As someone who has only touched Spirit twice in the years I've owned her, there is a level of skill that is needed. Despite what people think, you don't just pick up and get a 4k. But, at the same time, standing still at a pallet faking a phase to get a free down? That' doesn't need much skill.

I'm guessing the person you are talking about is some dbd streamer? What's the point of this thread?
He's a YT. He does the 'Toxic Nea' thing against new killers, or just killers in general, etc etc. He's entertaining to watch, but he often vanishes for months on end saying 'He's going to come back and be more consistent' but never does. Not ragging on him, I do enjoy his content but it comes to a point after half a year of excuses, it becomes very obvious why he suddenly 'returns' and vanishes again.

Camping is a double edged sword in this game. On the one hand, survivors can become super altruistic and divebomb for a save, only to trade places, but, they can also leave the survivor on hook and just do gens to punish the camping. And if the hooked survivor has Kindred, they all know you're there. Personally, I'd say unless there's evidence someone is lurking nearby, head to a gen and scout. The longer you wait, the more the gens are being done and the less pressure yo're leaving on the survivors.
-
Easiest way is to treasure hunt for a Flashlight then hunt for the Wraith. He may be invisible but you can still hear him breathing. Shine that beam on him and boom, he's now giving you free chase points so you're hopefully guaranteed a safety pip.
-
I play Solo and have no issue with this combo. The issue is there are far too many generator visioned survivors in this game that just ignore the existence of bones.
-
I used to use Gunslinger with Nurses, Dark Sense, Spies and Discord as a kind of 'Tracker' build. It worked... Sort of. I spent about 3 months wondering why Spies never seemed to work. Turns out I was a dumb dumb and didn't realise my gunshots scared off crows.
-
I feel your pain. I swear spawns are more broken than usual. I've had a few games tonight where I literally take a single step forward and the killer is having a staring contest with me. As for the tunneling, well, that I'd love to know myself. Seems it's on the rise and I don't understand why anymore. At this point, I've just come to accept it.
-
I don't bother using add-ons unless the killer really needs them, like Trappers bag for example. I mean, I don't really play to win so I don't bother wasting my add-ons for a match I'm pretty much going to lose anyways. I'll use them more if I'm trying to do a challenge for the rift and I need a little bit extra help.
-
It's 4 against 1. Most times if it's SWF they're showing off for their friends trying to compete for the biggest prick award. Solo are sort of ok, but you can get the ones who are sore winners and make sure you know they won. One day these exact same survivors will regret all their actions when there's even more shortage of killers because of how they treat them. I don't mind losing, but I would prefer to end a match on a happy note. Not watching them do the butt dance out the door at me.

Gotta love Solo Q. I had a Claudette who I nicknamed Twitchy since every single time the TR even played slightly, she was off like a shot. I mean, sure, TR means danger, but not when you can literally SEE the killer 30 feet off in the distance chasing someone. And to make it worse, I suddenly hear the pallet drop and she fast vaults a locker, without Q&Q with absolutly no killer in sight. And that's not the worst part either. This Claudette was rank 1. RANK 1. Sure, ranking is easy, etc, etc, but COME ON. Surely you know how to play at this point semi-decently if you're in the red ranks
-
One reason I hate going against them is for the complete campfest it turns into. I've just bought them today, and I always try walk a fair distance from a hook to use Victor again. Even if I'm back as Charlotte and someone unhooks behind me, I don't go rushing to redown the unhooked survivor. I'll try spot the unhooker and go for them instead. Camping with them is the most boring thing I could literally do with them. I mean, I've lost every match so far with them but honestly, I'm having so much fun with them, I could care less. I want them to get unhooked to keep the game going a bit longer just so I can have more fun using Victor.
-
It's pure garbage as a Hex. 16m areawide blocking of pallets, yet when you hit a survivor near a pallet, they pretty much gain that 16m in distance to another pallet that isn't blocked. It should either, as you say, boost it's AoE, or make it a cooldown perk like Surge. Right now, it's close to useless since survivors gain far too much distance to another loop to even be usable in chases.
-
It's defintly screwy at times. I've got a pretty stable connection myself, and when I've played killer today, I've had moments where I swing and it just seems to phase through them, or swing too early but somehow a breeze knocks them down. Then I've had matches as survivor where I can drop a pallet, and literally move away and suddenly I've fell over. I just wish for once this game would work decently.
-
Solo is indeed a nightmare, and just looking at some pre-match lobbies, I can tell just what sort of match it will turn into. It's not to say that every match is a nightmare. I've had some amazing teammates, and then the not so amazing. For me, I don't play to win on survivor or killer. I just want to have fun. Get chased, mess up because I ran into a wall and laugh about it. It is nice when you do win of course, but I learned over time to not let it bother me anymore when my teammates are purebred pedigree potatoes.
-
But how am I supposed to enjoy my Lobby/Generator simulator game when these people come at me with a knife and bug me? I demand nerfs!
Seriously though, I agree. I find some killers boring to go against for sure, but I'd never want a nerf against them. Honestly feels like if the majority of this games community had their own way, the game would either be a 1-sided murderfest or 1-sided escapefest. I like the fact that some killers can cut me down fast as hell. It keeps me on my toes and makes me need to get better
-
I was playing GF earlier and I was losing pretty badly. I'd brought a Mori for a challenge, and one of them let me down them in the Exit to Mori them. The other 3 photobombed me as I mori'd, but it made such a funny screenshot. We were all on PS4 and we all had a good laugh about it, and they even asked for the screenshot too. It was a pretty fun time, and a screenshot I now have set as my PC's wallpaper.
-
I thought I was going crazy or something. This happened to me earlier. I just jumped onto a gen, it was already going since someone was chased off, and suddenly, my Cheryl acted as though it blew up, but zero sound. At first I thought I'd missed an Overcharge or something but the gen didn't regress. It was bizzare.

I love when people fall for that strat.
Some survivors are really oblivious to what is happening.
I had this seen as myers and bubba, pretanding to be afk, but as long as I haven't seen a killer all match I make sure I get out asap, or if the team let's me, do bones.
It is hilarious to spectate and see how those oblivious survivors fall victim
I've seen a Oni do this in Midwitch. I found him just AFK inside the Bathroom breakable corridoor and was a little suspicious. Gens pop, the -other 3 were doing the usual t-bag routine, and suddenly all 3 were downed from nowhere. Turns out he blocked them into the corridoor and hadn't opened the top door. I was the only one to escape. Moral: Don't be clever when you think a killer is AFK.
-
You pretty much answered your own question. It's the same in any game, not just DbD. People will refuse to adapt and actually attempt to learn new things. They'd rather cling to what they know and scream OP and demand nerfs than just learn to play in another way. It's unfortunate but these days people don't seem to want to put any effort into games
-
Honestly would take this over the current requirement of DS. 5 games in a row I've now been tunnel visoned by the killer for no reason. 5 gens and targetting 1 single person then proceeding to camp. Like, seriously, something needs to be done to combat this crap. And before anyone gets on the high horse, yes, camping is a tactic. But at 5 gens? That's not a tactic.
-
Rank means nothing to me anymore. There was a time over 2 years ago it did sort of mean something. I was pretty proud to have hit Rank 1 as survivor for the first time when lobbies didn't consist of constant red ranks because I felt as though I'd proven I was good at the game. But now, it doesn't matter anymore. Ranks are so easy to gain, it just comes down to who plays the most. I can't pip killer anymore, so I'm in constant greens, but never see a green rank survivor in any match. And I'm pretty much red rank as survivor every day, even when reset hits, it takes 1 or 2 games to get back to red rank. There's just no effort needed anymore.

God I want cross-progression between PC and PlayStation so bad. Every time it comes up, the devs say they want to add Xbox and PlayStation to their cross-progress platforms, but it's something they're "working on" or "looking into." I guess Microsoft and Sony aren't the easiest to negotiate with or something, I dunno, but goddamn it sucks being the consumer here with no option but to wait and accept that there's a large possibility it will never happen.
Microsoft confirmed it's down to a developer to activate it, they just have to inform the respective platforms. Theres zero excuse for it anymore. Stadia got it, because IMO, they made a deal with them for it. I mean, Fortnite has Cross-Progression to every platform since it's just tied to your Epic Games account, and CoD has done the same via Activision account. So, DbD can do the exact same, since they also have the same system for Stadia.
-
It's been an issue for way more than a year. Where have you been? The matchmaking always takes far longer in evenings because there's far more survivors than killers at that time.
-
Why even bother playing the game if you plan to just stand there and expect kills to hop into your lap? I mean, really? You want to be rewarded for doing literally nothing? It's like a Survivor player saying 'Why did I get no points for just waiting for gens to be completed, I escaped'.
Just play the game, don't focus on constantly trying to win. Just have fun with it. Practice killers, learn their strengths and your own. Babysitting a survivor on hook only teaches you one thing: How to lose everytime.
-
I know your pain. I Tried to use Huntress for a week on PS4 for her Trophy for downs crossmap and it is painful, but, the only way you'll improve is just to keep practicing. It's painful and you will want to put your controller through the TV (I almost did but missed the TV luckily) but persevere and you'll get better.

Its happened before. Borderlands is more graphic than DbD gore/dismemberment/worse language/sexual themes and jokes...
Crossed over with fortnite
https://www.polygon.com/fortnite/2019/8/27/20834871/fortnite-borderlands-characters-claptrap
Borderlands 3 was placed into Fortnite because Borderlands 3 got the Epic Store 1 Year exclusive deal, so they placed it in as a Crossover (AKA Cash grab). As for Stranger Things, Demo was added for 'Stranger Things Day' and he only appears once per year in the store. Not only that but Fortnite has now got Marvel and DC into the game with alongside Star Wars with the Disney contract, so I very much doubt Fortnite would ever crossover with DbD.
-
Sounds interesting, but I'd have to say there would need to be a hard cap on the TR reduction because M&A exists, and this, combined with it would give literal 0 TR to some killers. But it's a good idea for sure.
-
I've been wondering this myself for a while, especially after the whole Halloween charm fiasco where Streamers were given a limited amount of codes for 1 use only and everyone was going crazy over it. The Dwightcrow charm I think it was? But, either way, charm or not, how many people were locked out of gaining that? Regardless of wether it be a charm or a single cosmetic item for a character, setting them for a set time of availablility with no option to buy them after the event is, in my eyes, making exclusives.

Eh, I'll just report it as griefing and see how it goes.
Thanks guys <3
Any form of griefing, regardless of how long it went on for, is reportable, so I'd advise you report it. People saying it has to happen all match, yeah, no, that's not how griefing works. Hopefully you won't encounter any more of these kinds of players.

One shouldn't be looping near a hooked survivor in the first place. They should do their best to lure the killer away.
This. Can't tell you how many times I've beaten a team because someone decides to try run me around the hook area leading to the others trying to rush in to save and swapping places with them. But then of course, YOU'RE the bad one for 'camping' the hook.

Tbh it's not even that powerful I just play the games as is, usually either they do so well that the key wasn't needed anyways at all and they don't use it because of that unless for a challenge; or they get wrecked long before they can even really use it anyways.
I almost never get key escapes. They are BS and OP when they DO happen, but I mean I've never had much of a problem with them....
Same here. The only time I ever really have anyone use a key to escape is when there's usually 1 or 2 gens left, and they've hidden away across the map sitting on hatch. At that point, I consider it a win either way. But most other times, they either all die before anyone can open hatch, or they just leave through the exit gate.
-
Yeah, I've had this since coming back to the game after a few weeks away. Honestly, if the survivors are that desperate for a win, let them have it. I'm not wasting a perk slot just to make them drop a key that they will just grab back anyway. I mean, I don't play to win anyway. I just wanna get decent points and have a fun match.

I have no idea if there's any special challenges with getting console manufacturers to agree to it or something, but if it's possible I honestly see no downside as long as the ability to close/hide it is there 👍️
I doubt there's any serious issue. Cod: MW and the new Cold War both have in-game chat to PC from console, so DbD are imo, making excuses to not add it.
-
Really? Are people this desperate for wins you'd pretty much bulldoze over console players for the sake of an easy match? What the hell happened to this game man.
-
I like to think I'm one of the nice ones. I've had many matches where 2 or 3 suddenly just DC because they're losing, and there's always that one survivor whos left either decides to give up or die trying to get some points. I usually let them do whatever they want. I refuse to take an easy win because others left them in the worst possible situation. The same goes for when I've bulldozed a team and the hatch has spawned. I'll always take them to it, or just let them go find it. I'd prefer people leave on a good note than go to their next match angry.

Depends who you ask honestly. I personally don't mind it, but a lot of killer players aren't fans because they have a rep of being bully squads.

What's a;
Smurf squad,
Swf
Ooo
Bm?
Smurfing is when a player or group of players intentionally lowers themselves to a low rank to basically bully a low skill player.
SWF is Survive With Friends
OoO is Object of Obsession (Laurie Strode perk)
And BM is bad manners.

Is it? I never got to play it even though I wanted to. :(
Pretty much, though in F13 it was pretty instant to lock the door like that, and Jason would have to basically smash it through. But it would be a good idea for DbD all the same.

Isn't this literally just the same door system that Friday the 13th used?

I really feel like there are NOT that many "smurf SWF squads" because if they were ruining people as hard as you claim they would be ranking up naturally and would need to go on massive depip sprees throwing equally as many games as they were winning as well. It's incredibly easy to rank up as a survivor.
Killer is the harder role, requires more practice, requires more mechanical skill, and requires more intelligent decision making than survivor. Naturally you are going to lose; and often, until you get an idea of what you are doing. Killer is still easier than it has ever been in the history of DBD right now(unless you were a nurse main). You didn't see seasoned killers all going on 100-200+ winstreaks at a time until recently.
You realise that even if someone was to pip up, they could just create a new account and repeat the smurfing right? I could go do it on PS4 and Xbox in 10 seconds just by making a new email, and since my main profile owns the game, that new account gets free access to the game. I don't deny killer is tougher, but the fact is, when you see a blatant Rank 16 with all T3 perks usually including the Metas, alongside 3 red ranks with the same, it's not really difficult to work out whats happening. How many new players do you know that run metas or understand how the meta even works?
-
It's just the mentality of people these days. Usually the younger generation these days. You see it on tons of games. Something doesn't go their way, and they DC or just leave the match. It's frustrating because not only does it screw over a killer on BP and Emblems, but it also screws over the remaining survivors. There has been times I've had 3 people DC because they got caught, and the last survivor just shuts down and accepts defeat. At that point, I refuse to kill them and let them either do gens/totems or go for hatch. People who DC need to realise that they're ruining someone elses experience over a stupid reason.
-
It is possible that your teammates could have hacked, but chat logs don't really prove much. The killer just accused you all with no real evidence to prove otherwise. As for TT, that does block gens, but if someone remains on a gen when the survivor is picked up, their gen doesn't block off.

They didnt do a single totem from looks of it there was at least 5 totems still on map and how do u explain running trough walls? Dont talk around the issue I know when players r really good and when they're obviously cheating
Like @Foohy said, show the clip then we can see for ourselves wether or not they are cheating.
And as for being able to target your totems, there are perks for that. Small Game gives a noise notification if they look at one in range. Detectives Hunch shows totem Auras when Gens are complete. Maps can reveal the totems auras. But unless you show some sort of video to show them going through walls, so far it just seems that you're being outplayed when they find your totems easily.

I don't. Everyone gets stomped learning a new PvP game that's been around a while, that's just how it is.
That's why I have never actually played Rainbow 6 Siege. Because by the time I looked at it and decided I might want to try it, I know by now I will just get smoked by people who know all the maps and I don't feel like investing the time to learn them.
And it's not like it's just killers. I sometimes get rank 15-20's tagging along as part of SWFs, or full lobbies of greens/purples when I am at rank 1.
There was a rank 15 Ash I had in my game the other day that didn't even know what to do when I jumped him as the pig, got 2 tapped, then he died to a double purple add-on head trap. I was thinking in-game "this Ash is really special" until I saw his rank at the endgame screen.
Theres a huge difference in being destroyed LEARNING, and being destroyed when they have ZERO chance to even learn anything.
Smurf squads won't teach a new player anything. They'd never catch them, they'd just be bullied to hell and back and that just demoralizes them. Imagine how someone who just installed the game and gets absolutly bulldozed over because of this feels? Would you want to continue after that? I wouldn't. I accept theres always learning in PvP games. Hell, I suck at CoD but I'm learning to get better, and that's because I don't get smurf squads constantly ######### me over.

Yeah. The Smurfing is out of control. Since I already got my Rank-1 goal out of the way, I've been kind of playing with learning different Killers to let my Rank drop a bit, and then switch back to Myers to hunt the middle Ranks for Smurfing squads. It only takes a couple of minutes to figure out if you in such a match. If not, I play the game softer and generally let people escape. I'm not there for them. If there are Red mixed in with lessers (or Purple who are just Red who let their Rank slip) I do my best to slaughter them all. I find hunting Smurfers to be rather gratifying. They drove my gal out of the game in the say way as they did your friend. So she lets me use her account where the Killer is not near so potent a Rank so I can hunt for them there too. I've caught several Bully Squads this way and have some hilarious videos as they quickly realize it isn't a Rank-14 they are trying to torment.
Good on you. People who smurf or just overall bully deserve what they get honestly. Those same people need to realise, if not for people like us willing to tolerate their bullshit, they wouldn't even get a damn match. When the game does eventually start to run low on killers, they can thank themselves for it, for running the decent folk out of the game.
-
Wait, are you saying they cheated because they found your Hex? I've literally destroyed Ruin 10 seconds into a game before, and even destroyed NOED instantly because the totem I was doing became the Hex. Am I cheating in this sense?
-
This issue is why a friend of mine quit 10 minutes after downloading the game. He downloaded it from the Xbox Gamepass so thankfully he didn't spend anything, but that's still not the point. I suggested Killer because it was more interactive and can be fun. He got a smurf squad SWF team, 1 Rank 16, the rest Rank 1. They even brought OoO for christ sake. Since he was new he didn't realise that they knew everything he did thanks to that single perk. And they knew it. They just taunted at him, flashlighted him constantly, and just overall BM. I don't even bother recommending this game to anyone anymore, hell, I deter them away from it. The fact that new players can be subject to toxic behaviour for peoples own amusement is very telling, especially when the devs allow this to happen.
-
Are we seriously still doing this? Can people stop looking for a reason to blame Cross-Play for everything? All consoles and PC are equal on camping, tunneling, etc. Stop looking for reasons to badmouth the other side. It's no wonder this community is constantly at each others throats.
