  • For me it's always a Huntress, Freddy or Nurse, and once in a while, Wraith.

adding new features and changing things up a bit eh? Sounds like they might be a little scared of that Evil Dead game that supposed to come out later this year heh. A franchise like that, with a decent game dev like Saber behind it, without the lolsuits friday the 13th were later threatened with when somebody decided to go nuclear against anything with Jason... could be the game that finally pushes these devs to compete for quality and fun in the experience. Hopefully they'll stop expecting killers to be unpaid entertainers by the end of the year and start being concerned about their fun too. Because it could be a lot more fun to be a deadite, or a special infected in Back 4 Blood too. Both of those games could total disasters, but the chances are between their developers and focus at least one of them will be decent enough that their IP will swing enough players over to them and hold onto them for a while.

I mean, while what you say is true, let's not forget that other developers have already tried this genre before and failed. Last Year which failed, relaunched then failed again because the player base dwindled. RE: Resistance, which did last a while but again, failed as the playerbase dwindled. Then there was that Predator game, which god knows what happened to that because I hear nothing about it even existing at this point anymore. So unless these upcoming games throw some amazing features into the game, DbD will still be the leader in this genre for a while.

  • Problem is, not everyone is going to see it as a laugh. What if one day they do it to the wrong person? We've see the effects of Cyber Bullying over the years, and all it takes is to do it to the wrong person, and they could end up harming themselves. Regardless of wether it's a threat or not, this stuff should be taken seriously by both Valve and BHVR, even Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo should they do it via messaging on those consoles. Cyber Bullying is not ok, and should not be ignored by anyone. Especially devs who are supposed to be dealing with reports like this.

  • Well, since this is a recreation of the real world inside the Entity's realm, it could be a way for the Entity to torture Tapp. Obviously we all know Tapp was hunting Jigsaw, but since he's essentially been abducted into this alternate reality, this could just be a way to make Tapp lose hope. He failed to stop Jigsaw from killing innocents and the entity hopes that Tapp seeing this will make him lose hope. And since we know the Entity feeds on survivors losing hope, this could be the way to do it.

  • I like the whole portrait thing, that's cool and everything, but it looks FAR too much like it's a mobile game ported to console/PC now. And when your injured? You can barely even tell (At least when I watched Otz) that someone is actually injured. And the hook compass thing? I mean, I assume it was a indicator pointing toward a hooked person when I saw it on Otz's video. What is this even for? Does the big yellow highlight not indicate: This is hook. You hooked person here. You walk away now. Like, I don't need a RPG type waypoint reminding me where my hooked survivor was. And if it isn't a hook compass, then this rant was for nothing. But overall, the new UI just looks clunky.

  • I'd like to hope that the devs at least learned something from the, what was it? Over 100 new bugs or something with the Twins? But, we will have to wait and see I guess

  • For me, since I play permenant solo mode, I always use Kindred in my builds. Let's me see the killer at hooked survivors, and lets them see the killer when I'm hooked. My other perks are usually Inner Strength to get quick heals since there are times either the survivors just run away and don't heal me, or the killer may come darting back and I can go heal myself. Quick and Quiet for leaping into a locker to heal and a 4th perk I usually use for fun. Right now it's Deception which has helped me so many times in a chase.

  • It's random most times. DS chooses a random survivor to be an obsession, and lessens the chance of the person using DS to be the Obsession. Then of course, if they use it, they become the new obsession

  • Two words: Power Trip. People who taunt and basically rub in a win to a killer who lost are usually the same ones to ######### and cry about losing to someone stronger than them. When they sit there rubbing in their precious win at the exit, they should really be thinking about how they would feel in that position. I've been there many times, and it's not a nice feeling at all. Anytime I get teammates who do this, I let the killer kill me because they don't deserve to be treat like dirt for trying to play

I dont think konami even knows what the game is and just told BHVR they can have whatever. They've been extremely generous and allow you to change Cheryls in game outfit with a free sweater or tank tops from the game...tank tops she wore with jeans in the game. And her custom outfits that BHVR created are locked, same with PH.

I just don't see how this could possibly be Konami's fault (and they're normally very at fault!) Its BHVR being stupid. With the amount of freedom Konami has given im positive they could get this outfit but BHVR doesn't want it. Probably thinks "too silly" like JokeFace. Meanwhile; Nea

I mean, we have Clown dressing up as a giant Elephant, Legions walking around in a Robbie the Rabbit mascot outfit, we have a Krampus Trapper and Dwight put on a box for christmas, but I guess Princess Heart Heather/Cheryl is too far. Damn you BHVR. Your logic is too sound ๐Ÿ˜‘

  • Let us find the Heather Beam in a chest as a random item and just go to town on killers. It's won't be OP at all, honest BHVR ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Yes! We have Lisa and Loot Goblin Cybil, so for the love of god BHVR, get Konami on the phone and get Princess Heart in. I don't care if I have to pay the legendary skin price, this was my favourite outfit back in SH3!

    It already does, doesn't it?

Yeah it does. Can't remember the numbers but it does boost self-care with a Med-Kit on yourself, and it does stack with Botany.

  • I've been trying to learn Nurse on PS4 and it's bad enough with a controller, but throw in new maps and I find I'm just getting blocked by a wall that should clearly be passable, or the fact the auto-aim is so OTT right now (On every killer, not just Nurse), that I'll blink onto someone, go to swing but the camera jerks itself so far sideways I hit a wall or something. I've pretty much put her on hold, and if she is to be added into a Tome, it's one Tome I may never get to complete unless survivor challenges are simple to do.

  • Well, put it this way. 1 killer = 4 survivors. Which side do you think has more voices to shout louder?

  • It was indeed. Honestly, one of the best moments in my DbD career to see someone get same treatment they try dish out ๐Ÿ˜

  • It's a sad reality when SWF feel the need to bully killers via Toxicity. As people say, never let them get to you. They just crave the attention and are most likely just trying to show off for their friends. Just play normally and give them a GG in end-game if you can.

Of course, some SWF bully squads also fail miserably when they try which is even better. An example of this is a match I had last night against a SWF Blly squad that tried to play the 'deny hooks' game.

    BullySquadFail.jpg

They tried the usual low rank = baby killer routine on me. They clearly didn't know how to go against a Hag well, because despite me only having a Body-block add-on, they couldn't handle it at all. So best thing to do is stay calm in a match, and just try your best, and try enjoy yourself, because no matter how toxic people try to act, there are far more positive players in the game who will give you a friendly match.

  • The issue is, with these map reworks now, how many gens do you see next to a vaultable window these days? Very few. Even if you do manage to block all windows next to a gen, there's most likely a pallet sitting right there too that gives them safety to flee. It needs to be changed to maybe block ALL vaults in the map for X seconds, rather than the gens area. It wouldn't be OP, and if you were in a chase far from a gen, you'd get some kind of use from the perk at least.

Apparently there are hacks to avoid the anti cheat system. I came across several hackers watching my bro where he can make killers have survivor perks, survs have killer perks and give themself the ability to teleport, go through walls. Through pallets, windows. So yeah. The devs lack of foresight is just laughable.

I had one last night as killer. I started chasing a Meg and she Sprint Bursts away, because, of course: Meg. So I proceed to follow but notice she isn't slowing down. She seems to be going faster than me, the killer who's SUPPOSED to slowly catch up. I just think maybe I'm imagining it and go find someone else. I find a Kate and start a chase, when Meghead appears once again. Now, I'm no genius on the workings of time but... T3 Sprint Burst = 40 seconds minimum waiting time to use again, unless you decided to continue running everywhere while Exhausted then you're waiting far longer. It has been about 10 seconds since I left the Meg, so there was no way in hell she could Sprint Burst me again, so I thought, yep, easy hit for the cocky Meg. I go to swing, and zoom. Sprint Burst, but I swear it was double the speed of a Sprint Burst. Even the Kate stopped right beside me to watch so it. But, there is a good side to this story funnily enough. It seemed the Meg was a solo player, and the other 3 somehow formed a peace treaty with me. For a couple of minutes I couldn't find anyone. No gens were being done, no AFK crows. Then I hear explosion spam at the basement. I'm thinking, great, Meg again. Well, turns out the Survivors had turned against the hacking Meg and trapped her in the basement for me to kill. Seems they didn't approve of the hacker. I did record the gameplay but since I'm on PS4, I can't transfer it to a report yet, but it is good that there are survivors who will work against hackers like that. We don't need them ruining the game for us when some of us legit just want to have some fun.

  • I mean, I do see your point. People SHOULD use the killer being changed/added in a PTB, but at the same time, it's a PTB. Having other killers being used can identify bugs and glitches with them as well as the ones being changed or added, especially when perks are involved. Not that these reported bugs ever do get fixed of course.

  • I've fallen in love with Deception. It brings me such joy when I fake the locker and hear the killer begin checking every locker in the area. Even when I fall for it when playing killer, it makes me laugh that I deep down knew it was Deception but I just had to be sure.

  • Man I really hope so. I love playing as and against Demopuppy but man, he is so painful to play as when his best add-ons are brown. Demo needs love and reworks!

  • I think they both look amazing. The Game map has finally done the SAW franchise a justice and made it feel more like an actual set of the SAW films. The breakable doors in there are questionable but they always are on these new reworks. But, I still love how it looks now. Crotus Prenn actually blew my mind. It feels so dark there now, almost like a graveyard with the fogginess around. I'm actually looking forward to playing these maps now.

  • The issue is, you don't KNOW they suicided on purpose, or if they literally didn't have time to stay in a match. They could be console and their controller died, which has happened to me mid-struggle, or maybe they had a IRL emergancy they had to go deal with. Or maybe they just wanted to peace out and leave. You can't force a person to play a match they want to leave. Yes, suicides on hook is annoying but forcing someone to play when they don't want to is not the answer.

  • Damn you, good sir. Take my upvote!

  • I usually play Blight so whenever I see a corn map, or Lery's I'm pretty much just accepting defeat at that point. Corn maps for obvious reasons: Blight can't even see over a ledge, never mind the corn and Lery's because every damn box seems to have a mile wide radius that I manage to hit whenever I try rush past them

  • I mean, with this kind of logic, I should be a master at playing Nurse because I can hit the DS skillcheck everytime. I mean, it's not THAT hard when you're expecting it.

LMAO I still got that Dark sense one too. I thought for sure it just meant equip the perk and have 4 gens completed in the trial ya know before you die. Once I figured out they want you physically on all four of the gens I was like **** that. Never tried again.

Tome 1 was the bane of my existence. I either had 4 gens with Dark Sense in 1 trial, which wasn't happening playing solo, or grab 2 survivors as killer, which as we all know, tends not to work at the best of times. It took me 5 months after Tome 1 ended just to even try do the grab one to unlock the charm in the end.

  • Cleansing Totems isn't too bad of a challenge for me since I play solo and always hunt them out for my Inner Strength so I'm usually knocking at least 3-4 per match. The Billy challenge is one I'll never complete mainly because I'm that moron that revs too soon or smacks into a wall trying to chainsaw. I only managed an earlier challenge of hit X survivors in a single match (I think it was in a previous tome?) thanks to the Speed Limiter to show I had no intention of winning and they happily let me keep using the chainsaw. 3 Gens in a single trial solo is a nightmare. I've still got the 4 gens in a trial with Dark Sense from Tome 1 incomplete because of this exact reason. Solo. There is no way to know if Kate 50 meters away is about to pop a gen or if I have time to finish one as the killer is about to go stabby hands at me. It feels like a lot of the challenges, at least survivor ones, are based around knowing what teammates are doing, and since Solo are extremely limited to basic perk info, you're at a loss most of the time unless you follow them around. I don't mind the single trial challenges, but when the numbers are that high, it feels like a losing battle constantly becaue you're either screwing over teammates trying to get it done, or you're not getting it done at all.

  • @Nossy said:

No i dont think its a bug, there is a killer perk wich do that (the one that exhaust surv on gens) and also the surv perk that dont explode gens when they fail a skillcheck.

Edit : Dragons grip do that too i juste remember

Pretty sure it is a bug. The killer perk your referring to, Mindbreaker, doesn't cause a surviovr to act as though the gen exploded silently, neither does Dragons Grip. And Feng's Technician perk causes the gen to explode silently but that doesn't cause the visual of a failed skill check either.

  • Gotta admit, Gideon is looking good. I'm really curious to see what that is on the hooks. Seems like a SAW countdown timer or something. I'd actually be pretty damn amazed if that did show a 2 minute countdown if you were hooked. I'd play The Game offerings so much more just to see it.

  • I'm all for rewarding players for sticking with the game, but I wouldn't want Legacy. I'm a console player and I Feel that if we did get Legacy, that negates Legacy's overall value for those who earned it back in the day, which from what I hear, was a hell of a grind to earn. I'd prefer they just did something with Devotion levels. That to me is more a show of time played. Like, each Devotion level you earn let's you choose a full outfit solely created for Devotion for a survivor or killer of your choice. Something that is unique, new and wouldn't devalue existing cosmetics.

  • I'm on the EU servers and it's the same here. I personally prefer to play killer, but I will point blank refuse after a certain time because during the day, it's way calmer, and actually fun to play as killer, wether a win or loss. But once evening rolls around you can instantly see the SWF teams, which I have no issue with people playing as SWF, but there are too many that just act toxic or go out of their way to ruin the killer's fun for them. Even when I try just to play for fun or points, which most of my matches are honestly because I've given up on winning as killer anymore, it's not fun at all when you go against some kind of faze clan tournament players who are playins as if they're about to win a cash prize for escaping.

  • @The_Bootie_Gorgon said:

Get rid of humans playing killer.

    Make killer AI.

You want people to play how you want and that is not going to happen.

When playing games with other humans, you need to accept that you can't control how they play.

That's not what I'm saying at all. People can play how they want. I could care less if they decided to go stand in the corner for 25 minutes. The fact is, I play the game to actually interact with it. Not stare at other people doing it for me. Would you in reality buy a game at full price and then enjoy watching others play it while you're stuck unable to do anything? That's my point I'm trying to make. I could care less if I die in my matches, but I like to at least get to play something of it.

  • @Yamaoka said:

So what's your proposal ? Just complaining about something isn't helpful you know.

No one likes getting facecamped at the start of the match but if no one comes up with a fair solution then what's the point in complaining about it ?

True, there should be a solution, but complaining about it does bring it to attention more. If it's ignored, it just stays that way. Better to speak up about it than let it continue. I'd suggest maybe a mechanic that if a killer has remained in the hook vicinity for maybe 45 seconds, the survivor is able to free themselves with a BT effect to at least give them a fighting chance of escape. But beyond that, I'd have no other realistic ideas of how to combat it.

That's true, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was personally insulted that they didn't take my question, I guess it just seemed like it was a pretty innocuous question to ask from my perspective. Seems like they could earn so much good will with a simple change like that. I guess I'm just more frustrated in that I can't wrap my head around the decision process that goes on for stuff like this

Oh I totally get it. I'd rather your question be answered than a 'Did it take long for the map to be reworked'. It just feels so insulting that people are asking really good questions, but they're ignored for the safety of no backlash for their answers. I'd actually have more respect for them if they did answer the risky questions because to me, it shows them willing to face the issues, rather than try ignore them and hope they quiet down.

Last Q&A, I put in a question asking them if they'd be open to Iri shards on the free track. Got around 50 upvotes I think, and they ignored it. Soooo... seems like the most charitable they're going to be is some BP or something on the free track

I feel like I'm dealing with the video game equivalent of comcast here

I wouldn't take it personally. Assuming you've seen their Q&A's, they ALWAYS cherry pick the 'safe' questions to give a simple yes or no to. Everytime I've watched, it's always the most safe and useless question, and they never go into any details.

This. It's not my fault as a solo player that my team suicided on hook or totally sucked. I'm already being punished anyway for low BP gains, why should I be punished even more?

Exactly this. I've literally gone into a match once before and because it was a Freddy, the other 3 insta-DC'ed. The killer was decent though and let me do gens enough to get points and try safety pip but the fact stands solo shouldn't be punished because others are potatoes or leave you screwed over.

  • As Survivor I'm kinda like 'Yeah, I got like 3 hooks so I'm good' right until that 3rd hook is coming and I become a 5 year old girl panicking for my life. But as Killer, I feel like I've developed some sort of PTSD before a match even loads. It takes me a good 10 minutes of mental preperation to be ready for one!

  • Honestly, seems like it was rushed out the door for Stadia since they seem to have some kind of deal on it. Free on there or something, not really sure. But I don't get why consoles haven't gotten it. Microsoft have even confirmed it isn't down to them, but the Devs of the game in question. They just have to 'flick a switch' according to them. And most games do Cross-Progression these days, so it just feels like they're stalling on it now.

I don't think killer legendary skins are worth it just because of the lack of seeing your own skin compared to survivors. I still think Lisa is the best legendary so far.

This, 100%. I rarely buy killer skins because I'll only ever see the weapon, or if I mori, which is extrememly rare. I bought a PH skin mainly because I'm a major SH Fanboy and PH was a favourite from SH2 so it was a must. I also bought Lisa for Cheryl but beyond that I rarely buy any skins. Most of my skins are either from the Shards I earned, or the Rift.

  • @IndianaDadGuy said:

My suggestion was to reset the kill timer, honestly. You're penalized by RNG rather than failed skill attempts currently. If it resets the timer after passing skill checks, then fine - it just wastes time. It shouldn't kill you after passing every skill check thrown at you, multiple times.

That is kind of the point of the traps though. If you've ever seen the Saw films, it highlights this very point. Someone who is trying to get a trap off their head who is about to die from it will panic. Panic = mistakes. Of course this is a game, so that logic doesn't fully apply since you don't die for real. But, a survivor who's timer is getting low WILL begin to panic and abandon gens for a box. This is Pigs power. She passivly forces you from gens to get a trap off, while she can also track you at the boxes meaning she's pressuring survivors more and more. Having her traps just fall off because you managed to hit a skill check or 2 is such a insane nerf, you might as well have her hold your hand to the door every match.

Everybody is talking about side topics instead of the main one and it's that at loops if the m2 were instant people would go for those shots more instead of baiting that's why it got changed. I'm tired of survivors dodging it easily when not in animation lock or when they can see you about to do it

As someone who mains PH often, I disagree with the need for it to be instant. That's like saying Huntress should just be able to minigun her Hatchets across the map. You complain people can dodge it, but yeah, that is kind of the point. You want the power to be instant? You'd create the most OP killer in the game. Survivors need to be able to dodge the attack, hence the clear box that appears on the floor to give them a chance. It's their only counter to his power. If they're dodging you easily, then you need to start being unpredictible. Don't aim at them, aim toward a direction they could run. They're going to expect a hit less from another direction rather than one straight at them.

  • For me personally, I don't like her power. There is zero counter to it. Every other killer has some kind of a counter. Trapper - Disable traps, Wraith - Lightburn, Ghostface - Stare at him. The list goes on. Spirit, nothing. You have to guess when she's about to unphase on you, and maybe hope a pallet can stun her, or she misses. And the fact she can just stand still and fake her power for a free hit. She's not super OP, but it does seem pretty unfair there's not much you can do to counter her Phasewalk when you can barely tell where she's about to come from.

  • Ahh I love a happy ending. Here's hoping more fall into your Spooky Myer's arms in the future!

  • I only have Cheryl P3-50 right now, since she's a childhood favourite of mine since I'm a major SH Fanboy. Everyone else is maxed at 50. I may prestige others at some point if I have the energy.

  • Surprisingly often on PS4 just because I worked with fellow solo players trying to help them stay alive or take hits for them. I once had someone literally argue with me for 20 minutes via messages over a Jane Head-On'ing him from a locker I ran past (I had no idea she was there) and he was adamant that I was a SWF and we bullied him.

  • First off, never let people get to you in the EGC. They want a rise, and I'd advise just GG'ing and leaving it at that. As for the hook situation, honestly, if someone decided to try unhook in my face, I'll stay and watch because they could have Deliverence (Free Unhook). And you'd be VERY surprised how many red ranks have no idea how certain killer perks work. Spies being a big one. I've been called a hacker myself for using it because it let me track someone in Hawkins once. You'd think someone with 2000+ hours would understand how a perk that's been in the game from the start works. As for the camping, I wouldn't say you camped at all. You knew someone was in the area, and you searched. Because you couldn't find them, rehooking the one you found was the best choice, otherwise you lose pressure all over again. People like to throw around camper and tunneller often, despite many doing it for the reason you did. Because they're still in the area. But overall, just play how you feel is best for you. There is no right or wrong. Just many survivor mains would rather you play by their rules (AKA Stand in a corner until your given permission to play)

  • There's no denying that some players are bad, but I've never had an issue with them. They're just playing the game the same as anyone else. Those 'bad' players may not get to play as much as someone else, but it doesn't mean people should be telling them to 'git gud' or not play etc. If people stopped taking the game so seriously as thought they'd win a cash cup or something, maybe we'd all have a little more fun.
