  • I agree from a killer perspective. I've literally just gotten out of a match and I was chasing a Cheryl on Ormand. She fast vaulted a window on the 2nd floor of the building and I pretty much could see it being a miss when I swung, but it actually hit her, even though I could clearly see her about to hit the ground. Even I knew it shouldn't of connected, and I've been seeing far more of these sorts of hits where I'll swing a little too early but it still connects because a fraction of air touched the survivor. I feel really scummy for it because I feel like they're being cheated for bad hitboxes.

  • Not really. I've played games for over 25 years now, and played online for about 15. I'm 31 now. I haven't got time for people who want to act childish and tell me to go top myself, or they're going to do things to my family. It just shows how sad people really are to act this way over a game. Win or lose, I've never once felt the need to tell someone to go kill themselves. People who do need to be removed from any sort of online presence and actually get a life for once.

Play with your friends. I don’t care about that.

But maybe play the game as intended once in a while instead of with information bloat.

Honestly agree. I don't mind people who play with comms, but when it's a 4-man sweat squad. What is a killer supposed to do? I sometimes play with my friend and we do have a party chat (Via PS4) but we more or less just mock each other for going down. We never actually say where the killer is, or if he's coming for one of us, mainly because we're usually trying to get each other killed. But my point is it's far more fun when you don't expect things coming. I love the shock factor of seeing the killer suddenly appearing and chasing me. Being in comms and being told where the killer is like a GPS tracker is not fun or entertaining in the slightest for me.

  • I do agree that unhooking in front of the killer is a stupid move, unless they have zero choice in the matter, eg: They're about to hit 2nd stage/die. But you can't class a survivor unhooking then being redowned as working with the killer. And of course a killer is going to just rehook the person they redowned. Why wouldn't they? A survivor just unhooked in their face, and without BT they just pretty much handed over free pressure to the killer.

Me too, i don't care if it was his personal stream, he is talking and playing the game he works for. He chooses to stream, no one is forcing him. Like you said he could just say something like that, or their usual 'we can't talk about that', nope, he straight up choose to be mean towards people with disabilities, which IMO isn't acceptable, even more from the game designer.

Yep. I've worked in Customer Service for 10 years of my life, and the one thing we always have drilled into our heads is 'No matter where you are, or what you are doing, you are always representing the company'. If I did what he did on a stream, I'd have been sacked the next day because regardless of wether or not he or the entire company share this view, this made the entire company look bad, not just him, and that's a huge no no since higher ups have to deal with the backlash, and the last thing investors of the company need is bad PR

  • @Maperson said:

I mean that is kinda unacceptable behavior from game designer. You decided to stream, you knew questions like that could pop up, no one is forcing you to answer them. He basically said people with disability to f off because they are boring, I mean that is really unprofessional and very disrespectful from his side.

I actually found it quite disgusting, regardless of wether or not someone was repeatedly asking the question. The simple fact he responded in this way is so unprofessional. I've seen people saying 'Oh but he was on his personal stream, he didn't want to be bothered about work questions' and to that I say that is not an excuse. He could have simply said 'We have something in the works but we can't openly discuss it yet'. Simple answer, and it gives people who requested it some hope something is happening. But the fact that BHVR don't even issue an apology beyond the half-baked 'Well we didn't want to reveal it but because we just got crapped on from a Disability Charity CEO we have to now' shows to me they wouldn't have said a word otherwise. He represents the company at all times, not just when he's on work hours, and to have this attitude reflects really bad on the overall company, as we are now seeing.

  • It was stated before the Rift was even released that any cosmetics that were placed into the Rift pass would be released after 6 months of their initial release. Considering that these 'new' cosmetics on the store have been in-game since 2019 and have only just been placed in there, these 'exclusives' you had have been that way for over a year.

  • This isn't anything new. It's been around for a while, it just died off when people realised they were idiots for it. Seems to be making a reappearence lately though, and as you say, no killer is going to just walk away when you have been handed pretty much 2 free kills. The best part about it which always makes me laugh is when the one who's under the hook accuses you of camping the hooked survivor. Simple response: Don't give me a reason to do it then. I would just love to see into the mind of people who do this just to see what they actually expect to happen.

  • It would be nice for sure. I've got so many items on my Dwight that I rarely use now since I like to main Cheryl that I wish I could give to her.

  • Demo because I love his chase music and he is a fun killer to VS. Also Ghostface just because he legit still frightens the crap out of me when he just 'appears' from nowhere and grabs me off a gen

The new game is a hero shooter (think OW, Apex, TF2) deathmatch thing. It's nothing at all like DBD.

Oh is it? Haven't seen the trailer or the reveal for it. Maybe theres a chance that RE will come to DbD after all then. I mean, I'd love it to at least.

It is more than obvious, since Silent Hill came out in DBD, many theorized to see a hypothetical episode of RE, with the announcement that we will see STARS this year, it is 2 of 2, 1, perhaps they refer to RE and 2, Stars of the horror movies, but with the confirmation that RE: Village will be released on those dates, I think that Behaviur could be used on those dates to negotiate and obtain the capcom license, also the theory is having more force.

There's a big difference in Silent Hill and Resident Evil though. Konami single handedly butchered Silent Hill into the ground then cancelled PT/Silent Hills, so Silent Hill was pretty much dead meaning DbD could purchase the rights to use it. Resident Evil is far from dead, since it's had 2 remakes, and yes, Re:Resistance did fail, but with a new multiplayer game coming out, it seems unlikely that they'd give their characters to another game when they'd want to keep them for their own. I mean, I'd love to be wrong because I love Resident Evil and seeing it in DbD would be amazing. I was taken back when PH and Cheryl were announced, so here's hoping the same happens this year.

    I don't really think so.

They're trying to avoid annoucing unfinished features (what is good thinking on The Twins). And some things are better announced that way.

Maybe for certain things sure, but Color-Blindness support has been asked for nearly 5 years now, and the fact they only reveal it when they get literal outside sources causing backlash for what a Dev said on a stream. This could all have been so easily avoided if they just announced they were finally adding support for it, but they didn't. They tried to hide it as if it was a new chapter.

  • A team of SWF Head On'er's gives me major PTSD whenever I see a locker

  • I played them a few times at launch but theres too many negatives for them. Victor gets a major cooldown if he misses, which always results in me being kicked into space. Charlotte forgets how to move for a few seconds when she wakes up which is slower than Nurse and Legion cooldowns. She's slow and can't really apply pressure on everyone easily. And the only viable playstyle for her is camp and tunnel, which I personally despise and refuse to do. So I never bothered using them again.

  • Right now, being in the higher ranks as survivor is better than being stuck with Rank 20's (No offense to any of them). I find a lot of the newer players will literally hide or just outright not do objectives if they even think the killer could be close by, and it's a nightmare to deal with. As Killer, it doesn't seem to matter what rank you are since you get rainbow ranks most of the time anyway. So it's down to preference really. Personally, I like to stay in the middle for both roles.

  • Oh, Spirit is totally fine. How dare these entitled Survivor mains demand a killer who literally stands still at a pallet and gets a free down with zero effort demand a counter-play. Such a nerve!

Yes, hearing him breath when cloaked is enough IMO. He is so damn loud on the Swamp maps that you will know even if the line of sight is broken.

Oh I agree, it's far too loud. Kind of like Demo's tank feet coming at you. It does defeat the purpose of a stealth killer when you can hear his size 20's stomping toward you. Making them slightly quieter would be better in the long run.

  • Even with Iron Will, she can STILL hear you injured when she has Stridor. I've had so many matches where I have Iron Will, yet as long as she has Stridor, she and you will both hear your character still moan in pain, which really defeats the purpose of Iron Will.

  • I mean, you need some sort of tell he's coming right? You can even hear him breathing when he's cloaked too. Same as GF. You'll hear his clothes waving when he's stealthed and coming closer

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

I´m sorry you fell victim to this nasty, abusable perk.

You haven´t even experienced the worst when it comes to Object, though. Try playing Trapper against a 4man with Object.

Reminds me of my earlier match against the same, but as Hag. It was so fun watching my Trap counter constantly go back to 10 because all 4 just Flashlighted my traps, and I couldn't catch a single one because they all knew where I Was coming from at all times. It was a big ol' nope from me and I just quit the game for the day after that match.

  • As much as I'd love this feature to be finally added, even as just voice proximity chat, I doubt these people will ever remotely care they aren't team players. I've had people literally hide for a full 5 minutes while I'm looping the killer all so they can steal hatch and escape free, despite doing nothing to help and having barely 10k points. Escaping is just some peoples objective, regardless wether they help or not.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

No amount of Blood Points will encourage players to play killer more on a consistent basis. Most have BBQ to farm points and there is a limit to how much harassment one can take. Maybe if they gave out shards, but even then, cosmetics that can be purchased with shards are rather bland except for the holiday stuff.

This. I prefer killer over survivor, but even if you offered me a 10X BP bonus I wouldn't play as much anyway. Killer becomes like a job after a few matches. Boring, stressful and not worth the effort at times. Survivor's not that much better since I solo, but it feels far more relaxed than killer does.

If anything we should be able to "sell" items back to the entity at half rate. :P

This literally needs to be a thing in some way or form. I have so many Mori's which I never use, even before the change I never used them. Or all my Mist offerings and Shrouds. They're just junk for me and I'd love to be able to at least trade them in for something semi-useful.

What about somehow I have good ping for over 5hrs suddenly one game I became so laggy a confirmed hit and I mean blood sound survivor scream becomes negated (somehow still got 2k) which is completely weird

I had the exact same a couple days ago. Chasing a Claudette that I hit, she screamed and it should have been a down, but it rubberbanded me backwards and she kept on running. It's super annoying.

And to the OP, people do it because, well, people. You'll always get the ones who think they're the funniest people on the planet when they go out of their way to ruin events on any game for people who legit just want to take part in them

  • It's kind of depressing when a survivor is tagged in a certain way. I love to play as Claudette because I have her Gold dress skin which I love on her, and there is no way in hell I'm hiding anywhere on a map when you could shine a light on me and create a beacon, but killers still class me as a Blendette. I mean, sure, maybe if you put me in a Gold mine I'd blend.

  • It would be a good killer, but SWF would obliterate a killer like that 100% of the time. You'd never be able to fake around them.

  • I know the pain. I had a match against a Rank 14 Doc, with 3 Rank 16's despite me being Rank 4. And I was solo. And I died of course, because despite looping this Doctor for 5 minutes in The Game map, the remaning survivor hid in a locker the entire time and waited for hatch because they had Bills hatch perk. I was foaming at the mouth over her.

  • Please keep booping snoots. Anytime I play Pig I always crouch at the last survivor whos looking for hatch or when they're in the Exit and do small roars and they all just freak out and run away. Like, come on. Just boop my damn snoot people. If I was going to kill you, I wouldn't spend nearly 2 seconds crouching on the floor to do it!

  • I had a Nancy do it to a Elodie last night. The Elodie was PS4 with me and the Nancy was a PC player. She tried to unhook in my face, failed then crawled under the Elodie. The Elodie clearly wasn't having any of it because she literally just suicided the hook. The Nancy was camped because screw players like that. The Elodie was fine with suiciding since they messaged me post-game and said there was no hard feelings. I just don't understand what these idiots think we're going to do when they do that? Just walk off and leave them? No thanks, hook crawler just gave me a free 2k right there.

I've had this issue for about a month and a half now, it's very frustrating because I love the skin but the glitchy skirt is so annoying, sometimes it even glitches completely through her legs and just becomes a hip cape for the rest of the game!

It's been reported a couple times in the bug report section but it doesn't go anywhere, and knowing BHVR it probably never will :((

The same thing happens to Nancy with her Red Plaid skirt. Sometimes after vaulting or being hooked, her skirt just flies through her and all you see is a flat skirt floating behind her, while her front displays just her black underwear. And it's been like this since that skin was released, it's insane.

  • It triggers my anxiety so bad when I load into killer matches and mentally prepare myself, but I refuse to let this game beat me in this imaginary war I have created with the Entity and the survivors. One day I'll leave... Maybe... Most likely never but MAYBE!

  • Man sucks when that happens. I had it happen earlier today. Just going about my business in a match as Ghostface, and I was chasing (OR thought I was) a Kate, and she just starts running in a straight line from the top of the map to the bottom. I was thinking, is she literally the embodiment of the 'Hold W' thing we hear all the time? No, turns out I Got disconnected from the servers about 30 seconds beforehand, just as I started chasing the Kate. It really does suck to get a penalty for something beyond our control, but at least it was only 5 minutes I guess.

  • I used to be a killer main, but I'm more 70/30 for survivor/killer. I just can't play more than 1 or 2 matches as killer anymore. It's far too stressful and the way people play as though they're in some world cash cup is insane. Survivors not much better at times but at least I can feel somewhat relaxed

  • @JinSime said:

I doesn't make much of a difference when there's 2 people on a gen. With 2 people it reduces about 6 seconds you'd take without it.

But it gets nasty with 3 and 4 people, I guess it reduces up to 9-12 seconds with 3/4 people. That's a lot considering how fast 3/4 people can do a gen. It's a good counter to ruin or pop.

Throw in BNP with Toolboxes and all 4 on a gen? I've seen a gen go as fast as 25 seconds after a match starts. It can be pretty crazy when it works well

  • Careful there, you're survivor main bias is showing hard.

  • @AetherBytes said:

Lag without a doubt. You rubberbanded as well

Yeah I thought so. I wasn't 100% sure because she screamed as I hit her. No big deal, it wasn't a major issue, I just wanted to be sure it wasn't some very nimble hacking or something

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I had a nurse show me mercy today. She tunneled a key holder who was somewhat toxic and when it came to my turn, I just crouched and did a little dance and offered her my purple toolbox. She nodded at me, motioned for me to follow her and led me to the dropped key and then proceeded to kill everyone else. I attempted to save one other person but she shook her head and I listened and went away, I wasn't going to push my luck.

She confirmed that she liked my dance and thought my Claudette was cute.

Whenever I play killer and I've snowballed a team into last winter, and the final survivor does a little crouch dance in front of me, my killer heart melts and I can't bring myself to murder them anymore. I always let them go for the hatch or an exit gate. They just look so innocent and defenseless 🤗

  • I've had my suspiscions it's been active for a while honestly, but more so these past couple weeks. I've noticed more and more rainbow matches. I'd put it down to SWF or something, but it's even happening when I play survivor. I had my friend playing with me and we are both Rank 4, and the killer was Rank 2, but the other 2 survivors were Rank 15 and 14.

  • @Volcz said:

You realize not everyone plays SWF, right?

And solo que means 3 other strangers who aren't able to communicate with each other and coordinate like that.

Totems are in predictable spots on most maps. MES has tougher spots, and most of the time, people aren't actively looking unless its confirmed the killer is running Undying+Ruin+Devour Hope.

Also, have you never seen a totem in a spot that can't be cleansed? B/c I've come across 3 totems, 1 hexed, just recently and it was in a spot that was bugged or just no matter what angle you tried, you weren't able to cleanse it.

I don't think Undying or Ruin is hard to play against, but your point with B) is just 1 sided as hell. This game wasn't created with SWF, it was implemented as a community wish and now its gotten to the point where too many people rely on it. A lot of people still solo que so B) goes out the window.

This. I only play solo, and 9/10 matches, there's a dull totem sitting beside a Gen with 2 people on it. So, no Undying is not OP, but it doesn't really matter when you have teammates who ignore totems that are in front of their faces. Solo players can only do so much to destroy totems if the rest are just rushing out gens.

  • Doctor and Hag for me.

Doctor because when Impossible Skill checks works, and they're stuck in T3 Madness just screaming over and over, it brings me a strange joy. And Hag when I use her Rusty Shackle and Disfigured Ear for some really dirty attacks. Trigger my trap without knowing, becoming deaf and not even realising I just teleported behind you until it's too late.

My god, yes please. 24 years later of seeing this film so many times, that woman still scares me. Imagine sending survivors to the Chokey. Now that would be fun!

  • I mean, have you seen some of these Exit gate spawns. Sometimes the remaining survivor has zero chance to even get close to a gate without being spotted so the hatch is their last chance survival.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

I can assure you that the killer doesn’t see it that way, and is pissed off that you’re wasting time that everyone could spend starting to find a new match.

This. I wouldn't mind if people did actually do it to give the killer extra BP, but they don't. Every single survivor who I face, who beat me in some way, will T-Bag till their legs snap, then when I do try to hit them, they just outright dodge and leave. So I don't accept the 'Oh I wanted to give extra BP' excuse anymore.

  • I try count the Auras that I see off in the distance first. Only 1 or 2? Someones either in a locker or nearby. So, I usually patrol around a little before leaving. Usually I'm right and there was someone hiding behind a rock, otherwise I'll just head off to the auras off in the distance.

  • I only heal a survivors if they remain under the hook crouched. That's usually a sign of 'Heal me please' so I oblige. When you see me doing a Gen, and the killer is clearly chasing someone else, please for the love of god, just get on the damn gen and help finish it, THEN we'll see to your healing. I swear, I've had so many survivors having some kind of seizure because the gen was almost done and I didn't take the 16 seconds to touch them because they magically forget that Ruin is still up and that 16 seconds of regression is a pain to get back. And if I see you Self-Care yourself once when I offer to help, you can be damn sure you're finishing what you started.

  • Meh, down to choice really. I always see survivors bringing in 4 med-kits or flashlights, or one of them holding a key. Personally, I could care less. They earned those items so let them use them I say. Even when they bring a key in at the last second, I could care less. If they're so desperate for the win, let them take it. I'm just here to enjoy my game.

  • I'll happily play more killer when survivors learn to take their wins with some more grace and don't make me wait 4 minutes while they observe the architecture of an exit gate before they decide they've seen enough.

  • I feel your pain. I just had a match where it was a Trapper who had DH active. I found the totem but got caught in a trap. There was only me and a Adam left. The Adam freed me from the trap RIGHT BESIDE DH, so I led the Trapper on a chase for a good 2 minutes, more than enough time to get that damn thing broken. I down, and what do I see? Adam Urban Evasioning 10 feet away. And he was a red rank. This proves more and more solo is awful and rank really does mean nothing.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 43
