
The first locker you enter in the trial will be marked, and it will be highlighted to you with a yellow aura.
When you're inside another locker, press the Active Ability button to teleport to the inside of the marked locker. Cause the Exhausted status effect for 180/150/120 seconds.
Cannot be used when Exhausted.
Living Daylight
Staying inside the killer's terror radius for 25/20/15 seconds will activate this perk. After you exit the killer's terror radius, gain a 15% repair speed buff for 20/25/30 seconds. The buff immediately disappears if you re-enter the killer's terror radius.
