Or is the deathslinger WAY to forgiving for when he makes a mistake? Like everytime ive played against him they always tunnel and camp a couple survivors and we can't really do anything since even if he messes up, fails a mind game, misses all his hits, in the end he instantly gets free hits because his rifle mixed with his unbreakable chain is just ridiculous
Yes, it's just you. He's incredibly weak.

Oh. Right. The other 90% who keep prattling about HIGH LEVEL GAMEPLAY when that's not what this is about.
There are always going to be players who are bad at a killer. I never said that you'll be a GOD with him after a few rounds.
I simply stated that he is very easy to pick up and learn. I said that in the ranks you want to learn a killer, once you get the basics, you will destroy people.
I also made a point of saying that as the "centre of balance" that every other killer is too weak. The "centre of balance" is in the community's TOP 3 for power. Out of 18.
This entire series is about underlying problems, that are tied to a specific killer. This has never been about the killer themselves and if people read it that way, this would be a happier thread.
But no, can't say anything negative about Hillbilly.
Let me ask you this, if I replaced the names of characters and powers with thr numbers of their release (Hillbilly = No. 3, Nurse = No. 4, Spirit = No. 8) you think people would have had the same reaction? You think that they would have said the same points trying to refute a different argument, one that wasn't presented? And if yes, doesn't that show a giant, glaring double standard within the community?
Because there is nothing negative to say about Hillbilly. Nurse changes I was on board with, but Hillbilly is perfectly fine. Your thread is baity as all hell. You come in here with a baity title like that, and expect what reaction exactly? The problem isn't Billy. It's low tier killers.
And yes - if they knew No. 3 was Hillbilly, they would have the same reaction. Don't assume people are stupid.
Your entire argument is based on a broken logic. As I've said, there's a reason everyone is calling you out - and the reason is (wait for it, cause this will blow you're mind)...this thread is bait.

I disagree. Especially when this ENTIRE TIME I have said "compared to the top ranked killers".
Something that literally everyone who comments like you seem to forget, overlook or ignore
You can disagree all you want, really; but it literally breaks your narrative that the skill floor is that terribly low, when it's proven to not be true because there are bad Hillbilly players. If the skill floor was that low, he'd be pick up and play. As it happens, it's not, and there are people who can't play Hillbilly. So again, all due respect, you are incorrect, and the 90% of people in this thread telling you the same thing are right.

Floor. Skill floor.
If he had such a low skill floor, then there would be no bad Hillbilly players.
That kind of kills your whole narrative.

Playing Billy is actually quite difficult against players who know what they’re doing. If Billy is easy mode then don’t you think that even a mediocre Billy would dominate good survivors?
I had actually mentioned that to Clicky in another thread. I even invited them to share some footage of EZ mode Billy, since EZ mode means anyone can do it. They dodged it, and nothing ever came of that...well, I mean, something did, but nothing in the conversation.

Strictly speaking, there's not a lot you can do in games, or entertainment as a whole that hasn't already been done.

You mean the same people that say the game is literally impossible to win without Ruin, that you NEED to camp and tunnel to win and that shack is too strong a god loop?
Nobody said it's impossible to win without ruin. Actually, what people say is, without ruin, we can't be bothered to play nice anymore. But god forbid we slug! Good old ClickyClicky will be in here demanding that slugging everyone be bannable!
It actually never gets old. It's like you're trolling your own self at this point. Some killers are better than others, some need to be a bit more campy and tunnely, but they are both legit strategies. Get better at looping and maybe you won't get caught? Oh wait, no, you'd just rather have it nerfed because improving is not part of your agenda.
You slay me, lol
Are you sure you want to go down this road with me again? It's just going to be another dead end for you. Like most of your ridiculous complaints.

Lol
One has a massive speed penalty and a huge tantrum if he hits something. The other doesn’t.
Billys always get more chainsaw hits than leatherfaces because its an easier power to use.
At this point, how come you don't just learn to outplay a Hillbilly instead of demanding nerfs? lol
Honestly, you've built yourself a reputation here. Every time somebody sees you complain about things that are completely fine, they all say the same thing. "Oh, it's you". Perhaps you should ask yourself why nobody takes you seriously, and remedy that; cause you complain about the most outlandish stuff.
"I can't beat a Hillbilly, he takes no skill and has map pressure!"
"NERF noed because destroying totems is too difficult!"
"Nerf Freddy cause he has map pressure and he's boring!"
Like, legit dude, knock it off. Nobody is having it from you anymore.

Err purples are pretty strong at 20% increased duration... if the yellow/green flashlight had like 10% extra duration then they’re probably in an ok spot.
And? They are supposed to be limited, clutch use. They aren't supposed to be something you can blind the killer with at every pallet. Pick your battles.

The first half is true but last half isn’t true against a good killer... the duration is too short without add-ons.
I mean, any blind can be weak against a seasoned killer. It's called using your ears. They can hear you breath.
Don't go for cocky plays and you'll be fine.

Really? When I play survivor, I run a yellow flashlight, no addons, and manage to use it pretty well.
What's bad about them?

The DC penalties have barely been out a week. Like, give them a chance to have an effect. I've personally seen a lot less DC's as killer, and the number of people killing themselves on hook hasn't really gone up, at least at red ranks. People seem to be going in for the BP and challenges these days, which honestly is a pretty healthy attitude.
I really think the people so up in arms about this are the ones who chronically DC'd, and tried to DC to give their teammate the hatch all the time etc.

mori spam doesn't hold the game hostage anymore. Also it's a chore for players to record and upload lengthy large videos to youtube and then submit a report everytime.
Nobody said it happens every game but it happens and is glossed over.
My username is ironic, I don't use flashlights, I never "clicky clicky". We're not talking about eliminating a good survivor or a toxic player (it's a bad strat to even waste so much time chasing them) we're talking about people singling others out to ruin the game for them just because they played well in a previous game. Not to mention all the survivors that work with killers, sandbag etc etc the community is a mess and there hasn't even been any attempts to clean it up. It's not a strategy at all it's trolling for the sake of it.
It's a chore? Video cards have very size efficient built in video encoders that can produce very small file sized video files that anyone with a 21st century connection can upload in a few minutes. Same with consoles. You're still inferring that it happens so, so often. If it does, why aren't more killers getting banned? It's not glossed over. It's literally bannable with video evidence. Glossing over a complaint without video evidence is not glossing over. It's called innocent until proven guilty. Welcome to the real world.
I wasn't referencing your username. I was referencing a very real thing that happens in game. Don't flatter yourself. Your issues sounds like a personal issue. Stop taking it personally when someone camps you, or tunnels you. It's a video game, and it is a strategy.

Here we go again.
Don't play innocent with it I clearly said mori spam. Their goal isn't to eliminate you, it's just to ruin the game for you. Tbagging until bleed out with ghostface, mori spamming, camping and hitting on hook. I've seen it all.
So defensive. You're inferring that mori spam (which is bannable) happens every other game. With all the tools built right into consoles and graphics cards these days to record highlights etc, it's hard to believe so many killers get away with it. You grossly exaggerate all of your claims, on literally every topic. Be realistic, dude.
If I have played you before, and I know you like to be clicky clicky with your flashlight, or abuse god windows, or in any way be an annoyance or problem for me that could skew the game etc, I am going to eliminate you ASAP. Even if that means tunneling you and slugging you with knockout, thana and sloppy butcher, and leaving you to bleed out. OR using you as bait with nurses calling. It's called strategy.
If I were you, I'd go back to not responding to me again.

I would bet Apex doesn't have the community DBD does either.
Outplay a killer in one game? get ready for when they see you a few games later and tunnel and mori spam you for 5 minutes, which is apparently all good fun and by the rules according to the developers.
I mean, if you know someone could be a problem late game, it makes sense to eliminate them ASAP early game.

Im not saying its overpowered, Im saying that it could be changed so that campers and bad players cant benefit from it. Its not going to change anything for people who dont use it as a crutch.
Again - destroy totems. That's literally all you have to do. I escape 8/10 games as survivor and always tend to either destroy all 5 totems, or find destroyed ones and destroy the remaining ones. NOED doesn't need rebalancing, it's already balanced, and I'm pretty sure survivors can at least count to 5. Nothing needs to be done to it; and campers are punished as it is. They get less points overall; even still, camping is a legitimate playstyle.
-
@Archimedes5000 said:

Putting DS aside, why are you opposed to having NOED work only on people you previoisly hooked? Any player can afford to get 3 or 4 BBQ stacks even in a losing game, so it wouldnt affect NOED for them. The only people who would lose somerhing here would be complete noobs and hard campers/tunnelers.
I personally don't use NOED. I'm just tired overall of seeing killer things that are already balanced get nerfed because the people asking for nerfs don't know what balance is, and just want easy games. It's the principle of the matter.
It's perfectly balanced, it's high risk, high reward, and it's existence is controlled by the other team. It's not even close to overpowered. It's not even in the same universe.

Ikr? The option to attempt to escape and to not press the button to struggle is there.
Suiciding on hook is a strategy to help your last teammate have a chance at the hatch.
And if people don't want to play a certain trial due to their idiotic teammates doing nothing or the killer being a douchebag then they have the right to leave

Oh, but it is DS for killers.
Both of them reward failure, and DS also can be countered.
By slugging the person for 60 seconds, leaving them alone for 60 seconds or tunnel on purpose and eat the DS early.
Its just as absurd and wastes you just as much time and potential pressure as searching for all 5 dull totems or having to use perks and red items just for that purpose.
Your logic is broken. There are situations where DS can never be avoided. NOED can always be avoided. End of discussion. NOED is fine.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1094555#Comment_1094555
I dont think its fair compared to, for example, Devour Hope. There is no hint that killer has NOED, you need to cleanse all 5 dull totems to prevent it from activating, it requires no tokens from the killer or any other type of effort, you can literally camp 1 person all the game and you still get to use NOED.
There's no hint? Killer movement speed says hello. It's a HUGE tell.

But thats 5 times more totems than for example Devour Hope that has similiar effect. And NOED doesnt even require you to collect any tokens. NOED is clearly unbalanced compared to other Hexes, thats why Totems will never get buffed at this rate.
Except, there's a trade off. Devour is active all game and a killer knows it's location. Normal totems, not so much. NOED isn't active until the end, and the killer isn't patrolling dull totems to stop you from destroying them. So you're not in any immediate danger. Again, destroy totems.

Could still use a totem counter for survivors. Or a perk similar to TotH that has a totem counter built in. Solo survivors have a much harder time with ensuring totems have been done. A simple perk, or addon to an existing perk, would do wonders. Would truly be no Avenue of complaint then.
You really need someone in addition to what you already have...to help you count to 5?
-
@Nos37 said:
What they ought to do is only punish Survivors with a DC penalty if they disconnect/crash within a reasonable timeframe of being found, injured, downed, hooked, denied the hatch, or were slugged at the time.
No. That would be too easily abusable.
In a game like this, with a community like this, this is the most optimal solution. Unfortunately, there will be collateral damage, but it will all work out in the end, and it's a necessary evil. The people who DC just to DC FAR, FAR outweigh, like 95:5, the people who it happens to because of bugs.

I mean after reading, I don't really disagree. I just think it would be time better spent by the killer and survivor by the killer effectively ending the game instead of the bleeding out unless they are hiding.
I mean, yeah. Of course. You're right in that it's not very productive. I never said it was productive. I just, you know, can't agree that something in the game that isn't against the rules is toxic, lol

It is toxic, I don't want to bleed out when there is no one else to pick me up. When everyone is on the ground bleeding out there is literally no more pressure to be applied. I would understand if some dick is crawling to the edge of the map where there are no hooks cause that's just irritating, but when there is a hook nearby and the killer is refusing to hook me even though I'm crawling towards it is toxicity.
What else would it be? I clearly would want the match to end, there is no excuse such as "applying pressure", and I'm not being a dick and crawling to the edge of the map to try and hold the game hostage by refusing to get hooked.
Stuff like that just breeds the exact behavior that killers complain about.
*Tunnels straight off the hook* *Runs into DS* *Complains about it and calls the survivor braindead for having a "crutch" perk*
Lets not forget about the killers rulebook for survivors.
If you run DS, BT, Sprint Burst, DH, Adrenaline, Unbreakable that's toxic and you are braindead for running crutch perks you no skill loser.
If you loop me and then pallet drop that's toxic.
If you don't run into my arms 10 seconds after the match starts, you are an immersive simp.
I reserve the right to complete happiness and if you go for unhooks that's toxicity.
You are toxic for playing the game and doing generators. (Most Important rule)
It's not toxic. It's a tactic the devs have given killers. You bleed out, so it's not taking the game hostage.
It can annoy you, you can not like it, you can not find it fun; but it's a legitimate play style within the game, and it's not against the rules. Therefore, not toxic. That's really all there is to say. The real toxicity comes from the people who are all "I don't like this thing, so it's toxic". That's not how it works.
That's like saying pallet loops are toxic. Spoiler: They aren't. And neither is slugging. Even if you just let them bleed out.

Specifically, the killer leaves everyone on the ground and lets them all bleed out. It isn't a pressure tactic as they haven't hooked anyone. Stop being on a high horse and try to understand what OP is saying.
Which still isn't toxic. It's not against any rules other than the imaginary survivor rules for killers.
