I rather enjoy The Game...on both sides.
-
Edgar, Pug, Umbra, Otz
Scott can be good too. I just generally don't enjoy watching Oni. Oni is like golf. More fun to play than to watch. Ralph is good too.
Others...eh. Nothing against them, but there comes a point when most survivor streamers are carbon copies of each other, and everyone who's not seems like a BHVR shill.
-
You'll find at red ranks, people will DC if they are the first person chased by the killer in a trial. Or, people will DC as soon as they get hit/downed/hooked. DC's are literally more common and Decisive Strike.
-
Survivor mains will all tell you that they play both sides. The issue is, then they say "Hillbilly is overpowered".

I had multiple matches yesterday where killer dc‘d where I tried to get one of the escape challenges (Get 4 escapes, David escape and even No mither escape)
Not one time did i get the challenge done.
The matchmaking was awful though, can’t really blame the killers. And it would have felt somehow cheap if I got the challenge for this. But iirc you get the escape dailys this way?
Yes, dailies you definitely get. Given the frequency of DC's on both sides, these "escape" and "sacrifice/kill" challenges should be changed. They should count DC's.
-
I think Freddy's nerfs were justified. Forever Freddy was silly. He's still crazy strong, just not as boring now.
Doc? nah, he won't get nerfed. As others have said, he's in a great spot.
-
That's weird...cause in level 1 of the current tome, I got an escape for the escape 2 trials bit when the killer DC'd. I could be mistaken. Either way - both should count towards the challenge, cause that's not very fair for anyone.
-
@kreeper124 said:
I don't believe that a killer DCing counts as an escape in the archives, so it goes both ways. Though it should count for both sides imo
They get escape points for it, and it counts as the escape on the scoreboard.
I swear I've had a killer DC count as an escape for a challenge. Can anyone confirm this? Either way, survivors are rewarded when a killer DC's.
-
Yes. It's part of my meta build since ruin was nerfed. Sloppy, Thana, Knockout, BBQ. Sometimes I swap BBQ with Pop or Corrupt.

That’s unimportant.
Red Dead Redemption for example runs smoothly on console
with better graphics than better computers and they have almost one year of the pc version.
I mean, it is important. Even The Evil Within had to run at 640p on the Xbox One, lol
And "smoothly" is subjective. 30fps (and sometimes dipping below it) is not considered "smooth" by, I would say, the majority; and RDR2 on consoles runs at below the minimum PC graphics options.
-
To be fair, the 8th console generation is one of the worst, hardware power-wise, console generations in the history of consoles. You can't expect a lot from them.

So you're telling me if I make the red stain brighter, i remove the fog and the fire in Engine.ini I wont get banned if I stream?
I didn't say that. I said nobody has been banned for editing their INI files. I
That being said - people make their red stains, and overall game brighter all the time with things like Nvidia Freestyle and Reshade, which aren't bannable. Removing fog would actually be very sketchy. They specifically say to uncap framerates, they won't ban for it. I've never seen anyone test removing fog etc, and I wouldn't suggest you do, either. Stick to things that aren't considered cheating.
-
Stop getting caught. :)
-
Nobody has ever been banned for editing their INI files in DBD. There's no case of it ever happening that wasn't directly debunked by a dev who said "No, that's not why you were banned" or something similar.
I changed a few lines in GameUserSettings.ini, and added 2 lines to Engine.ini almost 2 years ago to unlock my framerate, because FPS caps are passe. Many people have done this. Nobody has ever been banned for it.

I keep getting purple rank survivors and red ranks while I’m in green ranks they aren’t survive with friends either I was getting red ranks to start out with before I hit green ranks
So, I logged into my fiance's steam account. She's basically all around rank 20 in everything. I went as a perkless Wraith and got to rank 10 (before went back to my account to play Doc and Ghostface) in like 3 hours...from rank 16 to 10, I faced purple and red rank survivors.
Want to know what's funny? They played no differently than the rank 15+ survivors I was facing. It's so easy to rank up as survivor, potatoes exist at all ranks.
-
Can confirm. Last night, I went full Iri Head Huntress w/an Ebony Mori. It was a good time.
To the survivors credit, they did not DC. Much ######### was talked after game, though.
Also, the only person I tunneled until they died and mori'd off first hook was the Claudette. Reason I did it was because at the beginning of the game, she went out into the open, made the "bring it" emote, and then ran to the god window. She immediately went down, and never made it out of the basement.
-
The ranking system is basically going away soon. So this is pretty irrelevant.
-
The clowns map is the only map in that realm that is balanced. It's actually a very nice map. Though a face lift would be welcome. Disturbed Ward is absolutely broken.
-
Ghostface, because audience participation.
-
So, it's not that killers need ruin per say. They need the ability to apply pressure on large maps, or for maps to be downsized. Some killers can do it. Like, Hillbilly, Freddy, Nurse or Spirit. Other kills can walk from one end of the map to the other, and have 3 gens done by the time they get there. Namely Huntress and Hag to an extent.
Killers who require preparation (Trapper, Hag) need to be able to apply pressure, and ruin gave them that. The main thing is, the difference in difficulty between some killers, and literally everything survivor, is way too skewed.

Legit if you are going to camp and be toxic delete the game
Camping isn't toxic. It's a legitimate strategy. It's even endorsed by the devs as such. You're toxic for telling people how to play. Stop being toxic.

Borrowed time exists, as does mettle of man. Not getting saved?

In that post they only lost their kill because of a small overstep, DS doesn't guarantee free escapes, it just makes trading during egc less risky.
Really? With the gate opened, and a 60 second timer on DS...and a 5 second stun on DS...it doesn't guarantee an escape?
That's asinine.

I'll say this one more time.
NOED= Weak and lazy killer knowing from the beginning that the game is pretty much over.
One shot and extra movement speed= Killer can't handle the end game.
Earn your kills. 0 respect for NOED killers.
DS and BT = Weak and lazy survivor knowing from the beginning that they wouldn't be able to escape on their own.
DS being active when the exit gates are powered = survivors can't handle the end game.
Earn your escapes. 0 respect for people who hit a skill check and call it "outplaying" the killer.
See how broken your logic sounds when it's used against you?

If you don't count the -7000 BP the mori costs.
At this point, with my over 600 collective mori's across my killers, I really don't :P

I had questions for the stream. Please chose 1. Thank you! and yes, You can leave my name off of it. If you please. ;)
1 ) When are we going to address the fact that Distortion, BBQ and Nurses need a balance. Where (EITHER OR) :
- Distortion no longer has tokens.or...
- BBQ, Nurses now have usage tokens
2 ) addressing changes to ECG hatch. The match maker is picking from a much larger pool of players, which doesn't mean we always have the ideal match. So what can we do, to make the game "feel" better since exit gates have NOT been addressed.
- I nearly, always give the last survivor the exit gate out of sportsmanship.
- Hatch stand-offs are still there. it is now between 2 survivors left and a killer that has to wonder around trying to find 2 survivors hiding.
BBQ and Nurses are already perfectly balanced.
Play killer. Then you're allowed to talk about balance.

I wouldn't mind it. I think the devs are hesitant though because the killer could remember the names of a SWF group they face and dodge.
I mean, to be fair, there's so many people who use the same name in DBD it's not even something that would be an issue.
-
Pretty much what others have said. BBQ turns a 30k or 40k bloodpoint game into a 100k bloodpoint game with an additional 25% offering. On certain killers, like Huntress or Billy, the Aura reading is extremely useful as well, but it's easily countered.

Balance.

Why is everyone so butt hurt about no mither on your team. If someones running it they likely also have resilience. If they're decent, they will also likely escape regardless. I run no mither, resil, iron will, and dead hard/spine chill and escape pretty regularly.
Because one of two things always happens:
The killer tunnels them and they are out of the game super early (or they DC).
OR
They hide all game and do nothing.
Sometimes you'll see a No Mither teammate who actually tries, but usually, they are largely useless.

Using something with "a grain of salt" and completely disregarding them are to different things. I can use them if I wish.
Saying "take them with a grain of salt" is synonymous with them being "inconclusive".
One of the things they even said was not taken into account were DC's, which have been a HUGE, widespread issue for the games entire life span. That right there invalidates them as a backing for an argument.
-
I did that challenge first try. With Wraith. On Ormond.
mic drop

I have only P3'd my mains. Bill and Wraith. I've P1'd a few killers to get the bloody weapons, but that's about it. Everyone else is non prestige, with cosmetics, full perks.

Oh you absolutely never deserve to escape until you are out of that gate. I see a lot of people get cocky and pay for it at the gates and then get salty in post game chat lol.
The odds of rancor lining up are pretty slim anyways, hence why I don't see it really as a specific problem that much compared to soooo many far larger issues. I can see the nonsense to it, but it's so insignificant compared to the pile.
Exactly lol. It's SO situational. It's literally harder to utilize than Blood Warden, which is already one of the most clutch situational perks there is, lol

Tbh Rancor doesn't bother me that much I can see where it might bother some folks like OP is all. I find RNG okay if it isn't like, really in your face. I find Pig's boxes really in your face in that example so they bother me, but each person's tolerance of it is going to be different for sure.
A lot of people hate RNG in competitive games because it diminishes skill the more it's present. Like totem spawns for example, they are getting better with updates, but having your ruin spawn in literal eyesight of a survivor at the start of a game was horrible bad luck, and it doesn't exactly feel fair when sometimes it's just useless immediately because of that, sometimes it's not.
The totems being hidden randomly however makes sense, so does hatch and so on since it's providing mystery instead of just shifting odds.
Just trying to provide the other side's view on that though, if you disagree that's fine I respect that, but I am likely not to be convinced is all.
I mean yeah, i can see how it bothers people, but OPs REASONING for it...that "she deserved the escape" is complete nonsense. You don't deserve what you don't get, and by their own logic, DS/BT etc. shouldn't exist.
I haven't been killed by Rancor since the week it was introduced when Spirit came out in September 2018. So if you're playing survivor and getting Rancor'd that often...you're doing it wrong.

Unlike Rancor, none of these perks last forever. While Rancor persists.
If the exit gates are open, how long they last is irrelevant. Since we're talking about end game scenarios here (cause thats the only time rancor works).
Nice try.

"I ran the killer all game, I deserved to escape"

Did well in chases.
Healed and unhooked teammates.
Haven’t been downed or hooked.
The team did all five generators.
Totally didn’t deserve to live.
Running out the door is HOW you escape, not earn it, silly billy.
Like I said, you didn't earn the escape until you're out the door.
By your logic, DS and borrowed time shouldn't exist either.

I did notice it was there, which is good on me.
I honestly forget that it didn’t COMPLETELY revealed the survivor, so that was good to know.
I really did try to be stealthy at the end, by leaving the generator early and trying to be as an immerse Claudette I could be.
But try as I may, it just didn’t work. Also, again, it was a Doctor. The killer MADE to remove stealth.
If it was a Doctor and you were trying to be stealthy, you weren't doing a good job if you weren't in a locker.

"toxic" is highly subjective.
Not really. Toxic is a behavior, or an attitude. It's impossible for something coded into a video game for you to use to be toxic. Not Insidious, not DS, not BT, nothing. They can be annoying, and an overall pain in the ass, they are never toxic. These are tools the developers of the game provide you to try to accomplish your objective.
If someone ######### talks in post-game chat, that's toxic. If you say "ggez", that's toxic. If you mori spam, or use other exploits not intended by the devs, that's toxic.
Toxic is not highly subjective in a video game that has set rules.
-
@Umbrae_pk said:
Had a game where a doctor LITERALLY couldn't catch me, so I deserve the escape if I earn it, right? Wrong.
The gens popped and he chased, downed me, THEN moried me without me being hooked once! Why can this happen? At least with NOED you can AVOID it from being activated, or shut it down if it does. With Rancor you have no choice.
"Just escape you trash survivor main." I hear you thinking... I'd liked to but since the aura reading exists he spotted and targeted me.
The sad thing is, I don't even blame the doctor for this, I blame the devs. For even allowing a perk like this to go through AND promote it by putting it in The Archive Challenges.
Thanks, but no thanks.
You don't earn an escape until you're out the door.

That's cool. Still not toxic, lol.
It's a legitimate playstyle, even said by the devs. :)
-
There is no toxic insidious. It's a perk in the game. Any use of it is perfectly fine.
-
NOED doesn't need to be nerfed at all. It's existence is controlled entirely by survivors.
-
So, the person above me, what they are conveniently (to fit their narrative) forgetting is that yes, DCers were punished, which was great. However, there are people who suffered from bugs that have been in the game for years, including the infinite loading screen glitch, stuck in healing position glitch, stick in a tree glitch etc....all of these things forced people to either kill the DBD process or disconnect. They were then punished. For something they had zero control over.
So to answer your question truthfully, unlike the person above me, they removed the penalties so they can fix the things that cause people to get punished for no fault of their own, because you can not implement a system like this if innocent people end up as collateral damage.
-
Hi, you must be new.
