The difference is, MoM in it's original state was actually OP.
Ruin was not.

Things like exploits when they are in the game, are toxic. Period.
Don't use absolutes recklessly like that.
That's a strawman argument and you know it. It's CLEAR the person meant things INTENDED to be in the game. Nobody needed you to tell us "using exploits is toxic". It's common knowledge. Welcome to forever ago.

Imagine thinking that escaping as survivor is hard in any way...you have endless ways to accomplish this. Including KEYS, and a perk that tells you where the hatch is.
-
Huntress is the better killer. Period.

But he’s so boring! They need to give him something to make him a little more fun to play or play against. I don’t know what, maybe make him tap dance instead of walk?
I have plenty of fun playing Freddy.

Balanced Landing got changed because BHVR couldn't fix the maps. Ruin literally got changed because of baby survivors.
Huge ######### difference.
There's really no way anyone can combat this. Even the patch notes literally said it was for this reason, lol

@Nicholas said:
Thanks for the info, I'll just tell him it's better to get Freddy to 40 since he could be waiting months for BW.
They should level up Freddy anyway. He's one of the best killers in the game! :)
-
I mean, does anyone else find it broken if the survivors make a huge mistake or bad play, that allows the killer to end the game extremely fast, the killer gets punished LITERALLY because the game ended too quickly?
-
You can not punish people for playing with their friends. They are better ways to do this.
-
Keys and mori's are going to be on most peoples list; and I think they are fine in their current behavior. They just need to be made more rare. Even then, mori's are rarely used so it's kind of a baseless complaint; especially with ranks soon meaning nothing, meaning if you get mori'd, you lose nothing you didn't already have.
No, the only things that need nerfing are certain maps (in size, like Mothers Dwelling, Rotten Fields etc), and I would say Decisive Strike. It needs to have conditions applied to it to make it anti tunnel only instead of a magic superman perk. On the killer side, everything is fine except for Billy's charge addons. They should simply be made so they can't stack.

Have you ever played against Billy? All they do is use his chainsaw since it’s so easy with add ons.
I think it's established since juking a Hillbilly is so hard for you (you've actually alluded to this yourself), that it's probably you who hasn't played against a lot of Hillbilly's. Just saying.
In any case, all that needs to be done to Hillbilly is:
Base kit: Nothing. His base kit is fine and perfectly balanced.
Addons:
Charge addons: Turn the Carb Tuning Guide to an Ultra Rare, Primer Bulb to Rare, and Spark Plug to an Uncommon. ALSO make it so they can't stack.
As for other addons, I would turn Doom Engravings to an Ultra Rare, Death Engravings to a Very Rare etc. I might even turn Speed Limiter to Common.
His turning addons are fine as is, as they have huge downsides. Do that, and anyone who complains after that is a pleb.

I bet Oni, since he's a weaker version of Billy. Seems all the 1-Hitters or 'hard to go against' seem to be hitting the chopping block lately. These newbies need to actually take some time to learn strategies against killers before demanding the nerf hammer. Of course, in this day and age, nobody seems to want to learn anything in a game. Makes you wonder why most games are pay to win these days 🤔
No no, not "hard" to go against. "Not fun". lol

Monstrous Shrine OP pls nerf.

His power and design don't even make sense, how does a chainsaw generate enough force to propel you forward, does it run on quantum energy or something? Almost all the rank 1s I've seen thus far this season have just spammed hillbilly, seems to be a power decrepancy between him and other killers to me.
Are you talking about things making sense in a game like Dead by Daylight?
Does it make sense that killers can't reach over a pallet and rip survivors heads off as they stand there waiting to vault, or as they tea bag?
Does it make sense that survivors of all different non-medical backgrounds can all of a sudden treat a wound created through the shoulder with a meathook in 10 seconds?
Does it make sense that survivors can vault something over, and over, and over?
Does it make sense that 4 people can repair a mechanical engine at the same time, and somehow have it happen faster despite repairing an intricate engine being pretty much a one person job, and usually it would be slower with more people in the way?
Does it make sense that survivors don't fall to the ground in one hit after being hit with machetes, axes, sledge hammers etc?
Does it make sense that carrying a map can allow you to see things through walls?
I could go on and on. Just an example of how ridiculously poor your rhetoric is.

What i call toxic IN MY OPINION ( so your sensible hillbilly mind will not be offended) is hard tunneling, face camping, slugging, tryhard for the 4k
Okay, so no actual retort to what I said.
That's what I thought. You have nothing. Take a knee, bud.
(Also, toxic is not opinion based. Anything within the rules of the game is not toxic, period.)
Back away slowly. You don't want to get into this with me. You'll lose a good 10 years off your lifespan trying to debate with me. The only thing it will damage is your ego.

I just noticed nobody had the balls to reply to this. Imagine breaking someones bubble THAT hard in one sentence. OOF.
To add to it - survivors now want Hillbilly nerfed because they can't use A and D to dodge his chainsaw. "Oh he's so OP!!"

I mean, I actually am a survivor main. Fortunately, that hasn't stopped me from being a one sided survivor main bot, lol

Actually, yes. It's actually 100% true.
Even the devs have said Billy is their ideal balanced killer. The majority of the community agrees Billy's base kit is perfectly balanced.
So the only thing "not remotely true" is what you're saying. If you think he's OP, you're just a bad survivor.
-
@Venzhas said:
To me its still the most low skills killer to play. And mostly the most toxic one, if you see that the killer is russian, its like 95% chances it will be a P3 billy. True story x)
How is Hillbilly toxic?
Also, if he was so "low skill", there wouldn't be any bad Hillbilly players. As it happens, there are some pretty bad Billy players.
See? I just destroyed your rhetoric. BOOM.
-
Camping is a legitimate strategy.
@Gmoose17 said:
Why is this still a thing? Every other game of survivor is just a face camping killer. Can’t we atleast make it to where killers can’t grab you off the hook? It’s not like getting hit through pallets and having awful hit boxes aren’t bad enough. But face camping could atleast be nerfed to where you can’t grab off hook. It’s just not fun... isn’t that the whole point of the game?
You talk about fun. Is it fun for generators to go so fast that the killer doesn't have time to do anything? Does the killer not have fun camping somebody?
Oh wait. Only your fun matters. Typical brown rank survivor main.
-
@NursesBootie said:
Yeah he got no cooldown on his chainsaw so he can punish me when i'm outpositioned reeeeeeeee.
He has a cooldown.
Only bad survivors want Hillbilly nerfed. If you want him nerfed, you are bad at the game.

Haddonfield needs breakable fences. So tired of getting trapped by a mile long fence
Haddonwalls.
-
Good addition. Though, it makes a lot more unsafe loops that have to be mind gamed. I imagine survivors will whine to no end about that.
-
Imagine putting Plague and Deathslinger above Huntress and Oni.
-
It doesn't need fixing. It's a perfectly fine tactic. If the killer thinks they can get it, they can try and get it. If you don't like it, run Unbreakable or No Mither. Otherwise quit whining.
-
You think this is bad? Remember the nightmare that was Dark Sense challenge from the last tome? It will be worse when the Dwight tome happens...and you have to complete 4 generators with prove thyself/leader in one trial.

Again wrong wrong wrong. We now call this ClickyClicky instead of wrong.
LF doesn't have a huge cooldown either, they both lose movement speed while charging the chainsaw and they both are "stunned" while hitting an object which is not a survivor.
Do I have to pull out the addons again? Or a billy guide or idk what do you need? Maybe you play the game for a bit actually so you learn what is in it and so on?
In terms of playing the game...about 5 days ago I was having this same conversation with him. He went on and on about how Hillbilly was "EZ mode". Long story short, I asked him to kindly, with the tools of modern video cards that have capture hardware built right into them, record himself being this EZ mode Billy at red ranks. No response. Next thing I know, well, let's just say my forum account is limited because apparently asking for proof of something is harassment.
Also - as per the rules, this post breaks none of them.
-
It's a necessary evil, man. They need to stick to this system.

He's talking about the forums.
Like mine.
It's when someone allegedly does something wrong. No matter how questionable the judgment call may have been, the mod who reviews the situation may makes said judgement call to put you in jail, thus imposing limits on your account.
-
The devs have never been against camping. They have always maintained that it's a legitimate playstyle. Sometimes, camping is fun for the killer, and is a perfectly viable strategy, whether the survivors enjoy it or not.

That's what the PTB is for. Testing a killers strength in the most dire circumstances. Bullying is just a term used to describe making cocky plays with OP survivor perks/items etc.

So how do you know I don't know how to properly Loop or deny him his power? Who says I'm scared to be chased by The Hillbilly? Don't waste my time with your assumptions.
Because you're implying he's even the least bit OP. Kind of speaks volumes for itself there, bud.
-
@Nicholas said:
It's not about getting downed, it's about him being able to cover the entire map in a matter of seconds indiscriminately. Maybe if he had a small cool down on his chainsaw, he would have to make some decisions about the map vs downing. Without a cool down, he has unlimited discretion and can basically teleport across the map faster than anyone.
Or maybe, just maybe, if you learned how to properly loop, and deny him of his power, you wouldn't be so scared to be chased by a Billy.

Im rank 1 you literally shout rank 20 things. You can literally avoid the instadown if you're competent enough to run a jungle gym for 1 minute. If he's at tier 1 you can just run him around so easily all game with little to no hassle, perks aren't being factored in, Deathslingers add-ons are pretty decent soooo
You're not rank 1. Rank 1's don't believe a killer is "one of the better killers" when he's only a worse huntress, or better, ranged legion.
Give up now. This will only end badly for your ego.

Okay an M1 killer is better than someone who can actually counter a lot of loops and make windows useless...
That M1 killer has an instadown, no terror radius at tier 1, better addons, and better perk synergy. Keep trying, rank 20.

Not really. He's better than most killers in the roster rn and the fact he literally doesn't have to worry about 90% of mistakes he makes yeah that makes him easy and good. He's not OP by any means but he doesn't have that much counter play if the deathslinger can actually aim his shots.

Ive been playing for years and yes hes better than most killers I think all you play is killer though. He's better than pig, clown, legion, (at times) trapper, cannibal, and (sometimes) plague. He doesn't have to worry about any short loops since you can always get a hit off unless you cant aim or get dedi'd, you can literally ignore your own mistakes since any distance the survivor makes can be negated, and he can pull you away from exhaustion perks so idk he seems PRETTY damn good.
You make this too easy.

I don't think he is that bad at all. I was having a lot of success with him on the PTB and he is weak at pallet loops but hella strong at windows, ledges, and other areas not a lot of killers can do much on. His gun injures, he can control when he is stunned unlike other killers, can reload without travel unlike plague/huntress etc....
Still, you are doing the same thing OP did. Jumping to conclusions prematurely.
I've played about 14 hours of the PTB. Bullying this killer. It's not a "jumping to conclusion" situation. It's based purely off experience.
He needs a buff. He's only really good on his own map, and maybe (surprisingly) Haddonfield. Other than that, he's weak to pallets...like...good luck with him on Blood Lodge or Wreckers yard. OOF.

So you're telling me clown, pig, and legion are all better than death slinger?
Kindly point out where I said that? I'm unsure if you actually know what you're saying, or how silly you're making yourself look.
He's got garbage addons, he's useless in a pallet loop, and he can be easily bullied. He's in the bottom half of killers. Not even near "one of the best in the game".
You say he's better than Pig, Clown, Legion, Trapper, Cannibal and Plague. All of which are EASILY some of the most underpowered killers in the game that need buffs. "one of the best" you say...oof; and even then, TRAPPER and Pig, while they don't have range, their power is not useless from the other side of a pallet like Deathslingers. I'm sorry - you are flat our wrong. You have rank 20 written all over you.
I mostly play survivor. almost 4000 hours in game, most of it survivor. Doesn't stop me from having sense.
