Gotta disagree that you need to be good to enjoy the game. I'm Rank 4 (Lower now thanks to reset) and I'm pure trash in a chase, but that doesn't stop me from having a laugh with it. I know I'm terrible and anytime I mess up during a chase I just laugh it off and try again. Too many people have the mindset that they have to be amazing to enjoy the game. Not true at all. You can have just as much fun playing for the heck of it. Even when I play killer and I'm not really doing good, I just tend to have a mess around with survivors, who usually return the favor and it becomes a fun match again. But, that's just my opinion and how I enjoy the game.

I love facing slinger as doing my best to make him miss with different ways to predict his thinking is one of the most fun things in DBD for me.
It's just about different taste in killers you face, if you hate facing him you'll keep on hate facing him. I for example can't stand or have almost any fun from chases when facing trapper and hag. I despise both but I play out my games against them and sometimes they are a few bright moments among all the despair I get from facing them.
Argument that you can't do anything vs him is so dumb, you can't beat any killer if they use their power 100% correctly without making any wrong prediction or mindgame. Bad killers plague DBD so finding godly slinger is as rare as finding godly nurse who is far more uncounterable then slinger is.
This. It makes me laugh when people talk about how unfun Deathslinger is. Personally I find him way more entertaining that the usual run around a wall 30 times and smack them with a pallet. Deathslinger makes me need to plan ahead more than a normal M1 killer. If I head that way, does he have a clear shot at me? If I vault here, can I manage to make distance without him spearing me back to him? There's so many tactics you can use against him, and it's far more fun than just mindless running and holding onto a gen.
-
I think it's a little late to do a mass rework on that size, but, I would prefer it to have more carnival type things. I mean, the only thing that makes me think Clown is that horrible fortune teller machine that plays the music. Beyond that, I'd just assume it was some kind of camp or something.
-
There's far too many maps to begin with so I'm personally glad there isn't yet another one to bloat the game more. I'd rather they just cut them down than add. I mean, even with the amount of maps in the game, how many of them do you really see on a regular basis? Whenever I play, I usually just get Coldwind or Red Forest. I rarely see any other maps these days.
-
Yeah, I don't understand whats going on anymore. I rarely use Pig and when I do, I always try get someone to do it, but they just crouch at me and then run away. And trying to do it to a Pig as survivor? I get smacked in the face for it. I miss the good ol' Booping days.
-
This isn't anything new which is sad to say. SWF have been doing this for a long time now, and it's actually very sad they even feel the need to do this just to get 'EZ Wins' or bully a lower skilled killer. There's not much you can do beyond just grit your teeth and power through, at least until MMR gets reactivated.
-
First time it happens I usually miss it because I never expect it. After that, I expect it when I see a regressing Gen. But when it's Doc and it goes backwards, it always throws me off and I end up missing. Throw on Unnerving and I'm a beacon for the killer at that point!
-
You must just be very unlucky because I've played enough killer games since Blight's release and never encountered this bug. I encountered it before Blight, but it seems to be gone, or extremely rare now.
-
I've barely seen the new survivor personally, and just from seeing the two comparisons, they really do not look anything alike. How are people seeing similarities here?
-
Because 9 times out of 10, they get a little too cocky because they pulled off a good play, and let the ego boost go to their head. It's pretty cute when they realise the second they screwed up. It's even better when you're Ghostface and you can return the favor!

So if a survivor is around your hook should the killer not camp you then? Everytime I see chicken scratches I camp cause some survivors make it way too easy to camp. Any other reason is literally a loss for gen pressure.
In that situation, no, that's fair because the survivor has left evidence of being there. I'm talking straight up face camping for no reason whatsoever.
-
The only time I ever suicide a hook is either when my game doesn't register me hitting my X button, or my controller just dies at the worst possible time, or the killer is clearly camping my hook. The second one, sure, I could sit there and wait, but I didn't buy the game to sit and stare at my TV with zero input. I'd rather just leave the game and go to my next one than sit for 2 minutes while 3 people edge their way to me and pretty much do nothing.
-
I mean, you made the choice to give up trying for hooks/sacrafices. It's up to a survivor if they want to keep or drop their items. Calling it BM over a item they took with them is a little weird.
-
It's always nice to see positive survivors for a change. I actually had this last night. I've been off-on trying to learn Nurse and decided to give it another go last night. Anyone who goes against me as Nurse will see instantly, you'll go free because I'm awful at the blinks. The team was a clear SWF and I thought I was in for hell, but no. I noticed they went from playing great to suddenly making basic mistakes trying to help me learn. I let them all go and one, who turns out to be a nurse main, even gave me tips and said I was really good, which was flattering since I know I wasn't great. But it's nice when survivors acknowledge that someone may be new to said killer and try to help you practice.
-
As people have said, if you focus only on one survivor for too long you're going to see that gen counter drop fast. I've been in matches where a killer has chased someone for the entire match and all 5 gens were done, only to be accused of gen rushing afterwards. If you refuse to move to another survivor, of course gens will be done. You can't expect them to just pop one gen and go have a cup of tea while you get your first hook.
-
Well, first, never think because you're losing that you're bad at the killer. Once you get that in your mind, it will effect your gameplay. I did it trying to learn Blight against red ranks and it made me miserable. Rather than trying to go for kills, focus more on learning the power and it's effects. Learn the ranges of them, how a survivor reacts, etc. You will lose a lot on the way, but each mistake is a lesson that you can take to the next match and improve on.
-
Not really. If a killer acts like a POS and just tunnels for no reason, or camps a hook, strategy or not, what do you think will happen when everyone gets to a gate? They're going to shake hands and leave? I personally won't T-Bag at a gate. Once it's open, and everyones pretty much safe, I'm gone. But act like a dick the entire match and I'll make you wait those entire 4 minutes. You ruin my experience, I'll return the favor.
-
I was literally thinking of this earlier today. Just imagining him in a little suit and top hat. I'd buy it!

Pallet saves currently aren't impaced by Enduring though, and I fail to see why it's any different if it's you dropping the pallet to save yourself, not someone dropping the pallet to save you.
Huh, learn something new everyday. I never knew Enduring doesn't reduce the stun from pallet saves. I don't normally use that perk so good to know for future reference.
-
That's a good question. I'd assume it would since you're technically still being hit with a pallet, rather than a DS or Flashlight. I haven't got access to the PTB but it'd be interesting to know.
-
Spirit is one killer I just give a big old nope to the second I realise it's her. I don't mind being mindgamed by killers because it's fun, but when someone just stands still and I have to make a 50/50 choice and be smacked for it, no thanks. I'd rather take Forever Freddy over Spirit anyday.
-
I had to take a break myself for a few weeks and I came back last week and I'm enjoying myself. I've stopped caring for getting kills as killer or even winning as survivor. I just tend to mess around with killer, try practice powers on my lesser used ones and mess with perks. Playing survivor is still stressful thanks to solo matchmaking, but I just use that for practice in my chases since I'm god awful, but slowly getting better. And now that we're getting a new killer, which I cannot wait to play, I'm feeling more motivated to play more.
-
I'd actually love to see something like this. Maybe create challenges for each killer that unlock a unique item to place in the basement. It could become a sort of trophy hall to show off to others what you've managed to do before you brutally murder them down there.
-
The only time I use a Flashlight is if I really try to make an attempt to save someone who was close by, and even then, my aiming is complete garbage. The only time I've ever managed to save someone was when they were literally 2 feet away from being hooked and the killer didn't look up in time. Beyond that, my inventory for all survivors have become a museum of various flashlights I either find in chests, or loot ninja from corpses.

I mean, the part where the woman has a chest cavity at all, and then she carries this thing around like a kangaroo, and then it looks like a sickly baby... the imagery definitely invokes the idea of mother and child, regardless of what the lore says. It's gross to look at, which I don't love, but I also feel like it's kind of uncomfortable to use visuals that make people think about child birth or fetuses or whatever when there's no artistic commentary about any of those ideas.
Like, there are probably people playing this game who've had a miscarriage before. Why not use a different visual design for the same mechanic?
Oh don't get me wrong, I totally see your point. When I first saw the killer I assumed mother and child. But, it's a horror game so of course certain characters are going to be distrubing. That's the whole point of horror. To shock and disgust. I mean, look at Dead Space 2 from way back. That game had Necromorphic babies in the Nursery section of the game. There was also the Questline in The Witcher 3 involving the miscaried child of the Baron's wife who became a Botchling and Geralt performs a rite to transform it. It's something done for the shock factor, not to offend someone in any way. And if someone was to be offended, then my only advice would be to maybe step away from the game.
-
It's insane what people will find these days to go up in arms about. It's a miniture gremlin that just crawled out of a womans breast for christ sake. If I saw that IRL the last thing I'd be concerned with was how I'd offend someone kicking it! It's trying to claw your damn eyes out!
-
I'm not 100% but I think it's essentially another form of Madness 3, where you cannot heal or interact as normal. There really should be some kind of decsription for these status effects imo.
-
This post just comes across to me that you're being triggered by survivors. I mean, cooldown on T-Bagging? Are you really that offended by a motion of up and down? Denying Gens for 180 seconds because it got done in your face? Seriously? You realise there is a challenge for doing that right? And you state survivors complain about everything a killer does? Do you not see the miltitude of Survivor Perk X must be nerfed? This constant Us VS them is the very reason this game will never be balanced because one side always has to trump the other over petty things. Maybe just play the game and have fun?
-
I don't see how kicking a demonic spawn child from a womans chest cavity is remotely offensive to anyone. If anyone is actually offended by this, then maybe the internet is not for them? There are just far too many snowflakes in the world these days that find anything offensive.
-
The bleedout timer is for 4 minutes. Unless the killer was abusing some kind of bug to stop that said timer, there's no reason to DC in this situation. Just wait the 4 minutes and the killer gets nothing for it.
-
You... Hit the wall? How is this latency or any other issue linked to it? You just misjudged the angle and hit the wall and got a pallet in return.
-
I honestly love this perk. I've actually created dramas from it unintentionally. Had a team where one of them brought a Key. I smacked said keyholder and a fellow teammate stole it from the ground. For some weird reason, the survivor who lost the key became very angry about this and did everything in their power to get the thief killed. Endgame chat was histerical as they all began arguing over this single key that was stolen.

I nearly always get accused of cheating when using Fast Wraith (His two add ons that increase speed while cloaked + Play with your Food)
Even when it's displayed right in the end screen some people can't be bothered to read.
I still get accused for cheating as Wraith with his add-ons to make the bell have no directional sound, and hide my TR for 6 seconds after uncloaking. According to the master survivors who lectured me on it, Wraith can't hide his TR when uncloaking despite there being a clear brown add-on that states the very obvious effect. But hey, I guess we're cheating Wraiths! 😂
-
You'd be surprised at how many high rank players still don't understand certain perks. I've been accused of this stuff myself. Red ranks accusing me of wallhacking when I was using Bitter Murmer. Or when my TR was hidden thanks to me using Billy's add-on I somehow cheated to make the chainsaw silent. And I wouldn't worry about false bans. There's no evidence against you for cheating
-
I always avoid grouping together. I play solo, and when the match starts and we're all clumped, 9/10 times, they all hop to a gen together. I'm like, yeah, I'm leaving because 10 seconds later they're all becoming injured and slugged. And then I end up dying on hook trying to save them. Fun times!
-
I love Demogorgons theme. Anytime I hear it start, I pray the match will last longer than 5 minutes. Second would have to be new Billy's. For some reason, it just gives me chills when I hear it.
-
I honestly despise Blendettes, not because of the play style, but the fact when I have one on my team, they ALWAYS leave you for dead on a hook and try stealth around for hatch. I had one do it today while I was killer. They left 3 teammates for dead on hooks in basement, which I made sure to walk to the oppisite end of the map so they had a chance to escape from it. They each died so I questioned what the hell was happening. Found hatch, closed it and headed to an exit gate. Blendette was there in the shadows, and the only thing that gave her away was the bright red Medkit that she was holding. I felt absolutly awful for the teammates that she left to die, though thankfully, they didn't hold it against me.

It's sad to see another DbD player leaving, but it's understandable. I recently came back to the game myself after leaving a few weeks back because of the issues, and I sort of regret doing it, but part of me feels I need to because of the amount of money I've put into the DLC and the work I've done on it. Latency is one of the biggest gripes I have with the game overall. I've had a similar experience with Huntress and Deathslinger. Huntress hatchets sometimes just phase right through survivors, others they just fly right on by but smack them anyway. Then there's the smacked directly, and the hit animates, the survivor even does his pain from being hit, but the game doesn't register it at all. Hopefully one day soon the game will be in a decent state, but here's hoping you find a new game to enjoy, and hope to one day see you return!
-
I think something like this would be pretty good in DbD. It would defintly bring a horror aspect back to the game, since many people are afraid of spiders in general, and I myself hate them. Just reading about how spiders would eat you in a cocoon had me getting chills, and that's what DbD needs. More scare factor. More moments of actual fear. I mean, like anything horror related we'd eventually get used to it, but it would still terrify me seeing mini spiders just running toward me for sure!
-
So, Solaire of Astora as Survivor? Please, for the love of god BHVR. Let me have a reason to use my Praise the Sun obsession! I need it in DbD!
-
How is it remotely strong? It shows Auras for a few seconds. This doesn't turn you into a hunting machine. It's not like that reveals a ton anyway. It shows where they are, and once those auras are gone, you need to figure out where they went or could be based on what you saw. But I mean, if BBQ is so strong, should we also remove Dark Sense that allows Survivors to see the killers aura when a Gen is done? Or maybe remove Kindred because we can see the killer around a hook?
-
Give it a month and it will rocket back up with the new killer. People usually leave after a few weeks of a major update because they've played it and got what they want from it and leave to wait for the next. It's normal for any online game. Doesn't mean it's dying.
-
@Justalittlepeeck said:
Not it didn't.
It just made dealing with Spirit laughably easy because survivors didn't have to do ANYTHING to deal with her because they literally knew 100% of the time where she was, thus making Spirit the only one having to actually "Read" or "guess" what her opponent does. Moreover, this bug didn't change the "headphones for win" Spirits, but literally killed any mindgaming as Spirit because survivors had too much info about her.
I suppose that's fine because as long as you aren't the one suffering, it's all good.
So what you're basically saying is: As long as a surviovor has to READ or GUESS wether she's actually phasing, or where she is, thats perfectly fine? But Spirit having some sort of hint to her location during said phasing is a no-no? Gotcha.
-
As a killer who sees this constantly, why do you feel the need to wait for the killer? Why can't you just leave and let us all move on to the next game? I really don't see this huge need for the survivors to need their hand held for 4 minutes to leave. Especially when a killer just got bulldozed over and really doesn't want to have people rub it in further.
-
I don't blame the OP for wanting to leave the game. I personally did a couple weeks ago, though decided to come back after the recent 'fix' for FPS for PS4, and that a friend of mine was returning too. The level of toxicity and chidishness in this game is so far out there. Someone who feels the need to go out of their way to rub in a victory, or try make someone feel bad don't deserve to even play any game imo. There is ZERO reason to make anyone feel miserable. Games are an escape for people. We play them for fun, not to be treat like a piece of crap on the street. Anytime I see a killer struggle or get constant t-bagged by survivors, and they're on PS4, I'll always send them a GG and compliment them for their game. End of the day, that one single person just gave you a game to play and I'd rather they leave the match happy than miserable because people have to be sore winners.
@Spaceman_Spiff said:
Sounds like you need to grow the fxck up and quit acting like a spoiled little brat 😂 gg ez scrub. Maybe get better at the game
Seems you need to grow up insulting someone on the internet. Doesn't make you big or clever friend. There's no need to be a dick toward someone for their opinion and reasoning for leaving the game.
-
I've noticed that during the day, killers are far more chilled and survivors are the same. The game is actually enjoyable. I think more killers play earlier to get some actual enjoyment, because once that sun drops, the sweatfest begins and killers begin to cower in fear again.
-
I always run kindred, so I can see when a killer is camping/proxy, or show when I am. I will always try rescue them regardless because, the end of the day, that survivor isn't getting an opportunity to play the game they paid for. How is it fun for either person, survivor and killer, to sit staring at each other for 2 minutes after waiting for god knows how long to play. I'd rather try rescue that survivor and let them actually get some sort of interaction from the game than let them waste their time queuing for a lobby to be facecamped back to it, even if I die for it.
-
Honestly, agree with everything he has said. He's so on the nail with it. DbD feels like it's trying to follow these 'trends' that other dev companies have gone down and it's now finally coming back to bite them hard. I've left the game completely now after my 2 years of playing. I'm a PS4 player, and I tolerated the many bugs and issues for too long. The fact the FPS issue is still going was bad enough, but to then encounter a hacker in my game who abused pallets (Dropping them while down to stop me), then speeding away while I was stunned, to only follow with me being DC'ed from my own match to receive a 72 hour ban, despite the fact I never DC in my matches. That was the straw that broke the camels back. In my eyes, the devs have lost sight of what made this game amazing. I'll always hold DbD close to my heart, because I've loved the gameplay and fun I've had. I've made some fantastic friends from playing matches and I'll always treasure those memories, but enough is enough for me. I'll still stick around the forums and hold out the tiniest spark of hope things might get better, but I won't hold my breath anymore.

@SleepyWillo said:
Just a heads up - FPS issues on certain consoles (mainly PS4) are the worst they've been in a long time. A lot of struggle phase mashes arent being counted. This results in what looks like suicide.
If its first hook suicide then its possibly just people eager to get onto a new challenge, DC penalty is back or people trying to leave fast to enter a streamer code before it is used by 10 other people trying to DC or kill themselves...
Yep, I can confirm I have died mid-struggle thanks to the FPS drops when someone was close to get me off. They most likely think I did it on purpose, but anyone that sees me die in game randomly during struggle, that's why!
-
Because I'm a loot goblin and I demand to know what goodies you're hiding away down there! You won't keep me out forever... I'll be back stronger than before!
